I also ordered a travertine fireplace that is coming from Mexico and there have been delays with that one. Mitchell finally advised me that it was arriving, then there was a bit of a delay with the shipping, but he's taking care of it. The store is in such a cute mall, the Rancho Santa Fe Plaza, in Encinitas. So much other shopping can be done in that plaza. Going into Mitchell's store is pretty amazing. There is every type of fireplace, screen (fancy, plain, artisan), and all the new goodies, like the shiny rocks that you can put in the fireplace instead of the logs. Mitchell said after the fireplaces are in, that's when he comes out to the house and changes out the old screened interior of the fireplaces and replaces them with the pretty shiny stones. And he also sells barbecues!! Will have to see about that at a later date. These fireplaces (pre fab) are much less expensive than custom designed marble or travertine fireplaces, which run around $12,000. I'm happy with my pre-fab, and look forward to the second one.

Carl arrived at his appointment visit and confirmed the work we would need to do and scheduled an appointment for completion. These guys were efficient and clearly knew all about fireplaces. My general contractor recommended this company. This place is reputable and they follow through on their word. We are very pleased.

I…read morewanted a working firepit, so I started calling every company in the area with "Fireplace" in its name. Most of them said that what I wanted -- refurbishing an old fire pit -- was not something that they did. The person who answered the phone at AMS was willing to discuss possibilities with me, and after some back and forth, I decided that what I wanted was to have AMS rip out the plumbing in the existing firepit and replace it with a new insert. AMS fireplace first sent a plumber to verify that the gas pipes were safe and functional. Then they sent a technician to measure. Then they custom-manufactured a firepit insert that fit into my masonry, and then they sent out someone to remove the old burner and install the new one. I was so happy with the result that I decided to have AMS Fireplace replace the insides of the gas fireplace that came with my house with a new one that worked better (the heat goes into the room and not up the chimney). They did this too, but since it didn't require custom manufacturing it was quick. As I write this review it is late September 2024. I expect that in a month or so I will start wanting again to use the inside fireplace for warmth. In the meantime, my grandchildren love to cook smores and hot dogs on the outdoor firepit. I've had to devious about where I hide the key that turns on its gas.

They were able to schedule a technician (Shawn) to come out within about 3 hours, which was incredibly helpful. Shawn arrived on time and was very kind and professional. He carefully inspected everything, explained what was going on with the fireplace, and ended up reinstalling a new remote and receiver to replace the broken one. After moving in, we decided to get a second opinion. FireSafe did a level 1 inspection for $125, and we were SO happy to hear that we didn't need a cleaning or crack repair. And he let us know the ash pit clean out could be done on our own (to save $) & even gave us instructions how to do it. We will definitely be using them next year when we do need a cleaning! But we are so grateful for their transparency and saving us money!!

The fire pit installed by this company exploded into my girlfriend's face. We had an independent professional company come out to inspect the unit and the gas line. Their findings were shocking: the gas connection was completely loose. This negligence allowed gas to build up inside the fire pit structure, which caused it to explode upon ignition. Because of the physical injuries sustained and the absolute gross negligence regarding a gas installation, we are now taking this company to litigation. If you value the safety of your home and your family, stay far away from this business. A "loose connection" on a gas line is not just a mistake--it is a deadly hazard. We are currently in the process of legal action to hold them accountable for the damage and trauma they have caused. Zero stars. Avoid at all costs.
