A small, family run ramen shop here in Chico. Of the three shops (Cocos, Momona, and Snow Man Ramen), this is by far the cheapest ramen in town. The ramen was just under $13 and I gotta say, for the price, it's pretty great. The Chashu has a good flavor. The broth is a standard pork broth; you could actually taste the pork, which is more than I can say for Momona's pork broth. The noodles were a little better than instant ramen noodles, nothing fancy. The egg white tasted fine, but they did hard boil the yolk, which was a bummer. Overall, the ramen was a 7 out of 10, which again is fantastic for that price. The server was a sweet lady who was quick with anything she did and friendly to talk to. Food was good, I should have started with the tonkatsu or miso ramen, but saw the black garlic tonkatsu and I couldn't resist. Hubs ordered egg rolls and gyoza. Egg rolls were ok, definitely crispy. Didn't realize they're vegetarian that might be why they were cabbage forward. Ramen noodles were delish. Black garlic flavor was a bit overwhelming so I didn't get to enjoy the umami of the broth. The only disappointing thing was that the egg wasn't a fermented soft boiled egg like it should be but was rather just half a hard boiled egg. Definitely add the chili oil, they didn't put too much and added a nice flavor. (If you want to control the portion and add it yourself you have to pay extra for that which is so dumb). It's not the best ramen but is good in a pinch. Reasonably priced unlike Momona. I went for extra noodle and it was a good amount. Wife had the Miso Ramen and it was salty but good. Incredible Service and Delicious Ramen! I had such an amazing experience at Snowman Ramen! My wife ordered us dinner through DoorDash, and when I went to pick it up, I mistakenly left with just one bowl of ramen. I only realized the mix-up when I got home. I called the restaurant to explain and asked if I could come back to pick up the other bowl. Not only were they super understanding, but they also went above and beyond by giving me an extra bowl of ramen for free! Their kindness and generosity truly made my day. The ramen was absolutely delicious, but their incredible service is what really stood out. This is the kind of place that genuinely cares about its customers. Snowman ramen was not good. It was worse than Coco's ramen which I also didn't care for. Just like Coco's ramen, snowman ramen was a poor Chinese facsimile of Japanese ramen. The predominant flavor was Chinese five spice. The noodles were serviceable, but the chashu tasted strongly of five spice which also made the broth taste predominantly of five spice. The broth was under seasoned and mostly tasteless even after adding soy sauce. The egg was not marinated and was hard boiled instead of a jammy yolk. The chashu was tender, but completely failed on taste. I will not be going back again. I have yet to find good ramen in Chico. Obviously YMMV, but if you are expecting Japanese ramen at either Snowman or Coco's you will be disappointed. I'm sorry to both restaurants for leaving such negative reviews, but they both missed the mark by a mile. I wish them good luck. read more

So good! This is the best ramen spot in Chico. The spicy tonkotsu had the perfect amount of spice. It is a really big portion and lots of pork meat. We also had the gyoza which was really good. It seemed like a combination of deep fried and pan fried. I never had it like that before. I think our waitress was the owner. She was so nice and attentive to all the tables. You can tell she has a great work ethic. Tbe guy at the front desk seemed like he was learning but he was trying really hard! Everything was great :) The decorations in here were so cute.
