Overall, pretty good place for Vegans and meat eaters to find Pho in Chico! The staff at Noodle House is always great about helping Vegan and Vegetarians find options on the menu...and there are PLENTY of options. My favorite is the Tofu Noodle Soup, a Vegan Pho that is flavorful, hearty and HEALTHY! The noodles are always great, and you can choose to have fresh or fried tofu. I've been eating Vietnamesse for years, down in Sacramento, so I was pretty happy when Chico finally got a few restaurants. I live near Pho C & C so I go there ALL the time and I am very happy with the food and service I get there. I know the history - C & C are sisters/business partners... One sister left and opened her own business across town. So anyway, one day I happened to be near Noodle House and thought 'hey, I'll give the sister's restaurant a try' First of all - horrible location, what a crappy complex to try to get into! Anyway, I parked and went in... Smells funky & looks shabby. I ordered the Chicken Pho... Togo ( I didn't want to sit in the place any longer than necessary). The food was awful, Pho was bland (they didn't offer any chili paste) with rubbery cheap dark chunks of chicken and mushy noodles. Gross! 4.4 / 5 (Gets the bump to 5 stars because the owners are so damn friendly) Many people will say that there is better pho to be had out there, and I don't disagree with them. I've never been to Vietnam, I don't have any Vietnamese friends with moms who are great cooks, and I sure as hell have no idea how to make scrumptious Vietnamese soup myself. But the one thing I can say about Noodle House, is that it is easily the most consistant and cheap restaurant experiences one can have. What I love about the pho at Noodle House is that it's fantastically simple. They do a wonderful job of combining really tasty broth, yummy thin noodles and house sliced meats to give their customers a great product for 6 measly bucks. I often find myself disliking places where they put truckloads of cilanto and onions in their broth, where Noodle House takes the approach of letting you do that yourself so you can customize your soup to your exact liking (a little hoison, sriracha and soy sauce will set that little puppy off). Lean Steak Pho is the way to go, but I've had buddies who have said the combo is really good as well. I can not speak to the non-soup entrees on the menu as I have never orded them. However, I've been with plenty of people who decided to order chicken and rice rather than noodles, and I must admit that it didn't look all that impressive, but Noodle House is about the NOODLES! I would definitely categorize The Noodle House as Vietnamese Fusion. Thats what they call themselves & its the perfect name for their Vietnamese food. Its got great eggrolls & spring rolls, although there wasnt any lettuce to wrap the eggrolls. The Pho is your standard beef or chicken broth with your choice of meat. This restaurant is standard asian fare catered for the the locals. Vietnamese foodies will give harsher reviews, thats for sure. I, being one, actually like it here because the service isnt as bad as "authentic" Vietnamese service. read more

uuuuhhhh.... I was kinda bummed at this place :( I was up in Chico visiting my granny, I decided I wanted Pho. She had never had Vietnamese so she was excited to try it, and I was excited to eat Pho in Chico (finally!). I was dismayed when I discovered the broth was unflavorful, they skimped on the veggies, and they really gypped on the meat. I eat Pho alot (so much in fact that I actually learned to make it myself to cut the cost of restaurant fees!). I should have done that, made it myself for my granny and I. Now on the upside, my granny did end up ordering the Broiled Pork chop. The Pork-chop was very tender, full of flavor, and very yummy! The rice on the plate however, was too sticky and over done. The staff was friendly, the place was clean, but the food was not up to par. Unfortunately I will not be going back to Noodle House next time I go to Chico. read more

Pho broth is flavorless- tastes like salty water. The side of Veges that comes with the pho was dry and wilty, looked like it had been chopped and plated yesterday. Pho is a great remedy for a hangover, which makes Sunday my favorite day for pho. Unfortunately the noddle house is closed on Sunday's so looks like I'll still be nursing my chico hangovers with water and aspirine. On a serious note, the noodle house, the latest addition to the Chico pho scene is conveniently located near the park and downtown. The broth in the soup wasn't as meaty as a good pho broth can be but the flavors were very good. The noodles were ample as was the large bowl they were served in. Food- Food was awful. Pho had like 4 pieces of meat. My "Vietnamese sandwich" came out way after my pho did. When it did finally arrive, it was on a French roll (not baguette) toasted to the point where it was practically a crouton. The chicken was salty and the vegetables were flavorless. The appetizer egg rolls were straight up freezer food. Service- Also pretty bad. Didn't get offered refills. When the Vietnamese sandwich was lagging our server chose to ignore us instead of talking to us. Won't be coming back to this joint. There's a far better selection out there. read more

My last trip there, I ordered to go, and when I got home noticed that the noodles were overcooked leading them to get super mushy and break up in the pho. Not fun! The spring rolls I ordered on the side came with a peanut sauce that was chunky (but not from peanuts) and gelatinous...a very bizarre combination. I don't know if I can go back. read more

I can't believe this place is still opened when a good place like the one on 8th closed. The small meat ball pho for 7 dollars came with maybe 5 slurps of noodles in it. 10 if you do two noodles at a time. And the regular P3 I don't know what it is called did not have much more and it's about a dollar more. It is a lot of broth. Maybe that's how people get full. The veggies on the side were brown and wilted like they had been sitting out for a while. Broth was actually decent that's why they got the one star. I must say I was a huge Banh Mi fan before actually ever trying the sandwich.... I watch way too much Travel Channel & Food Network. This sandwich looked delicious on TV, thus I was pumped to find a place in Chico serving them up. 2 Vietnamese Chicken Sandwiches (BANH-Mi) and a glass of ice tea... aka the perfect lunch! i have been to various Vietnamese restaurants and this one is by far the worst! I ordered the grilled chicken with rice, a salad, and a spring roll. This is what I got: bland brown rice, dry chicken (not marinated or seasoned), a bowl of ICE BERG lettuce with four leafs of cilantro at the bottom (why at the bottom?! and how does this qualify as a salad?), and that was it. I paid $6.50 for the smallest plate I had ever seen served in a restaurant, finished my meal while trying to eat SLOWLY in seven minutes, and was still hungry after the fact. On top of that, the place smelled weird and the waitresses weren't really doing much to make for a better impression. My guest and I had to eat something an hour afterward, and we are SLENDER people. I was pissed off and will never go back there again! read more

I love Noodle House! I order tofu pho almost every visit and am never disappointed. The broth is consistently flavorful and rich, despite being a veggie broth. Reasonably priced at $8, I'm always full but not uncomfortably so. There has always been a good amount of veggies in the broth and on the side. The customer service here has always been stellar! In fact the owner lady has been awesome with accommodating my work schedule (I'm off at eight) and lets me pick up my call-in order a little after close when I need it ;) read more

Honestly I feel like this place is a bit of a rip off for the amount of pho that you get. The portions that I'm used to getting are almost twice the size of what you get here. On my second trip to this restaurant I ordered chicken over rice to go. The restaurant forgot or perhaps doesn't include a Hoisin Sauce they only include the fish sauce and Sriracha . I found this to be a serious food sin, as the chicken was dry and without flavor, the lack of Hoisin sauce made for a forgettable meal. The only reason I give this establishment two stars instead of one is the fact that my first visit went without issue for the most part. My first visit to this restaurant I ordered the Pho Beef brisket soup, the order was filled quickly, but it wasn't as good as some of the other Vietnamese places in town. I don't plan on returning to this restaurant any time soon. read more

went here on a monday for lunch and it was completely dead. i ordered the shrimp pho and my friend ordered a meatless pho. after our meals were dropped off (within 5 minutes, it was extremely fast), the server stopped coming to our table. i eventually flagged down another server to ask for a to go container, which is where i found the first black hair. i went up to the front, told them what i found, the girl apologized and got me a new container. i went back to my table to package up my leftovers, which is where i found the 2nd hair- wrapped around one of my shrimps. my friend was pouring her pho into the container and found a short black lint fabric in the bottom of her bowl. we went to the front to inform the workers what we found, and a lady who seemed like she was possibly the cook and/or owner, became defensive saying if we don't like what we have, we don't have to pay. we made it clear we were simply grossed out at finding multiple hairs throughout our food and to go containers. the lady proceeded to take our containers and dishes and said "if we don't like we don't pay"........ so i won't be returning there ever again lol read more

I used to love coming here, the food is fresh and tasty, but lately the service has been so poor I just don't think I will be coming back. Last time I was there it took 45 minutes to get our food, at least 15 minutes before our waitress even took our order, and they weren't even that busy. Great place overall. Took my friend here to try Pho for the first time and we love the service. It's different from the kind of Pho one would get in Southern California but it is good nonetheless. The Pho broth is fantastic, the service is great, and they serve the coldest water I have consumed thus far in Chico. The waitresses take a while with our checks but that's not the problem if we constantly get free refills of water. read more
