As pretty much stated by all the reviews before me, DO NOT Hire Luis for any time of pool work. He is the owner of No Problem Pools and if you wanted a picture of SHADY OVERPROMISE &UNDELIEVER, you would see a picture of Luis. When this guy talks, its always so positive like "no problem I got it" but when it actually comes to meeting deadlines, this guy is a 0/10. The people he subcontracts to while he sits on his fat ass collecting a check, do horrible work. I bet they're underpaid too. He does nothing but collect money. Drives around in a Shelby Ford truck that he paid for scamming and overcharging people for and underpaying his workers that he subcontracts to. But then again, maybe they're not really underpaid because the work they do is absolute garbage. I paid him $33,000 to remove a pool, and he missed just about every deadline; finished about 2 weeks AFTER when he told me it was gonna be done. Did not re-tile any of the surrounding areas and left it a mess. Said he would do me a "favor" help me sell my pool equipment (filter, control panel, heater, etc). Didn't do any of that. In the process broke a light that I could have resold for around $500 from god knows what. This guy is the poster child for shady sales. Overpromise. Underdeliver. Make shit up, and repeat. I will be posting this to ALL of his applicable review sites. Yelp. Google. BBB. If after reading about my review (and be sure to read all the 1 star reviews he's gotten before mine from Google Reviews) if you are still considering hiring this bum, then god help you. They had dug out the pool and placed rebar but then left it like that for over ONE YEAR with no further work. By far this is the worst company I have ever dealt with. I installed my pool with them 2 years back and this review is long over due. They took 2.5 years to build my pool. Repeated errors in drawing, at 1 point I had to do the drawing and send them. Absolutely no follow up. I have sent close to a 800-900 texts following up. Work for our new pool stopped prior to completion. The work up until it stopped was good quality. When the equipment was finally delivered, after many phone calls, some of the items were not as quoted. It seemed that the work stopped due to financial issues. There is a separate pool service division which seems to be operating fine. We had to hire a different contractor to complete the project. read more

No Problem Pools - 6 Weeks of neglect! - General Contractors Near Me - San Jose, California

I went with no problem pool after seeing all good feedback on Yelp and signed contract with Luis in Feb 2023 for resurfacing and make one side square. Initially he told that it's will be 3 week job. But since he started the project, he never met the timelines and it's been 5 Months with unfinished work. There was no project manager for the whole time so you don't know what to expect. His folks most of time don't know the scope of work and they had to redo the work. He told us that he will be filing permit but till date I don't have any update on it. I'm trying to reach him from last 3 months as the sub contractor have opened a lien on my house for unpaid bills. He still need to complete the job and overall I had really disappointing and frustrating experience. Every time I call him he text back that he will reply or work with subcontractors to pay them but its not done yet. I hope he will fix his business. read more

Oh, the surprises just keep coming with this pool. My spa light quit working. This "remodel" will be one year old in November. I pulled the light out of the niche in the spa, and it was full of water. The niche is HALF FULL OF PLASTER!! There's hardly any room for anything to fit! Then I noticed that THE CLAMP ON THE BACK OF THE LIGHT HOUSING TO HOLD THE LENS IN PLACE WASN'T EVEN TIGHTENED. Worse yet, the end of the brass bolt that pinches the clamp together tight had been apparently cut with a hacksaw at a 45 degree angle ruining the threads and making it completely useless. If it was too long, why not use the right sized screw?!? It was also apparent that absolutely NO LUBE was used in putting this together. It was just slapped loosely together dry, thrown in the niche and a garden hose thrown in the deep end of the pool to fill it right after that. I went and purchased some 316 stainless bolts that were CORRECT size right up the street at the hardware store, reassembled and properly lubed the new gasket with silicone lubricant. Guess what? No leaks! I've posted the pictures here on Yelp so you can see for yourselves to attest to No Problem Pool's workmanship.They hire a bunch of hackers to do the work, and no warranties once the job is done and you're left holding the bag. read more

I really dislike writing a bad review but I can't really take the frustration anymore. Luis makes promises he can't keep. He also took our money but never finished our pool installation. We are so close to finishing after over a year of construction with delays and liens on our property from unpaid subcontractors. I wish Luis would get his business together. This review will serve as a warning to all new pool contractor seekers. I feel bad for Luis and all the other customers and subcontractors he will treat poorly in the future. This is an unfortunate way to run a business. I am glad some people had good experiences with Luis and No Problem Pools. They are fraud ! I've been calling them for more then a week to return my check and no response. They charged the credit card for no reason.

Usually, i don't like to write bad reviews but in this case, I wish there was a rating below 1 star, because No Problem Pools and Luis deserves the most negative rating. 1) He took money from us and did not pay the subcontractor. Subcontractor put a lien on our house for the money we already paid to No Problems pool. 2) His license got suspended by CSLB, he did not inform us and continued working on our property, which is probably illegal. 3) The work completed by him was of very poor quality, the pool shell built by them had cracks and the leveling of spa, skimmer and pool end was incorrect to maintain proper water levels in pool. We had to spend thousands of dollars more with other contractors to break existing and fix these issues. 4) Working with Luis was very hard. For any issue, concern etc. he will say that will be fixed/addressed right away but nothing happens for days and then follow up again and again. Issues referred in #3 above were never addressed after months of follow ups and then ultimately after finding out that his license got suspended we had to terminate the contract. 5) We are not the only one who got these problems with No Problem pools there are 2-3 other people that i spoke to faced similar issues. Now reading yelp reviews it appears the number of people screwed by them is a lot higher. I am not sure why they are still allowed to work as a contractor. read more

It's been five years since No Problem Pools resurfaced our pool with pebble tech and it still looks new (see my Oct 2018 5-star Yelp). At the time, we replaced my pool filter (but kept the old pump)and switched to a salt chlorinating system. I've periodically had questions and Luis always got back to me promptly, even on weekends. A couple weeks ago, on a Saturday morning my pool filter pump had a hose come loose and sprayed water all over the place before I noticed and turned it off manually. I sent Luis a frantic text with photo hoping he would get back to me Monday but to my surprise he called me within minutes and walked me through how I could fix it myself. I'm not a self-repair kind of guy but shortly after lunch I had it fixed. Wow! From thinking I had a repair bill of at least a couple hundred to having it working again for free. And what makes it even more impressive is that this pump was from before Luis and team redid my pool. He could have said "Hey, Todd, that's the pump you didn't want replaced" and left it at that but instead he helped me out. Luis is always available and responds to texts and messages lightning fast. And they finished my job in a record 10 weeks - including digging out my old pool and tearing out a lot of bad landscaping! My boyfriend had a pool installed at his house with another company and it took one year and cost the same. The pool with a built in spa is absolutely stunning. They use the most advanced technology including the ability to operate your pool functions using an app! I now have No Problem Pools doing weekly pool service and they have been very patient and accommodating with all of my questions about the equipment and the app. They even helped to tie in my landscape lighting to the control unit for the pool so I can now control my landscape water and lights using the same pool app. 10 stars! read more

Had my pool resurfaced and re-tiled back in Jan of 2020. 3 yr warranty and at the time I was happy with the work and responsiveness of the company. Now 3+ yrs have gone by. Pool work is now out of warranty and it appears I have a slow leak on the side of the pool. Have been trying to contact this company for the past three weeks via email and phone but have received no response. I need someone to evaluate the leak and see if this is something I need to be worried about immediately or not but have not heard anything back from the company. Make sure you get an end date on the contract with Luis because he drags his feet. It's been 7 1/2 months and our pool still hasn't been completed. He sends people to do some work for a few hours and then we don't see him until weeks later. We call him and he promises to send workers and nobody comes. Another problem is that Luis never comes to check the work and things get done wrong like the placement of the pool pumps and equipment. They were supposed to lay it 5 feet from the fence and it was 2 feet from the fence so it has to be redone, which is a tedious project and he has yet to do it. We also found out the his license is expired. If you don't care how long it takes to get your pool done than maybe you will like this company; otherwise, I highly recommend you get someone else even if its a little more money. Although we did run into some challenges (which is expected for such a big project), Luis was always available to help work through them and instruct his crew on decisions that were made. First let me start by saying BELIEVE the 1 star reviews! We had Luis resurface our pool a project that was supposed to take a month that took 6 months. You have to stay on top and text him/call him. Weeks would go by and no one should up. They clearly are overbooked and it's whoever it making the biggest fuss gets the crew. Eventually our pool was completed. 6 months later our pool turned green. Our pool cleaner suspected a leak, but Luis required I get a leak detection report first. Fine, I paid $690 for them to say it was the skimmer exactly when my pool guy suspected, wait weeks for the repair (at this point it's the fall). Next summer, same issue. Again Luis won't take my word for it so I have to get ANOTHER report this time the report is $865. Leak is in the same place so was NOT fixed the first time. Again have to text and harass to get it fixed. It's now been 12 months and I still haven't been reimubrsed. No one will respond to me. I've even submitted a calim to the BBB. They have shoddy workers and are CHEATS! Don't worry I'm taking them to court and will have them reimburse me for not only the fee but all the increased water bills and pool cleaning fees for the two years we ha leaks which will be double what the leak report is!!! and my mission is now to post this on every social media site in the bay area... read more

I know Luise from when I used to live San Jose then moved to San Ramon to a house with swimming pool but it had lots of problems ranging from re-plastering , cracking and pump / heater repair when I couldn't find someone to have it done soon for the next summer . When I called Luise he came checked it , gave me a price then had the complete remodel done in less than two weeks .being out of his usual covered area of work , he and his crew still did a nice job after all .Me and family couldn't be happier with the results . I have a large traditional gunnite / plaster pool (built in 1968) that was losing a tremendous volume of water with large cracks opening up in the plaster. Previous attempts to fix it were bandaids at best. I was about to the point of deciding to fill it in when Ben (of Ben there pool repair - also highly recommended) suggested I contact Luis Jimenez, indicating that if anyone could save her, he could! Luis took one look at the photos I had emailed and said that it needs to be fiberglassed, that this was the only way to save it while providing a considerable warranty. After further deliberation and a second opinion and bid, I contracted No Problem Pools to Fiberglass my plaster pool and replace the skimmer as this was also cracked. As I write this, my beautiful new swimming pool is filling up, the job took about 12 days and the transformation is nothing short of incredible. Every step was completed with skill and gave me high confidence that these guys really knew there business. My skimmer inlet needed rebuilding from a previous remodeling defect and the crew engineered and completed the modification without additional cost. The job site was cleaned up each day and the crew is very pleasant and courteous. If you have an old pool like mine that you want to give a new lease on life, do yourself a favor and contact No Problem Pools. read more

The name of this company should be changed to Nothing But Problems Pools. If I could give it negative stars I would. It's almost impossible to even know where to start with this review. I can honestly say this company is the worst contractor I have ever worked with, big or small. My wife and I have owned multiple homes and done dozens of small and large scale remodels, and we've never had a worse experience than the one we had with this company. They are unreliable, have zero communication, no care for the customer, and no ability to plan or project manage. You would expect upon signing a contract for over $150k to do a brand new custom pool, you'd get world class customer service. But nope, you get treated like an annoying customer at a fast food drive through buying a $5 happy meal. I consider myself a very easy-going person, and I pay for all jobs on time without any hassle. But my expectation is that the company I hire will provide top notch service. I always assume there will be problems, but it's how they are handled and communicated that goes a long way in ensuring a project goes as well as it can. I don't have the time or energy to list every single issue we had with this company, but here are the lowlights: - If you hire this company, I would strongly suggest you study up on the entire pool construction process, because if you want anything done, you will have to become the project manager. I can't stress this enough - if you want ANYTHING done, you will have to call, text, (don't email because it will never get answered), and even threaten to fire them to get them to do it. Otherwise, you will go weeks, or even months on end, with nothing happening. And to make it worse, there will be zero communication during this time on what is going on. - You will never, ever, ever get a schedule. No matter how many times you ask, it will be ignored, or promised "by tomorrow", and then it will be crickets. - Everything is a fire drill, and I mean everything. It seems as if Luis and his team only get things done based on which customer is screaming the loudest at them. They show zero care for the customer/client. - They have no ability to plan, at all, and it doesn't matter if you tell them what you want months and months in advance. They'll spend no time to plan out what is needed and when. So, again, everything is last minute and a fire drill. Tile = not ordered, and when ordered didn't order enough, caused long delays. Coping = not ordered, and when ordered didn't order enough, caused long delays. Pool cover = not ordered, caused month long delay - We had countless commits for something to get done, and come that day, nobody shows up, And of course, no communication. Then the screaming and yelling starts again, more promises made, more commits missed, and the cycle goes on. - Not only did we have to micromanage every single step of the project, we also had to call the retailers who supply the coping, tile, pool cover, etc to find out if the material was even ordered, and if it was, when, etc. It's shocking the level of micromanaging my wife and I had to do. - The gunite was installed wrong because they didn't bother to follow their own design plans. If we didn't happen to be home that day to catch it, we would have had a pool design we didn't order. - Almost everything is done to about 50-75% and then starts the cycle of screaming and yelling to get it done. So a 1 day job turns into weeks or months sitting around waiting. Equipment gets installed - but solar isn't connected, spa isn't connected, heater doesn't work, they forget to set up the automatic water fill, etc. Tile is ordered and shows up but is only half of what is needed. Coping finally shows up but is only 75% of what is needed. Water is put in the pool but they don't bother to get equipment running, chemicals put in, or clean it. - They show zero care for the customer or customer service. They install thousands of dollars of pool equipment, and at no point, bother to explain it to you or show you how it works and its take begging to get this. I would expect a company who builds custom pools to go out of their way to make sure everything is working and the customer is educated on it. I wish I could say "at least the quality of their work is good", but the care they show is pathetic. We had issues with their work at every step that had to be fixed, with many still in the process of being fixed - gunite installed wrong, tile and grout chipped, lights and drains misaligned, pebble stained from dirty water sitting for weeks, equipment not working, never bothered to clean up anything (debris, gunite, pebble) etc. etc etc. Our project started in October 2021, and it's the middle of July 2022 and we are still fighting to get it finished. A 12-16 week project is now going into week #40, with at least another 4 weeks to go...assuming the latest promises we got are even accurate. read more

I had No Problem Pools resurface my pool and install a new control board for my pool and jacuzzi 5 years ago. Luis was a very nice guy and seemed very professional, but after the pool was resurfaced and the new pool control was installed he was very unresponsive when there were problems that needed fixing. His crew did a very good job on resurfacing the pool, but there were many problems with the installation and set up of the pool control panel and it was very difficult to get them to come back to fix all the problems: 1) they disconnected the sprinklers for the yard and parts were missing so it could not be reconnected without them coming back to fix it, so our grass was dying 2) The jacuzzi jets stopped working and it took them over a month to come back to tell me it broke during the installation, that I would have to pay to have a new one installed, and it took 1+ month to get a new pump installed and the problem fixed 3) we converted to a salt water pool and they were supposed to add salt to the water, but they ran out so they only put some salt in without telling me that I needed to add more 4) they recommended a Hayward Omnilogic pool control system and it started having problems after a few years. I later found out that Hayward systems are really bad and they have a reputation for having problems just after the warranty runs out, typically after 3-5 yrs and that pool installers recommend Hayward because they get a kick back from them 5) they were supposed to set up the Hayward control panel, but I had to make several calls over weeks to get things working correctly 6) there were leaks from the plumbing around my pool system and it took weeks to get them to come back to fix it, and 7) they disconnected my solar panels without telling me and it was only a year later when I had another pool repair person come to check it that I found out what they did. While I would give them 5 stars for resurfacing the pool alone, they only get 2 stars for their overall service because they did not live up to their name, and they should change their name to Problem Pools. read more

Disclaimer: Theyre not quite done, I will update when its complete. These guys are pretty great. Very reasonably priced, a pleasure to work with, and experts about what you want before you even know. Jesse & Luis were always available by text, Luis was an expert in calming my fears, and they did last minute add on stuff required by my paver installation crew (i wish I just wouldve have gone through No Problem Pools for the pavers for the whole back yard though-but thats another review) they ran last minute gas to a firepit/kitchen, they changed the depth and shape of the pool when my husband and I had a change of heart, etc. These guys had excellent recommendations about everything including ways to save money, where to splurge and where to cut back because its not worth it. I will say the permit process takes forever(4-6weeks), but thats the City of Campbell, and not Luis or Jesse. We had a swimmable pool in 8 weeks (not heated yet, but its 90+ degrees out and didnt need to be) - finish needs to "cure" before you can heat it. After contacting multiple pool contractors in the Bay area, South and East Bay, No Problem pools has the best quote. The others quotes are just waaay unreasonably high and you can tell they are just taking advantage of high real estate prices here in San Jose. When they did my pool, I am very surprised on how Jaime's team is very efficient and thorough about the construction, I'm really glad that I did pick the best. They finished the job in agreement schedule and their workmanship is superb. They also backed it up with 10 year warranty. Luis and No Problem Pools just finished my pool and spa and the results exceeded my already high expectations. As is often the case, there were a few surprises along the way (none the fault of No problem Pools), but Luis and his team consistently found solutions and still finished the project sooner than originally estimated. The quality of the work was exceptional, and the cost was significantly lower than estimates I had received from competing companies. Throughout the project Luis was very responsive, clearly customer service is near and dear to his approach to doing business.
