The flavors are definitely there. The service is fine; I wish they were a bit more attentive - the service was worthy of a place that serves $12 burritos, not $23 burritos. I really enjoyed their surf and turf burrito. The shrimp was cooked perfectly, the steak was cooked fine and all the extras were balanced and delicious. Overall, I will be back. Wow! This place is awesome. All of the food was amazing, the drinks were really great too. They have bottled and canned drinks that they make on and offsite. After trying several we bought some to go. The tuna ceviche is basically a poke bowl - perfect meal for one or a shared app. The tacos were good, super surprised by how hot the bottled salsa was that was brought for the tacos. Can't wait to come back to this place. The service is good but they do add 20% service charge to every bill so there's no tip line on the check. read more

We we're definitely excited to check this spot out but found our food to be limited in spice and flavor. Also generally pretty pricey, $15 for queso is a lot! The food was okay, the service was terrific HOWEVER. On a beautiful Monday evening the manager would not "seat the patio". There were customers on the patio already and after we were sat inside we saw a server seat on the patio. We asked our server why? She said she had NEVER heard of that before. The host/manager lady simply said "I am done sitting the patio? Ummm we went here to have drinks on the patio, it made entirely no sense. Omg amazing! I'm so upset we haven't tried this place until now since it's just down the street. This is definitely our new go-to. The food is SO unbelievably tasty and the portions are giant! I got the california burrito and I could only finish 1/4. Looking forward to reheating this for breakfast and lunch haha! It had perfectly cooked carne asada inside, cheese, fries, tomatoes, and avocado so was juicy delicousness. It also was smothered on top! Little taste of home! My husband and I came here for happy hour because we miss a little bit of San Diego. Although I am not from North County San Diego, its the closest thing to home! Read the reviews here and it seems unanimous! Obviously we ordered the carne asada fries and my husband missed it so much that it just warmed his little heart lol. Great dedication to one of San Diego greatest foods! Definitely the ingredients are better than what you would get at a Roberto's in San Diego, but I'm not complaining! We joined friends for brunch today for our first visit to North County in Lowry. We ordered off the brunch menu and enjoyed every bite. I was surprised at how I uncrowded this establishment was at 10 am because they have a great menu, authentic and delicious Mexican fare, great and accommodating service and a nice atmosphere. I had the egg white vegetarian omelette with al pastor and hash brown potatoes and it was delicious but too large a serving for me to finish. We passed on alcohol but they have a nice and appealing selection of recommended drinks. I suspect it's busier at late lunch and dinner but you are missing out on a terrific brunch! read more

Used to love this place, great service and food. We went in last week - no hostess to seat us, so we sat ourselves down. Eventually someone comes running over and says we can't sit there as the table has been booked - FOR AN HOUR AND A HALF later. I think we can eat three tacos in 90 minutes. Waiter messed up our drinks order. Tacos seem a lot smaller than a year or so ago. To top it all off, they now have an inbuilt "service fee" of 21%. They didn't tell me that so I ended up tipping them for appalling service at 36%. Will not be going back. read more

The food flavor was decent but I can't get behind a place that costs me $85 for a dinner for 2 (with only 1 alcoholic drink) and we still leave hungry. The street tacos were TINY. Not your average street tacos that you can get everywhere else in the Denver area. I'm usually set on 3 street tacos and I'm satisfied but these were so tiny that I wanted at least 3 more. I love North County! Our favorite is to ride bikes over drink a few adult sodas and nachos or ceviche on the patio! The vibe is relaxed but up beat, food is great and really fresh! Their flavor pairing is done well! They even have a taco with banana chips that I was skeptical about but to my surprise it was great! I don't know it would be my go to taco here because the rest of the menu is so amazing but, it's a must try at least once! The staff is always good. Not over the top nice but efficient yet authentic. Which for me is a win! My favorite part of North County is their drinks! They are really fresh, not too sweet and well served in the realm of booze! Walked in at 10:01p and although the kitchen closes at 10, they allowed us to order, which I thought was a stretch, thanks again!!! Sat at the bar, David was our bartender, he was nice and friendly! The shrimp and crab enchiladas were soooooooo delicious!! And I'm always skeptical when it comes to mixing Mexican and seafood together!!! I live in the Lowry area and have eaten at North County many times. I actually gave them a decent review in 2016. The one thing that is evident over the last few years is that they simply cannot hire and keep good waitstaff. There is one waitress who is a staple but other than her, we rarely see a familiar face. I don't know if their staffing challenges are due to the fact they charge a 21% service fee instead of using a typical tipping structure or what. Regardless, the service really suffers here, as is evidence by repeated visits over the last year. I had lunch there today and ordered the mussels. They were all entirely too small and there was practically nothing to them. The kitchen should never have sent them out. When I called the waiter over and explained most of them were inedible, he just looked at me like "and your point is?" He did agree to talk to the chef who agreed they were too small. I ended up eating something else and leaving but at no time did I feel anyone (i.e., the person who greeted me, the food runner or my waiter) were in any way happy I was there. No one checked on the food and I was never asked if I wanted another drink. They took my silverware when they they took the mussels back to the kitchen and never replaced it. They comp'd the mussels but did include the cost when calculating the service fee, so I tipped on food I didn't like and didn't eat. We were regulars when we moved to the area in 2015. Unfortunately, over the years we've watched them lose their mojo and end up offering a dining experience that's uninspired on pretty much every level. I just can't justify another visit to North County when Denver has so many restaurants that are working hard to ensure they meet the basic tenets of hospitality (greet the customer or tell then you'll be with them asap, check on the food, see if the table wants anything else, thank the customers, etc.). This is a cute little spot and it was hopping when we came for dinner. I highly recommend you put yourself on the waitlist via Yelp! The restaurant has a nice outdoor space with heat lamps. The restaurant felt full, but the noise level wasn't too loud. This isn't really a restaurant that's trying to cater to two tops, I think all of the tables can seat at least four people, but we were happy to sit at the bar, which is well-staffed. Their drinks are good here, and not too expensive. My fiance got the poke burrito and loved it. I wasn't feeling terribly hungry so I ordered the mussels and fries - the dish had a nice Mexican twist. I can't speak to the tacos, but they all sounded amazing. Come on bruv... the thing is, I don't mind paying big bucks for good food, but this.... (face palms) this was ridunculous, it looked ok but the nachos tasted stale, it was topped with kinda melted pre packaged cheddar cheese, what tasted like canned beans and really old tasting shredded pork.... I had such high hopes for this place but I'm so disappointed I don't even know if it's worth trying anything else on the menu. Amazing tacos and other treats inspired by a Nor-Cali take on Mexican food. We are regulars here and absolutely love every experience at North County. In the summer time we enjoy their tasty sodas and taco plates (with various options for tacos) on their spacious and floral encapsulated patio. For colder months, we love their enchiladas (tacos, still, of course!) and their quesadilla while enjoying their beautiful bar top. The greenery and overall ambiance tops off the wonderful food and drink options that are available. Very poor experience for lunch yesterday 9/4 which is super disappointing because the last time I went there, my friends and I had a blast and the food was really good. Before ordering we noticed the music was extremely loud (we were sitting outside) and we could barely hear each other at our table. My mom and I ordered the breakfast burrito. I asked for no cheese and the green chili on the side. When they arrived, my mom's burrito looked really good and had tomatos, and green onion on top of the green chili. My burrito had zero toppings and was at least an inch shorter than hers (we ordered the SAME burrito). Mine also arrived with cheese on the green chili. They did take it away and fix it (maybe just scraped the cheese off?) The burrito itself was mostly eggs, a couple soggy "hash brown" pieces and a few fatty bacon bits. According to the menu it was supposed to have salsa inside as well. I think I found two tiny pieces of tomato in the whole burrito. If I'm paying $15 for a breakfast burrito, I'm expecting it to be delicious, but this was not good at all. The waiters (one was training) walked past us a dozen times and never stopped to ask how the food was or how we were doing/ if we needed anything. My friend wanted Tabasco sauce and we couldn't find anyone to ask for some. Our water carafe was empty and never got refilled. Really disappointed in the whole experience. read more

I found this place absolutely incredible. We were pretty early to our resveration, but the wonderful hostess got us a spot at the bar quickly. There the bartender was very busy, but gave us consistently quick service. Then we went to our table and had amazing dishes. We tasted about 6 different tacos and then got the churros. When the weather is good, the patio is a must. They have tables and couches for you to pick. We went their for brunch, and it was great. I ordered the breakfast tacos which had chorizo in it. I was delicious. Forewarning, it is a pork product, so it does drip flavorful grease. The breakfast burrito was also ordered at my tabled. It was filled with bacon, potato, and eggs. It was also smothered in pork green chili which was not too spicy. They also brought over some local hot sauce to spice anything up.
