We chose to have a half sonogram which showed a mass and followed up with a full sonogram which showed several masses connected to his liver. Not operable By running blood tests and stool samples would have added hundreds to a bill and would be totally unnecessary. These are the things that show me they care and are not taking advantage of you. We decided not to wait even though Bully wasn't in real pain but uncomfortable as there was no telling when he would be but it would be very soon. After a day of visiting his favorite neighbors, treats and love we brought him in. This was the saddest but easiest euthanasia I have had to do in my life. My baby wasn't screaming in pain, seizing or uncomfortable. He liked Dr. Macri and since he was just there was not suspicious, nervous. He went to sleep and left us calmly, easily. My cat was given excellent care, and I appreciated Dr. Catherine Walsh's thoroughness and explanations. GSIVS provides an important service to Staten Island when a pet is in need of care and one's primary veterinarian is not available. Dr. Catherine Walsh was very caring. After an evening of dealing with multiple cases of trauma, she provided care for my lethargic, but stable cat as though each case she treats is equally important. The staff prioritize as necessary while making every case feel valuable.

I was told that I needed to see a cardiologist. The cardiologist was only available on Thursday's. They tell me it's okay to bring max home until then and that I NEEDED to see the specialist. Saw the $1,000 specialist who told me my cat had 6-9 months to live and off the bat said well "it's severe" in the most obvious tone. We had no idea. He was also very insensitive and clearly rising to see the next patient. The next day, my cat goes into heart failure again. I rushed him to the hospital and he unfortunately declined so quickly that he passed once I brought him in. I know sometimes there's no way of knowing. However, I don't know how he DIDNT see the severity and tell me that it may be sooner than later. Nonetheless, as my maxie passed there and I was asked if I wanted to say goodbye- they brought him in with his eyes and mouth wide open and no blanket over him. It was the most traumatic experience I and my fiancé ever had with an animal and now all I see is that picture in my head. I will never go back to this hospital and never recommend them for this reason. There was no logical reason for them to present him like this and I am still furious. While battling grief as traumatic as it already was, I just have flashbacks of this moment because of them. I wish I brought him elsewhere where he would've been respected. It felt entirely disrespectful for the ending of a beautiful life.

We had a older Carin Terrier who was cared for SO WELL by these guys, throughout her eye removal surgery (elsewhere), her recovery and eventual passing away. The doctor and staff there were AMAZING to us during that difficult time, and have remained so ever since, caring for BOTH of our current dogs. I see lots a super negative reviews here and while I do know that these people possibly had very different circumstances and experiences than us, we have nothing but great things to say about them. I feel nothing but welcomed and helped here, and feel nothing but friendly, loving care for our babies. Each and every doctor has made us feel safe and well-guided through every step.

They refused to tell me the price of the bloodwork and a minor procedure that was "required" for said procedure(which is confirmed false by multiple other vet places and ASPCA). They also did tests and other stuff that I did not consent to or was aware of, I was informed only after everything was done. For example, their reason for administrating the FIV test (without our consent) is to "protect my staff", what a load of bs, FIV cannot be transmitted through humans, and the vet even complimented my cat's gentle personality and docile demeanor. They definitely pick and choose who to target. Avoid this place at all cost, there are way better options on the island or in Brooklyn.
