This vet is so overpriced. My cat started hiding, scratching her ears and shaking her head. The All Ears website makes it easy to book appointments the night before, so I booked. Despite me telling the vet upfront that my cat was acting weird but also doing things that suggested an ear issue, they only looked at her outer ears before suggesting I do a full set of blood tests. My cat is around 7 years old, so they just gave me the quote for the adult screen and the senior screen and, with no guidance except that the senior screen also involves a thyroid test, said "you choose." Scared for my cat, of course I opted for the one that includes more tests, even though it was much more expensive and they seemed to have no insight into whether it might be a thyroid issue. Only AFTER I'd signed off on the labs and my cat was getting the bloodwork done did a nurse come into the room and suggest I also do an ear cytology to check the inner ear. Why wouldn't the vet have suggested that first?? No surprise that the ear cytology showed she had a yeast infection. What could've cost me $300 or less to diagnose and treat ended up costing me $900+. read more

Despite getting good reviews which was why I chose them, my cat got very sick after a dental cleaning and two teeth extracted. While the team was friendly, the experience surrounding my cat's dental cleaning and extractions was negligent and distressing. Despite promises of updates throughout the day, I heard nothing until I was told to pick him up. No one warned me that the 96-hour pain injection could cause severe hiding, disorientation, and refusal to eat or drink. My cat stayed under the bed for two days, not eating or drinking -- clearly in distress. I called and emailed throughout the day with increasing concern. No one responded until 4 p.m., nearly 24 hours later. When I said my cat hadn't eaten or had water in days, I was told: "Well, not extremely dangerous." As if somewhat dangerous is an acceptable standard of care. They also seemed unaware that non-bitter, non-refrigerated liquid Gabapentin exists -- something my original vet prescribed immediately once I went back to her in desperation. When I took my cat to my former vet (I moved neighborhoods), she had me drop him off immediately, gave him IV fluids, anti-nausea medication, and appetite stimulants. She sent me home with B12 injections and subcutaneous fluids to help support his recovery. Bloodwork showed his liver levels had already risen from not eating. After that treatment, he came home and ate two full cans of food in the first four hours. So clearly there were solutions other than to gaslight me. All Ears Vet charged me $2,500 and offered no follow-up care, no empathy, and no urgency. I will never return -- and I strongly urge other cat owners to go elsewhere. read more

We have a diabetic dog who needs insulin shots twice per day, and divides his time between NYC and CT. After taking our dog to All Ears, paying a fortune for an updated glucose reading, and getting the prescription card, we had it fulfilled at Costco. Costco ran out of Vetsulin, so we asked All Ears to approve the prescription via Chewy.com. All Ears told us we had to physically go to Costco, retrieve the prescription, and bring it back to them. Why can't they make a phone call? After many heated conversations, All Ears approved two vials of Vetsulin via Chewy.com. When the delivery arrived, there was only one vial. All Ears had told Chewy.com to rescind approval of two vials without bothering to contact us, hundreds of dollars later. All Ears is THE WORST vet care I've encountered in Brooklyn. Unprofessional, dishonest and apathetic. All Ears will be hearing from the NY State Veterinary Review Board. read more

Fifth and best vet I've been to in 10 years. The office is very responsible and the doctors and nurses are kind and thorough. When suggesting tests, our doctor explained what each one did, and the likelihood that they would be useful. They also listed every test, along with price, in order of importance. This allowed me to make informed decisions. The last 4 vets we've visited would just say tests were looking for X or Y serious-sounding condition. Sometimes they'd say things were "to be safe" which probably indicates they were a waste of money but how do you really know? And of course no one else lists tests in order of importance, nor tells us how much each one costs unless we ask. tl;dr Great vet, open about pricing and likelihood. Beyond the aesthetics (this place is gorgeous and doesn't feel like a vet), this practice is the real deal and has an amazing team and doctor at the helm. Powered with the knowledge of what was actually wrong with my cat vs. just being terrified at a different practice, I was able to sleep for the first time in 4 days. Dr. Fortier showed me X-rays, was extremely thorough in explaining everything and always gave me space to ask questions. I love the convenience of booking online. It's never easy to say goodbye to your fur baby, but the experience at All Ears is worth writing a review for. When I arrived they had a lovely room set up with treats for my boy and tissues for me. The doctor came in and explained the process, so I knew exactly what to expect. Then they gave me a "doorbell", so you can spend time alone with your baby and push the button when you are ready for them to come in to start. They made me feel so comfortable to sit with my boy, without any sense of rushing. I was sitting on the floor with him, he was relaxed on a big comfy bed, enjoying all the treats. When I pushed the button the doctor came in and got right on the floor with us. She again talked me through it all, was petting him and soothing him the whole time and only moved forward when I was ready. Again, this is never an easy time...but they handled everything was such kindness and care, to him and to me. My boy was relaxed and went peacefully. Highly do not recommend this place. I came here for feline bladder issues and although they were professional and understanding, the only thing they did for me was continue to book further testing for my cat, ignoring the fact that she probably needed surgery right away. I strongly suspect they damaged my cats bladder during an urinalysis. She ended up passing at emergency the next day. Here are some prices from the google review I wrote. When given the initial estimate of tests (which included annual vaccines and some other stuff at first making the bill in the $800-1000 range) they were super nice about it and did the ultrasound and x-ray for free and I paid around $260 for the first visit which includes the appointment fee ($120 but $70 after $50 off for first visit) urinalysis at $145 and anti-inflammatory (Onsior 6mg) is $48. The following tests would have been around $780-870. Complete blood panel (Chem 18, CBC) at $245 with Fructosamine added on at $177 ($214 by itself) and urine culture and sensitivity for $354 (+$120 appointment fee) read more

The Doctor, Doctor Assistant and the lady in reception are very nice and knowledgeable. I brought my ragdoll kitten with no appt for possible uti infection and they were able to accommodate me pretty quickly. But they are overpriced. They charged me $58 for anticeptic wipes which cost $15 on chewy or petsmart and $78 for clavamax which is around $25 on chewy. I wish I checked before buying. Next time I will just opt out and will buy everything from cAnyway I'm glad my pet is fine. read more

I brought my greyhound in due to a skin injury on his hind paw that I was worried was infected. My greyhound is very sweet but extremely anxious and reactive when his paws are handled by strangers. Because of this, I made it known ahead of time that he would need to be sedated before paw cleaning and inspection. I made it very clear how stressful the situation was for him, and that *full sedation* was necessary. I also stressed that I wanted his toenails to be clipped during this time, because it is extremely difficult to cut his toenails while he is conscious and alert due to his anxiety and so I always bundle toenail cutting with vet visit where sedation is required. Despite all of the context I provided to the vet, I was told afterwards that my dog "resisted" sedation and was uncooperative when the paw was being cleaned and toenails cut. When I examined his paws afterwards, the toenails were barely trimmed and the paw was only loosely cleaned. When I brought this up to the staff, they mentioned that the toenail trimming is technically "free" and because my dog was somewhat awake and struggling against it, they effectively gave up. The staff laughed and said "he wasn't having any of it," as though I would think it's funny that I just threw away $500 that I only agreed to spend in order to FULLY MAKE SURE my dog would have a successful nail trim and paw clean. My dog has had sedation, treatment + nail trimmings at other vets without issues of partial consciousness/uncooperativeness during sedation. I pay for such an expensive price for such a trivial procedure because it is not possible to do so without it, and therefore I fully expect that the staff are competent enough to 100% sedate my dog and complete the task given how expensive the price is relative to the actual effect of the service. If I wanted my dog to "not have any of it" and not allow his paw to be touched, why would we opt for sedation? To add insult to injury, I requested a refill of antibiotics a couple months later because of a setback due to someone stepping on his paw and was told I would have to come in for another paw cleaning (effectively meaning attempting more sedation for no guarantee of it working) in order to receive the antibiotics. I understand the principle of wanting to examine my dog again before prescribing meds, but under this particular situation it's completely ridiculous. Why in the world would I subject my dog to this kind of anxiety again given that they have already shown me they can't effectively clean and trim a paw even with hundreds of dollars worth of sedatives on hand? I basically never complain about service related issues and would never have even thought to make a full post about this after the initial fiasco. However, being told I would have to go through this entire rigamarole again to receive mere antibiotics was too much. Don't use this vet. read more

All Ears is fantastic! Always eager to help and explain thoughtfully and throughly. They always take great care of our two dogs and always go above and beyond to make things easier for us and ensure our dogs have what they need. Most recently our pharmacy was being difficult with an RX and Margo went above and beyond to help get it refilled so our dogs wouldn't be without. I'm new to the neighborhood so wanted to try out a new vet, and received one of their direct mail flyers. It is as nice as the photos look, and clean too. The receptionist, doctor and technicians were incredibly kind. Making an appt was so easy, and I completed all check in work prior to the visit. I was attended to right away when I checked in. The room where Rambo could roam and eat treats was spacious and beautiful. They had great covid protocols in place too. I came for his annual checkup, but my dog had an issue with his ears and they gave him treatment and a free ear cleaning. Hopefully this solves his infection in a few weeks-- regardless I will be coming back and recommending this vet to others. The doctor was informative (and educational!), not pushy about doing additional tests, and I feel good knowing my dog has great care. read more

The exam room are large and inviting, especially the king size doggie bed! All of the staff from the receptionist, veterinary assistants and the veterinarian were completely professional and extremely nice and welcoming and took the time to hear and answer all my questions. These people really care and your pet and about you! The exam rooms are well-thought-out, comfortable, and they have designed separate ones for cats and dogs, keeping their unique needs in mind. The vet techs and veterinarians are kind and gentle with the animals, communicate well with you, offer options, and are totally transparent about pricing. All the registration and info is collected online before you arrive, so no forms to fill out, and lots and lots of follow-up after a visit. They require a $150 "emergency fee" if you come in for an emergency. I was told by the person working here that this is common practice in most vet clinics. In any case, that doesn't make it less messed up and less unethical. I was told the reason behind that was that the vets were on their lunch breaks, and that would be interrupted for a walk-in. So I asked when their lunch time is and the person at the reception couldn't give me an answer, said it changes from day to day (we arrived at 2:19 pm, way past the usual lunch hours, the next available appt time was 3:30, or immediately if you drop the 150). Just admit that you want to make an extra 150 dollars off of someone's misfortune and go on, lol. And she was so offended when I calmly stated how it's pretty much objectively unethical to refuse to see an emergency case without first getting $150. So it's not a matter of unavailability, there WAS a doctor inside who could see us immediately. I just cannot fathom loving animals and having such a policy. To sit inside and enjoy my "break" while an innocent animal is having an emergency health issue a few feet away from me. As a social worker and just a decent human being I will continue to stand up for what's right and call out these unethical practices wherever I see them. Just because it's common DOES NOT MAKE IT OK. As a private vet clinic you have agency over your own practices. We as patients also have agency over what we are willing to tolerate and what we're not. Choose to not tolerate healthcare providers who run their practices more like businesses than havens of healing. We deserve better, and more importantly, animals deserve better. read more
