Unfortunately, after a few years of trying to make things work, we are at our wit's end with this greedy, money-grubbing establishment and will be switching to one of the many other options in the area. Constant recommendations for needless procedures and tests, exorbitant prices for simple services, medication prices exceeding many multiples of retail, the list goes on. It's plainly obvious that every employee is trained to constantly "upsell" as if this were a cheap nail salon. Despite being so expensive, they are careless. We have been told after a visit that they "forgot" to administer a necessary vaccine. At one point, they charged our credit card with well over $150 in unauthorized charges which they removed quickly (but unremorsefully) when caught. Although many of the vets and employees are very kind and clearly care, the establishment itself is all about profit and it shows. This review is for Dr. Bloomfield. He was my beagle's doctor for about two years. In my 12 years of beagle ownership, I wish I had the pleasure of working with Dr. Dan more. Out of all the vets we had, I was the most comfortable with him. He understood how ridiculously anxious, stressed out and insane my dog could get at the vet. If there were more doctors like him, there would be more trust in the vet industry. I never felt pressured by him, or the team and felt we got great care. Everyone was pleasant, the office is very pretty and the portal is super convenient. My beagle boy passed away last year and I'm very grateful that Dr. Bloomfield was the last vet we had. I bought my 6.4 pound pomeranian there before examination i told them he bites when he scared and they replied happens all the time no worries even said she goes through it alot after trying to put a cone on him he bites a worker and they automatically cancelled the appointment and sent us home . What a 40 minute drive just to realize they not trained for dogs not even the little ones. ive been to 20 plus vets he give a little bite they get the cone on and continue the job. Bond Vet is the absolute best vet chain in NYC. They are so caring and helpful and they always go above and beyond for my pup Abraham. Abe is a difficult pup at he vet. However, Bond Vet handles him with grace and love EVERY TIME!! Bond Vet has a large selection of free treats to make the vet less scary for its fury guests. I can always depend on a vat of chicken Jerky to get us through our visit. Abraham recently had his teeth cleaned. They treated him like a king. Abe also pooped in his private room while they were watching him before the cleaning. They cleaned him up and made him feel safe. We really appreciated this!! He was in so much pain after but BV gave us explicit care instructions and that helped us care for our good boy. We have been going to this location since May of 2019. The pandemic was tough but man did they still do their best to keep pets and pet parents at ease. Their outdoor parent waiting area was brilliant. I want to be the best dog mom I can be. Bond Vet is my key to success!! They take a majority of insurance policy's for pets and can even help you find the right insurance company for you!! We got them done and they wouldn't update their records and tried to give the vaccines to our dog again a few weeks later. If I hadn't been on top of it, I wouldn't have ever known. I started taking my dog here to treat a complication from a knee surgery done by a different vet. I felt the vet was knowledgeable and had the resources to figure out the cause of the issue since the complication was uncommon. She provided two treatment options and thoroughly discussed the pros and cons so we could make an informed decision. My dog is now healthy again and running around like normal. It took approximately 3 months to get through the process given 1) Bond Vet didn't respond to several emails I sent to them following up with the doctor who saw my dog 2) Additional information from Bond Vet was needed to review my request which I was never advised about 3) I was told conflicting information on whether the vet was willing to write a letter stating that it wasn't 100% clear allergies (the pre-existing condition) caused my dog's ear infection. Anyways, not mad at the folks that take care of the animals here and it's ok to think you can write a letter for insurance purposes, review additional information, and change your mind. I'm just upset that the lack of communication felt like it came from a place of 'let's just see if this person gets tired of following up over 3 months'. Further, when I asked why they weren't responding to all of my emails they just said we are understaffed which felt like an "I'm owned by a private equity company" - which they are - type of answer. They said they are slow in responding to emails and then I pointed out after several months it appears no one ever intended to respond to said emails.. which is not just being slow which they agreed to and just said again, they are understaffed which I guess means they choose which emails to respond to or not? My dog needed her pain meds refilled. I went to the bond vet website and placed an order, but after two days the meds weren't approved by the vet. I called the office and asked if I could just pick them up instead, and was told yes. When I got to them, their price was $80 more than what's was charged online! All they want to discuss is the money and when they actually get around to seeing your pet, they rush it to the point that you're left with a hundred questions of follow up and diagnosis. They take on too much work to bill as much as possible, and then don't deliver on basic services. So much information gets overlooked and they make it seem like it's your fault. Their prices are often +25% higher than others, and when they do procedures, they don't even show you the imaging of what your pet was in for. Bond is good for general care, but do not go here for any urgent medical cases. My dog was suspected to having prostate cancer and they would book me follow up appointments with a week cadence. My dog was slowly declining and they really lacked any sense of urgency. I was told three times that they would call back to schedule an ultrasound and no one ever called me back. When my dog was at his end, I took matters into my own hands and went to an emergency vet. They contacted bond multiple times to send over forms that needed to be signed by a specialist since they had seen my dog the most recent. Bond refused to sign the papers, said they "had no doctors in", then claimed they just never got them. The next day I had to put my dog down because we waited too long and no care options were available. If you need a few shots here and there, Bond is fine. But please seek another care center for more pressing medical matters. read more

Honestly love Bond Vet because of its consistent service across locations and convenience! We were UES visitors prior to moving to Cobble Hill and we really appreciate that our pup PULLS every time we near Bond Vet. She really wants to go in! Part of it is that she gets to socialize a bit with other pups in the waiting room, but I think she just also gets treated well by the staff. The vet techs are always so patient with her when they coax her onto the scale to get weighed. Plus, I love that the pups get a complimentary goody bag of single ingredient treats every visit! I should have listened to the reviews here. We saw an ad for Bond Vet but didn't read the fine print. The $25 first time visit only applies to certain locations. All the staff seemed very nice, the space was clean. We met with one of their vets for ~15 mins to discuss my cat's health, which is stellar but he suggested she need a "stage 2" (not dire, no extractions) dental and that their staff would email us a quote. Cool. So we paid $125 for a 15-min exam. Okay, that's NYC we thought. Fine. Later that evening their concierge dental team emails me a quote of between $2100-$2600. Lol! Are you kidding me. Why not just pull a gun on us instead? Online scammers don't even ask for this much through email. For a standard pet service, which now having researched it should cost ~$200-$600 (what it should cost nationwide, tops!), even for NYC this estimate is atrocious. I emailed back politely asking them to delete our card on file and that we have lost trust in a business that would charge such an inflated price. After adopting a dog and falling in love with her, I found out the dog needed very expensive knee surgery. An ex employee of Bond raved about Dr. Renee McDougal, who did the surgery at a fraction of the price quoted by Blue Pearl. Dr McDougal had the same credentials as the other veterinarian... and she did an amazing job! The dog had no pain or swelling visible and is healing great. Dr McDougal is a total professional who explained every detail to me in depth and furnished all the necessary medications (and instructions) to keep my dog comfortable. She responded to my urgent emails ("my questions ") immediately. As a retired dentist, I really appreciated her expertise. Her assistant Monae is a gem and the place ran like clockwork. I highly recommend this veterinary clinic, especially Dr. McDougall! read more

And they add on $250 if done under 30 days but their own website states to contact them between 15-30 days and the certificates are valid a max 30 days. Disgusting rip off. Additionally, they claim to be upfront about pricing but will charge $125 for a wellness check even if you are just coming in for a vaccine update or appointment. In vaccinating our 10-13 week old pup, we have spent $800 at Bond Vet. The exact same set of vaccines can be gotten at Vetco for less than $300 and even free if you attend a clinic by NYC ACC. If you are curious about how much they up-charge see below: - They charged $130 for the DA2PP + Lepto (6 in 1) combo vaccine. This is available at Vetco for $52. - They charged $65 for Rabies vaccine. This is available at Vetco for $22. - They charged $65 for a Bordatella vaccine. This is available at Vetco for $42. On top of the insane price inflation, just stepping inside they will charge for a "wellness check" which costs $125. The docs and staff are extremely nice and the decor looks like a recently funded startup from 2016. I personally wouldn't pay extra for that. read more

Staff seem more focused on running up charges than the care of the pets or the communication with owners. Downloading files from their app is inconsistent at best. I've never seen the same vet twice - and have been going there for 3 years. Though my dog had gone to them less than 4 months ago (the visit at which they'd given my dog a heartworm test), they require a full vet exam in order to renew a flea, tick, and Heartworm prevention medicine. My dog recently fell ill, and they could/would not fit him in - telling me he couldn't get an appointment for 2 weeks, forcing me to take a stressed dog to an unfamiliar animal hospital. read more

Good app concept, modern office (even in COVID times), etc. However, their lackluster execution of routine veterinary care has left us scratching our heads after multiple visits. - Whether it was the time they botched an appointment time when we had made the appointment a month in advance and had an email trail confirming the time in writing. My partner and I both work and scheduled around this visit. - Whether it was the time that the veterinarian "was unsure" of the vaccines that our dog had received previously, and proceeded to guess until we asked them to review his chart. - Whether it was the time when, during a visit, they FORGOT to vaccinate our for the treatments which we had agreed to at the time of initiating his care. The only reason we knew they forgot is because we looked at the visit report to find the vaccine missing. We called the office to confirm. "Oversight" was the claim. - Whether it was the time where we got "it depends, I don't know" as medical advice regarding whether our dog was fully vaccinated. This is a binary yes or no question. - Or whether they did not send any report of his last visit to us via email after asking for one. We literally have no idea what happened when he was taken to the back of the office. We were never charged and have no paper trail confirming any procedure / appointment. We kept giving Bond Vet chances, and no amount of free treats or branded tennis balls will restore our trust in their providing adequate care to our furry family member. Oversight is okay when you leave tomatoes on my sandwich by accident, not when we are paying hundreds of dollars for a medical service. 2/5 stars because from what we can tell, our dog is fine, but I mean how can we be sure? Shocked by how rude & sanctimonious the Vet was, especially after I had to wait nearly 3 hours to be seen. I'll give her grace as she seemed really stressed, but I basically got lectured about everything except what I was actually there for. I felt more like I was being interrogated than helped by a medical professional. EXTREMELY expensive for what you get considering all the other clinics in the area. I wanted to give this place a shot as I was sucked in by the good reviews and slick aesthetic. Also, this was before the "first visit" deal so I got to pay $300 to wait for hours and be told my dog (who has never bitten, barked, or even growled at another human) had "behavioral problems" because he was wiggling around during his physical examination. Keep in mind he's 15 pounds and calmed down when the Tech held him during the exam. Considering how aggressive other dogs get at the vet I was completely blown away, especially because I had just gone to check on a possible ear infection, which he actually ended up not having. We adopted our dog and took her here to get a check up. Everyone was so incredibly nice -- the staff clearly loves their jobs and lavished affection on our dog. She needed some follow up, and the doctor left a 2+ minute message detailing everything that we needed to know and setting forth to all of our options. When she needed to be spayed, they sent us pics of her waiting for surgery and the doctor called afterwards to break it all down for us. They diagnosed her with dental disease and were very helpful every step of the way in providing a treatment plan that was not too overwhelming for a new pet owner like myself! They answered all of my questions (I had a lot!) and were in constant contact with me during her procedure. They also have a great app, surgery concierge service, and messaging platform that I've used when I've been unable to reach someone over the phone. The space is very nice, clean, and spacious. The prices are surprisingly in line with other vets in the area as well. I haven't always had the greatest interactions with vets, but my experience today at Bond has definitely changed my perspective. I brought in my four year old Westie, Bella, for her annual wellness exam, and my first impression of Bond through social media and Yelp was that they are clean, aesthetic, and very customer-centric. The fact that they open until 10pm every day is a huge game-changer for someone who commutes 1 hour, each way, to work. Upon checking in, the receptionist had us seated in their benches, that are separated in sections, in case you want some privacy away from the other dogs in the waiting area. She then brought her laptop over to ask a few questions for check-in, making it so much more personable and comfortable for you and your fur baby to not have to leave your seat. As for the actual visit, I love how honest they are with pricing. The assistant asked what we needed to get done for our visit, typed it into the laptop, and then gave me the estimate before the vet came in to ensure transparency before the vet even came in. Dr. Jeremy was really great! My previous experience with vets have been disappointing because I've always found that they would try to add on unnecessary services or meds, causing the bill to be an insane amount. However, when I talked to Dr Jeremy, he reassured me that I did not have to worry about dental cleaning this year, and instead, he provided a great online resource for me to help with Bella's plaque buildup. Again, can't recommend this Team enough! Will definitely be bringing Bella back. read more

Don't buy medications there unless you want to pay a lot of money for meds that are super cheap. This is what happened: I did a Telehealth visit, and my cat was recommended an eye ointment. I wasn't told how much it was until I got to the Williamsburg location. They also didn't give me the option of picking it up at another place, or pharmacy. I went to their location, I paid and a person (assuming a Vet) came out and without asking unscrewed the tube "to show me how to use it" also without asking if I knew how to use these type of eye ointments, which I knew how. I left thinking I bought some fancy eye medication for my kitty, -because of the price- and then later that night I realized it was simply Erythromycin. -Now I'm upset because I wish I asked first- I'm in the health industry and I'm super familiar with this medication. If I was told what ointment my cat was getting "prescribed" I would have purchased it somewhere else because I know it's inexpensive, and online at a few PetRx sites, the same brand and quantity they gave me, goes for $13.89. So that means that the price was inflated more than triple, (I paid $64) and unfortunately now I can't return it because the peep at the store opened it without permission. I emailed and called and took them forever to get back to me. When they emailed back, the only two things they said was that they don't give refund for any meds that leave the store, open or unopened, (so take notes) and that they sale the med for that price because they don't buy in bulks. Well, just for everyone to know, I've purchased the same medication from my original Vet (small, only one location, so they don't buy in bulk either) for $26 dollars. I've been to this vet a few times now and honestly I would not recommend. It looks super cute and inviting, very trendy and decorated well. SOME of the staff are great and seem to really care about your pet. The last 2 times I've been I've just had bad experiences. They charge abnormal prices for things and add on unnecessary additional things (I've done the research at other vets and trust me, they are overcharging). Let's put it this way, $1200 for a couple X-rays? I was quoted next day for $275 elsewhere. My appointment was not an emergency visit, I made an appointment a day in advance and not during after hours. And for what? Administered without consent. This is what the vet did when I took my new pup for his first visit. I knew about three vaccines dogs should have and during a first visit, the vet said he should have a fourth vaccination. This one was unknown to me so I approved 3 of 4 vaccines pending a conversation with my partner as we should both be aligned on the care of our dog. The vet was rude and condescending, presumably about not agreeing immediately, also telling me he should be on the food they sell there, all while she was yelling at someone in the background. When I received the email with the visit summary and bill, they listed 4 vaccines as administered. I called them immediately and they told me my pup received all four and when I told them that I explicitly told the vet I was going to speak to my partner, they back-tracked and said they weren't sure if he received it or not but if it's on the record, he must have. They weren't sure? So when I discussed with my partner and we agreed he should have the 4th vaccine as he is primarily based in the city, we weren't sure if he had it or not. How completely absurd. We unfortunately had to return for a follow-up and he needed to be weighed for medication. During this visit, and according to Bond Vet, the pup was apparently was left unattended to run around the office after chewing through a leash. That was the end of our relationship with Bond and good riddance. read more

Unprofessional customer service and attempted to charge for more. I took my cat in about a year ago to get her rabies vaccine. Since my cat had a rabies previously she was qualified to get the 3-year vaccination. I doubled check with Bond to make sure she was qualified. My cat ended up getting a 1-year vaccine. When I called, they admitted they "made a mistake". I asked for a refund on the extra money and they told me the 1-year and 3-year costs the same, so I asked further if I could take my cat in a year later to get a new 3-year rabies for free since they messed up. They had the audacity to say no and would need to charge for it if that's the case. WHAT?? Your staff made a mistake and I have to pay for the mistake you caused? So ridiculous. So this year I have to take my cat to get a rabies vaccine again. Money is just one thing, but I hate to have my cat go through the process again because she's not a fan of going to vet. CUSTOMER'S BEWARE: On August 28th, I made an emergency appointment with Bond Vet (Clinton Hill office) regarding my two year old cat RL. My cat was dry heaving, stopped eating, lethargic and had muscle tremors. I explained to the Dr. and attending Nurse a complicated history of what may or may not have caused RL to become ill. I took all of the Vets suggestions except transdermal Mirtazapine under his skin because at the time RL was still drinking water at home and the vet said he was not dehydrated. RL was given an anti nausea injection and sent home with the expectation that if he was still sick, he would return. RL did not get better. RL remained lethargic, continued to dry heave, stopped eating and drinking water. I was notified by the Vet that though his blood tests revealed an increased white blood count, I should disregard it because it was a stress leukogram (which usually affects dogs not cats). I continued to follow Vets instructions at home. Four days later RL was not better. I expressed my concern to the vet again and was told that if I was truly worried, to take RL to the ER. In addition, I was told if he didn't eat or drink, RL would need X-rays and the transdermal Mirtazapine and more anti nausea meds. I took RL to his regular vet Dr. C. (I only used bond vet because it was closer to me and had an immediate slot open.) Dr. C took RL's history and read Bond Vet's blood test results. He prescribed a bath, an anti inflammatory injection for the dry heaves and antibiotics for the infection. Two days later RL was all better and back to his normal; no dry heaving, muscle tremors, full of energy, playful, eating and drinking. Bond Vet charged me $486 and that was AFTER the $100 coupon for booking online. If RL had improved, I would have gladly paid and not cared. He's my fur baby! Dr. C charged me $163. But I'm highly annoyed that I paid nearly $500 dollars for incompetence and then had to pay more to have RL treated properly. I feel scammed. Can you imagine if I had continued to follow Bond Vet's plan of care? I would have spent more money and RL would not have gotten better. Anti nausea meds treat symptoms, not the cause. The Bond Vet dismissed their own blood test results and dismissed my concerns about them as well. I cannot recommend this clinic. I've been through a few vets with my two pups and I find in NYC that they often make mistakes or try to upsell you on things. Bond Vet was not only super transparent about cost but incredibly thoughtful and kind. They treated the issues plain and simple and even spent some time playing with my pups. They give ample treats, are gentle and have great rates! Our vet (a nice guy who's name I forgot) was super knowledgeable and friendly Oh and let's not forget that incredible waiting room that feels like you're in a spa! So modern! Bond Vet - Cobble Hill - The boys waiting for some medical attention - Veterinarians Near Me - Brooklyn, New York

After my experience with the Park Slope location, I didn't have high hopes for the Cobble Hill location and I was right. As we sat in the waiting area it was brought to the front desk woman attention that two mistakes were made with other patients within the last hour and one needed to be contacted to come back. Prescriptions weren't given out properly. Check your labels, make sure you have the correct stuff and if you truly care get a second opinion somewhere else!!! Back to my boy. Back in March my cat had dental surgery. After the procedure Dr Gabrielle Fadl called and said my cat had 12 bad teeth. She said 5 were pulled at 7 were cracked so she put a sealant on them which would hold him over for a bit but they'll need to be removed. My first couple thoughts were okay why not pull them all since he was under anesthesia and why expose him to another surgery. Yesterday we had another appointment for his "cracked teeth". Another doctor did an exam and said he found zero cracked teeth and that he had 6 pulled teeth. Said he tried getting in contact with Fadl but her response was brief and he had no direct answers to why I was informed incorrectly. So did she call me with the wrong patients information or was his information entered wrong? Considering his physical exam showed 6 teeth were out proves she did call me with someone else information. Someone else poor pet doesn't know they have 7 cracked teeth and may have an infection or be in pain. A lot of "mistakes" seem to happen in this location, which is horrifying! read more

This place just gets it. They're a perfect mix of modern technology and pet-centric thinking. The waiting room is set up in a way that makes everyone feel better about being at the vet, owners included. The seating has nooks and levels so your pet can have a little privacy and space from other pets and there's an apple store-esque screen keeping you up to date on your wait time. They're open until 10pm which is a total lifesaver for those of us who work until 6 or 7pm. They create a lot of transparency with you about the whole experience by giving you an itemized agenda with pricing before the exam happens. I took my little guy in for a routine exam tacked onto a not-so-routine eye scratch. The staff was so sweet with him and handled all the procedures quickly and gently. They kept me really informed about what was happening and all the follow up care instructions. They were really thoughtful about every aspect of the exam and it was really calming for both me and my cat. And um, can we talk about the branding they have going on? From the site to the interior it's incredibly well executed. The site's colors and illustrations come to play in the space's furnishings, decor and products. There's little 'moments' all over the space like a treat station for pets, quotes along the wall at doggie eye-level and little vignettes of books and pet products that you actually want to pick up and examine.
