We had a late night, after theater dinner. We made reservations so no long waiting needed. The restaurant was tastefully decorated with kitchenware and bottles of wine. Tables were setup as for 2 -4, but can be combined for larger groups. They also have outdoor seating. The wait staff were very polite and helpful. They made recommendations of several chef's regional related foods. Each dish we had was better than the last. The pizza was an excellent brick oven pizza. Had a fun time and would definitely come back!
I'm typically suspicious of restaurants near Times Square and their quality compared to their price. However, this restaurant is the real deal! The food is absolutely extraordinary. Great pasta, amazing pizza, super quick and easy service too. I want to come back here every time I'm in New York!
We stopped by on a saturday evening and the place was packed but we were able to get a table outside without waiting for too long. For apps we started with the veal meatballs and burrata. I only had the meatballs, which was covered in a nice tomato sauce but the texture of the meatballs was a little bit too gritty for me. They also serve bread with the apps, which might have been my favorite part. It was warm and had a nice crust. For entrees we had the mushroom linguine, silician trapenese pasta Norma Pizza and Diavolo pizza. The silician pasta was a fun shape i hadn't seen before and I really enjoyed the pesto sauce. The Pizza's had a nice crust but were a little soggy towards the center from the toppings, but still really good. Overall a nice sicilian meal.
Norma is down the street from my place and it's a great break from all the $1.50 slices on 9th Ave. The pies are delicious, different types of pizzas to choose from. The service is always great at Norma's. They sat us very quickly even though I showed up with a big group unannounced. They brought out a cute little candle for our table to set the setting as the night went on and it got darker outside. My glass was never empty, they were very prompt. Highly recommend Norma!
Deliciousness. We ordered the Pizza Margherita and Pizza Norma. Amazing crust. Amazing tomato sauce. Amazing cheese. Amazing flavors. It was a to-go order so I bet it's even better in person. (Lowkey it was a little colder because we picked it up a little late but it was still so good.) I'm looking forward to trying more on the menu. I will be back.
Had a rare instance of phone not eating first! Couldn't help myself with the delicious pizza. Came here on Fourth of July and this place never disappoints - holidays and any normal day! It was absolutely poppin in there and lively - we were so glad we got a walk in spot. We got our food exceptionally fast - done just in time for fireworks!

The young lady that seated us was terrific and Jordie (sp?) the manager went out of his way to give us the table we requestedMinus one star for the pork loin dish ordered by one of our party. It was pretty tough and too dry, but the Arancini apps and all the other entrees were fresh and delicious. You can taste the quality of the ingredients and the care of the chef and staff. We will be back soon. Highly recommended.
I have tried their entire Pizza menu, and I am glad I did. When you first walk up to their beautiful storefront, you are met with hordes of customers waiting to get seated. They mean business. I am also certain that all their ingredients and their entire staff are imported from Italy. What also shocked me was that at the entrance of the door, you can clearly see a butcher in the kitchen slicing fresh prosciutto and pomodoro ham! Holy. Again, I've tried their entire pizza menu, so my review can only attest to how good their pizzas are. Keep in mind, this is Neapolitan-style pizza. My first couple of pies from them were not knocking my socks off my feet, so I am extremely glad I tried more to fully opine here. They have an extensive pizza menu, but I found that the classic and simple pizzas were the best. Most of their pies are good, but their best pies were the Funghi & Porchetta, Prosciutto & Rucola, Diavola, or a classic Margherita. A lot of their other pies were okay. It was the overwhelming amount of toppings and ingredients. At times, I forgot I was eating a pizza and mistakenly thought I was eating a sandwich. Overall, this is a solid joint for delicious Neapolitan-style pizza. Their dine-in option is amazing, too. The atmosphere and decor are very romantic. This is perfect for a date night. However, if I ever walk by here by chance and they are not too busy, I am definitely ordering a pie every chance I get.
I was in NYC for the marathon and went to Norma for the obligatory carb-load the night before the race. We walked up with no reservations, and the host was incredibly attentive, making sure we were seated in a good spot since we were dining with our 7-month-old daughter. To start, we ordered the whipped ricotta with honey, and it was simply perfection--the honey and ricotta paired beautifully on crispy bread. We then shared the Busiate al Pesto Trapanese and the Lasagna Palermitana. The lasagna was great, but the Busiate al Pesto Trapanese was the standout. The pasta was cooked perfectly, and the pesto tasted fresh and vibrant. It was light enough to enjoy anytime, never heavy. I'd definitely recommend Norma any day, but especially the night before a race--the carb-load was an absolute delight.
Food always hits here! We tried the whipped ricotta which was lovely. Service was very kind and attentive and ambiance was chill for a Sunday brunch.
I generally like Sicilian food a lot and have been to Norma a few times. Overall, I think it's a nice restaurant with a good selection of pizzas and pastas. I prefer the pastas over the pizzas, because I have found the pizzas to be a bit too soggy/wet and the exterior crust to be too prominent. The crust itself has a nice, light texture, but there's too much of it, and every version of pizza I've had here has been soggy in the middle. The pastas are better executed, in my opinion, and I especially like their pistachio pesto (although I don't necessarily think the pastas are worth $30/plate). The service has always been decent--nothing exceptional, but never bad. It's not a place that's ever been truly memorable for me, but I like it enough to come back from time to time when I'm in the area.
Came here for lunch right before a ballet show at the met opera. Ambiance was very cutesy and cozy-- the outside area would've been perfect for a breezy summer night and a glass of wine. Service was super friendly and good. - Pasta alla norma: 100/10 (looooved this pasta so much! It was a tomato-based pasta with eggplant and the eggplant was cooked well, the pasta was cooked to perfection, and the sauce was flavorful. The sauce was a bit on the saltier side though) - Busiate al pesto Trapanese: 9/10 (this was a really garlicky and yummy pastas! The pasta itself was a little overcooked in my opinion, but it might be that that's the way you do this type of pasta) Overall, an amazing lunch/dinner choice if you're craving some pasta or pizza in the Hell's Kitchen area/before a show!
I have been in search for the best open Woodfire Pizza and this is definitely one of the better ones. The margarita has an extra tang of cheese on it and more sauce than competitors. It's actually very delicious. The pepperoni is slightly spicy and they do not shy away on toppings. I ordered delivery using a third-party app and the food came hot and delicious!
Stopped at Norma for a quick dinner and it was delicious! The food was 10/10 packed with flavor, fresh ingredients and a good portion. They also offer many selections of wine and they also recommend which wine goes best for each meal, which was really nice. The location is great. Just know that it gets very busy and I recommend having reservations. read more
Came for dinner on a weeknight with a group. Overall thought the food was decent but nothing special. Tried the Busiate Al pesto trapanese, crocchette di patate, veal meatballs, trenette Al pomodoro, Pizza mortadella and Pizza Norma. Potato croquettes and pomodoro pasta were the highlights. I prefer Trattoria Trecolori for pasta or See No Evil for pizza nearby. 3.5 stars. read more

Wow! this was a great find in NY. There's indoor as well as outdoor seating. We sat outside as it was a pleasant evening. The waiter was friendly and efficient given that we were seated outside. he checked in on us periodically and at appropriate times. We didn't feel neglected at all. We had the brushcetta classica - was ok. The tomatoes were fresh and tasted good. For our entrees we had the Lasagna Palermitana - OMG - this was soooo good. The pasta layers melted in your mouth and the sauce was mama mia good! Also had the Gnocchi al ragu Bolognese - also delicious. Great flavor and you can tell it was freshly made pasta not the dried pasta. Portions were pretty good. We passed on dessert as we were rather full. Definitely recommend this place if you are in the area. read more
Norma is an anomaly in midtown: Not overpriced, yet the food is really high quality. Here you'll find great fresh regional ingredients treated with the utmost respect and served with pride. It's hard enough to find that in midtown, but to find it at fair prices around here makes Norma a standout. We've been here many times. Pastas are all great, including the simplest ones. Pizzas are all great. Baked pastas are creative and rich. Salads are good enough. It would be nice if they had some green vegetables on the menu but you won't find them here. That's my biggest beef. read more
I love people watching outside when the weather gets warmer here. It's the perfect lively restaurant and location for a quick bite or a nice iced drink. The servers are knowledgeable and attentive, so even if you sit outside you don't need to worry about being forgotten. The restaurant also offers a lot of gluten free replacements to both pizza and pasta!! I really like their caprese and pantesca salads too, and their pasta pomodoro was light and refreshing. read more

Super delicious Sicilian Italian food. Lots of fresh bread and olive oil to start. Got the arugula, pear and candied walnut salad to start. I got the sword fish pasta which had delicious eggplant and pine nuts, and my partner and son shared the spaghetti and meatballs. No room for dessert. Great local restaurant for date nights, groups and families. It can get a little loud but that's part of the vibe :) read more
A rare 5 star from me on an initial experience. Went after a matinee today. Fortunately before others eventually showed up. Excellent service from walking in the door all the way through finishing the meal. Authentic rustic Italian style food. Very warm decor and intimate space. We were visiting and taken here for dinner. We sat outside at a table just when things were starting to get busy. We ordered: Rucola e Parmigiano salad Busiate al pesto Trapanese Gnocchi al ragu Bolognese Margherita pizza The salad was nice with sliced pear and big pieces of shaved cheese. I also enjoyed the caramelized walnuts. The pesto was a little different than I'm used maybe because it had almonds and tomatoes, but I liked it. The bolognese sauce was meaty and hearty tasting vs the simpler gnocchi which was a good contrast. The pizza was good with a chewy crust. If you're looking for a crispy crust you might be disappointed. We all shared the dishes which is what I would recommend for variety. Service was good at the beginning then got a little spotty as they got busier which is understandable. Nice local neighborhood place to get Sicilian food. read more

They were able to accommodate our party of 9 last minute for a Sunday dinner and took such great care of us! My son is gluten free and they were able to make him a pasta to accommodate his dietary needs. The portions were generous and the food was absolutely delicious. You can tell they put a lot of love into their food. read more
What a beautiful spot. When you walk in, it's like you've been transported to Italy. Very quaint and well decorated. We came early so it wasn't crowded yet and sat up front. Food was delicious. We had Pizza Margherita, lasagna, spaghetti, salad, fresh bread and wine. The patio was cute too but it was raining. Service was friendly and kind. I recommend checking this place out! read more
The service here was lovely, and on a weekday night, I was able to get here early enough to grab a table for our group. We only had to wait about 10 minutes, lucky because the restaurant certainly looked busy. The tables around us were all filled, but the restaurant felt cozy. There was complementary bread. The Busiate al pesto Trapanese pasta was good but didn't stand out to me as much as the Nerro di seppia arancine. Maybe because three of us split the arancine, but I was left wanting more. The size was very small for the price, but I loved the flavor -- especially paired with the sauce. The Cassatella con Ricotta was another star of the show. It tasted like a funnel cake and a cannoli had a baby. read more

Great place to go to! Went here with co workers for a quick lunch and was not disappointed. The food was great and there were huge portions. We sat in the back of the restaurant that had a nice enclosed area and is great for larger groups. Service was also great and we felt well taken care of throughout our meal. read more

I don't think I've had a better lasagna. fumo had almost a two hour long wait, so my friends and I decided to try this place in the LES. despite not having the appetizers that we wanted, we were all so happy with our dishes. they had pretty unique menu items that you wouldn't be able to find at simpler places, so I love how extensive their menu is. restaurant is extremely dim, but gave such cozy vibes. they had large booths for people to sit in, so it gave a very comfortable atmosphere. read more
Authentic Sicilian spot. I went here to try the pasta con sarde but they could not remove the pine nuts (allergy) but the server recommended the pasta with swordfish and eggplant which was excellent. Also tried the rice ball, stuffed artichoke and the pizza napoletana which was also excellent. Service was friendly and prices reasonable. read more
came on a wednesday evening to get together with some of my mentees and have dinner / catch up. i have been dying to try this place as everyone has raved about the authenticity and origins being sicily we started with the fried potato appetizer which was perfectly savory in every day i thoroughly enjoyed this. i shared a bunch of different pastas and really enjoyed them all! not really a chocolate person but my friends cleaned the plate for the flourless chocolate cake dessert overall experience was great beginning to end. staff was helpful and on top of giving water refills. would recommend and come back read more
This was some of the best Italian food I've had in NYC in a long time. You could taste how fresh and homemade everything was. They don't take reservations, but we got lucky on a weeknight and walked right in for a table for two. I had the Busiate al pesto Trapanese, which was incredible with so much garlic and flavor. We also shared the pizza cotto e funghi, which was excellent. The service was great, and we really loved the old-school style of the dining room. Definitely a good option if you want something a little more upscale without being overly formal. read more

This place is really really good. Authentic Sicilian dishes. I sat next to two people from Sicily that come there to get the pasta con sarde. I come every year in Saint Joseph's day to get the pasta con Sarde. I love this place. read more

Our visit to Normas was a great experience. We arrived about 10 minutes before noon, and despite the restaurant not yet being open, the staff let us in to escape the cold. The restaurant itself is charming, with cute decor that creates a cozy, inviting atmosphere. The bathrooms were clean, which I have found this weekend in NYC, is not something you should take for granted. Our server was very friendly. We shared a few dishes: the Gorgonzola salad, which was absolutely delicious and a standout; the Ragu rice ball, which was very good; and a pizza topped with prosciutto and Parmesan. The pizza had a thicker crust, which isn't our personal preference, but it was still tasty and well-prepared. One negative is that they don't except reservation but overall, I'd highly recommend it. read more

Is it quiet enoough for conversation?
I feel it easy for conversation. Wasn't that bad for me (hearing challenges) But we were seated in the back at a table for two. A large party was across from us and it didn't dissuade us from hearing or talking to each other.
