I have never ate at a Norms before and my friend mentioned it to me so I was like what the heck lets finally try it. Its basically like a dennys, with breakfast and steak options and pancakes!! Our server was Kristina with a K, and she was the nicest and cutest lady. She offered us the porter ranch steak which was very juicy and flavorful. So, If you wanna stop by for a quick and cheap meal and be served by the nicest lady ever, then this place is for you:) read more

Kristina was very attentive and cheerful. I got the clubhouse sandwich which was so good my mom got the sirloin steak medium and was cooked perfectly very tender and juicy. read more

The french toast and eggs were delicious! The customer service was exceptional. My server Alex was not only tall, dark, and handsome. He was incredibly kind and attentive. He kept checking on my table regularly and asked if I wanted more hot water. The restaurant is medium sized but cozy and comfortable. Great for a warm meal and conversation. read more

The steaks are thin and never cooked correctly. Leather or rare are your choices, seriously...

This restaurant is a local icon. You really get a lot of good food for reasonable prices. Very extensive menu. There aren't many restaurants that give you soup and salad before the dinner menu. If I still lived in the valley I would be eating here often. I wish there was a Norm's in Lancaster CA. The Norm's on Colorado Blvd. is great also. read more

Food is amazing. Complete meal for under $18 and Kristina is a joy to have!! She's super sweet and fun to talk to between food delivery.

Newly remolded and fully open for business both indoor and outdoor dinning.... The Norm's of Van Nuys/Valley Glen adjacent is thriving as one of the few 24hr eateries or businesses in the LA Valley. Located at Woodman and Sherman Way in a massive lot with tons of parking Norm's is a win... For most... They have impressive deals on everything The service is above and beyond, but I can only have a salad here in terms of food... first world problems indeed... I will say the salad and tomatoes are fairly fresh as is the dressing. Really surprised this chain that's making a come back doesn't have any solid plant-based vegan friendly veggie options, even small mom and pop places or heck Denny's has several... One of the servers told me that even the sides (fries, rings, etc) are likely cooked with everything else that's fried as well... So avoided those. I was glad my friend could eat plenty including breakfast... served all day! Between the layout and service alone I'd come here just for another cup of coffee or some fresh jugo de naranja - orange juice is the best! read more

The food was delicious and our server Kristina was amazing! She truly made our family dinner a great experience

NORM'S! This place is ALWAYS packed! I mean, why wouldn't it be! You get fast service, big portions, and good food at a great price! I've been here enough times to know whatever I get will be good. It's not fine dining.. But simple, no frills diner food. Good for all ages! The burgers are good. Breakfast is served all day! The servers are on point! They really work for those tips and they do it with a smile! Parking lot is huge! read more

Had a casual dinner with my family at this location at around 7 o'clock and it was surprisingly not too busy so we immediately were able to get seated, thanks to Tom. We sat at a table near the front and were greated by our server Kristina who is so nice! She got us our drinks right away, took our orders, and everything came out as we expected. She brought us condiments and checked in on us and also gave my brother a refill on his iced tea. Our visit to Norm's today was great because of the food and friendly service as always. read more

Loved Kristina & the Alfredo . Good service and she was very kind, you'd be lucky to have her as your server.

Food and staff needs to improve alot!!!! We have been to this norms plenty of times but the last 2 times we been there the server gets out orders wrong, the pancake had a piece of paper inside which my husband actually chew on. The side of fries where cold and it looked like it was kids portion. Not only that but our food was a bit cold too.. I wouldn't recommend unless they step up their food amd staff read more

Been coming here since I was a kid, never again. A waiter Raphael has been working there for 20+ years refused to give me the right change on an order they messed up on. Even when I corrected him, he just gave me his best guestimate instead of following what was on the receipt shorting me a few bucks. Completely dishonest and unprofessional. Called back to speak with the manager and Raphael came back on the line. No wonder this place is so awful, lacks leadership. Avoid this location if at all possible. read more

I took my son here for breakfast and the place is always packed. What I like about this place is that the food is so good and the price is just a little more than fastfood chains and a lot less than many other restaurants. They now dont substitute egg with other side order which is pretty disappointing since they're charging same price if you skip the eggs in your meal. What if someone is allergic to eggs then what?! Anyway, that's just my little pet peeve. Good thing our server asked the manager if she could give us fruits instead of eggs since my son doesn't like eggs. Overall I'd say I always like coming here except for that change that they made. read more

Ended up here as a last resort for something to eat after going out. As nothing else was open or starting to close. First off, it was busy as it was probably the only place for late night meal beside Denny's. The staff was kind of all over the place so we seated ourself. It took a while for someone to actually come over to talk to us. The waiter, he was nice. But could tell he was kind of flustered and busy. It was the mad after-hour rush. He took our order. Basic order, steak and eggs and an appetizer platter. Time wise, it took a while but not crazy long. When the food came, steak looked ok. Fries was cold. Probably made a while ago in big batches and sat waiting to be served. But on the other hand, appetizer platter looked good. Carbs galore but that's what you crave after a night out. Looks can be deceiving. Everything was like warm or cold. It was like they made the batches of mozzarella sticks, chicken strips, onion rings and fried shrimp ahead of time and left it there in batches until someone ordered. And then just grab it and plated it. The cheese wasn't even warm. At that point, when your hungry you just eat it. From what I experienced, I'm sure it's probably better to order a meal that needed to be prepared when order, ie egg dishes, etc. I'm wouldn't ruled this place off but just the experienced last night was unsatisfying. I'm sure breakfast would have been much better. read more

Usually I wouldn't rate a norms, not that they're not good but because you know what you're getting when you come here. The reason for this review was for it fantastic server Jamil M. He went above and beyond to provide stellar service. My party was never in need of anything and his hospitality is one I wish all servers would have. I would come back to this norms just to experience his service again. FYI if you're unvaxed be prepared to sit outside. read more

We ordered breakfast delivery on a Wednesday: pancakes, bacon, ham, sausage links, bacon, tater tots, scrambled eggs, sourdough toast, and biscuits & gravy. Nothing was good; most of it was inedible. Every item was cold and soggy. The biscuits were mushy, having come smothered in the gravy, rather than in separate containers. Delivery, packaging, and presentation aside, the food was gross. The meat, the tots, the gravy- each item tasted either flavourless or rancid. I literally spit out bites of food. We didn't finish anything - most of what we ordered went into the trash. What a disgusting, disappointing delivery. I wouldn't eat food from any Norms if I were paid to do it. read more

A Southern California favorite, good food prepared by and served by staff that insure you are satisfied. This restaurant was extremely busy when I visited by the service staff made sure no was neglected and my order of ham and eggs arrive hot and tasty. One suggestion I have for the serving staff when using the PA system, use you normal speaking voice, it is not necessary to yell into the microphone. That was the only negative to this visit. read more

5/5, thanks to Kristina! From seating us to our table to receiving our bill, Kristina was wonderful. Her cheerful demeanor and excellent service made our dinner an enjoyable experience. We've become recent regulars at our local Norms because the food is consistently fantastic and the service is outstanding. Tonight in particular, Kristina was attentive to our party, very charming and fun, but also helpful with our orders, selections and fast service. She's just great and knows how to make people feel special. The hostess, Jenna, is super friendly. She already knows us by name and greets us with a smile. Our meals were delicious, too. The portions are generous, tasty and served quickly. The steak did not disappoint. The bigger better breakfast is great all day. Don't forget dessert, we recommend the tapioca! The retro California design of the restaurant is classic, and while that was always easy to admire from outside, the vibe inside is even cooler. We can't believe it took us so long to get to Norms, but for sure, we will be back! Thanks, Norms! read more

Kristina was amazing! For a busy day, she was super happy and did a wonderful job. The food was good overall, and I'm happy with how the restaurant looked. Music was just loud enough too. read more

This location is crazy busy all the time! Even though the waiting area is crazy huge with plenty of seats for everyone...the wait goes by fast. The service is prompt with a smile. The only downfall was no vanilla flavored creamer for your coffee. The kids preferred the waffles at IHOP but everything was pretty good considering the price and how much food you get. Would we come back..more than likely for breakfast or brunch only though. read more

This place is a disaster. I've been here a few times. First time I came I sat at the counter and people walked past me back and forth and finally I was told it would be a while since I got service at the counter because they don't have a server. A nice waitress said, it's ok, I'll serve you. She was awesome and if I could give her 5 stars alone I would, but there's far too much to consider to rate the place on her alone. The grilled chicken I ordered was tough. And while my waitress was great, she clocked off and then it was impossible to get service, even to get the check. Mind you, I'm at the counter. Second time I came I had a better experience, with a great waitress at the counter. But they ran out of Mash. No big deal. BTW, the onion rings there are really good, I'll give them that. Third time I came I sat at the counter again and the waiters and waitresses went one way and another, and not one asked me if I needed a menu or wanted to order After 10 minutes of waiting, I just walked out! Besides I was already bored of the menu with not enough healthier options, and wasn't in the mood to give in to fried food. The next time I came in I sat at the counter and was told there was NO SERVICE at the counter! How could there be no service up front at the counter...so lame. I said I would be seated then, but was told there was a list...I saw a ton of people waiting on the side. So I just left again. To not offer quick service for individuals to sit up at the counter is pretty inexcusable to me. I'm one guy, you walk back and forth behind this counter a million times, just serve me! Lastly, I don't mind the staff having a fun attitude but I saw too much talking to each other and looking at phones and not enough paying attention to actual customers. It's a pain just to get your check and pay at this place. I don't think I'll be coming back...Denny's down the block has much better service and food, actually. read more

Going through a passing of a loved one went to breakfast with my daughter trying to cheer her up . We went to norms . When I first arrived several employees walked past us several times no acknowledgement. An "I'll be right w you " goes far w me. We got seated it wasn't long . Now our drinks were taken to us. We placed our order and like 3 bites in to it there was a hair in my food . I was a little grossed out I started looking to see when our waitress when my daughter was half way through one of her eggs. Yeah! There's was a hair nicely cooked in her egg. I waited till waitress came back , I showed her she apologized and remade both plates. We waited plates came in my hash browns were barely warm and when I'm almost done w one egg , bingo another male hair I'm assuming. I asked for check she came w it and said if I wanted a hash brown or something of that sort she mentioned 2 items , As an option. I declined and pointed to my plate , I said what's going on and she said "again?" I smiled , I ate that one egg , my plate had 80% of the food to be fair. she said "hold on". I start walking to cashier and she meets me at the register manager comes out. (I'm so lucky ! they gave me ? 20% off ) I said nothing and walked out , honestly I forgot to tip waitress, I was so distraught of our loss , grossed out ! Anyway I feel bad because she wasn't a bad server . I don't know what happened with the cook/kitchen. I don't think I'll be back soon .... P.S I'll leave a 2 just because it was not the waitress fault . read more
