Albert has an incredible work ethic and strives for customer satisfaction. Fire Tech installed our wood burning stove and the product was missing some parts. He was tenacious in chasing them down from Warm Hearth and making the trip back up to Julian to make sure it was all correct. We HIGHLY recommend them. read more

Living in a large condominium complex that was built in 1980 can have it's issues. One being a very old gas fireplace unit. We had 3 different companies come out to give us an assessment of our broken unit with an eye towards replacing it with a newer, updated one. Albert Carrillo and FireTech Fireplace Contractors were far and away the best choice. He gave us the good news and the bad news of our situation and he did a wonderful job of completing our wish list of items for our new fireplace. If you have any questions or concerns about moving forward with replacing an old fireplace unit, do yourself a favor and give these people a call immediately. Trustworthy, thorough and very knowledgeable. We are thrilled with their work. read more

FireTech replaced our twenty year old gas fireplace with a brand new updated model. It's fabulous - see pic. Looks very elegant and gives out so much more radiant heat. Removing the old one and installing the new one was complex and very hard work over four days. But the FireTech guys are so skilled and left everything nice and clean. I highly recommend them to update your old gas fireplace or install a new one. Very highly recommended. read more

I made an appointment with them 3 weeks ago to repair my living room fireplace. It was a window arrival appointment 11 am to 1 pm. So I took off work to be there. Their technician was a no show. So I left after 1 and after a waste of time . Their office called me well after 1 pm giving excuses and that he is there. I was too far gone to come back . They are not reliable . read more

We got bids from 3 fireplace kit installation companies. One store owner said "don't worry honey, we'll do a good job and you'll be warm". What?!! Another installer came with a tape measure but nothing to capture the info (no phone or even pencil and paper), then Albert from FireTech came. He was on time, took photos and measurements, did a hand drawing noting the shape and tile, and is the only one who wanted to see the outside chimney. He explained the process, sent his measurements to tbe fireplace store and us and a formal bid via email the same day. Guess who we chose? Yup! Albert from FireTech did a beautiful job installing a Cozy Heat fireplace kit in about a half day. He put on booties, carefully covered the floor with padding-blankets, took all the trash with him and patiently answered our many questions. They are very busy and juggled their schedule around the kit delays from the manufacturer. I appreciated the good text and phone communication. read more

We were very pleased with the work that Albert and Carmine did on our gas fireplace . One gets only one chance to make a first impression ~ both were polite and friendly- wore face masks ( much appreciated as we battle COVID , RSV and the FLU this winter ) put on shoe covers and brought their own drop cloth ! Repair was made , they cleaned the whole unit and when they left , it was like no one had been here - except of course the fire worked - so happy . I have already sent Albert's contact information to several of my friends , in the event that they need his services. Thank you so much, Albert and Carmine . read more

FireTech Fireplace Contractors - Montigo gas fireplace - Fireplace Services Near Me

Fire Tech is limited in their services and seem to lack attention to detail or communication skills. Their inattention cost me $50 for nothing. I need my current wood burning fire box replaced. I called Albert, explained the situation and e-mailed him photographs and dimensions. I understood his desire to conduct a consultation and agreed to the $50 fee. After a couple of consult reschedules, he arrived and informed us that he couldn't do the project because the existing fire box needed to be removed. Duh! That's why I called him! I explained the situation over the phone! I sent him pictures! The existing fire box is clearly there! Why couldn't he tell me this over the phone to save him the trip and me $50? I don't think he was listening and I don't think he even opened the e-mail I sent. Keep that in mind when considering fireplace contractors. read more

About a year ago I have Albert and his crew to install not one, but two inserts in our house. I waited that long with the review because I wanted to make sure everything will work as it should and inserts perform and I even ordered a chimney cleaning guys to clean and check if they see anything wrong. Nothing! Inserts are perfect, liners and topping are in a great shape and look nice too. So I do highly recommend this company. I really like that they were easy to reach and they were resourceful too (I needed a small roof repair and they gave me a contact info of a great guy). They were very clean, accurate and patiently answered all my questions. Marco was the guy who actually installed the inserts. Great guy. I had wonderful experience. You should try them. read more

I called to schedule an appointment and got a prompts response. Albert is amazing! Professional, very reliable and trustworthy. He arrived on time for a consult on the installation of a wood stove at my remote cabin. He was very thorough when assessing and measuring my 100 year old fireplace and chimney and honest about pros and cons for the installation. Based on his expert review, I saved thousands of dollars on a unit that wouldn't have worked well. I switched to a different unit and something that will work much better for my cabin. Thank you again!! I would definitely recommend Albert for any fireplace needs. read more

Terrible communication. Waited seven days for them to get back with parts for my Mendota gas fireplace. Finally called them and they told me the pilot issue had been fixed. Went to my rental and the fireplace was still in pieces on the floor. Called Firetech back and was told the parts werent made anymore. Firetech said I needed a new fireplace that they could install. For $5k. Internet search I found my parts at large fireplace supply. After telling Firetech how bad their service was and that I intended to review them, they called back and said they found a "retrofit kit" for my unit. Days later the parts they sent were the same ones I found online at a huge markup. The gas valve was $565 from Firetech and $289 online. Avoid Firetech at all costs. read more

Sadly the numerous negative reviews here and on other review sites came to our attention only after doing business with this vendor. I would stay far away from this company as the other reviews have pointed out they are not to be trusted, not skilled in many parts of fire product, overpriced, and while appear very polished at first are in fact quite the opposite. read more

So our fireplace hasn't worked in about 3 years...It was one of those things that we just kept putting off-convincing ourselves that we'll get to it later. . Well, this winter has been freaking cold! And it's suppose to rain again this weekend-and well I thought it would be perfect to stay in and watch movies with the fireplace on after all these years-so I called someone to fix it-they were not knowledgeable on my fireplace, therefore the guy recommended Albert. I called ...He came over with in an hour-fixed the fireplace-literally in 2.5 minutes! It was super fast! All these years-we sat in the cold for no reason!!! He fixed it in under 3 minutes... Well, he was incredibly Professional, knowledgeable and has Great Customer Service...Also was incredibly affordable! I highly recommend him if your fireplace needs a fixing ;) read more

Fire Tech was selected to replace my fireplace at my property in Mission Beach CA. They quoted on a model that was far different than the one being replaced. They provided poor communication with myself as the homeowner and with the contractor who was requested to do the site preparation for them. They were extremely inflexible with their scheduling including refusing to come on site even to discuss matters when I flew in from the east coast specifically to be on-site to facilitate the process for 4 complete days. This resulted in considerable delays and cost overruns that I was forced to absorb. I felt that since they got their money, they really didn't care. I advised my local property manager to consider alternate providers for fireplace work at my property and other properties they manage. read more

Our gas fireplace was working just fine and then all of a sudden one day it wouldn't start working. Called a few places around town and they couldn't come for at least 3 weeks and was charging $150+ just for diagnosis. Due to the long wait times the companies recommended calling Albert at Firetech along with a few other companies which may have shorter wait times. Albert was the only one available within the next 3 days. Albert came over the very next day, on time, diagnosed and fixed the issue within half an hour (faulty override switch plus a short in the on/off switch). Total cost was less than $100. He explained what was wrong and how to properly maintain our fireplace. Couldn't be more happier. read more

Albert gave a quote to have unnecessary work done. When I showed him the recommended installation manual and that no other installer or cleaner for the previous 10 years deemed his work necessary, he went on to say "I don't feel comfortable installing it that way" ....he did feel comfortable collecting a trip fee and giving an outrageous quote. I could hire my uncle in the New York Union to fly out and install it for less than he was willing to charge. Payment was sent as soon as we talked and clarified the parts list was twice a much as anyone else. To say you never received payment is slander. I have the cashed check to prove it. read more

I too, believe that this company, Fire Tech, Albert & Mario, are in over their heads. I had scheduled an appointment approximately 2-3 weeks ago and had them call today to tell me they couldn't make it until 4:00 or later, just not sure. I had a 10:30 - 12:00 appt. In addition I had Albert, the (OWNER) check out my problem without any success. He did however charge $150 to clean the glass!!! He called later to tell me that it was probably the control valve but I should replace the module too, he just wasn't sure. Long story short, his quote was approx. $680 after paying him $150 for nothing. Today his helper Mario called and was rude and sarcastic. Take my advice and find a reputable service company. This company sucks!!!!! read more

Called tech center for the company that manufactured our fireplace with a minor issue. After 30 minutes on hold, I explained the problem, they told me to call repair service. Local fireplace store referred me to Albert at Firetech. He returned my call within 10 minutes. Won't hesitate to use in the future if needed. read more

Had a chimney cap installed today. Was told it would cost a couple hundred. Bill came to $480! When I asked why, Albert said $200 was just for the part. I asked about cost multiple times- why not tell me the full price? On top of it, cap has gaps that don't look great aesthetically. They came out to measure so I expected it would fit nicely. Was going to use them to install a fireplace upstairs but definitely won't. read more

I called Albert out to clean my fireplace when he was done it didn't ignite. He told me it would cost about $300 to $400 in parts plus the labor to fix it. I have been in the remodeling trades for over 30 years so i decided to take a look my self. With in seconds I discovered loose wires from Albert vacuuming.Once i connect the wires it worked fine. I feel bad for the homeowners who do not have the knowledge and would have to pay that amount for his carelessness. When i called to tell him about his mistake and that i fixed it Albert offered no refund. Nice guy and did a great job cleaning it. My recommendation to Albert is take your time on the trouble shooting. read more

Alberto called back promptly to make an appointment, and showed up half hour earlier. He quoted be $90 just for the appointment (a two hour block), and "minor repairs", which is a very loose term in my book. Then half way during the appointment, changed his price to $150 + $80 for the part that he needed to order to complete the fireplace work. So we went to from $90 to $230 just like that. He said he will call back same evening to confirm when the part will arrive and to make the next appointment. It took 5 days to get a hold of him, then I made another appointment a few days later. He came by and fixed the fireplace in under 1 hour. Professional but very expensive. read more

Excellent service! very good about returning calls, flexible to get an appointment scheduled, and right on time for appointment ( 2 hour window, much better than most that require 4 hour window). I met with Albert on extremely short notice which was huge given my fireplace redesign problems. (and the time factor breathing down my back). Albert evaluated my situation and gave me some options to consider. It was what he didn't do that impressed me the most: he didn't give me promises he couldn't keep. He was honest in his assessment of what could realistically be accomplished in the given time frame. I appreciate that as I could have rolled the dice with some other contractor who promised that certain work would be done...then fail to achieve that. It would have been a nightmare for me as I have other work being done that hinged on the fireplace work. Albert gave me straight answers of which then I could derive my own conclusion. I would recommend FireTech, especially Albert, for your fireplace issues. Craig W. read more

Having just gone through an extensive remodel of our home including no less than seven different contractors, my wife and I have reluctantly developed some expertise that will serve us and, hopefully, you, with future contractor selections. For us the quality of a contractor boils down to three things; integrity, competence and fairness. Firetech scores highly on all counts. You have to be comfortable with the people that come into your home. Integrity is the key element. Albert, the owner, his dad, the rest of the crew the electricians, drywall, masons, everyone ... They showed up on time, communicated well, met and kept to the budget, and covered the only mistake on their nickel. We were completely comfortable having them in our home and with the way they conducted themselves. At the end of the day, the lasting measure of the contractor is his work. We are so pleased with our new fireplace. It is the centerpiece of our family room , the most widely used room in our home. All of the crew and subcontractors took great pride in performing their work and did so with excellent results. I am certain we will be enjoying our new fireplace as long as we own our home. Albert, please thank everyone associated with FireTech for the great job and the professional manner in which they conducted it. Rob and Lisa read more
