I brought my guinea pig here cause he was displaying early signs of podermatitis. The vet and the receptionist were both so kind and gentle with him. They really showed an interest in healing my sweet WeeWee. The cost of the treatment and medications sure did add up quickly but they were kind enough to accept the YELP voucher. The vet showed exceptional knowledge and experience with treating guinea pigs which I find to be rare in NYC as most vets neglect small animals, or exotic pets. I am a new client, and I took my cat, Tabitha, to Noah's Ark yesterday. I'd been asking around for a good new veterinarian, since my former vet at Kings Bay was semi-retired, and Sheepshead Bay Veterinary Clinic had more or less partnered with him and taken over. He had also gotten more prohibitively expensive over the years, as I used to have multiple cats, and the status quo was to bring them in twice yearly at no less than $300 a pop - now THAT is price-gouging! Richie, one of the best techs around, was kind enough to apply a new patient discount of $30 for a first-time visit over the phone. He is a real gem! He also asked me how old my cat is, and suggested a possible blood panel, due to the fact she's 10 years old. He emphasized that the final decision would be up to me -- nothing is 'forced' upon you. What impressed me at first is how clean, pleasant and cheerful the office is. There is ample seating, and even an extra bench outside. Lauren, the Receptionist, is pleasant and efficient. As yesterday was a Friday afternoon, the wait was not long. I met Samantha, who cleaned Tabitha's ears, as I explained that they chronically itch. She explained that Tabitha would probably need that blood panel, and made an instant friend with my cat, with her loving and gentle handling. She also explained that I had the option to pre-approve a plan of care, which I did, since that's what I was there for. Nikki was also very professional and caring, taking blood and urine samples. Granted, Tabby is a sweet and easy animal to deal with - if I say so myself! Dr. Weinstock was a pleasure to deal with - cordial, compassionate, and thorough in both her examination and explanation of dealing with Tabby's chronic ear condition. There's also a tooth that needs extracting, but that will happen sometime in the future. I think what impressed me most was the follow-up call today, just to see how the cat was doing! What a lovely and considerate amenity. No vet ever did that before! I honestly wish I'd found your practice years ago, because what is evident is consideration for pet parents, and genuine love and gentle care for our animals. I have been using this practice for years both as a Vet and Boarding. I have taken my dog sparkle and after reading some of these reviews I felt I need to post one of my own. There will always be people who post bad reviews for whatever reason. Both Dr Abraham and Dr Weinstock are excellent vets caring and they know Sparkle well. They have provided excellent care over the years. I also had to put my cat down last year and instead of recommending expensive tests Dr Abraham told me what he thought and as hard as it was I put him down. Several months later they had a cat who had a litter and asked me if I would like the pick. They gave me a break on the adoption fee because I am a long time customer. Diane whos the head tech is also excellent with her. Both Elise and Lauren are excellent. They run an efficient office which might be hard at sometimes because it can get very busy but ask yourself why its busy. Its because they take care of our children so well. I have also used them for boarding services sometimes with little notice. Sparkle always came back in great shape and happy. I trust them 100%. One last note Richie is awesome and the entire staff is professional. When I started using them for boarding which is how I found them it wasnt long before I made them my Vet. Last week my friend and I rescued a cat named Seven that somebody left out in the heat all day. Shortly after we rescued him, Seven became very sick and we rushed him to Noah's Ark. Dr. Abraham made the call to keep him overnight for observation. The next day we received a call from another vet there, Dr. Ford, that Seven's blood pressure was very low and he seemed very sick but they could perform surgery that could potentially save his life. Since that surgery, Seven has been recovering amazingly. If it were not for Dr. Abraham's call to keep Seven for observation and Dr. Ford's call to perform emergency surgery, our cat would have passed away. The Noah's Ark staff saved Seven's life because of how caring, detail-oriented, and excellent they are at their jobs. When we came in to visit Seven after the surgery, we were greeted with a loving smile from one of the techs named Richie at the front desk and that same love and care was echoed as we talked to all the staff about Seven's operation and future steps. For the past 7 Years I've been taking my dog to Noah's Ark. Even with my recent move to Nassau county, I will not go to another vet besides them. My dog has had blood work taken, his shots, anals expressed monthly, xrays, urine tested for his bladder infections at Noah's Ark and he is handled so well and I know he is in the best care. When I say to my dog that we are going to see Dr. Weinstock, he heads for the door. What dog wants to go to the vet?!!!! Richie the tech when it is time to go down for xrays, I know he is in great hands and my dog goes willingly. I recently took my hamster in for a large growth on his stomach. Dr. Abraham treated him and he didn't make me feel like it was "just a hamster". He walked me through all my options and spent at least 20 mins with me. RIchie the tech even called me the next day to see how he was doing (as they do with my dog). Who does that with a hamster?!...NOAHS ARK DOES! I never feel ripped off or scammed with the price. I feel they are fair and always willing to answer any questions I have regarding prices and procedures. The atmosphere is warm and pleasant. We are welcomed each and every time with a cheerful hello to myself and my dog. My dog often gets a hug and kiss from Dr. Weinstock and Richie. They make me feel like family. Took my 3 year old lab terrier mix to Noah's Ark for the first time and I was extremely pleased and impressed by Dr. Lori Weinstock and the staff. I adopted my dog from North Shore Animal Shelter when she was 8 weeks old. She has always been nervous when I took her back there for her post-adoption visits. Her record claimed she was aggressive and had to be muzzled to be examined. Dr. Weinstock and her assistant, Diane, took the time to calm Sophia down and befriend her. She was given a thorough check-up, bloodwork and a few injections with no muzzling and no problems! The cost of the visit was very fair as compared to other vets. I took a brand new puppy and my 12 year old dog to them. My senior dog has very bad skin and ear infections and is very difficult to handle. With great patience and care, the vet and the assistants cleaned his ears and prescribed an antibiotic and steroids that had my sad dog comfortable. They have called me every other day to follow up with both of them to make sure they are progressing. I found my new vet!! read more

The Doctors here are very thorough. I really didn't know what was wrong with my cat and you know they don't talk so it is hard to figure out what's wrong when the only symptoms are sleeping and loss of appetite. I mean really, it could be anything. The doctor made a list of test we could run with the prices next to each. It can get pretty expensive but they don't push you to run all the test nor do they make you feel guilty for saying no to any test. We decided to go one step at a time, we started with a blood test. That showed us that the cat had some kidney problems. We also chose to do an x-ray and urine test. They gave my cat some antibiotics and some fluids. As soon as we got home, I could see a big difference. She was lively and hungry. I like this place, the people there love animals and have always treated my pets well. What I really like are the dogs roaming through the halls like they own the place. read more

I got a kitten from Brooklyn Zoo that became very sick and was rolling her eyes and head back, the kitten could not stand and looked like she was dying. I took her to Noah's Ark because it was in my area and they took her in and then decided that this dying cat needed a vaccine( Which you should not give a sick animal). The kitten died the next day and when I asked them why they gave her shots, they did not answer only told me that the cat was born sick and would have died anyway. So I guess the vaccine was to benefit their wallets. They ended up giving me a kitten they has and was healthy. I guess that was the only reason I went back to them but then when my husband and I took our cat to them to be treated for a urinary problem my husband caught them talking about us and then when they saw he was there they got quite. I will never go back there and I have a new vet I love!!!! read more

Great service here I brought my guinea pig in he wasn't feeling well I have no pet insurance or had ever been to vet with him before. Called that day and they fit us in. We waited a bit but this was bc they were very busy with dogs and cats. They were all kind and accepted my Yelp voucher for the visit -check-up starts at $50. Dr. Abraham is very kind and gives his honest professional opinion. You can tell the staff is very personable and knows their customers and their pets. They were very gentle with my guinea pig and took X-rays. Unfortunately my pet was sick so we had to put him to sleep they provide this service as well and are very professional about it. Nelly gave us time to say goodbye and figure out what we wanted to do. They really are such a great place they even sent us a condolences card. That was a nice touch and showed they cared. My regular vet was on vacation , my dog had an ear infection so I decided to try Noah's Ark Vet. I told them about the ear infection instead of prescribing the Otibiotic that I have had for my dogs in the past with ear infections they told me that they had to do cultures and even a blood test ??? I ended up spending over $200 and getting 3 different medications for my dogs ear What a rip off!. The ear infection came back a few weeks later and my vet gave me the old dependable Otibiotic and cleared it up quickly and the dogs ears were find after that. There was a woman at the front desk that was so annoying trying to get me to get my 8 year old dog fixed when I told her that at this point I believed my dog to be too old for an operation especially since the dog has breathing problems. She kept on insisting even giving me a outrageous price to have the operation done. She even called me a couple of times at home to she said to check up on the dogs ears but I had to listen to her try and convince me to have my dog fixed. Needless to say I will NEVER go back to that vet read more

Love Noah's Ark - been using Dr. Abraham for over 12 years, he took wonderful care of my Yorkie, who was diabetic and lived 3 yeas longer than expected after he was diagnosed. We stayed with him when he opened his own practice. Dr. Weinstock is terrific and both go above and beyond. im a 7-year customer of the clinic and recently visited noah's ark to get my dog vaccinated and general check up. first of all, it was a prolonged waiting time before we were invited to the room and then another half an hour wait time there. then dr. Abraham/ who was usually very attentive and looked thoroughly at my dog all over, even checked on nails (not this time), spent five minutes and left. i also purchased nexgard for $130. once i got home, i found out a price for the box is in the range $90-$100 offered from online pharmacies. of course noah's arc refused to take it back. i suggest to search the prices for medications online first and then ask for prescriptions. doubt if i ever bring my dog to them again. read more

She is so caring and kind and treats everyone's pets as if they were her own. She makes the most definitive diagnoses and will never give up. My small dog has been a patient at Noah's Ark for many years. (As were my previous dogs.) Over a year ago, my pet was severely injured at a pet boarding faclity and required sugery. His procedure and care was handled with compassion and understanding by Drs. Weinstock and Ford. They saved his life. Today, my dog was "kicked" in my face at a local park. Although he seemed okay, I called Noah's Ark and it was suggested that I bring him right in. Dr. Abraham checked him and thank goodness found that he was not seriously injured, but he requires some preventative work done in the near future. Dr. Abraham told me to call the office at any time should the condition of my pet change or if I had any further concerns. Both the doctor and veterinary assistants treated both my dog and myself with respect and care. read more

I was in the office earlier in the day and the vet saw my dog and she was well aware of the severity of the situation and still did not have the decency to return my call. I am a new pet owner... so everything is still of concern to me... My puppy had a rough day today.. very lethargic, but I didn't think much of it. Then tonight, he started to twitch..... I googled it and panicked at all the insane things they said... I decided to try and call the vet... I figured it was useless since it was 8:15... but I tried anyway... What do you know... the vet himself picked up!!! Yes, it was after hours -- but he listened to my problem.. and then told me to come over!!! He put the gate back up... and stayed to help me! What an amazing, caring doctor... He put my fears at ease and even told me if things weren't right he might still be in the office doing paperwork for about a half hour! When you love your pets, you want nothing but the best for them. When I bring my cats here, that's the level of care I know they will get. The vet tech staff is friendly, gentle and compassionate. My experience has been with Dr. Lori Weinstock so I will base my comments on that. She is caring, honest, professional and gentle. She offers multiple treatment options and will consult with specialists if need be. She is not afraid to seek out other opinions and does not have a "know it all" attitude. She is human and sometimes does not have all the answers that we wish to hear in the moment, but I admire her for never giving up trying to find the best treatment plan. She or a staff member calls to follow up after each visit. That means a lot. I know this practice does a lot of work with rescue organizations, so kudos go to them for that as well.. Yes, vet care can be expensive. Tests and meds can add up quickly. But I will say that alternative treatment plans are discussed based on cost, when that is a concern. Never have I been made to feel guilty for opting for the less costly option. Nor have I been pressured into going for the more costly option. My cats have thrived under Dr. Weinstock's care. One of my boys is quite ill and needs to be checked bi-monthly. I am not charged for anything other than meds and tests. This is an honest, caring staff who will treat your pet as if they are their own. I would not take the time to write a review if I did not feel as strongly as I do. Disgruntled people are a dime a dozen. I am dismayed at some of what I am reading here. I love Dr. Abraham's reply. I advise you to read it for further clarification.Remember, people mostly write reviews when they want to discredit something. Don't fall for that. Trust a long-term client, not a one timer. I know when I walk into Noah's Ark that my pets and I are going to be treated by a courteous, kind, knowledgeable and compassionate staff. read more

They will get bad feedback until they won't stop insisting on unnecessary procedures and overcharging people. At first they seemed nice and friendly. But they don't really care what's going on with your pet. They will prescribe the same medications that don't help to solve the dogs problem 3 times in a row and then run the same tests over and over just to keep the money coming. Finally after 6 months of prescribing the same ointment for my dog's recurring ear infection they say oh maybe it doesn't work, maybe we should run a test for fungus? Are you serious? For the 3rd time? I freaking know there is damn fungus because the previous tests showed it, you greedy people!!! After all their doctor prescribed another medication which actually helped and told to come every month to get the dog's ears cleaned. Guess what their receptionist tells me? We cannot do this without a doctors visit fee which is 49$!! Maybe the dog needs a medication for fungus she says! Jesus! Are you nuts? I already have the medication and just following the instructions of YOUR veterinarian, I'm here to do the part of the prescribed treatment. The same story with the shots... They won't get your dog vaccinated without a vet visit fee. I understand when they see the dog for the first time but I bring my pup there every month!!! Sometimes even twice a month. Yes I care about my pet. That is why I am frustrated that much. Because they see a person who cares about their dog very much and they totally take advantage of. They have good doctors, yes. Dr. Abraham is great! But others don't bother coming to. Its very sad because I thought I finally found a very good vet which I can trust, but enough Is enough. We have two dogs: a maltese, a toy poodle, and three cats: two American shorthairs and a snow bengal -- we would not take them anywhere else. Skye, our maltese suffered her entire adult life with chronic diarrhea and not one vet was able to diagnose the problem, until we found Noah's Ark. Two years ago, she suffered a seizure and was near death. She couldn't walk or even stand without falling over, her eyes were bulging and her breathing was shallow. We rushed her to Noah's Ark and found Dr. Lori Weinstock ready, willing and eager to help. She was diagosed with ultra low blood sugar and knowing that, Dr. Weinstock was able to stabilize her condition and bring her back to us. She suspected Addison's disease and recommended additional testing be done by VERG on Flatbush Avenue and we transported her there the same day. The wonderful staff at VERG continued to probe and test and confirmed Dr. Weinstock's suspicion: Skye had Addison's disease. This prevented her adrenal glands from producing the hormones her body needs and that led to the chronic diarrhea and eventually to her seizure. They prescribed a low daily dose of prednisone and Skye's diarrhea stopped immediately! She recovered wonderfully and we've enjoyed the last two years with her, pain and diarrhea free. Unfortunalely, a few weeks ago, she started to get sick again and Dr. Weinstock diagosed pancreatitiis. For the next three weeks she and her staff of loving, caring and dedicated technicians worked with Skye through two blood plasma transfusions and various medications to lessen her pain, and for a second time in her life, brought her back from the brink. Today, our Skye is thriving, running around, playing with and licking everyone she meets. I cannot say enough about Noah's Ark. Dr. Abraham, the owner of the practice, is a caring, empathetic and dedicated veterinarian and to our family (and Skye will confirm this), they are the epitome of what a competent veterinary group should be. read more

I cannot say enough about how wonderful this vet practice is. Drs. Abraham, Weinstock and Ford are total professionals; kind, thorough and always there to talk about my cat's health issues. It gives me great comfort knowing that they are always available when I am upset due to an ill animal. They are a phone call away in an emergency. I have used many other vet practices over the years, but find comfort in knowing I have found a professional, kind and caring staff. The vet tech's are amazing. They truly love the animals they are caring for, and go above and beyond caring and nurturing them. As I read some of these other Yelp reviews I am shocked at some of the negativity. These people made me think they cared about animals ; & boy - i waas wrong. i took my two baby pitbuls there to get de-wormed. the vet was nice, but i saw him for all of 5 minutes. he did not answer all of my questions, seemed like he had no time for us. meanwhile, we were the only poeple there. (Seriously). So anyway, after getting a pill each in a treat, and the bill came out to $267!! I was so confused, i didnt understand...either way, i figured they helped my pets, my babies, so i'd pay it. then realized i had only $200 in cash on me, with no credit card. once i told them that - every ora in the whole place changed! everyone turned cold, looked at me in disgust..i was so embarrassed. i live right up the block from that vet, i told them i'd come right back with the money, and they just kept telling me how wrong i was. it hurt, i thought they cared about the animals - all they really care about is money..hidden fees like crazy! ugh. if you love your animals, bring them somewhere that makes you feel comfortable, not here. its simple. read more
