Visited Nomad for the first time and was very impressed. We were quickly seated (had a res through Open Table) and although the server Lindsey was busy, she stopped and let us know she would be with us shortly. She was very thorough in her attention to detail about the menu and specials. We were at a small table and she made sure were comfortable there and with her being close to us (she was masked, of course). The atmosphere, lighting and ambiance were all spot-on. The drinks were amazing! And the food- Wow. We were thoroughly impressed! We had the porkchop and Po Boy sandwich. The chop was delicious with tons of flavor and a unique mix of sweet and spice. The Po Boy i asked for extra spicy and it was perfect! Tender shrimp and the baguette melted in my mouth. What really struck me was that everyone in the restaurant seemed to do every job. They were very busy and the hostess was cleaning tables and greeting guests. A gentleman in a suit (maybe the owner?) Checked on multiple tables, cleaned tables and made his way 2 times to check on us. There was some serious hustle and they all worked together seamlessly. We made a reservation on open table for 7 for a happy hour on Thursday and oh boy we were satisfied!! Bar has very good selections on bourbon!! Happy hour small plates and selected drinks are $7. My favorite was NY Sour. So so good. Our server was super attentive and even the manager came to greet us. Easter reservation for 5 with tip the meal came to 341.00. I'm a fan of your two restaurants in the Polaris area and have Eaten at the Nomad quite a lot. Your booths are two tight and cramped to sit 5 adults comfortably. Charging 3.00 for every iced tea refill is poor business. The two lamb chop dishes the two family members received - the meat was over cooked and dry - the root vegetables- carrots were very undercooked and hard to eat. The tomato sauce was nice. The dish was hard to eat in the bowls it was served in. The wings confit - were not good. Wings may have been better if tossed in sauce. Meat of wings seemed boiled - no one liked them. Bao buns good. Out of crab hush puppies. Green goddess salad was ok. Flatiron steak ok. Cocktails good. This was not my Families favorite experience here. We have had better entrees in the past. Miss the mussels. It will be a while before we venture back on the food misses that should be spot on paying 41.00 entree. Be better. read more

This was my second time here, the first experience was pretty good. This time definitely a disappointment. I ordered the Bhan Mi which was served on French bread, the chicken was stringy and tough. We ordered the egg nog pot de crepe, which was awful. Too thick and grainy with zero flavor or appeal. The service was good, not great. The first time we were there we were absolutely blown away by the service. I believe it was even shortly after they opened which is even more impressive. In my experience when a new restaurant is opened they have a few kinks to work out. That was not the case at Nomad. We've been back a few times since and it's always great. We dined in for the second time this week. Everything we've had has been excellent! Our first time we both got the Peruvian Stir-fry. My wife liked it so much she ordered it again tonight. I had seen Nomad on Yelp several months ago, and this past week a friend asked if I would be interested in checking it out. The menu looked great, and I remembered how much I had wanted to try it out, so I readily agreed. A reservation was made for seven of us, and we were seated promptly as soon as we arrived. The ambiance: Nomad is among the many restaurants now that are trying for the urban-chic yet pseudo-industrial yet homey combined kitchen-and-dining room type of atmosphere. It's cute, but it doesn't really have a personality of its own since it's simply following in the path of everyone else. It's stylish, and there is nothing unpleasant about how the place is arranged or decorated, but it's generic. Also, it's loud. It was impossible for us to have a real conversation, so our group was pretty much divided into three smaller groups -- three of us at the end of the table, two across from each other midway of the table, and the two at the other end of the table. There was simply no way for us to hear from one end of the table to the other. The food: Meh. For what we paid, I expected better. The friend who invited us thinks the food is among the best in Columbus. Honestly, I can (and do) make the same food at home, with the same tastes, and for MUCH less than what we paid. Apparently the big thing here is a special oven that was imported from Barcelona that makes the food so spectacularly delicious that you just can't stop eating. So, at our host's insistence, we ordered the roasted vegetable platter as an appetizer. As much as he talked it up, I expected much more. It was platter of chopped vegetables that looked to have been roasted in olive oil. That's it. I ordered a burger because another friend said it was one of the best burgers she had ever had. My experience was different: the burger wouldn't stay together, because of the slippery wilted lettuce and slick onion on it. The burger patty was fine, but again, nothing special. Also, I apparently got the last of the fries from the fryer because they were pretty much fried potato nubs. Others at the table had whole French fries, but not me! A pile of potato nubs. Another person at the table ordered the lomo saltado, which is a typical dish in Peru and Ecuador. She has traveled extensively there and lived there for a number of years. According to her, the lomo saltado at Nomad was nothing like what she had over and over again in various places in Peru. It was burned on the outside, nearly raw in the middle, and as dry as cardboard. We were in a rush, so we didn't have dessert. Will I be back? I doubt it. I wanted to try it, and I did. Nothing there really draws me back. The martini was delicious, but I won't return just for that. I won't be able to hear whomever I go with anyway. read more

Fantastic experience tonight! For starters, we were seated at the bar. Normally not my preference; but it was fascinating watching this crew hustle! I'd prefer the bar seating next time. The bartenders and waitstaff were exceptional in all regards - personable, hard working, and efficient! The craft cocktails were tasteful and unique, and the food was really remarkable. Glad to find this gem. Food is flavorful and prepared to perfection. Started with the vegetable platter and bacon steak. Both were outstanding (yes that includes the veggies). Tried Nomad for the first time and the food was excellent. After sharing the Brussel Sprout/Sweet potato and Naan appetizers, I ordered the Scallop entree which was excellent. The presentation was so nice, that I didn't want to mess it up by devour it, which I indeed did! My friend had the Sea Bass was also was very good. There are only two slight faults I could find. I had the Cosmopolitan, which was good, but, the pour was small for the price. Also, the noise level was a bit too loud for my taste. Other than that, I suggest you check this place out! read more

Went to Nomad for dinner last night and came out with mixed feelings. Atmosphere of the restaurant is very nice, service was pretty solid. Unfortunately, the food here is hit or miss. We ordered the spoon bread and brussel sprouts for our starters, then the aglio y olio pasta and duck breast for our mains. While the brussel sprouts were stellar, all the other dishes had issues (very thin piece of cornbread for the spoon bread, too chewy skin on the duck breast, and the some of the mussels that came with the pasta tasted foul). I'd usually give the issues a pass but the food here is definitely not cheap, so it's hard to recommend this inconsistent quality of food at this price point. read more

The ambiance and aesthetic are lovely. The food however was subpar and not consistent. I have food allergies and was grateful that they noted the allergies from the reservation. The allergen guide is inaccurate. Soybean oil is used in their fryer and is in various dishes although the allergen menu does not indicate this. The spicy haystack cocktail was interesting and a nice aspect of the outing. Service was nice, but not as knowledgeable as would be expected. The food sounds good on the menu and has great presentation. If I would ever visit again I would hope someone without food allergies would try the crispy chicken sandwich as it sounds great. Everything on the menu is fire roasted with little to no seasoning making the name a good match for the experience. The roasted vegetable plate is a great starter for a group. From start to finish, we had the best experience. The food was fabulous, the service was even better, and the atmosphere was perfect! The portions were huge and we should have asked for a box...but instead we just cleaned each and every plate. My girls were not happy about my grabby fingers when they slowed down on their plates. I love good presentation and they nailed that. too. My daughter's fries came stacked like a log cabin. How cool is that? You can tell they spent a lot of time making sure every detail was addressed, right down to the flatware! Seriously, the place even has cool forks!!! You can see the cooks working their magic on some state-of-the-art equipment if you sit at the bar. Both dishes exceeded are expectations and are highly recommended. Our server, Travis, made our experience even more enjoyable. Nomad has a very friendly and attentive staff. Too bad the food is awful. My wife and I both had bad meals Saturday evening at Nomad. My wife's meal, chicken and vegetables, had dry chicken, overcooked vegetables and under cooked orzo. My meal was called veal ragu. It was an overcooked and pasty, smokey tasting veal over dry egg noodles. Simply horrid. To make things worse, no domestic bottled or tap beer, just overpriced craft beer that no red blooded American could possibly drink. Avoid this restaurant. read more
