This location of North Star is terrible. This started with all information being in mychart which they didn't review. Then they sent a form to complete which they still didn't review. we arrived 5 minutes late which they said they had to reschedule for 30 minutes later. After getting rescheduled the tech comes out and says you need to take this prescription before getting your scan due to allergies but you have to contact the prescribing doctor to get the prescription filled at the pharmacy. Two of the three prescriptions were OTC but one of the OTC prescriptions has been discontinued. For the life of me I can't understand why they would provide a prescription for an expired medication. I've contacted North Star trying to get the alternative prescription but I was told they would call me back in 15 minutes which I never received so when I called them they put me on hold and never returned to the phone. The two ladies at the front desk never have a clue and do a terrible job with patient handling. read more

I am concerned for the safety of your patients both physically and mentally. I'm very disappointed in the amount of clerical issues that have occurred while using this facility. I initially had to have my MRI rescheduled due to it being entered incorrectly and finding out after I verified what was being done by phone on the day of my appointment. My MRI was initially entered incorrectly and I only found out after I questioned what was being done / listed on the day of my appointment. They looked at the order sent by my doctor and realized the procedure I was scheduled for was entered incorrectly. Additionally, I received a bill after being told I was paying in full -due to my insurance being mis-entered and having a complete STRANGER listed under my account as well. This almost seems like a HIPPAA violation due to me having his name / address. I am beyond upset and concerned that I was billed due to my insurance not paying the bill and finding out this was probably due to someone else being tied to my account and my insurance. I am mortified that I have his full name and address and wonder how safe and secure my information is. Staff is in dire need of retraining. People who need MRI's and imaging services are already stressed out enough and I myself need this for a potentially debilitating disease. This process should have been easy but instead I've had to verify and confirm information that was erroneously entered multiple times. I filed a complaint on the site March 10, as of April 7th nobody has contacted me and I still do not have an updated bill as requested. It says "pending" on the site and when I called to ask for it to be updated I was given the same thing that's on the website from January. I do see multiple claims were sent and paid out by my insurance though. read more

Clueless front desk. Gave me the wrong instructions for my MRI visit even after I called, and therefore turned me away when I showed for my appointment. They rescheduled me, but then called me when I got home with a different appointment time that was ridiculous. So, they jacked me around because of their stupid mistake. Had 10:15 appointment today at NSDI 3700 W. 15th St. Asked to arrice at 10:00 to complete sign in paperwork. Was greeted quickly by office staff and they helped me complete needed information and to take a seat. I had just sat down when the technician (Arnessia Cyrus) called me. She took me to test area, was very professional and friendly. She throughly explained testing process and how long it would take. Was in and out quickly and I must say very impressed with office staff and especially how I was treated by Ms. Cyrus. Great experiance with NSDI. read more

The wait time is horrible - 45 minutes. The X-Ray tech said my doctor should have the results in 2 days. After 8 business days, my doctor has not gotten the results. Try to contact them and no one picks up the phone! read more

This place is great. Fast, clean, friendly, professional, and efficient. Free and ample parking. And it's the snacks & candy capital of the world! Unfortunately they took days to send the results to my doc - had to call and ask for them to do it. Worse, if you want your images they won't send them to you (or anyone else) - they only provide CD-ROM copies. Wait, what year is this? Even if I wanted to drive to your office to pick up a plastic copy of my data, what am I supposed to do with it? I haven't had a computer with a CD drive in many years. Update: I am removing 2 stars for their billing practices. Be mindful & ALWAYS check your claim with your insurance. Both my X-ray & MRI services were FULLY covered by my insurance. However, North Star refused to do my MRI until I paid upfront plus have the remaining taken out my account every two weeks. Once, I realized my insurance covered it, we (insurance & myself) contacted them to ask for an immediate refund & to stop taking my money! Their response "we will not stop taking your money until your insurance proves they paid". So I am currently going back & forth to get my money back!!! This is just a note that places will take your money & never tell you that your insurance already paid. I will NOT be using this center for future services. read more

Little imaging place near Medical City Plano that's simple amazing. They worked with my speciality doctor and PCP doctors office to combine some imaging it I needed. They also worked so well with me. A stressful situation became easy and comfy able thanks to all the staff working together. They heard all my concerns and addressed them kindly and professionally. From front office staff to the techs in the back, everyone was simply amazing. They really put a lot of effort into patient comfort, ease, and care. I highly recommend using this location! read more

My Issue is with the billing department. I set up an installment plan to pay my bill. It was fully paid in October. On December 24 I got an invoice marked "Final Notice" from them showing that I owe $2250 and 0 payments against that amount and it is a final notice before sending the account to collections. No one answers at the phone number on the invoice they provided for service. No one at North Star Diagnostics in Plano can help because they don't deal with the billing and the special number they gave me to call goes to an answering machine and no one calls back!!!! Do not go here for any diagnostic testing unless you want to experience billing problems. read more

I went in for a diagnostic procedure, but really had no idea of what was involved. Kelly was an amazing tech. She was respectful, concerned, gentle, caring, professional and informative. She had the experience to be able to take all questions in stride, while efficiently conducting the procedure. Whatever they are paying her it is not enough. Based upon my experience with her, and the front desk staff, I would return to this facility anytime I needed this sort of service - and I would highly recommend their facility over all others. read more

I went to the Flower Mound location and these people don't seem to know what they are doing. i had to go back 4 times to get my stuff done. My doctor sent me to this place for an xray, best experience! Fast in and out. Everyone was very nice, awesome drinks and snacks in the lobby (REALLY GOOD snacks!!). I wouldn't even give them a star, because even when the office is nice it doesn't make up for all of the billing issues that they wont talk to you about because they have a 3rd party billing. I paid upfront for an mri and they never even sent it through my insurance. I had to call 4 times got hung up on twice to even get them to bill my insurance. They still didnt send all of the charges so i had to call again. Once I waited 45 days the statements from my insurance sure didnt match what they had on billing. I had to have my insurance co call them to verify all of the payments and is still pending. The MRI was done 11/19/18 and it is 3/12 and still havent received my full refund. read more

This place showed today what Customer Service and patient care is about. I was told at 11 by my Dr. I needed an MRI. With the end of the year and my deductible being paid I called Lori and she told me to come right over. She then spend the next hour fighting with my insurance to get an approval so that the test could be done today. She was tenacious and told me several times to hang in there she would get it done and she did. Kudos to her! At every step she had only by best interest at hear as she was fitting me in and causing herself and Tammy (MRI Technologist) to have to work overtime. Tammy was friendly and gave me great instruction for the test. "Just don't move your leg Mr. Grimes". Well I got bored and messed up the test. She was very nice and redid the part I messed up and then laughed with me about why I messed the test up. I could not have asked for a better experience they both deserve a lot of thanks from me and a bonus for working overtime today to make sure this patient was taking care of in the proper way. The staff was friendly and the MRI images were good. My problem is with billing. At the time of service they collected approximately $600 for the service. When I received my EOB from my insurance I had a $40 copay. Yes, NorthStar had preapproved the procedure through my insurance company. When I contacted them they told me that on 10/1/18 they switched to a third party billing company and I needed to contact them. After using a useless automated system I was put on hld due to "an unusally high call rate". It is now almost 2 months since the service and my insurance company has told me they sent a check, they say they don't have it and I am stuck somewhere in the middle. Imaging services were fine, but the billing department is incompetent. The insurance company paid more than they had expected, and they readily admitted I was owed a refund. After four months and five conversations later, they still have not issued the refund. I have received excuse after excuse, and still no check. I recommend you find another provider. read more

I'm not complaining about the medical service part and thank for that. I'm giving the one star totally because of the billing department. I got a bill about three months later after the service for my son. Both patient name and insurance info were wrong. I could correct the insurance info online but couldn't change the patient name. After lots of times trying to call them, finally got connected with a representative. I told her to change the patient name and file the claim again using the correct info. She was so~~~~ rude!! She didn't listen to me at all. Just kept yelling at me and asked me to contact my insurance company during the whole conversation. I understand that they have filed the claim before sending me the bill. But that's using even wrong patient name, ok?!! How could you get approved?!! It's not my fault at all!!! Why yelling at me instead of apologizing for your fault?!!! I never made any negative comment anywhere but this time it made me really angry!!! This is a great place. An orderly, prompt, and pleasant staff. The waiting room is comfortable and stocked with an assortment of snacks. Our technician, Melanie, was knowledgable and professional, as well as very compassionate with my son. He was having an anxiety attack.
