I take our pool water in for checks several times throughout the year. The staff understands the importance of " chemical balance " and make Recommendations ONLY!! This location is horrible! Just had my water tested and results are significantly different than last week (I.e. salt 1000 ppm less in a week) and the gal had no explanation for anything. Need a new pool cleaner hose and she pointed to where they should be but none there and she was no help in finding for me or helping me even though no other customers were there. I miss Michelle as she was awesome. Now I have to go over to Campbell location to get someone that can actually help me. This store is also always a mess. You guys need to improve this location. Well disclosure, I don't have a pool. but I do have a cell phone, that was lost. I went into this business, praying that someone would help me. The manager, Tina, did. She took time out of her day to make multiple calls for me to find my phone. And we were ultimately successful. A good local pool store, but customer service is extremely spotty. If you are not in a hurry, and you want to chit-chat about your pool with friendly clerks, this place is probably fine. If you know what you need, and just want to go in and buy it, be prepared to pay 2X the online price and wait 15 to 20 minutes for check out. We typically buy pool noodles, pump or timer pieces, and misc parts here just because they are local and convenient. I went in tonight to get a new leaf rake net. As expected, price was 2X the Amazon price, but hey, I needed it quick and I don't mind to support local brick and mortar businesses. After waiting 20+ minutes listening to the one clerk on staff joking around with the two customers ahead of me, I literally put the leaf rake back on the rack and walked out. The lady behind the desk -- who MUST have seen what I did -- never even said "hello" to me, much less something like, "I'm sorry, I'll just be a minute with these customers." I am happy I took the chance and time to come in even after seeing bad reviews. I was "that mom" that bought a above ground "pool in a box" thinking it'd be easy plop some chlorine tablets in keep t clean and it'd be easy summer full of fun. Turns out these pools need the same type of care as a in ground pool to keep the water balanced and clear/clean. I was a newbie and knew nothing ...went in thinking I wouldn't get much help or they'd make me fee stupid but that was the opposite. The employee Scott helped me! He tested the water free and told me exactly what I needed. He took the time to explain it to me so I understood why, when and how much of each item to put in. He made it simple and easy to understand. I'm going back next week to test again to see how the new products helped balance the water. I was using chlorine tabs like the pool instructions said turns out those didn't even put a dent in our 6k gallon pool. In just 4-8 hours the water went from a cloudy look to a super clear fresh look. Excited to get the most out of the pool with better and easier care. read more

The dude that answered the phone didn't even know what a shaft seal was. He put me on hold for 15 minutes then hung up. If I could give ZERO stars I would. Bought a hot tub and was looking for a place locally I could give me business too instead of shopping at an online store. To me it is a way of giving back to the community. You all are with me on that right? Well I visited Leslie's Pro for that reason alone and here is m experience. I walk into their store on Blossom Hill Road and as I walk in I see 1 customer and two sales reps sitting behind the counter. For a visual there is one female and one male(heavy set) guy. I say hello, how's your day to be polite as I'm looking to start a relationship because that what I do. I explain what I'm looking for and the guy stays seated and point in a general direction and says, "Second shelf from the top". I walk over to the area and scan for the item. I turn and ask, "is it over here?" Guy says, "I'm that area" mind you the store is filled with chemicals. I ask is there other brands you'd recommend and guy replies, "Leslie's has the market cornered in every product so no, this is all we carry." I'm ok with that up into the point I ask him if there is any nets or cleaning tools for hot tubs available. Again from his seat points to another wall. At the same time customer speaks up and says, "there are cleaning attachments just for hot tubs". I ask, do you work here and customer replies no, I'm a customer and own a hot tub". I received more info and courtesy from him than the employees. For that reason I left the chemicals on the counter and left. I ended up purchasing the needed chemicals off Amazon where I got exactly what I needed all on my own. Business owners wonder why they can't keep their doors open or attract more business? It's because their salespeople would rather sit on their heavy set buttocks and get paid for it. Easy money, right? WRONG! Take care of customers and customers will take care of you. This store is not the closest to my house, but I still go here for my water tests and pool supplies. The staff is always helpful and professional and has been this way for 15 years. The only disappointment I have had with Leslies was with a service to my pool pump, but this was not due to anyone in particular. I just had to pay a service call for a visit and they did not have the part, so I had to order the part and pay for another service call. I tried to use a coupon on the part but was not able to do it easily. So I paid for the part and then called corporate and explained the situation. They made it more than right. So overall Leslies is a great company. Just make sure they have your part before they make the first service call. read more

I might pay little more that I do at HomeDepot, but Brad more than makes up for the difference. He is very helpful, knowledgeable and willing to take the time to help me correct the problem. I live in Almaden Valley therefore I'm richer and better than you. Sorry, couldn't resist. Facebook. Although I think it should read, "therefore I have a pool which I must spend and spend on to maintain unlike you." So, one must have a pool place to go to and I've been using these guys for years. Seriously, you can't go wrong here. You bring your water in and they test it for free. No, it's not so they can sell you a bunch of expensive chemicals. It's so you and your family and friends can swim in a safe, clean pool that doesn't kill everyone with too much chlorine, or algae or whatever. Bring your water in anytime for testing and analysis and retesting. Do as they say and you should do pretty well on your own without a pool service. They sell everything here from toys and chemicals to pool sweeps, spas and everything in between. We recently had a problem with our filter pump. The guy diagnosed it on the spot. $259 to repair it and $299 for a new one. When asked what the labor would cost to repair it I was told it was "free." No, we didn't buy it there and they didn't install it for us either. Amazing in this day and age that a place does labor for FREE! Coupons arrive in the mail for a lot of stuff. Most of it I don't use anymore but the other day I got 20 % off about $100 worth of shock treatment just when I needed to buy it. Yeah, that kind of savings is nice too. I can get a sushi lunch with that! :-) Written in my travelogue: It smells heavily chlorinated in here, but you won't need your swim goggles to see the service and savings they offer. read more

The management team sets a very negative tone, which is illustrated by their customer service. Although it's a convenient location in the Almaden area, their return policy is horrible! Let's just put it this way, if you buy it and it's not right plan on taking the loss. This review is given to the ass-Istant manager Cruz. I called around 12:30pm to inquire about a very expensive pool cleaner I had purchased there and wanted some info. They put me on hold for a rather long time(12 min to be exact-ya crazy me for holding that long). No coming back on the line or even saying "can I call you back, we are very busy". So I hung up and called back and Cruz who has obviously no experience whatsoever in customer service rudely tells me they are busy in the store and its first come first serve basis but in a very uneducated nasty way. I proceed to tell him I don't appreciate him talking like that and I wanted to speak to the manager and he says he wasn't there right now and something about me belittling the company?!!! Are you freaking serious?!!! I will not spend a dime in that place after dealing with a moron like that. I will take my money somewhere else!!! Unhelpful & rude. First, I was the only customer in the store and the only employee in the store at the time didn't say hi when I approached the counter, he didn't even recognize my existence after standing there looking at him for about 20 seconds (I thought he would finish whatever he was doing on the computer & then ask if I had a question). When I explained what I needed, he said there was nothing I could do, rattled off a series of processes like I was a seasoned professional & not a homeowner whose pool service went out of business, and then just stopped talking to me. I tried to ask a couple of follow up questions expecting the employee to take the time and explain more and he just repeated himself and said anything else I wanted to do would be a waste of money. While I've never been to this store before I am honestly shocked by not only the absolute absence of any customer service but basic human kindness. read more

This company continues to hire managers that either get fed up with their job and leave that have great customer service or they hire lousy customer service managers that fill in for a short time and fire them. I went to 2 different stores and got the same mumbo jumbo. You bring them a water sample and they will test it for you. These guys knows nothing about pools. They only tell you what the computer tells them. My pool was green so I needed to shock it. The gave me a box of chlorine, some algaecide and told me how to put it in the pool. The next day the pool turned from green to milky. Went back to Leslie's and they instructed me to clean the filter. For the next 2 weeks my pool didn't improve. They keep telling me to clean the goddamn filter. I must have cleaned it 10 times. They tested the water 10 times and each time, they tell me to add chlorine or a water clarifier or phosfree. They even tell me to leave the filter running for 14 days. After 2 weeks the pool is still milky. I found a website that helped me out immensely. www.troublefreeforum.com I read a few articles and they mention something about adding DE to my DE filter. And just like that, my pool was crystal clear. Thank you Leslie for selling me hundred of dollars of worthless chemicals. The moral of the story is this. Buy a test kit and test your own water. Leslies is the local pool supply store. The staff is friendly and will do water analysis for free to let you know if you need to add Chlorine or Acid in your pool water to get the pH right. The price of Chlorine and Acid is higher than say a Home Depot, so recommend you shop around. But I got a great price on a pool pump here, they also will repair the bearings on your pump if you bring it in. Lots of other pool nick nacks, floats, basketball hoops, goggles, flippers, chairs, etc. Do your price checks online to see if you are getting a deal first. Unless you really need something in a bind. 3 stars. read more

I want to give them 5 stars, because they really came through solving the problem their pool-tech guy caused when he came to my home. My only issue with Leslie's is the employee they sent me, who was rude, inept, and totally unhelpful. BUT I was able to discuss this with the service manager, who apologized sincerely and came to look at my pool problems himself. He spotted the causes and suggested solutions, even fixing a broken wire while he was here and at no charge. This Leslies branch does really try to work with their customers, so I do recommend them. read more

I ran out of YellowTrine algecide and my wife volunteered to pick it up because she would be near the pool supply store. I ASSUMED that she meant the one on Cottle behind Skips Tires. Bad assumption. Instead she went to Leslie's on Blossom Hill. The person behind the counter told her that YellowTrine is not comparable with chlorinated pools. Utter BS! The instructions direct you to super chlorinate while using it. Why would he do this? To sell her the Leslie's brand that's more expensive and doesn't work half as well. Or he can't read labels and has no idea what works with what. So this time Leslie's has managed to piss me off without me even going into the store. But now I have to go in there to take their crappy store brand back. read more

One of the store managers is horribly rude , condescending and not helpful. I came in asking about equipment that I purchased at their store that wasn't working anymore.. No help at all! The man I spoke to was so rude, disrespectful- and very frustrating when I was asking a few questions.... He said I needed to bring it in for them to find out what the problem was- which seems reasonable! I felt hopeful for a moment... so I hopped in the car and went to get it - returning a few minutes later with it. A couple days later, it was returned to us apparently repaired. But it still doesn't work ! I dread having to go back with the equipment again tomorrow, I refuse to be served by this " manager" guy! I will not be talked to in the same manner again!! - and hope another staff member will lead to a more positive result. But the general experience has left me not wanting to purchase from their store anymore! read more

Everyone here has been very helpful. We're new to the pool maintenance game and they've been great at helping us figure it out. We come in for water testing every once in a while, which is nice. We bought a pool cleaning robot here that wound up having some technical issues, but they really went above and beyond to help address all the problems we encountered. read more

Set up an appointment last week because I was having problems with my pool pump. Today Jose and Vic came out (on time) and researched the problem. After a few different troubleshooting tries, they figured out that my inlet valve needed the gaskets replaced. 10 minutes later, voila! I was up and running again. Now that I know what the issue was I could do this next time, but knowing is the key to everything, and Jose is the man (Vic also). As a new(ish) pool owner I really appreciate the time Jose took to answer the questions I had, and the value I got from his visit was way more than just fixing my pool. I wouldn't hesitate to go to Leslie again for pool issues. Truly a professional group. read more
