Some time ago, I found a kitten in the street and he had a wound on it's abdomen. I took him to Noah's Ark in Brooklyn. I have gone there many times with my very large dog to see the vet and for boarding and had been pleased. They treated the kitten and after a few days sent him home stating he had a touch of diahrea. He was sent home with a liquid to put in his mouth 2x a day and low-residue food. Well they did not tell me it would foam up in his mouth. He would spit it out immeditately. After a few days of struggling to treat him, I took him back and told them to keep him there and treat him. I picked him up 2 weeks later and he still had diarrhea. I was so pissed! I wasted so much money (just over $1,000) between boarding and medical bills, to only bring home a sick kitten again. I ended up having to go to another vet. This vet was very honest and understood that I had already spent a lot of money and offered a cheaper and easier solution. They gave my little kitty a shot and some pills. That was 100% easier to give him. He slowly got better. Wished I would have brought him there first. Could not imagine why Noah's Ark did not give me a pill, especially after I complained many many times about the liquid. For this reason, I would never go back or recommend. read more

They don't know what they are doing. Explained the costs and took several blood tests to see why she was throwing up. Did a few x-rays and had to put her to sleep for that-after I told them she would lie still if I held her. After all this they simply said, :we don't know why she is throwing up: Suggested she stay a few days on IV with more charges. I took her home and fed her water-she was fine the next day- read more

This place is beyond disgusting and the owners and their family i think it is their family are absolutely rude and are only in the business for money and it's a shame. From the moment I walked in the door less than a month ago I smelled a stench that was horrendous, I was not greeted and there was not only employee there working. That's per se the least of my concerns considering this is my first puppy ever and I had a lot of questions all of which were dismissed or answered in a negative manner that made me feel stupid. I'm very upset at this establishment and it I will be looking for other recommendations, but definitely will not be returning here. Don't recommend this place at all, you want to go to a vet where you and your loved one such as your dog or cat feel welcome and a passion for helping the animals but this place is solely about making money, and charging a fortunate also. I was taken back by the lady at the front desk who immediately had no empathy or support for me when I had to make the toughest decision of my life and she brushed it off and was in a hurry. An acquaintance of mine used to work as a veterinary technician assistant over here, and when I needed some immediate care for my dog (I found a large tumor near her back leg that I feared was cancer), he highly recommended the place. I don't know what the problem is with so many of the other reviews on here, but my experience was 100% positive! Dr. McBean was my dog's veterinarian and she was absolutely awesome, along with both of the techs, Marina and Raquel! I could tell right from the get-go that all three of these ladies sincerely care about the well-being of each and every pet that comes through those doors. Everything was explained to me in basic terms and nothing was ever forced upon me. Every single service that they were suggesting was itemized on a bill prior to me paying anything whatsoever. Once I approved the services, we got down to business and they performed all the tests I approved. They were incredibly gentle with my dog who is a 10 year old Rottweiler and lab mix who does have some pain in her legs. They made sure to support her entire body and be very kind and gentle with her because she can be a bit finicky. We did the blood test as well as a bunch of other tests to rule out cancer. I received follow-up phone calls in a very timely manner, and everything was explained to me in terms that I can understand. When I needed further clarification and my veterinarian was not there, the owner of the practice himself, Dr. Abraham was happy to get on the phone and spend a good 20 minutes explaining everything to me in detail. I can tell you for certain that he was very genuine and really had my dog's best care in mind. I have nothing but good things to say about this company and I am glad to write them this review. Color me completely shocked! I'm incredibly surprised at the reviews I see here, especially because they reflect just about as much of an opposite experience from mine as possible! I brought a dog into their office last week with AMA Animal Rescue. They do so much work with this amazing rescue, so right there off the bat you know that they are concerned for the wellbeing of animals and not just the money! The dog I brought in was incredibly matted, we thought she just needed a grooming...but as soon as the vet saw her, it all changed. She had a massive tumor on her belly. The vet and the vet techs were incredibly compassionate when dealing with us and the poor dog. One week later, I just picked her up after she had extensive surgery and other care. The vet and technician took plenty of time with me to explain all of her medication and other needs. More time than any other veterinarian has ever taken with me before! They all knew who the dog was, what her habits and special needs were...everyone, including the front desk guy were so nice and caring! And just another note...it's ironic that all the reviews here say that this office is just in it for the money. I was waiting in the lobby when a man came out with his dog. He specifically told the guy at the front desk how much he appreciated the vet there because they didn't oversell him on things he needed to do for his dog! He said "she's real and considerate. She told me that some of the things I wanted to have done were unnecessary and too expensive!" It's unfortunate that people really only write reviews and reach out when they've had a bad experience or have negative feelings...I would definitely bring my own dogs here if I lived closer and appreciate all the work they've done with the rescue!! read more

Noah's Ark is callous in their treatment of dogs and their owners. It is apparent that they are in the veterinary business for money only. It is not for their love of animals. My puppy had been coming to Noah's Ark since the first week I got her. When she was just over a year old I came home from work and noticed she was very sick. I didn't know what was wrong but I knew she was sick. I called Noah's Ark and it was 30 minutes before they closed. I live 10 minutes away and they refused to let me bring my puppy in because the "doctors have to get ready to go". I was rejected and took my puppy to VERG and she had to undergo major operation. Her kidney had to be removed. A good vet will not turn a sick animal away especially during business hours. But an exceptional vet will see your furry friend even after hours when there is an emergency involved. There are exceptional vets in town. Noah's Ark is not one. They only care about taking your money caring for animals is not the priority. read more

This review is based on an experience I had back in the summer of 2009. My then 7-year-old previously very healthy Persian cat was suffering from overheating. My brilliant former roommate decided the best thing to do on the hottest day of that summer was to close all the windows, turn off all the fans, and sweat. Which is exactly what my cat did. When my regular vet couldn't see him immediately, I frantically searched the internet for other vets close by. I found Noah's Ark, called immediately, and was told to come right in. The receptionists were great. I literally collapsed crying right in front of the door, convinced my cat was going to die. If I recall correctly, I didn't have to wait very long. The 1 star comes from the interaction with the doctor. I can't for the life of me remember his name, but he was condescending, rude, and when I opted not to do xrays (which I had just done a few months before), he basically told me my cat was going to die from being overheated and that I was a bad pet owner. Needless to say, that did not happen. All my cat needed was some fluids and a few medications, and he was perfectly fine. I took him to my regular vet for a follow-up, and he couldn't believe they wanted to do xrays for something that simple, especially since I have previously worked in vet hospitals and knew exactly what was going on. My dog had a rash which was being treated at noahs ark as an infection with antibiotcs and antibiotic baths. During one of the baths noticed a small lump in the skin and brought the dog to animal medical center which revealed lymphoma of the skin. Vets at noah's ark are lost in space but know how tocharge. read more

Too sad Dr.Abraham does not follow up on the messages on this social network, but someone else on behalf of him who cares about his own interests. And thanks to Yelp that does not erase bad reviews, Big Respect. I posted that message hoping Dr. Abraham will see it and would like to know what have happened. However, it seems he is indifferent. We will find another better than yours vet clinic that is for sure. And I also wanted to let people know about our experience in yours. Yet, to answer to your comments, I follow all protocols and restrictions, and especially due to COVID-19, and never curst on your staff, but on your way of managing your clinic during this hard time. I came with a sick dog for our appointment from NJ that took me an hour just one way. When I expressed my feelings (Saying shitty information) after being asked to fill out the same information that you already had in your computer, I was told that I was not respectful and my dog would not be allowed to be seen by Dr. Abraham. Needless to say that then I was asked to present my and my dog's vaccination cards that we did not have because your staff failed to mention that during scheduling our appointment, especially seeing that we were not coming from NYC and were not seen by Dr. Abraham for couple of years. (In NJ we do not carry our vaccine cards) Yes I was upset and asked why no one asked us to bring all these for the appointment. But instead of apologizing about bad situation that my dog was sick and you did not allow him to be seen by Dr. Abraham, we were treated as criminals and your manager wanted to call police on us, because I asked to have Dr. Abraham to say that we were not allowed to be seen by him due to your bad management. We had no choice and we left back home, and my dog was still sick. That young lady who called herself a manager (she refused to give her name to me) is not animal lover and she is a bad manager. I know Dr. Abraham for many years and too sad that he is surrounded by a bad team! Animals lovers would never turn away a sick animal! Shame on you! (FYI, you can ask all those customers who were next to me at that time if i curst at your staff. This is where I take my two cats. Thankfully, they don't need to go to the vet very often. When they do, the staff takes good care of them and the prices are reasonable. I like Noah's Ark so much that I have repeatedly stopped in or called to ask questions that didn't required an appointment. I really like talking to one of the vet techs, who is often at the front counter. I think her name is Faye. She's very patient when answering my questions. Also, they truly care about animals. They house cats that are up for adoption. I adopted one of my cats from here and he's in excellent health and has a wonderful disposition. :-) read more

We love Dr. Weinstock! She is always compassionate, caring and non-alarmist when diagnosing our dog. I've left vets who've recommended pricy treatment with zero lower cost alternatives, which, oh yeah, they want to start administering that minute. Bad sign. Dr. Weinstock takes the prognosis and financial reality into account when suggesting treatment for your pet, and I've never once felt that she didn't know her stuff cold. She also goes through what is happening to your pet step by step, so you actually understand it. The staff is awesome, too. They always shower our pooch with love and she, of course, eats it up. Very upset with this practice. We don't mind paying a price that we were quoted, but when I call and am quoted one price, then when my daughters called and quoted another price- it leaves a bad taste. When we inform the front desk that we have a paper with the original quote, and we are told not to worry, and yet we get charged a greater amount without an apology- it shows a lack of care. Harassing your clients because you made a mistake is not To the owner,if you lie about procedure and can't apologize- you're at fault. It's easy to understand this. Noah's Ark has been my vet for my dogs Blackjack (9 years)and Mikey (5 years) since they were born. The entire office has always been professional, supportive, knowledgeable and caring. I came with my Son in law a few months ago and was very upset with this clinic.This place has semi good reviews and decided to try out the place since we are new in the area. My neighbor had told me the prices have gone up and don't tell you what you're being charged until afterwards, and the staff in the back even talk about you behind your backs! They think they dont know that we heard but we heard it alright, Terrible place. & the Blonde receptionist is extremely rude and over charges your card and doesn't look like she knows what she's doing. The lady before me said she had the same problem on her card as well. She should not be a receptionist in my opinion. On top of that, the boarding place is a monstrosity. Barely any room for the dogs to move and this clinic is just a waste of money. I Doubt this place even has a boarding license by the looks of it! Do not recommend. Ask to see this place first and then decide weather or not you would want your fur baby staying there. My son in law and I were extremely upset with place. Will be looking elsewhere. To the insecure doctor - Brian Abraham. The poor quality food was given to my pet on the advice of one of your doctors when I first brought my cat to your clinic. I can attach the picture of her writing if you wish. I've never met a doctor who's arguing with his clients, and justifying their actions as much as you do. I'd like to suggest that you invest your energy in treating and caring for animals instead of writing comments on every review you get. That seems to me that you are insecure and care more about your image than anything else. You and your staff should acknowledge your mistakes and improve your services instead of being defensive and blaming your customers for your own negligence. And yes, my cat was misdiagnosed. You never sent his urine to check for bacteria, and you never consulted with me about that. I brought my feline to a different vet, and I was told that you prescribed random antibiotics that was doing more harm than good. Noah's Ark is a fine practice thanks to Dr. Lori Weinstock. Unfortunately the same cannot be said for Dr. Amy Ford. She has been a bully to forcefully continue to push treatments on my dog, while in the same breath having just said that he was doing fine. Dr. Ford is clearly interested in lining her own pockets at the expense of animal lovers. She will quickly give you an estimate of her recommendations and guilt you until you follow along her orders. I can not say enough good things about Noah's Ark. My dog Emmy loves when we go to Noah's so she can hang out with the staff. She literally sprints towards the vet's door when we get there because she's so excited. She's a super hyper dog but they manage her energy wonderfully. A few months ago my cat was peeing all over my apartment and the vets and vet techs worked hard to find the cause and assure me that everything would work out. They also work closely with a rescue group that takes on difficult cases and I've watched them handle these difficult cases with so much compassion and professionalism. I will never ever take any of my animals to another vet after receiving this level of care, kindness, and expertise at Noah's Ark. I've had only excellent experiences to share. read more

I know that Noah's Ark did everything possible to extend his life and to give him a good quality of life. Someone else arrived, and was pretty promptly shown in to be seen. I asked, and was told I'm next. Fantastic. After waiting 45 minutes, I go to walk out. Oh, sure NOW there's a room ready for me as soon as I tell her to cancel the appointment. No one had even left.. it's just magically available. Maybe for the next poor sap that walks in, but not me. My wife and I were very upset after our first veterinarian retired after going there for seven years. We had very little problems during that time and never had a exchange of words with anyone there. So, we had to find another vet. We didn't thoroughly investigate and just listened to someone's recommendation to use Noah's Ark. Boy.... did we make a big mistake. In 2018, we thought by meeting Dr. Abraham we found the right doctor for our dog. WRONG! He pawned us off to one of his associates who is one of the nicest. Dr. Lori Weinstock. As time went on our dog as she is getting older started having some issues. Dr. Weinstock would get booked up pretty fast. Then Dr. Abraham replaced the third veterinarian with another loving and caring person, Dr. Oneeka McBean. She gave us different advice from the others because she was the youngest or should I say newcomer. Unfortunately, in the last few months Noah's Ark's ratings have gone down from when we started from a 4.6 to a 3.6. That's pretty bad! Dr. McBean has been out ill and has not returned since mid June. So they are down one doctor. Dr. Weinstock was only working the max 2x a week so she was unavailable. Dr. Abraham had to pick up the slack since it's his practice and work many days to help as many patients as he could. The work became on overload in this place and many patients started complaining. As we are in a Pandemic and we all have to try to be a little more patient than normal. A big shout out to Richie, Nicki, Linai and all the rest of the techs that work very hard there. Unfortunately, they have to put up with the abuse from Dr. Abraham and his wife Elise or should I say from reading the last years reviews "the nasty blond in the reception area". She is one nasty, unprofessional woman who sounds like she has a Bipolar disorder. One minute she acts sweet and the next minute she is very fresh. Plus she taught her assistant "Diane" how to be just as rude on the phone. The Abraham's had a nerve to ask Richie to call us and ask us to "part ways" My wife left several messages with Dr. Abraham but he became very unprofessional and of course he will side with his wife. NO RETURN PHONE CALL! My wife is handicapped and she told her to walk the 15 blocks if you want us to serve you. She lies about certain patients and makes up stories. In the middle of a pandemic and just because I raised my voice back at her for speaking the way she did at me as though I was a child or an animal is disgusting. Our family lawyer wanted to put in a complaint to www.op.nysed.gov/opd and report what goes on there. They say when one door closes another one opens. Thank you Elise for being the nasty person that you are and for what and how you acted towards us and our dog. We found a larger practice with the nicest and most professional group of receptionists and with a phone system that puts you in a que and tells you when your call will be answered. PLUS, the professionalism of the doctor who came outside during this Pandemic to meet with us and discuss our concerns as new clients. I never wrote something like this in my life but this is what Yelp is for. It doesn't always have to be that you go to your closest vet. I also had a bad experience with this place!! In the summer of 09 my Bailey became sluggish, at first I thought it was the heat, then he had a loss of appetite.. I brought him in- the staff was wonderful but the Vet I had no confidence in after she ran all kinds of blood and urine test, and only wanted to do his teeth-NO other explanation about his medical condition!! on that same visit someone was arguing about the loss of a pet that shouldn't of happened..I knew that day it was time to move! by the end of the summer--new vet- re-run of all the same test $$$ -results showed possible Cushings disease, after a second special urine test diagnosis was confirmed--prognosis bad..2 months later my dog died..I feel If Noah's ark made that diagnosis I might have been able to save him.. of course I couldn't get 1 vet to confirm that they will not go against each other..PLEASE don't go there!! They seem all nice, friendly, and caring at first but then they start telling you, your pet needs this, and that, and all this unneeded stuff! brought my dog in to check on his diabetes and after his 3rd visit DR. WEINSTOCK decided to give him 10 medications in under 5 hours!!! How do you do that to a 10 pound yorkie?!! SHE OVERDOSED HIM!!!!! that's right! his little body couldn't handle all those medications and it poisoned him! needless to say, the 3rd visit ended up me taking my poor dog to the hospital because he couldn't breathe without an oxygen tank! his tongue turned blue! On 8/2 a cat we had recently adopted died suddenly. We took him here to be cremated and we were so upset we just handed over a credit card. The next day we noticed that we had been charged $175 for cremation and figured it must be an error since our elderly cat had been cremated at VERG 2 months earlier for $80. I called and the person, don't know her name so will just call her Bambi, said the amount was correct. I was amazed and said it was way too much and Bambi launched into a monolog about what a professional and caring way the procedure was done, blah blah, An odd statement since they only hold the body for the crematorium to pick up. It was hard to get a word in but finally I pointed out what Verg charged and her excuse was that Verg is a hospital and they are a small private blah blah. I said that a vet in Park Slope charges $80 and Bambi replied that it was not in their area and their prices were in line with local vets. Bambi then returned to her script that they followed all legal guidelines, were respectful on handling the body blah blah. I asked her if she was implying that everyone else used a can of gasoline and a book of matches and hung up. The next day I called three vets in "their" area and found that though Noah's Ark cost for a basic cat checkup was about the same, their cremation cost was way out of line. Two vets charged $135 and one charged $100. I think they are taking advantage of the grief people are feeling when their pet dies, knowing that is a perfect time to overcharge. I came to Noah's ark after a bout of repeated illnesses in my animals. I needed to switch vets and my friend told me forever about them. I should have listened years ago. Doctor Abraham is amazing. I currently have a cat that he checked this past Thursday and although I know it's getting to the time to put him down. He is eating and drinking and using the box to pee. I can't bring myself to do it yet. And the cat is acting fine. But doctor Abraham is really an amazing man. He understands and you see the sympathy in his eyes. Only vet I'll use from now on. I brought in a stray cat that someone turned into the precinct Where I work. I didn't want it to go to the pound and I didn't want to bring it home without having it checked out by a vet, so I brought it to Noah's Ark. The vet checked the cat's temperature which was normal and then they checked for a microchip. Eureka! A chip! They notified the owner and I was able to return the cat to it's grateful owner. Noah's Ark charged nothing! I was shocked! And thrilled! Since the cat had an owner ...they offered me kittens available for adoption! They really care !!! read more

When I brought him to the vet, they were extremely kind to me and my family and honest about what we should expect cost wise and gave us multiple options. They are completely t compassionate and loving. We brought our cat for an emergency visit...... we ran into some trouble they had no problems dealing with it. As my dog Rascal does not like men, I had to find a female vet, we tried Dr. Abraham but Rascal just kind of growled at him and he wouldn't come near her, not that I blame him. She loves Dr. Lori, she's kind and gentle, she gives us options and I don't feel like she's trying to rip us off. I would highly recommend Noah's Ark, Particularly Dr. Lori Winestock. read more

I am a fanatic when it comes to my animals. I want them to have the best care from Doctor's that know what they are doing/talking about and not in it for the $$$$. I must say that I am comfortable with brining my PET to Noah's Ark. The Doctor's there take their time with each pet, they take the time to talk to you. It's no come in and rush out. Their staff is very welcoming, they care about your animals. They even call you after the visit to see how your pet is doing. I'm happy and think anyone else would be too!!!! read more

My baby girl (Meli; 8yo chihuahua) went missing on 5/20/18 in Astoria, Queens a few blocks away from our home. Someone found her and contacted AMA Rescue who brought her straight to Noah's Ark. They took such great care of her. The staff was very comforting and informative. They were able to put us in contact with the couple who saved her life!! They examined her (blood work and X-rays) and again were very informative and able to answer all of our questions. Even though they are about 45 min to an hour from Astoria, we are so happy that AMA choose to bring our baby there.
