I called that same evening and he picked up right away, I FaceTimed him and showed him the issue with my lock. He was very knowledgeable and said he would come first thing in the morning. The next morning, Frank came promptly ( brought an extra specialized lock just in case) and he took the time to assess what was wrong. Frank was very honest with me and said the underlying issue was not the lock but the leveling of my door. He could easily have replaced the lock and charged me for that as well as his time to come to the house. Instead, he DIDNT charge me and said he didn't do anything ( although he did adjust my lock a bit to help me utilize the lock temporarily). I researched a bunch of brands online, but the nature of the metalwork on the door turned this into more job than I could handle. I reached out to a few locksmiths in town, some that I've had good experiences with in the past, but everyone had the same line: you'll need a metalsmith to make alterations to the door in addition to locksmith services. Turns out Alex is also a metal worker, and has a lot of experience working with San Francisco security gates. He talked me through what he referred to as a "light industrial" setup, explaining the benefits and lower energy consumption of this solution. I didn't really need a wi-fi compatible smart lock, just a dependable keypad lock that I could easily set up and add/delete individual codes on. He answered on my first call, took the time to explain what would work best for my situation, offered free advice on a second door that saved me from having to do a retro-fit, got me on the schedule only a few days after I called, and did the installation in under an hour. Will definitely call Alex/Nova Locksmith again, and highly recommend them.

So something I got done in $20 was $350 from them. Also they said they will call me to fix the bathroom door lock which was not an emergency, it has been three months no call back to me. The person who picks phone when you call back said to call them back at 9 am or 5 pm when Mr Vern is there, why cannot he tell Mr Vern to call me back? Poor service and would not use again and would not recommend.
