As good as it gets in Chico. Can't compare to the Sacramento Area, Bay Area, or Southern California Pho shops, but again this is Chico. Bowls could have been a little bigger. What would make the pho here better is to have an option to include tripe, tendon, and flank into the pho. Other than that the taste of the broth is very good. I'll go back if I'm really craving pho, but will try to get my pho fix in Sacramento or the Bay Area. I did notice that the Bahn Mi was priced at $5.50 which is really high when all the bahn mi I've ever eaten were under $4. Parking is not an issue, but it was a little difficult to get into the parking lot based on how it was situated. Not that big of a deal. Services wasn't bad, but at the same time was not great. Server/Owner seems to have paid more attention to her regular customer. read more

Was Amazing the first time they opened. Now it's just so so. Broth is rather watery and plain. I like the look of the place but the reason people go there is for food and service. Sadly those two things are lacking now. Servers don't really seem to know what they're doing. Example, no water until we started eating and I had to ask for it. I'm sure they've had to come with ways of staying open at this point. I'll go from time to time, just have low expectations and you won't be disappointed. read more

Eh. Before adding dipping sauce to the shrimp summer rolls, that have too many noodles, and adding hoisin and chili to the beef combo pho, the food is a little on the bland side. The Thai tea was pretty good though. Not too much cream, and not too sweet, with a decent selection of tea. I would hope they enhance their flavors and broth a little bit. Haven't been to a lot of Vietnamese places, but I'm all for trying new things! We went pretty early and they weren't busy at all. The waitress came by just enough to see that we had everything but not be annoying, and the chef even came out to say hello (though really, we had the chicken noodle soup and how hard can that be to make?). MISTAKE! Since I have yet to find decent Pho in Chico, I wasn't expecting much from this place, but I was expecting service - of which we hardly received. We were the only customers in the restaurant on a Friday for lunch and were seated by the front door. When we asked if we could sit in the back in one of the lovely booths, they refused as someone was sweeping in that area. I guess they don't clean their restaurant at night. Tried the pho and was not impressed. The broth had no flavor whatsoever and there were honestly 4-5 small pieces of meat. Just a bunch of noodles. We added lots of hoisin, soy sauce, and siracha in attempt to add flavor. The crispy pork rolls were good, but not good enough to save the meal. Probably the worst pho experience ever. Pho was super weak, little inspiration and the meat was not enough. A little steak and meatball cut in half. Also, the broth tasted like normal plain water. This a good noodle house ( let me preface it ) for Chico. Compared to Sac or SF it lacks a little authenticity. I think the owner is actually doing that on purpose to make it more accessible to more people. The Pho is good, and the crispy spring rolls are so good..much better than their description of egg roll on the menu. Much lighter and less greasy than a typical egg roll. I am glad to have the noodle house to satisfy my cravings until I get to Sacramento. The owner is very nice and friendly as is the rest of the staff. read more

The food here is very good. It's made with very fresh ingredients and delivers on flavor cravings. I had the bun with chicken, item "B1" on the menu. The included egg roll was delish and crispy. The rice noodles, chicken, greens, and sauce made for a very fresh combination. The included hot sauce was very hot and very flavorful. The restaurant is calming and clean. I do like the food but the owner is rude. Straight up she's a dragon lady who needs to figure out that a business that is customer based needs good customer service. One time she's nice, the next she's rude. I was in a while back and she didn't say jack to any of the customers that came in while I was there. Asked for something and it took her five or ten minutes to get something simple. I saw customers walking to different tables to get stuff they needed. The food's not good enough to draw me back to a place where I feel I'm a nuisance to the owner. There are plenty of other eateries in Chico to patronize. read more

YUMMMMMYYY! I am a HUGE fan of Banh Mi. I grew up eating it in Houston, TX so I've had a lot of different kinds. Their Grilled Pork Banh Mi ("French Bread Sandwich") is fantastic! It doesn't have the traditional daikon radish but they have pickled carrots & onions. The seasoning and flavoring of the pork is out of this world. It's so addicting. I wish they had more pickled veggies on there, but traditionally they do not put a lot on the sandwiches anyway. (Or that's what I know, I'm not Vietnamese or anything!) The bread is really yummy, too! It's not hard/stiff like a lot of the breads I've had before... it's crispy on the outside & soft on the inside... mmm. Plus I love the staff. ^__^ read more

I usually love this place, its our go to Pho spot when we drive out to Chico. We went last week and we were the first customers of the day. Our server sat us down and walked away without taking our drink orders, We waited a good 10 min before she came back. We ordered shrimp summer rolls, the C1 with chicken and the B2 with chicken and shrimp. We see the owner walk by and I think we caught her on an off day because my hubby asked for extra napkins and she told him they were on a bus cart on the other side of the restaurant and to go grab them. Ummm this is a sit down restaurant, not fast food. He got them himself..... Also, our server was no where to be found at this point, in fact She wasn't around most of the time we were there. The summer rolls were great as always and my hubby loved his food. Mine, not so much... The shrimp were very overdone like they were cooked the night before and reheated. The vermicelli was cold and soggy and just not good. I let one of the servers know and she asked if I wanted them to microwave it, ummm no, I don't want you to MICROWAVE my food. She said that it would be remade. The owner promptly came out with a huge attitude and almost confrontational and informed me that the noodles are room temperature and made fresh and that they don't freeze anything, I never once said anything about them being frozen. She then said she can warm up my dish but its supposed the be cold. I have had this GRILLED dish many times and it was always hot, not "room temperature" or cold. She brought it out to me and it was completely inedible. Im just glad I had the summer rolls.... Aside from them taking our order, bringing out our food and giving us our check, they never checked on us. We promptly got up, paid and left. Im not sure if Ill ever go back.... read more

So i have no clue why Pho C&C has better reviews. I have been o Pho C&C and I don't like it. Its too sweet doesn't taste like authentic pho. I am from San Jose where you have a million places to choose one and the Noodle House pho actually tasted like home. I have also been to Vietnam so this is the best in Vietnam. its clean the service was fast. read more

Vietnamese pho noodle soup...very tasty. The owner is very friendly, the wait staff is alright, the food is great for this area, but the soup is just ok relative to the Bay Area or even Sacramento. The best that you'll get up here. They just started serving Banh Mi sandwiches, the grilled pork one is hella good, even compared to places elsewhere - it's just hella more expensive, 6 bucks for a sandwich, where the same sandwich is 2.75 in major asian hubs. read more

Normally this place is great, but today it took over an hour to get our food and when I asked what was going on I was made to feel that the fact they were under staffed was my fault and got basic attitude from the wait staff. Not sure if that is why the phò didn't taste quite as good as it usually does. I will give them another chance. Probably a fluke but sort of ticked me off. read more

There is better pho to be had for sure, but not many have the yummy spring rolls with peanut sauce that these folks do. The staff are wonderful hosts, and quite often the owner comes out to greet us. We enjoy this place because it's in walking distance of our house and it's a great place for lunch. read more

Great service, and in my opinion, the best pho in town. I order to-go about 2 days a week and have never had a bad experience--even when ordering 20 minutes before closing. The staff are always friendly and helpful, and the restaurant is exceptionally clean. I'm a big fan of the broth in their shrimp pho and appreciate that the broth to noodle ratio is equal. All other places in town overdo it on the noodles. The chicken sando is awesome too. All around 5 stars. read more
