My first time here and sad to say, I do not plan on returning back. When you 1st walk in, it has the " hole in the wall" vibe. No one was there when i arrived. After I had ordered my food and was seated, I noticed there were lots of flies flying around inside the restaurant. The Tom kha soup and expensive pad thai were just ok. Green curry w/beef- beef was very hard, curry was very oily. Crispy Spring rolls were the best thing I ate there. It was simply mediocre and placed on top of a lot of sweet and sour sauce. Sauce should be on the side. One woman show and service was ok. Unfortunately, I will not be back.

Steaming delicious pad Thai!

The food is so freshly made! And delicious, and great sized portion. My little one & I thoroughly enjoyed the pad Thai with shrimp and chicken. Plus the owner Nit is so warm and lovely! She gave company to my little one and made him laugh and overall made it a memorable time for us ! We will definitely come back again. Thank you Nit :)

Came in for lunch recently and loved the cozy family vibe here. The lady who runs the place is super nice. We ordered the coconut based soup and chicken in red curry with brown rice. Both the dishes were excellent. Would highly recommend! Note: credit cards not accepted.

Small 5 table cafe, w/ lovely owner/cook. She's always so kind and charming. Food is consistently fresh, colorful n creative. A real treat on the coast. Some menu items change based on season, but steady menu of Thai food. You will be happy you had a meal from this serendipitous place.

Pineapple Fried Rice with Prawns

Stopped in during Paul Bunyan days & we were pleasantly surprised by the freshness, amazing flavors & incredible presentation of our meals! We ordered House Salad, no ordinary salad here, yum! Pineapple fried rice w prawns, as delicious as it is pretty! And the Fresh Roll was custom made to our liking~ thank you The young man who served us was friendly & very efficient. Window seating is nice, watched the goings ons on Main street. Prices are reasonable. I totally recommend Nits Cafe!

After reading a review of this place on local facebook page The Pudding Creek Trestle I decided to give this local gem a try. The food was made by NIT herself. I loved this location from the moment I walked in. The service was a thing of its own. The man that greeted us at the door. The menu here is updated daily and has specials of the day.

Really enjoyed Nit's Cafe! The place is pretty small and cozy -- I really enjoyed the very chill and unassuming vibe! We ordered the Tom Kha soup and the Pad Thai and really enjoyed both. The Pad Thai was pretty big portion and both items are worth trying. I actually really liked the soup because you could really taste both the Tom Yum spices (without it being spicy) and the coconut. Will be back!

VEGAN REVIEW Came…read morehere for a dinner in a recent work trip. This came up as my best vegan option. Started with the mango salad, had the pumpkin curry with tofu as my main. Large portions! Tasty & very fresh. Great herbs & lots of sauce. It's in a building that I think is a converted lumber mill? They have seating in a main dining room & then outside... that is still inside? LOL you just have to see it to understand. The decor is nothing to write home about, but it's clean & perfectly serviceable. The service is good. Attentive, but also one the server saw I was reading a book he let me linger. Would return again!

Overall, portion sizes especially the amount of protein in the dishes were a little disappointing, but they certainly deliver on Thai flavors when you're craving it. Koa Soi Chang Mai Curry Egg Noodle Soup (4/5): Egg noodles have a satisfying chew to them with some extra fried noodles over top to add a bit of crunch. Soup was savory, but I just wanted all the flavors to be amped up more (more tang! more spice!). Fantastic option for a rainy and / or sick day though! Panang Curry w/ Pork (3.5/5): Pork was a bit overcooked and chewy, but thinly sliced enough to not be a problem. Plenty of vegetables, but a little sparse on the pork unfortunately. The curry itself had great flavor: great balance of sweet, creamy, and savory across the spices and coconut. However, the curry ran very thin and ate more like a soup. Angel Wings (3.5/5): Chicken was juicy and tender, but there was no crunch on the outside and the skin was still the soft / slightly slimy texture. The sauce is a great sweet and salty combo. The side salad wasn't the freshest, but they aren't the star anyways.

Jyun Kang Vegetarian - A Meal That Quietly Resets You…read more Some meals speak in flavor. This one speaks in quiet. Jyun Kang is not modern plant-based cuisine. It isn't creative, trendy, or reinvented. This is the kind of vegetarian cooking that comes from older traditions - simple, steady, and designed to calm you more than impress you. And maybe that's why the dining room is always full. White, Black, Indian, Asian - everyone sits at the same wooden tables, eating the same humble dishes with an ease that feels rare these days. The Food: Old-School, Temple-Style, and Intentionally Quiet Nothing here tries to stand out. The dishes are: * lightly seasoned * clean and balanced * tofu, vegetables, and wheat gluten prepared the way temple kitchens have done for decades * no heavy oil, no aggressive spices, no sharp flavors It's not meant to overwhelm you. It's meant to lower the noise inside you. In a strange way, the quietness is the flavor. This is the type of meal where your nervous system shifts down a gear without you realizing it. The Atmosphere: A Dining Room Wrapped in Calm Steps away from the main courtyard of the City of Ten Thousand Buddhas, the restaurant feels like an extension of the grounds themselves. Light streams in softly. People speak gently. Even the clinking of dishes feels slower, more deliberate. Eating here isn't just eating - it's entering a different pace of life. A White Peacock After Lunch After the meal, a white peacock walked across the courtyard - unhurried, soft-footed, almost unreal in how quietly it moved. White peacocks are often considered auspicious, but even without any symbolism, the moment felt grounding - a small, unexpected pause that matched the tone of the meal. Not many restaurants offer you that. The Walk Afterward Part of the experience is what happens once you step outside: * walking past tall trees * seeing peacocks on rooftops * watching families stroll through the open grounds * letting your mind cool in the same way your body just did This isn't a restaurant visit. It's a reset. Verdict: A Place That Nourishes More Than Hunger Jyun Kang serves exactly what it intends to serve: pure, old-style temple vegetarian food, quietly and consistently. It won't dazzle you, but it will steady you. And sometimes, that is worth more than flavor. If you want boldness, go elsewhere. If you want a meal that lowers the volume of your day - come here. But it is very clean and folks working here are like machines! They are super efficient! I sat down with menu, within a minute, my order was taken. There are free books at the counter for reading. Shortly after, food was served. I got the basil mushroom with brown rice and tea. Flavor was nice! Mushroom somehow shines through the basil seasoning. Love it! Plan to visit the temple again tmrw and will dine here again!
