Cute spot next to DTF/ by Nordstrom's in the mall. Service was very attentive and it wasn't crowded at all around 5pm on a weekday. We ordered the spicy beef noodle soup with triangle noodles and a beef roll. For drinks we got the watermelon juice and the passion fruit GT. The soup was very flavorful with a slight kick and not overly oily either. Would def return for this dish and maybe even opt for their hand pulled noodle. The triangular noodle was nice and chewy. The beef roll was surprisingly refreshing because of all the cilantro and green onions in the roll! The roll was also very crunchy, and not too chewy/difficult to bite and tear like some rolls I've had. The drinks were def well made and worth the price IMO. They make the knife noodles by hand. The Qinghai Clear Cold Noodle is the absolute best- it's like mochi noodles (if you like it like that). I have had cravings for this cold noodle since I tried this. The Spicy Been Noodle soup, stir fry noodles, pork bone noodles and egg with tomato noodles are all excellent as well. Love this place. I went here first with my mom and then recommended coming here for dinner again with a friend! Both times I got the Qinghai clear cut noodles and beef roll pancakes to share and they're still a favourite! The beef roll pancakes don't feel too heavy with all the herbs and green onion inside, but beware if you're not a fan because there's so much of it stuffed in! As for the appetiser cold noodles, they were good but I think the noodles weren't as good the second time coming around. I also wish that I could have had the option to ask for knife cut noodles for it instead. I think the texture of those noodles would have been better. Their food is not FRESH!! We ordered the braised chicken with rice and it gave me a terrine food poisoning. The potato was sour and the chickens texture tasted soggy. I didn't think much and finished half of plate. When I went home, I was nauseous and vomited and had chills for the whole night. I couldn't go into work the next day. I ordered from Doordash here and let me be the first to say that their knife-cut noodles were an absolute joke. I'm looking at all the other locations and seeing what the noodles look like, and my noodles literally looked like someone blindfolded the chef and had him hack away at the dough. The noodles were EXTREMELY undercooked (as in, I had to take the noodles out and cook them myself for at least 3-4 minutes before they stopped tasting like dough) and so incredibly chewy that the dough stuck to the roof of my mouth. Our table was right in front of the kitchen so technically we had dinner and a show. I love to see the process. Making noodles is truly an art form. I had the Spicy Beef Noodle Soup with homemade knife cut noodles. This soup is life changing! It has just the right amount of spice, the chunks of beef break apart so easily and the noodles are just so thick and chewy. I was so impressed I literally had to stop and tell each staff member how delicious the food was. At one point I had the opportunity to meet the manager (Emma). She is a total sweetheart! I had to confess that their beef noodle soup is 100 times better than Din Tai Fung ! My friend ordered the Signature Beef Noodle Soup. She also loved her soup and said the broth was to perfection. We also tried the Beef Roll Pancakes. The crunchiness of the pancake, the sweetness of hoisin sauce, the tender pieces of thinly sliced beef, nicely wrapped and packed with fresh cilantro was beyond amazing. I recommend taking a bite of the Beef Pancake and having a sip of the spicy broth at the same time. It's a dynamic duo! We ended our meal with the Homemade Yogurt. I have honestly never had yogurt that was so light and refreshing. Emma said that they use an organic milk to make the yogurt. You can definitely taste the quality. After such a heavy meal the yogurt was the perfect way to end our dinner. If you are in the Santa Anita area, I highly recommend making a stop at Noodle St. The staff is super friendly and welcoming. What a solid option not only within Santa Anita Mall but right across from the Arboretum! Came here as a group of six following Lightscape at The Arboretum and timed our arrival with the Yelp waitlist (wait was quoted at 45-65 minutes). The noodles here are made on the premises and on the spot. The magic is viewable through glass windows and one can catch a first row seat to the action from almost any seat in the house. The food was generally good though one of the noodle dishes didn't make it out until all of the other food was finished, in spite of multiple reminders to the server. Pro tip! grab a macaron ice cream sandwich by the register on your way out for a very reasonable price of under $3! read more

Getting the food as takeout is definitely a different experience as the soup isn't piping hot to soften and separate the noodles. However, it was a nice and fresh dish. I had their most popular dish Beef Noodle Soup. You can choose from their list of different types of noodles to add; I opted for the Knife Cut noodles. When it comes to noodle soup, the most important thing in my opinion is the broth. If the broth is on-point, even if the ingredients are mediocre, the overall dish is good. If it's the other way around, the overall dish is lacking. After visiting this restaurant for the third time, I can confidently say their broth is consistently amazing and delicious. The noodles were good and chewy. The only downside to the dish is the very few radish and sliced meat. There was only 3-4 pieces of meat. For the price I would think that they would more generous of the ingredients added. I also got the potato string shrimp and cucumber salad; both were decent but not overly great and I would not order again. read more

Being right next to Din Tai Fung in a mall is an unexpected place to find such excellent cuisine, and the great part is, the wait time was still less than it's extremely popular neighbor! I've seen pics of their food, and its what pulled me in. Menu isn't really large but the most popular Asian dishes are on it, and prepared in the most delicious way possible. I had to try the minced beef dry noodle. It was excellent! I was only going to eat half and save the rest for later, but it was so good, it didn't let me! The beef pocket was an appetizer I've never tried or seen on a menu and man, was it amazing! Especially with the vinegar sauce! Since the mall is of Western influence, they provide you with forks along with their beautiful dark-colored wooden chopsticks. I did wait, but it wasn't long. Having them text you when the table is ready is better than holding a thing that will buzz because you know you will be on your phone while your waiting anyway. Parking is not too bad. The underground lot is more busy than the mall's Nordstrom lot. Its through that entrance so I recommend parking there. I saw at least 4 more things I have to try as soon as possible! The signature beef noodle soup was surprisingly spiced with what seems like Mala (Sechwan spice). Not as much meat or veggies as I personally like. Located in the Westfield Santa Anita mall, we decided to give Noodle St. a try since the dim sum place we originally planned to have lunch had an hour wait. The hostess was very friendly and told us it was about a 10 minute wait and gave us menus while we waited so we can get an idea on what to order. She answered some of our questions we had about the food. When we got seated at our table, the same hostess got our drinks and asked if we were ready to order, which we were. We started off with Beef Roll pancake as an appetizer, even though it was pretty filling. I can see why that was one of their popular items. The beef, green onion mixture and the sauce was so tasty to where we were thinking of ordering a 2nd one. For the main course, I got the noodles with minced beef sauce, which was like spaghetti without marinara sauce. The noodles were topped with a mixture of beef and garlic and spinach. Once mixed together, it tasted great and the combination of all the ingredients went well. My cousin got the spicy/beef noodle soup which he liked a lot and even finished the whole thing, which means a lot since he's pretty picky about food. His soup looked so good that I asked to sample some but unfortunately he didn't give me any. When we got the bill, we were a little surprised that it was less than what we expected for all the food that we got. The portions are also a good size for the price. The service was great too and we got the food pretty fast and all the workers we dealt with were very accommodating and friendly. My first impression was poor. The staff appeared to be lazy and badly trained. They lacked polish in general etiquette and manners. I had to approach and ask for a table after standing there waiting. I had to ask for the waiter to take our order and had to get up to ask for the bill. This place isn't big so it's easy to see when someone has their hand up. The people in the kitchen looked busy! They were cranking out food quickly. The food is very tasty! I little expensive but reasonable for the area. The wait staff is the only reason I had to subtract the two stars. I excitedly tried Noodle St. after seeing it highly recommended on YouTube, however this location left me a bit unsatisfied and disappointed. As for the service, it took quite a while for us to be seated despite being told to wait by the tables because we would be helped shortly. The staff forgot about us, and we had to ask to sit down. Even once seated, they forgot to set the table with menus and place settings so we had to ask for chopsticks and bowls. When they brought us these, it wasn't the correct amount for our party. We also had to try very hard multiple times to get the attention of staff to order and to pay. I had the chance to try the Beef Roll, Braised Chicken Noodles, and the Egg with Tomato Over Knife Cut Noodles. The beef roll was delicious, and I enjoyed the sauce for the tomato egg Noodles. However, my friends and I found that we were given a very small amount of actual noodles and they were hard and almost scrap-like rather than chewy. I do appreciate the large amount of chicken in the braised chicken noodles, but there were almost no noodles to be found! My table also ordered a "braised egg," but when we received it they gave us a tea egg which is different than what was advertised. We do like tea eggs, but I wish the menu was more accurate! Overall, I would say that Noodle St. tastes good enough to give it another shot, but I am disappointed in the quality of service and noodles. My coworker/buddy suggested that we should check this out and I'm glad he did. We tried both the Beef Noodle soup and the Beef Roll pancake. Guess what? They're both delicious. Oh man! This place is not first time visitor friendly. I tried asking questions about the menu and the service was rushed, and overall rude. I ordered the vegan soup, which tasted like water. It had no flavor what so ever. My partner ordered the chicken noodle soup and the broth lacked flavor for him as well. It was really disappointing. The fried tofu was the best thing we ordered and I would order that again if the service weren't so bad. At one point, one of the workers alerted the other staff to look at some people walking through the mall dressed in cosplay and they literally pointed and laughed. It was so rude.
