I had written a review back on 7/10 but yelp had my location wrong lol. I am in Phoenix not San Fran! This location is incredible. Nicest people and great selection. I went on a big sale day(7/10) and they allowed me to buy extra sprinkle boxes over the limit bc I am having surgery in a week(back then it was supposed to be 7/19 but got rescheduled). The surgery is on my jaw and I won't be able to attempt to chew for at least 30 days so to help with pain sprinkle is ideal. They were so kind and understanding and I will definitely go there again. This is the only Dispensary I will ever go to again. I recently went to harvest because I was not near the giving tree and had a very terrible experience. * UPDATE * THEN AND NOW After getting my AZ MMJ card in January, being a "Senior Baby Boomer", my last 'fling' with "POT" was in the 70's. I was 'expecting' a "70's Head. Shop". When I walked in the front door, then into the shop, I thought I was in an Apple Store. (Ok heard of "Sativa" heard of "Indica" that was as much as I knew. Except the over the counter CBD "sublingual" tinctures. I tried them ALL for the last 6+ years. I've been living in CHRONIC pain, on 200mcg Fentanyl Patches, 15mg OxyCodone,10mg of Diazepam, 45mg Restoril(Temazepam) 21 YEARS that Exact regimen, once, after 3 years, we massaged the regimen and the above Opioids & Benzo. Knowing that our Mr McCain's highest priority is "Making AZ the Hardest and Harshest state in the country on "the now proven false figures to support a flimsy case of "Opioid Crisis, seems it isnt a crisis at all. It was fabricated. Fortunately for me the pain management doctor I've been seeing before all the chemotherapy and cancers and all that said. look I we don't know where this thing is gonna land the 1st of the year I'd like to start to titrate you down slowly. The Benzo's alien gave a half life if 20 days, after 21 years, that better be done right. When my oncologist and PCP said, with your body's lack of an immune system. Both said "Maybe its time to try something new, get a MMJ card and see if some of the "real" CBDs and at night try the CBDs AND some that will help with skeletal muscle spasms and pain. I didn't react much does it to said the last time I had anything to do with pot was in the seventies and it did nothing.... (I don't care what anyone tells you, ONLY full Med Grade hemp plant's CBD are worth ANYTHING. The junk you buy online of the "new CBD treats anything even old age") The young lady I spent time with could not have been nicer & more patient. The 'old guy's memory is very foggy (Chemo Brain) and I wanted to know "Oh what's that thing?" I've tried ALL the dispensaries within a 25 mile radius around Phoenix. I only go to ONE PLACE FOR EVERYTHING, ( actually another Dispensary is the only one I've found that carries the brand CBD tincture, that works REALLY well, for me.) Eswverything else comes from one source. Still getting used to Arizona dispensaries after coming from WA. This one seems to have the better reviews out of most. I find the selection still disappointing and lacking. Wish they had THC/CBD drinks. Twice I've been approached by someone trying to promote a new product. Not a fan of that. I would rather be approached by someone who works there so I can be in and out faster. Just had to stand there waiting for over 10 minutes while the two people working the floor were with the same people. Has to be a better system. Also if the security guard is going to shove his face right in mine as I walk in please wear a mask or don't hold the door. That's not a needed service. Gave three stars because it seems to be the only decent dispensary in this area and the prices are great. 3 stars for great prices and friendly staff. This was my first time in to The Giving Tree, and overall, I had a great experience. I'd recommend using the GPS to get here, the buildings are all pretty similar around here, and it took me a few to get my bearings. I walked in to a friendly greeting, and a very modern and clean waiting space. Presented my cards, and sat down to complete the standard first time patient forms, a couple pages of your basic questions. Once completed, I was escorted to a secondary waiting area behind locked doors. I waited about five minutes, and was called up to the purchasing counter. I'd recommend to take a look at the display before checking out the menu. Some of the pricing may not match up to your standards, and I felt some of the Tier 2 were better than the Tier 1 meds. Plus, the edibles and other goodies are located there as well. The only aspect of my experience that I did not like is: The meds were pre packaged. I was unable to verify the weight before I consumed some, but I'm not a fan of the pre packaged meds. Either way, I was satisfied with all of the product that I purchased, and everything was well trimmed and fresh. If the standard is pre packed meds in this area, then I would definitely come back to this dispensary. read more

I used to go here all the time. You could use your credit card at the register, great points system etc. Now you have to type your phone number in to get points and then you get a series of text messages and I have to use their ATM now too? Nah! Start doing $175 ounce specials and I'll be back. Too much BS for the overpriced product. The staff is and always has been top notch, I'll give them that. It's the corporate numbnutz who make the decisions that drive customers away. They really do think the average consumer is stupid. read more

I only order online to pick up. My only dislike is there are no first time customer gifts for recreational uses. Being as that I am from Southern California, that is something that I loved about exploring new places. The budtenders are amazing and so friendly. Normally my favorite dispensary but the new location and recreational it's changed my mind. A lot of people don't want to come in because of Covid, we now can't make curbside orders and have to go in for mobile orders because recreational gets them too. It's exactly like other dispensary's when Covid began with two lines outside, just definitely not my favorite place anymore. read more

My first visit to this dispensary is my last. Placed an order for recreational edibles. Got a confirmation that my order was placed and told to wait for it to be processed to come over. After 3 hours, I tried calling and it says connecting and goes to hold music and no one ever picks up. Went there in person and they told me that the order didn't go through because of the quantity. I selected recreational on the site and figured it would show what I am qualified to buy. Then I waited in line and told the buttender I wanted sativa. They sold me indica. Went back to the store and they said they sold out of sativa. They apologized but that doesn't help much wasting a day on this place. The kicker is they knew their website didn't work and they said they didn't answer their phones because they didn't want to take calls from regulators. If you don't have a website that works then don't have a website and if you don't answer your phones don't have a phone number. read more

I love this place. I've only been once, so far, but I will be going back! The staff was very helpful and patient with the many questions I've had. Everyone there made me feel comfortable considering how nervous I was walking in. I explained my symptoms and how I didn't want to feel, and the gentleman who was helping me suggested the perfect products. He never tried to "over" sell me-I'm assuming being an over bearing salesperson is not necessary in this business, the products sell themselves. Just received my card. First time customer at any dispensary, so I did not know what to expect. Rather dark and unfriendly environment. I was only interested in edibles. Was surprised and disappointed on how limited their selection was. Was put off by the checkout. Was informed my purchase was $42 and paid that amount. However, when I left and later checked my receipt, found the purchase price was only $41.40. What the heck?! It may only be only $.60, but what does that say about the honesty of the company? I noticed they had a tip jar on the counter I guess they felt they were going to get a tip one way or another. Not professional. Also, do not like that their edibles state "contain pesticides". Would rather not have that in my system if I don't have to. read more

Not a bad place. They were a bit hard to find, super nice on the inside and the staff was warm & friendly. Their flower selection was smaller than most and more expensive. The buds look and smell fantastic! However, the samples that I tried were very dry and crumbled into a powdery mess. It did smoked and tasted good. I was very disappointed with their pre-rolls. They don't hit very well and the paper burns unevenly causing huge runs and wasting product. read more

This place is so mismanaged it's pathetic. To begin, they make all first time patients stand outside (including elderly patients with walkers and canes!!) you also have to stand outside to fill out paperwork and place an order online instead just letting first time patients inside to order. Once you do finish standing in the 100+ degree weather and can pick up your order instead of giving you priority since you just wasted 30 mins of your life sweating under their barely noticeable misters, you now go to the back of the line of cars picking up curbside and wait another 15-20 mins since they are clearly under staffed , to be told to wear a mask in your own car, (even though the 1 employee on curbside helping you is wearing one) they clearly have major issues in organization and don't know what their doing which the blame falls on upper management who obviously has no clue what their doing. If the mask is an attempt to be sanitary and mindful then why aren't they wearing gloves as well, seeing that they are exchanging cash (the dirtiest material on earth) with multiple people. This place is over priced, poorly managed and just needs to close its doors for good already. read more
