Nom Nom Tea & Bites was a place I found on a whim. I personally would have never came to the Marketplace Club plaza til I noticed Nom Nom. We got their Stir-fried Conch, Rice Paper Salad and Nom Nom Special Milk Tea. Stir-fried Conch came with a lemon grass dressing that was heavenly. The dish itself is very flavorful and a bit spicy. However when paired with the lemon grass dressing, it's an absolute harmony. 10/10 I did not try much of the Rice Paper Salad but my girlfriend likes the dish, however she mention how it lacks a bit of flavor/spice. 7/10 I personally got the Milk Tea and it was very good. It's an Oolong base with various toppings like red bean, grass jelly, and even fruit jelly. Papaya salad (6/10): Didn't splurge on the sauce or the beef jerky in it, used to be serve in a larger quantity but charged the same as seen in picture. It was savory and sweet, a nice appetizer. Chicken fried rice (7/10): standard chicken fried rice in fish sauce. I love the savory fish sauce flavor you can't find at other restaurants in this quantity. Stir-fried corn (4/10): incredibly underwhelming, corn cold to bite. Watery at the bottom and didn't emulate the tastes of Vietnamese street corn that they were trying to go for. Tamarind balut (8/10): So yummy! Small enough to not be too overwhelming for the adventurous foodies, and its savory sweet sauce coats the eggs so well. The peanuts add great texture to it. Scallops with scallion oil (6/10): chewy, tasted fishier than a scallop should taste. Toppings were perfect, just not good enough to mask the quality of the shellfish. Pork floss banh mi (10/10): best fish, without a fail cannot get this wrong. Crunchy bread with savory salty pork floss topped with kewpie mayo and sriracha and scallions. Razor clams with scallion oil (7/10): Delicious, just nothing special and a bit pricey for the amount and uniqueness in comparison to the scallops. Overall, the food was pretty good! I like coming here with my friends so they can try new things. The only unsavory part, however, is the service and ambiance of this place. The servers essentially ignore you at the place after you give your order, and if their friends come to visit, you bet that you're ignored for the rest of the night and basically sidelined unless you bring something to their attention. They also play music so loudly you'd be yelling across the table to someone sitting in front of you. In terms of ambiance, most nights I've come here (about 5-8 times now) they've brought out balloons they've passed around taking turns huffing. I don't really wanna assume what's going on, but it isn't really professional as well as smart. I would love to come back here again if their service and professionalism improves. I used to come to Nom Nom a lot pre COVID and even used to study here. Since then, it had had a change in management and complete renovation. I used to love coming here for their split cups, but they no longer have it. The fish tofu is pretty good but I recall a certain seasoning that the previous management of Nom Nom used that is missing in this one. Very yummy. Coconut Snails: Tasty sauce, hard to suck out the snails. I wish there there toothpicks to use. Tamarind Snails: Tasty slightly sour sauce and more meaty. Spicy Steamed Clams: Spicy and succulent soup. Wished there were white rice to pair with the soup. Papaya Salad with Beef Jerky: This was very refreshing and yummy. The beef jery was very small though. It was sprinked slightly on the top. Chicken Fried Rice: the chicken was sweet and savory. The fried rice was underwhelming. Didn't have that wok hay taste. I came here for a car meet and wanted to try out their drinks and snacks. I forgot to take photos of the drinks but my Green Apple Iced Green tea was amazing!!! As far as snacks, I ordered the popcorn chicken (which reminded me of salt & pepper chicken and same with some spicy mayo sauce). The chicken was very yummy and for $4.25, it came with a ton of food. We also sampled the sea snails from a friend. My pinky milky drink was pretty good. The flavors were unique and differed from a traditional milk tea or flavored tea drink. The taro slushy was rather icy and somewhat flavorless. I'd stick to the other liquid drinks to be safe. The popcorn chicken was dry and hard. There weren't much chicken pieces going on here but rough and dry dough encasing what should have been chicken; you can hardly taste the actual chicken. I don't recommend getting this. At first when I tried Nom Nom, their clams were way too sweet for me, I also had it togo a long long time ago. I recently started coming back a lot in the middle of 2018 and at least once every couple of months in 2019. They've improved a lot. Everyone there is really great and nice, I've never had a problem with them. I used to always drink the nom nom green milk tea which was a favorite but it became too sweet for me so I switched to peach tea for awhile and back to the milk tea. I always order the clams in lemongrass because you can't go wrong with that. Make sure you ask it to be spicy!! I've been forgetting and ask for the green sauce, it's bomb. Oh and the scallops with the quail egg is to die for, my boyfriend and I love it, it comes with 4 but it's sooo good. I arrived at Nom Nom Tea & Bites around 10 minutes before closing time on a Wednesday night and felt that there may not be enough time for them to take my order. As I stood at the door, about to reverse my course back to the parking lot, the man-in-charge engaged me and heartily invited me to come in and that he could prepare something for me. I was thankful for his kind gesture--a fine turn-of-events for an otherwise *meh* evening. He whipped up a banh mi sandwich and a brown sugar boba milk drink. Both were great and reasonably priced. This place was an unexpected find and I was treated with respect and welcomed with open arms at a time when I thought the place would close before I even had a chance. I recommend this place both for its service and for its food. I don't think this place worthed the detour. We were en route to Destin, FL and decided to stop by Atlanta to have some Vietnamese snacks. To be fair, I LOVE their sugarcane kumquat juice. We had one there and ordered another without ice to drink the next day ($1.50 extra because they filled the juice up to the rim, which was fair). The juice was fresh and delicious with the white boba. I gave 2 stars for that. However, the food failed me. We got banh trang tron (mixed rice paper) and bot chien (crispy pastry) as safe options for long drive. They don't taste anything close to the Vietnamese authentic street foods that I grew up with (as other comments stated). There wasnt enough sauce for the banh trang tron and not enough rau ram and xoai xanh. Too much of hanh phi and tep to fill the portion. I didn't tasted the sour flavor although I mentioned the tamarind sauce. Bot chien tasted weird to be honest. Overall, 2 stars for sugarcane kumquat juice and 1 star for the staff. Wait. There's a Vietnamese snack place and has boba??? Really? I gotta check it out. I like the fact that they have Vietnamese snacks. Most of these boba places are Taiwanese inspired. I'm a fan of VN Tofu but would love a hangout. After taking the kids shopping for Halloween costumes, I decided to take them out for boba. I remembered Nom Nom Teas & Bites pics popping up on IG recently. It was around 9 PM when we came by. It was probably the only happening place on the unlit, dark plaza. It is located in the Goodwill plaza where Pho Dai Loi 3 and Stevie B is located. In front of the plaza is also Starbucks (where the old Krispy Kremes used to be and Walgreens) off Pleasant Hill Road and Club Drive. It was not packed but it was half packed. When you walk in, you could check out the menu and many written, added, new items on the right and make your decision. What gets me is that on the slush prices, the small is just 5 cents less than the large. I might as well get a large, just saying. No split cups or snacks were ordered this time. We just got pineapple slushie with boba, avocado slushie no boba, and Kawaii fruit tea with boba. After ordering and paying, we got a buzzer to go sit down and wait for our drinks. Honestly, it took FOREVER. Even longer than at Sweet Hut and they ain't even packed like that. I did notice A LOT of people ordered snacks. Many people were getting up to get their orders. After 30 mins, I saw the pineapple and avocado slushie, just sitting on the counter but still our buzzer didn't go off yet. Just many people still getting their snacks. After waiting 5 more minutes, we went up to ask if that's our slushies and then the Kawaii fruit tea came out. Perfect timing, I guess. Then they're not wait, we forgot to put the strawberries in there and took it back and filled it up and gave it back. We sat down, took a few pics, and enjoyed our drinks for 5 more minutes then headed out. Overall, 3.5 out of 5. Although, I'm not a fan yet, I will definitely come back to try their snacks. My avocado slushie is good but I didn't like the aftertaste. I cannot place what kind of taste it is but didn't like it. My son loved the pineapple slushie. My daughter is in love with the Kawaii fruit tea. She kept raving about it. I may not try their other teas because Jamarcus T wrote about it having a floral after taste. Tried this place last week. We were greeted as soon as we walked in. My sister in law has been here 5 times and she finally took me here. We ordered a sandwich-Banh mi, corn, rice paper salad, taro milk tea, mango green tea, black milk tea. The rice paper salad-Banh Trang Chon is good. The sandwich is nicely displayed on a wooden board and also taste good. The only thing is that you'll have to make the sandwich yourself. You get a little bit of everything on a plate and you make your own sandwich at the table. I think I prefer the sandwich already made in the kitchen. That's just me. The corn is sweet and little salty, love it. All of our teas are on point, not too sweet. The texture of the bobas is perfect, not too chewy or soft. There is self serve water which is awesome. I came to Nom Nom Tea & Bites on a warm July Sunday afternoon looking for a cool drink. When I walked into Nom Nom, the first thing I noticed were the zero customers in this place. Staff were friendly though, welcoming loudly and jumping up to offer any suggestions they could on what to order. They have a number of different teas, many of them on their dedicated menu board, and some written on paper, stuck on the wall below the menu board. Prices vary with their three sizes: Regular, large or split, with each side of the split cup being $2.25. I did get the split cup and was told one of their top sellers was the Nom nom green bubble tea ($2.25), and I also got a taro bubble tea for the other side ($2.25) making the entire cup $4.50. In addition to the tea, I got a snack, and was told to try their fiery bread, which is one of their signature dishes, so I did get the firey bread ($3.50) too. So what did I think? Starting with the firey bread, wow there was a lot going on, but it looked delicious. This was a toasted bread with brown fine strands I was shocked to find were dried pork. I've never seen this technique done and it looked really cool! The bread was crispy, and was glazed with a sweet white and chili sauce. Lots of crunch with each bite too. The fiery bread had more of a sweeter taste to it, but not dessert sweet. I enjoyed this a lot and would happily order again. The bubble teas are both in their own compartment in the same cup, and they give you two straws to access each side. Never seen this before, at least not in Georgia, so Nom nom gets points for catching your eye with their products. In terms of flavors, The Taro bubble tea was realy sweet. The taro flavor was there, but I have had better taro teas before. The Nom nom green bubble tea almost had a floral taste to it. I did think it was slightly more watered than the Taro tea, but it wasn't bad. Tapioca balls (boba) used were some of the freshest i've ever had...being so soft it made me laugh when I chewed these super soft things The interior of Nom nom is decently sized....probably larger than kung fu but smaller than sweet hut, and it's a very clean interior that I enjoyed. I can only imagine how it looks when it's packed. Located in the Market Place shopping center, anchored by Good will, Nom nom's parking is shared, but that's okay because there's a ton of spaces to choose from. While they're off of pleasant hill road, they're on the OTHER side of pleasant hill...(near the chick fil a). I did like Nom nom Tea & Bites. Their presentation is great, their fiery bread is really good/different, and their bubble teas are decent. The problem with Nom nom Tea & Bites is there's so much competition for really good bubble tea just a mile or two away. Nom nom is also on an island all to itself, making it hard to just stumble upon it naturally when you're out and about. A little better than 3 stars for Nom nom, but not quite enough to round them up to 4 stars. Hopefully these guys stick around and find their customer base! read more
