If you love the Din Tai Fung Cucumber salad, you're going to love Noodle St's cucumber salad even more! The cucumber salad here has a generous portion to share for a whole table. It's authentically smashed cucumbers with the perfect amount of garlic, salt, sourness, and sweet flavor. If you're tired of waiting in line for DTF across the hall, I'd recommend choosing this place as a plan b because they serve their beef noodle soup super fast and it will leave you satisfied. The service was really nice! I was treating my friend out for her birthday and she tried to pay!!! But luckily our server knew to hand me the bill since I told him it was my friends birthday. I was struggling to get my wallet out of the bag, but he waited for me while my friend and I were fighting over the bill. First time trying noodle st! I got their signature beef noodle soup, beef rolls, cucumber salad, spicy chicken wontons, and lamb skewers. The signature beef noodle soup tasted clean and is definitely something I see myself eating when I'm sick. We were also able to select the type of noodles we wanted in our soup. The beef rolls and spicy chicken wontons were my favorite. The beef rolls had a nice crisp to it and the wontons were flavorful without being too spicy. Lamb skewers and cucumber salad was okay! No complaints. I would be fine with or without it. Service was great, and they were really attentive! I would dine here again, but I wouldn't wait more than 30 mins. read more

You can never go wrong with Noodle St! If you're in the market for some comforting foods, this is always a solid option. I've frequented a number of their other locations and my top picks are their Spicy Beef Noodle Soup and Beef Roll Pancake. On this particular visit, I wanted to try something new and opted for the Egg with Tomato Noodle. An interesting twist on the classic Chinese Tomato Egg Stir-Fry dish which is a personal favorite! It's exactly what it sounds like featuring eggs, tomatoes, green onions, and knife cut noodles. For about a solid 5 bites, I thought it was ah-mazing! Then, the sweetness started to kick in and made it a bit hard to finish the entire thing (their portions are rather generous). Tomato egg generally sits on a spectrum of sweet to savory/salty and however you prefer it is entirely up to personal preference. While this dish was yummy, there wasn't any component to help cut the sweetness. For context: The classic Chinese Tomato Egg Stir-Fry version of this dish is usually eaten with white rice. Wouldn't particularly recommend this dish if you're not a fan of sweeter foods. This location sits within The Shops at Santa Anita and can get super busy during the weekends and peak meal times. It's also right next to Din Tai Fung which drives them a ton of extra traffic. Try to visit during an off time or be prepared to wait a while. read more

Uncle tetsu is next door. There's a viewing window to watch these mesmerizing knife cut noodles splash into the heated cauldrons of water. The service and food started off on a slow start but once the steamers started steaming, all was well. I've never had tofu as small and perfectly square as these rubix cube square tofu's. They were really crispy and needed a swim in that sauce to keep the earth spinning properly. The noodles had a good chewy bite to them but definitely add those table seasonings to spice things up. Broth had a subtle flavor. I wasn't a big fan of the kimchi rice. It was a bit overpowering with something other than kimchi. The scallion pancakes were good, as expected. There's an iPad kiosk next to the register. This is where you join the waitlist. The wait was about 25 min on a Saturday around 8pm. Restaurants are pretty busy at this mall so make reservations in advance if possible. If not, get comfortable and bring a book lol. read more

I hadn't been to the Santa Anita mall in about 20 years but met up with some friends here for dinner. I was apprehensive about the food choices we would find since most malls across the country have one foot in the grave and the other in a banana peel, but that is certainly NOT the case here! This mall was bustling and busy without a vacant store front to be found. There were so many different options of places to eat that we walked around the mall TWICE before settling on Noodle St. We waited about a half hour for a table and I'm so glad we did. Everything we ordered was delicious. They have different types of hand pulled noodles. There's seriously so many options I can't wait to return to try more of their menu items. The food here is top notch and the prices very fair. The service while not the friendliest or most efficient was fast. We ordered the original clear noodles and the broth was super rich, warm and really feels like it's 'cleansing' the soul, living up to its name. Got normal noodle texture, very authentic, perfect serving portion for one person, beef is kind of on the lower amount side, but it was really good Lamb skewer mild spiciness was actually pretty spicy, very true to name in spicy level, came kind of cold for us, very chewy texture. Enjoyed a Friday afternoon lunch here, and it was very enjoyable. Ordered the cucumber salad appetizer, beef pancake roll, and the standard beef noodle bowl. The cucumber is your jam if you love garlic, the noodles and flavor were on point, and the roll was fun to try (onions galore). I would've liked to taste more of the sweet sauce that was in it. Came to Noodle St. for dinner a couple weekends ago for dinner with my husband. We put ourselves on the Yelp waitlist and walked around the mall since the wait was extra long. On our way back to the restaurant, I actually got a phone call that our table was ready so it was perfect timing (about 35-45 min. wait). We got a few dishes to try & share: -Cucumber Salad, was light and good. I do wish their marinade sauce mixture was more abundant, but I made a bit extra on my own plate with the vinegar and chili oil provided at each table. -Beef Stuffed Pancakes, careful there's juice inside. Flavor was good (think of Chinese beef pie), but the wrapping style isn't my favorite. -Noodles with Minced Beef Sauce, this wasn't what I was expecting and though I love hand-pulled noodles, the noodles did get all tangled after mixing all the components of the dish and wasn't the easiest to eat & grab to share. -Spicy Beef Noodle, this was actually pretty good! It does have a slight kick after a while and I loved that they already include some Chinese sauerkraut or pickled veg in it. This place is a great place for noodles! I had the Bone-in rib noodle soup, with knife cut noodles. And it was delicious. My bowl came with 2 decent sized ribs with an ample amount of meat. The beef was tender and peeled right off the bone. The broth was clear but full of flavor. The noodles were soft and chewy. Having knife cut noodles. meant the thickness of each noodle varied as it was cut by hand with soft serrated edges showing where the dough was cut by the knife. I felt it made the dish more authentic and handcrafted. The wait staff was excellent. They explained the dishes we had in question, and were patient as we looked over the menu. We waited a small amount of time as their dining area isn't that large, however, they're able to maximize their space with just enough room for the servers to walk in between the tables. I would recommend this place if you're craving noodles in soup. I would definitely come back to this place and try their other noodles in different soups. read more

Phenomenal! What a jewel! After eating next door at Din Tai Fung, I had space in my stomache for more... Service at the front was barren but decent. I ordered the cold noodle dish for 12$ and it took 1 to 2 minutes for my take out order, wtf? That is unheard of. The dish itself was amazing. The cold noodles were thick like udon but had a mochi like texture when eating it. The sauce was sour, salty and spicy. It had a distinct sweet and sour taste to it. It mixed with chives and passion made this dish worth the 12$. It was an appetizer but I remember being here 7 or 8 years ago and had their yakisoba, or in other words noodle stir fry and remembered it was just as good. This was before I even started yelping. The ambiance was great and it is next to "uncle tetsu" in this enormous mall. The mall itself is amazing with its store selection, but the food selection in this mall is extraordinary. The noodles were soft, delicious and had a wonderful bite. It was very salty though. Probably had more sodium that ramen broth at jinya or maruchan, but boy was it delicious. I bought this cold noodle dish because it certainly caught my eye. I saw their menu and thought this meal looked the best and the pictures made me want to taste it. A woman said it was too salty and I was hesitant at first to try it, but came to my senses and just went on to buy it. Boy was I lucky I tried it. Woo hoo! First visit but already a big fan of Noodle Street! They are right next door to the Din Tai Fung in the Santa Anita Mall and while the Yelp wait list may look long, they are fast with the food and turn tables over pretty quickly. Be sure to join the wait list from the Yelp app. I also like that the kitchen is 'open' so you can see the fresh noodles being made and your food being cooked. We tried the green onion pancakes which were thin, crunchy and not oily. The spicy beef noodles with standard round noodles (you can choose from 4 options) at the mild spicy level as they have chilli oil at the table so you can make it spicier. The flavor of the soup was flavorful and beef pieces tender. And lastly, the beef roll pancakes which had a lot of cilantro and green onions. We really love this local restaurant. Usually we order takeout because our work schedules get in the way of sitting down together. The food is always very flavorful with several choices on the menu. My favorite is the braised chicken dish. Service is always excellent with a very helpful and welcoming staff. When we have eaten at the restaurant it's very comfortable and service is great. Plenty of parking in the plaza but it can get crowded with several establishments in this old town Monrovia area. Still worth it for sure. read more

Oh yeah a very affordable spot to eat at in this mall! My boyfriend and I wanted to eat something good, but we were not looking to hurt our wallets after spending a lot on an event nearby. The chopsticks were long, perfect for use in tackling the noodles we were about to slurp on! You can custom choose what noodle cut you would like (fun!); I got the triangle cut noodles and my boydriend got the flat noodles. I ordered the bone-in rib rice noodle soup. I was excited because the broths smelled so good. My boyfriend got the beef shank noodle soup and we both enjoyed slurping them down. The meat was tender and flavorful. It greatly enhanced the noodle soup. The broth was warm and hearty, but it wasn't super flavorful. I definitely feel like without the meat, it would be missing something. The fried calamari was breaded and fried so well that the crunchy exterior gave way to a nice chewy experience in chewing the squid. The lamb skewers were amazing!! The meat was so seasoned and tender. The meat cuts were thick on the sticks and each stick of meat was something to savor. I would have preferred the knife cut noodles with this though... the braised chicken was good but I would recommend the chicken noodle soup more. The wait wasn't long at all - maybe 20 minutes at most. Nordstrom is close by enough to hop over there and back quickly. We ordered the spicy beef noodle soup and beef rolls. I enjoyed both - the meat was high quality and so soft in the soup. I do wish they put a bit more noodles in the soup. Flavor was strong - a little more on the oily side (don't wear white like I did and splash on yourself). The beef rolls were also yummy! A little heavy on the cilantro/onions for me. Service was fab - they were attentive and brought what we requested over immediately! I also loved seeing the chefs working in the kitchen. 3.8 stars I think Noodle St has been on my list for a while, but never actually stopped by. So, I decided today was the day to try it! I only got one dish, the Braised Chicken Noodle dish ($14.80). Upon arriving at the table, the smell of bell pepper hit me first, followed by the savory smell of braised chicken. Presentation was nice and colorful. Portion is big enough for 2 people to share. The noodles were so savory and chewy! For the salt-sensitive people like me, I highly suggest removing the noodles before the broth soaks into the noodles. But for the salt-loving people, I recommend letting it soak because the flavor is wonderful! The chicken dish came with onions, bellpeppers, potatoes, woodear mushrooms and lean chicken. The chicken was good, but just a warning to keep the chicken pieces submerged so that they don't dry out! Bellpepper really did nothing for the dish...but I like bellpeppers, so the crunch was a welcome palate cleanser for me. I'm not a fan of woodear mushrooms, but these were so irresistably tender that I ate all of it! I enjoyed the potatoes and onions, but the star of the dish remains with the noodles, imho :) Definitely looking forward to trying their spicy beef noodles in the future. read more

YES! YES! YES! I have been meaning to try this place for a minute. I am glad I did as it was the best decision ever! The potato string shrimp were a little too starchy in my opinion, but they were flavorful nonetheless. The signature beef noodles is delicious. I ordered mine with flat noodles which is great. The beef that is in the soup is not tough or chewy like you would normally get in soups. It was tender and would fall apart almost like butter. My partner stirred the noodles with minced beef before I had a chance to take a picture. It is a dry noodle that does not have broth to it which I thought would make it difficult to stir together, but it was rather effortless. The garlic, carrots and minced beef coated each noodle with the a dressing that is rather difficult to describe but delicious to eat. The portions are rather large so if you do go in a group I would suggest sampling different types of dishes. It is right next to Din Tai Fung and space for this particular restaurant is limited. The employees do try to accommodate bigger parties, but it would be recommended for date night or a party of 6 or fewer. The waitlist for this restaurant is through the OpenTable app which makes it easier to add your name while on your way or to even see how long the wait may be once you arrive. The employees are friendly and consistently checking in to make sure that you are seen and well taken care of. 10/10 recommend and will go back again and again. read more
