On November 23, 2014. I locked my keys inside my house rushing to get to work early in the morning. I got back home after work at 4. My landlord, his manager and a neighbor tried helping me for 5 hours. I finally decided to call a lock smith. One company told me 2 hours and NONE STOP LOCK SMITH told me 15 minutes expected arrival. Remind u, it was late at night. ALEX. R arrived at my house exactly 15 minutes after i called him. He walked up greeted me and was very kind. I was upset and very impacient. ALEX. R ensured me that everything will be ok. He told me to step back for a second and that he'll have me in my house in no time. He was very professional, A gentleman and he was very confidant about about his job. It was pouring down raining and i apologized to him about having him out in the rain. He reminded me that the only concern was to get me into my house and that the weather was the least of his concerns. I warned ALEX. R that i had a DOG and i apologized in advance if he jumps on u when the door opened. Alex approached my house and went threw his tools for a couple seconds and within 2 minutes my door was opened. My dog charged out and ALEX stood there while my dog jumped all over him and he was very unbothered. I was surprised about how quick it took and how confidant he was, because i live in an older modeled house. ALEX was very, kind, professional, and extremely confidant in his job. We called based on the great yelp rating and after using them, I couldn't agree more with the rating!! We called because we had a key break inside our front door lock. We also had some trouble with the door handle and was hoping to get it fixed as well. When I called this morning I indicated that it wasn't an emergency as we had already been going out the back door for several weeks. They said not to worry as the visit fee is the same - $45 - whether it is an emergency or not. Within an hour Shai came out and was able to fix the door lock and re-key it so that we could still use the same keys. The handle on the other hand was not fixable. He also took the handle with him to see if he could find a replacement that wouldn't require new holes to be drilled. He called me after a couple of hours after checking at several stores for a replacement. Unfortunately nothing lined up perfectly but Shai purchased a couple to see if they would work and still cover up holes. Unfortunately they did not, but it ends up the internal mechanism for the temporary doorknob he put on the door when he took the handle did work! He did not charge me anything additional for coming back, the time he spent looking for a replacement or for the mechanism itself! Overall I would say they customer service is amazing! They really do care about helping their customers. Shai was professional and really came through. I would definitely recommend them to others! Please check the better business bureau on this company before hiring them. They say they are listed on it but the BBB has no record of them that I could find. The Illinois Department of Professional Regulation has no record either. If you are a locksmith in Illinois you need to have a license. In order to have a license you and all of your employees need to be background checked through the FBI database. If you advertise as a locksmith in Illinois you MUST post your Locksmith License number so people can look up on the IDPR database and see that you are who you say you are, that you are not a criminal, and that you have taken the time to make sure your customers get a trained, licensed, upstanding, ethical locksmith. Without these checks and balances you could get a pretty bad guy at your house or business and you would be giving him access forever. Please check these guys before you use them, there are quite a few front companies who are really a phone service from another state that contacts these pseudo locksmiths and take a cut of their profit. All the reviews you read are not always true and could very well be written by the company themselves. P.S. I contacted the company which appears to be in Queens NY and showed them this review before posting. I will gladly retract this if they prove that they are in fact licensed and not just a broker hiring who knows who to come work on your house. read more

I'm going to keep this short & sweet. My family and I came home after a wedding. Suddenly I checked my pockets and I realized I had misplaced my keys. I don't know if I lost them while on the dance floor but since then I have yet to find my original house keys. Everything that you've read in the 5-star reviews here of this firm in general and Dejan in particular is true. Non-Stop is swift, well-organized, honest, direct, courteous, and with very reasonable fees and prices. Dejan is all of these things and more -- smart, funny, helpful, and with a keen eye and hand. We were facing front and back doorknob setups that were simultaneously failing after however many decades of use. We scheduled an appointment with one day's notice. Dejan called to confirm, arrived exactly on time, assessed the situation immediately, and clearly laid out what we did *and did not* need, never overselling or trying to push anything. He had everything with him and/or on his truck for the solutions we chose, including a full keying system. He did both jobs in no time, double- and triple-checked everything, and handled the invoice and receipt by hand and credit-card payment via his cellphone. I used to think that mechanics, tow truck drivers, and locksmiths were not to be trusted. Biggest thieves on the planet! Well, I have been proven wrong on one of those points. Non-stop locksmith came at 7 pm (only 20 minutes after I called them!) to repair my door. The lock on the door had broken and the door was stuck shut and could not be opened. I was expecting to get totally screwed as I have had to pay hundreds of dollars before to a different locksmith company just to open a door when I had locked my keys in my condo. The lock was fairly new and I know that the lock itself cost more than a thousand dollars to replace. The locksmith took one look at it and said "this lock is very expensive to replace so I'll see if I can fix it."He was super professional and friendly and I totally trust him. Within 15 minutes he had repaired the lock with spare parts from his truck and he fixed the door which was the root of the problem. He even cleaned the lock and door when he was done. He could have charged me whatever he wanted and I would have paid, but his rates were more than fair- I felt like I was stealing from him! Procrastinated in getting my intercom repaired so when Non-Stop Locksmith said they could come out the next day, Saturday, I was thrilled! Chris, the technician, kept me informed of his arrival time, which worked beautifully since my husband had surgery that morning, and even arrived a few minutes early. Once here, I showed him the problem and he immediately described two ways to repair it, based on what he found when he opened the box. In my case, I was very glad the problem was easy to fix and cheaper than option 2, but was delighted he informed me up front. After that quick repair I expanded scope and asked him to take a look at a new intercom that was installed but not working. Once again, he quickly identified the issue and managed to squeeze himself under a cabinet to make the repair. Through all of this, Chris was very pleasant, he worked very efficiently and meticulously, and it was evident he wanted to own fixing the problem. (I was surprised when he picked up all of his wire clippings and put them in his pocket; Comcast would have pushed them into the wall!) On Fri. 10/3/14, Chicago Intercom / Non-Stop Locksmith came out to repair my intercom and entry door buzzer (the bells worked fine. The tenants could hear the bells if rung. They just couldn't communicate or buzz the person into the building). Michael the tech out and said it was the amplifier. I anticipated that being the problem and told him I bought the exact same amplifier from the manufacture. He disconnected the 13 wires from the old amplifier but he forgot the order of the wires and could only reconnect 7 (even though there were instructions and a diagram in the box). He then went on to say it's probably a short in the line and that he would have to come back with a helper to run new line. I asked him to return the system to it's former state. I said the bells were working. He said he would have to do that when he returned. He left. On 10/8/14 I phoned his office and spoke to Ruby. We called Non-Stop Locksmith and they were extremely flexible and worked around our schedule...yes that's right, they come to your location! They arrived exactly when they said they would. Our technician, Quinn, was a total professional. Friendly, courteous, and extremely knowledgeable about what would best fit our needs. He showed us a range of options (and price points) and we were not pressured in any way to make a pricey decision, he wanted us to make the right decision for our home. We were able to get both the front and back door locks changed, and now have just 1 key for everything! Like Jenn, I owe a pledge of allegiance to Shai and Non-Stop Locksmith for saving my 4th of July. I walked out of the apartment I'd moved into three days prior, keys in hand, ready for a quick run. Except that I'd grabbed an OLD set of keys, not my NEW set of keys. I thought about the impending 100 degree weather, the AC that I hadn't yet turned on and my cat, who was already meowing loudly at the closed door. Mild panic ensued. Thankfully, I never run without my iPhone. I called the girl who I'm subletting the apartment from and learned that both sets of spare keys were IN the apartment. Moderate panic ensued. After calling multiple locksmiths in the city, Non-Stop was the perfect fit for our needs. Brandon called 20 minutes prior to his arrival, just to inform us as to when he would arrive. We had all of our locks (5) re-key'd to one key. While other locksmiths made it seem that our request was a little far fetched, Brandon took matters into his own hands and made it work. He also installed a mortise lock on a solid wood pocket door, which no other locksmith in the city that we had contacted were willing to even try to do. The door was not prepped for hardware, Brandon spent a couple of hours drilling and carving the space for the new hardware. Unfortunately, with the size of our new hardware, there wasn't a tool to quickly drill out the space in the door. He was very delightful and friendly right from the moment he walked into the door. Throughout the entire process Brandon was very knowledgable and made everything very easy to understand. If we ever require additional locksmith services, we may have to personally request Brandon, as we were definitely happy with his services. read more

Just when I thought that this company couldn't get any better BAM it did!! We were unable to unlock our patio door hence it made grilling a bit challenging. We call Non-Stop Locksmith and they sent out Joseph to assist us. Josephe tried everything that he could but he was unable to get the door open. Joseph stated that he would need to order some parts and that he would get back to us. Needless to say we were quite worried that we were going to be charged an arm and a leg for services. Well I am pleased to announce that Joseph left a few hours ago for the second visit and not only did he open the patio door, and replace the lock but he also didn't try to nickel and dime us for his services. Belive me when I say that he worked extra hard because this was indeed a difficult task. Joseph is an extremely capable, friendly and AWESOME locksmith. We will definitely be using Non-Stop again and I will be sure to insist that they send Joseph for the job!!
