Spicy Tonkotsu Ramen
Kyle D.

A small, family run ramen shop here in Chico. Of the three shops (Cocos, Momona, and Snow Man Ramen), this is by far the cheapest ramen in town. The ramen was just under $13 and I gotta say, for the price, it's pretty great. The Chashu has a good flavor. The broth is a standard pork broth; you could actually taste the pork, which is more than I can say for Momona's pork broth. The noodles were a little better than instant ramen noodles, nothing fancy. The egg white tasted fine, but they did hard boil the yolk, which was a bummer. Overall, the ramen was a 7 out of 10, which again is fantastic for that price. The server was a sweet lady who was quick with anything she did and friendly to talk to. Thank you guys so much!

The lady working there was super nice and made sure we received everything. Food was good, I should have started with the tonkatsu or miso ramen, but saw the black garlic tonkatsu and I couldn't resist. Hubs ordered egg rolls and gyoza. Egg rolls were ok, definitely crispy. Didn't realize they're vegetarian that might be why they were cabbage forward. Ramen noodles were delish. Black garlic flavor was a bit overwhelming so I didn't get to enjoy the umami of the broth. The chashu wasn't rolled, instead it was large slabs of pork belly and delish. I want to try this place again with the other broths.

My friend and I came here and we ordered the pork udon stir fry and the chicken udon soup, they both were super flavorful and it was the perfect serving size! The broth for the chicken udon soup was very comforting and the pork was cooked and seasoned so delicious. We were seated in one of the booths and I really liked the lights inside the restaurant, it didn't feel like I was in chico. Our waitress was super friendly and I love how it's a family business. I will definitely go back.

Delicious food, reasonable prices, very sweet and nice server, quiet setting. The chashu and half egg is included! Lots of pieces of chashu, for my chashu lovers! Wooo!

Spicy Tonkotsu Ramen

So good! This is the best ramen spot in Chico. The spicy tonkotsu had the perfect amount of spice. It is a really big portion and lots of pork meat. We also had the gyoza which was really good. It seemed like a combination of deep fried and pan fried. I never had it like that before. I think our waitress was the owner. She was so nice and attentive to all the tables. You can tell she has a great work ethic. Tbe guy at the front desk seemed like he was learning but he was trying really hard! Everything was great :) The decorations in here were so cute. A nice little Japanese restaurant!

Cream cheese wontons, gyoza, wakame salad

Cool little ramen place! The lady whom I assume owns the place is very nice as well! Here's a list of what we got: Gyoza Fried cream cheese wontons Wakame salad (seaweed salad) Miso ramen Tonktosu ramen My boyfriend loved his ramen (miso) and I had the tonkotosu which I liked. The miso broth was super flavorful, the tonkotsu was pretty good I just wish it was a little thicker of a broth. NOW THE PORK! That was absolutely delicious in both bowls so juicy and tender and they don't skimp out on the sizing! Overall a 10/10 place it will definitely leave you full. Will definitely come back!

Absolutely delicious ramen. I went here with my grandfather and we both loved it. Service was amazing as well. Our waitress was very sweet

Delicious! Very friendly service! Great ramen. Hot tea is served in a very cute way with a little teapot that comes with it! Yum

Pork belly, black garlic chili oil, Tonkatsu. It was very flavorful and well worth the calories.

Not briny like Atlantic or Gulf oysters. Next tempura platter. Very nice to share, and good light batter. Followed up with sashimi platter (ordered an extra piece of tuna to make it even - note to restaurant, don't do odd numbered pieces on platters that people are likely to share). Fish was very fresh and tasty. Finally, finished up with California roll. Very nice, but more crab, less cream cheese. We also shared a bottle of wine and very reasonably priced for both wine and all of the food. We will be back to taste more and yes they have wine, beer and sake.

Our favs have been the Japanese Tacos, Gyoza, Sushi Sampler Plate and any number of rolls. The side salad with the Wasabi dressing has always been and is still delicious! Every place can have an off day or item but the last two visits leave us looking for other options. The sauce for the Japanese Tacos has become so spicy hot we've had to have them hold it - something's changed there. The gyoza (2 orders for one person and one order for the second person were all served on the same plate, forgivable but they were bland and the sauces were spilled when the waitress set them down. The Sushi sampler contained "room temp", not cold raw fish and was literally flavorless AND the rice tasted old and chalky. I tried the spicy tuna roll the month before and I could not eat it. It was flavorless and warm. Our last visit's service was very poor. Had to ask more than once for the basic wasabi and ginger. Then we had to ask for our beverages again halfway through our meal. Used to be awesome but this is two poor experiences in a row. I've been enjoying Japanese cuisine throughout California my entire life and this just wasn't worth it. The place is also loud and rushed.

Their hollandaise sauce tasted house made so I asked my server (Katie, amazing, 5 stars. Super personable and friendly) and sure enough I learned B Street is a scratch kitchen (absolutely everything is made in-house). IMPRESSIVE. They are famous for their Poké bowl, but we only did sushi this time (my willpower deserves recognition).. The edamame was excellent and their miso soup is still one of my favorites anywhere. It just tastes different... richer and more intentional than the usual versions. I'm a huge saba fan and theirs was exactly why I keep coming back... clean, fresh and done right. My kid had the tataki and it was the same story there, super fresh and gone in about thirty seconds. We also had the Gilroy (yum) Japanese Cowboy, Red Dragon, Hibachi Sunset and Lotus Cobra. The Lotus Cobra is one of those rolls you order once and then it just becomes part of your future. The ambiance is probably my favorite in Chico. It's one of those places where you can have a great meal and some top tier people watching at the same time. Service is always solid, friendly without being fake, and everything from the dining area to the bathrooms is consistently clean. I'll just say it... I wish we had a place like this back on the Mendocino Coast. Until then, this is always going to be my Chico sushi stop. If you like fresh fish, good energy and a place that just feels dialed in, Rawbar is hard to beat.

I've been craving the oyster hot shots and Shaka tuna for yeeeears. I've even tried recreating those hot shots at home more times than I'd like to admit, and I still can't crack whatever magic they're doing back there. Now onto the new stuff. We ordered the special dry-aged nigiri sampler, and my mom couldn't stop talking about how much it reminded her of the way fish and sushi are treated in Japan. Thoughtful, balanced, and intentional. It was such a refreshing break from the AYCE-style spots where the fish-to-rice ratios can feel quite careless. Almost forgot! Our server was amazing. Gah I forgot his name. So professional and knowledgeable about everrrrrything. We were super comfortable in the new lounge area, which I would say is much cozier and dare I say sexier than the old motif which was kinda industrial. If they ever open a location in Los Angeles (hint, hint), I'd be first in line.
