If your looking for fresh soft dumplings this is the place to come to. My first time here I can say that their food focus is freshness. Quantity is smaller but better quality. I liked their walnut shrimp and thin dumplings. Pricing is good too. Like any place I go to I like to pick and choose certain dishes that I like but by far I can say their walnut shrimp is good and thin wrap dumplings very fresh. Other places I've been to it's wayyy to chewy. I've had a few other dishes but these are my favorites so far will come back to try other ones. I was excited to try this place since there was some hype around Facebook since its opening last week. When I first walked in the ambiance was ok, generic Chinese restaurant vibe. The service was terrible. The waiter took about 10 minutes to greet us and when I was trying to order some wonton soup with a side of noodles for my toddler he was very confused and told me the noodles will cost extra $7. We ended up ordering Dandan noodles, jjajangmyun, shrimp lo mein, scallion pancakes and wonton soup. I asked the waiter that all the food can come out at the same time even though some of the dishes are considered to be an appetizer he responded "I can't control what comes out first" the food came out really in random order and one of the dish didn't come out until 30 minutes into us eating at which time we were all done eating other dishes already. Dandan noodle was the worst, flavorless and NOT at all what I'm used to. Jjajangmyun was completely wrong- made with chicken and miso which is not all all authentic. There was nothing that made that dish jjajangmyun. The scallion pancake was doughy and uncooked in some parts, shrimp lo mein was made with the wrong noodles and salty beyond edible. The only thing that was ok was the wonton soup. I really wanted to like this place since it's new and it's so close to us but I just couldn't. read more

i am so excited to have noodle eighty eight right here in springfield! my boyfriend and i tried it for the first time tonight. they have tons of vegan options as well as options for meat eaters. i ordered the spicy chili noodles and the crispy fried tofu. the noodles were some of the best i've ever had- a perfect amount of spice and not too oily. the tofu was great because the sauce was served on the side so it stayed crispy. my boyfriend also loved his sesame chicken entree. the service was amazing too! they were so friendly and helpful. we will be back asap. read more

Tonight I decided to give Noodles 88 a and I am glad I did. The food was fantastic!! We order soup dumplings, steamed vegetable dumplings, sautéed string bean, vegetable lo mien, Singapore rice noodles and the duck sandwich. Excellent food - hot and fresh. Outstanding service. The waiter even brought us a complimentary dish when the cook accidentally put egg in a noodle dish (my vegan son had requested no egg). I found the (what I assume the owner) to be ignorant. This was my first time trying the place. Upon arriving at 1pm he barely said hello when I came in. I proceeded to tell him this was the first time I was ever there and how long were they in business here. Barely an answer. Two people were leaving and the place was empty when they left. The waitress came up to the counter and handed the elderly man the previous customers check and cash. The vibe they gave each other was very stoic. The same with the cook when he brought my order out. Anyway, I proceeded to view the menu and thought everything was highly priced so I decided to go with the vegetable fried rice. After paying my 12.59 cash, I notice far away from the menus are a pile of separate lunch special menus. Now, you would think, with this being my first time, and expressing that, the guy would have offered this menu to me. The food is so delicious. We all forgot to take pictures. Four of us ordered seven dishes and ate all of them.

This is a brand new place in the little Sproul Village shopping center, next door to the health food story. I was so excited that I stopped by today for a $10 off coupon that was advertised out front. The restaurant was pretty empty and the greeter a little sullen, but I only mention that because I walked in off the street and didn't order or sit down. Whatever. Later The Guy called in for takeout and ordered $50 worth of food from the online menu. They didn't have several of the items that were on the menu (this is a restaurant chain), but again no problem. Food was picked up promptly, enough for two people to gorge with leftovers. Ordered the won ton soup, thanks to another yelp reviewer recommendation, but it was average, nothing special. The won tons were not particularly firm. Ordered the cold sesame noodles, not much sesame or sauce, again the noodles were ok but not homemade as one would expect from a place called NOODLE 88. I had a little aftertaste from that I can't quite describe. Also tried the beef short ribs with bok choy, very tender falling off the bone, with nice 8-spice sauce, with rice. The Guy ordered beef with orange sauce, a favorite, with broccoli, again, nothing spectacular. This place is just so-so, especially since Noodles are the specialty, it should be extraordinary, but it is Baltimore Pike, no one is picky out here, especially with the limited selection of Chinese style restaurants. I believe that this is the best Asian food in Delco! The service is above par, kind and courteous. I have tried every dumpling on the menu and I'm here to tell you they were all delicious.
