I visited this place in my last trip to Chicago looking for some good food. When we arrive to this place we realized it was like a sports bar and in my opinion usually sport bars don't have the best food but after walked long way we decide to give a try. The place was small but clean and well maintain. The Mexican server and the lady as bartender were really nice and attentive. My sister and myself ordered a NV burger and a kids burger for the little one. The taste was great for all burgees cooked as we order and the curly fries were great. Also the servers were beyond and put the final game for Mexico Soccer league in one of the TVs in front of us, so I was able to enjoy the game. Overall, very positive experience, great service and good food. I will go back to this place for dinner or have a couple of drinks in my next trip to Chicago. read more

The food was absolutely phenomenal! Tempura was light and crunchy, dipping sauce was a nice addition. Just needed a little salt but there wasn't any at any of the outside seating. The bbq jackfruit was amazing as were the butter fries! Never had anything like either of them before and doubt I will unless I come back! A definite must try if you are in the area! Service was a bit slow but I didn't really mind as I wasn't trying to get anywhere at any time. The outside seating was minimal but gets it done if u want some fresh air with your lunch/dinner. I stopped in to work a little versus heading to my hotel. I'm glad I did. The ambiance was good. Easy to watch the game. Not too loud so you could hear yourself think. The service was great. My waitress was very helpful and outgoing. My fries were tasty and the birria eggrolls were good. My drink, This F's(i got a virgin) was delicious!!!!!!! The only thing that would take this place to a 5 is more on the menu. Some of the items they have in the pics on yelp are no longer on the menu. I'd return! read more

I like this place! It's the right balance of elevated yet laidback. Most nearby bars are too much one or the other (run down & dirty filled with 22 year olds or snobby must come dressed looking like a million bucks to be treated decent...) This is a great spot to watch games since there are a ton of huge TVs & shareable snacks. If you like tequila, the "This F*cks" cocktail is delicious. The curly fries & NV sauce slap too. Walked in at 7pm on a Saturday night and my first thought was that they should change names with Au Cheval because there were all sorts of vacancies but NV also does have a burger worth writing home about. We sat at the bar (note: super comfy seats!) and saw all of the fancy tricks and gadgets: a machine that put pictures on your beer and bottom up beer fills in special glasses. Though these things are novel, they tend to slow down the bar's productivity but on this night it wasn't an issue since there were only a few other patrons. We ordered a burger and a "side chick". Food came out fast and hot on a large plate. Burger plate had a pixie dust-like sprinkling of parsley (which I'll never understand), a good helping of fries and two sauces: a fragrant garlic aioli and a ketchup which I'm pretty sure was just Hines. Burger was super tasty, juicy, and cooked correctly. Chicken sand was served up same as the burger but was underwhelming and thin. Fries were great- like really great (aside from needing some salt but that was a simple fix). Place was very clean and our bartender was nice and attentive. Bathrooms were clean and they had really nice C.O. Bigelow soap. Though they don't take reservations I don't see why you would need one for the time being. Just stick with the burger. read more

No Vacancy is a must visit! The menu is approachable yet satisfies any craving. We really enjoyed our visit with 7 peeps - sat at a large communal table. Food: We ordered the fries (so freaking good), egg rolls, burger, chicken tenders, and steak sliders. So many delicious dipping sauces too! Great bar food. Dranks: So beautifully crafted, balanced, and delicious. Highly recommend any of the drinks! On my way to dinner at Sunda (a must try), I stumbled upon No Vacancy on Wells to grab a quick cocktail with a girlfriend. It's a smaller bar that is pretty low-key and wasn't packed when we went, but had enough people to feel comfortable and lively. They played old rnb hits when I went on a Saturday night and the lights are dimmed for a cozy feel. The cocktails were great and their little beer-thingy was super cool, too! read more

One of, if not, the best happy hours in River North! Service was quick and accurate. Definitely recommend the Birria Egg Rolls - full of flavor and the birria was a great touch. Wings were solid, I'd try the lemon pepper next time, but we opted for the classic choice of buffalo and BBQ. Plenty of beer and wine options - beer pours are generous - 16 oz or 20 oz. They have patio seating. Great addition to River North, especially Wells St where there aren't as many options as other areas of River North. I will be back! read more

I wanted something light snd went for the sliders: they were by far the best sliders I had ever had. The atmosphere was a little like a sports bar but the seating area still had a very comfortable, casual, elevated ambiance. I most certainly recommend this place...and am trying to find an excuse to go back soon! read more

We chose the pretzel crusted chicken tenders, pigs in a blanket, fry basket, and then the birria egg rolls ( a solid recommendation from staff member London). Flavor profiles were exceptional, and the sauces complimented the flavors well. Bar staff crafted high quality drinks. In regard to service we were in on a Saturday evening. We called and were told to come on over. We did not have issues with a wait or being served in a timely fashion. Everything at this place was fantastic! Their food was flavorful, made to perfection, and creatively served. Their staff was polite, decent, and well-trained. You can even ask them some random questions and they will answer it nicely. They made my experience so great. The only problem for me was their tables and chairs. Food was great! Service was good even when the lunch rush hit with just one server taking care of everyone. Lose a star for the random 3% fee they add to the check "just because". Don't recall her name, but the female bartender from Arkansas was very attentive and very helpful when it came to food suggestions! Stopped in for happy hour & glad I did. The bar had a cool vibe about it. The lemon pepper rub chicken wings were off the hook and so were the $4 20oz beers!!! If you've never seen the Thrill system glass chiller or the tap-less draughts you're in for a treat. The beers have a crisp clean taste unlike most other bars with a tap system that may or may not have the lines clean on a regular basis & the glasses have residue on them. We loved our visit to No Vacancy. The atmosphere was extremely fun and welcoming. Our server London gave us some of the best service we had during our visit to Chicago. She made sure we had everything we wanted all night and made it a great night. The rest of the staff were also very friendly and welcoming. Everyone made it a point to visit our table and check on us including the regulars at the bar too. We will definitely be stopping in every time we are in the neighborhood. Met a friend here tonight for a drink. How did I miss this place? I realize the space has a pedigree, but I'd never been. This place has serious chops. How do I know? As someone with extensive experience in the Chicago food & bar scene, I knew: the bartender, a longtime Chicago restaurant owner, and fellow restaurant patron from the neighborhood. Who knows it, feels it, kind of thing. Check out the premium wine list (who's who in Napa/Sonoma/France-from Kosta Brown to Opus One to Quintessa to Château Mouton Rothschild '82-by the glass).
