I was still traumatized by the fierceness of this storm and the extensive damage to all my new and existing gardens, and vowed not to use any contractor who used these tactics. The phone onslaught continued for weeks, supplemented by my doorbell being run on an almost daily basis. Early on, a friend who knew what I had been through recommended a roofing contractor she had used - Tom Krause at Advanced Construction Roofing (ACR) - and since he was NOT one of the ones who was badgering me, I contacted him to come out and take a look at the damage - but only after I had a chance to come to terms with the emotional aspect of the damage to my property. Tom was prompt and courteous and very respectful of my wishes, and worked with me over the summer to get the most complete compensation from my insurance company and recommend where best to spend that claim money. I ended up with an impact resistant roof, which lowered my insurance costs and increased my property value, and also replaced all of my gutters (instead of the few that the insurance company allowed), for just a very nominal investment on my part. I decided to wait until late fall to actually do the work to minimize the risk of another storm and another claim at my high deductible, and Tom never bothered me about that decision and came out numerous times, and personally oversaw the work, cleanup and inspection that followed. He even went out of his way to replace a screen that was not part of the hail damage that was tricky to fit and required several back and forth trips with the window company. HART ROOFING BREAKS COLORADO LAW again: I fully agree with…read moreChad B.'s comments in his review on 10/4/2018. The Arapahoe county court in their judgement verified Hart broke the law. 1. Hart went behind my back to Insurance CO & ran up my roof bill to $59000, the reasonable price for a 2900 sq ft home roof would be $35000+-5%. I can submit 2 local rooofers written estimate. 2. Even though they illegally tried to collect$24000 more than was fair, They did not replace 6 sky lights+ chimney cover & pocketed the money saying those apply to the deductible. 3.Hart did not replace the gutters nor did adjust the old gutters to drain into the down comers taking the water from roof away from the foundation. This caused a damage to the foundation upwards of $10,000. 4. They left portion of the roof incomplete with no shingles on it. Old gutters are still lying on the ground even now. Front of the roof has very poor workmanship visible to the naked eye. Any one wants to see their work can send me an email, I will gladly show you around. The house is still under limited warrant for materials & workmanship, waiting to see if they fix it. 5. Hart sued me for $19000( last payment I stopped after consulting Insurance CO+ $19000 in attorney fees, the judge disallowed all attorney fees & gave Hart only $10600 approximately out of last stopped payment of $19000. The roofing product and overall installation was good, but there were two warranty issues and a repair I wanted to get done. They refused to cover the warranty issues which were gutter related (which they also installed). It took them a week to get them to send me the estimate. I finally had to call them and ask a second time for the estimate. The guy said it went to my junk mail, so he emailed it again. That was BS. I checked my junk mail folder and it never went to my junk mail. I don't have the estimate from them any longer as they conveniently become unavailable online after a period of time. I do recall that they wanted approximately $800 for one of the simple gutter repairs. I found a different roof installer that came out within a day and made both gutter repairs for $200. And he did indicate the one gutter needed to be rehung as it was not fully secure. He also had less than flattering comments on the installation. The gutter guy I found also rehung a downspout (included in the $200). In addition to the lack of warranty coverage for items that should have been covered, and the ridiculously high estimate prices for work, I asked them for a consultation for solar panels. And guess what? I got crickets from them. No phone call, no email and no text regarding the solar panels. My impression of Roper Roofing is they are VERY expensive relative to the competition, they don't stand behind their work with warranty coverage when necessary, and their overall customer service was horrible in my interactions with them. I would NEVER recommend Roper Roofing to an enemy much less a friend.
