The lobster mac and cheese was amazing but that was all. We took our to a special dinner for his birthday and it sucked!! Our waiter was not at all concerned about us, he had tables on the patio and totally forget us. Didn't remove our appetizer plates, never asked how are meal was, didn't ask anything. Never came back to take another drink order after or first round. Forgot my sons drink all together. His attitude was as if could careless if we like our food or wanted anything. Ate here a few times during our visit at The Landing Hotel. It's convenient and food is decent with a nice selection of standard new American options. First time here and I will not be coming back. Went here today for breakfast after the holiday. Glasses and dishes were dirty (piece of pepper flake in my orange juice glass) Food was okay - There's potential for it to be great, but everything is trying too hard to be different. Worst part, the reason for my low review was service and staff members. When we got there, there were three host/esses and maybe 10 seated tables indoors and out in total. The entire host team was unwelcoming and not at all friendly. Very young and immature it seemed. Once seated our waitress took our drink order, coke and an orange juice, which took 20 minutes. The food was quicker to come out. There was a very nice young man working as a food runner who was working hard, even with the lack of direction being given to him. I wish he had a name tag! Not once did our server check in with us during our time. Not to see how the food was and never apologized for any of the long waits. The only interaction we had was ordering our drinks, then when we had to ask another busboy to bring her over so we could get the check. There is no management here and maybe it's because it's early on a holiday Monday, but this is not being managed well and there is no organization, or communication, from what I can tell. Went for brunch with a group of 6 after wedding dress shopping at posh. Ok this place is seriously cute!! Gives you a Hampton's feel! We came in around 2:30 and they had a brunch menu and an all day menu. We sat on the patio which was so cute! The service was incredible! The hostess and waiter were so kind and friendly. The waiter really sold the menu. His descriptions of the food was like food poetry ! He really sold the spinach and fraissee salad with bacon and duck egg. 5 out of the 6 of us ordered that. I would say that the presentation was beautiful! The duck egg was perfectly cooked and the bacon was thick and juicy! But the salad was pretty small for an entree and lacked a ton of flavor. An excellent dinner by the lake! We went for restaurant week and enjoyed some cocktails-highly suggest their Old Fashioned-we had the Buratta appetizer which was beautifully plated and tasted just as good. For restaurant week I did the Farmers Salad, which was dry and not my favorite. Though, I tried their strawberry salad and found that was much better. The star of the night though was the Beef Tenderloin which was cooked to perfection and melted in your mouth. The brussels it sat on and the butter on top complimented the beef and made this one of my favorite entrees for all of restaurant week. To finish things off we orderd 4 of their desserts - smores brownie, blueberry/raspberry pie, carrot cake and panna cotta. All were spectacular, but as a chocoholic the smore brownie was my favorite - so rich and well balanced with the vanilla ice cream. We'll be back for sure! read more

Just wish there was more flavor in the dishes overall, especially for the prices. Very average restaurant, ok food and drink, not very experienced staff! 1. Our waitress only handed the food menu and after a few minutes asked if we want to drink anything beside water! After receiving the drink menu, we ordered two cocktails, both below the average quality. When I complained to the waitress about my old fashioned, she said because it is premade! (She was kind enough to ask if I want to get something else, but I didn't take the offer). It is funny that they call it 925 Old Fashioned, as if it is the special drink of the whole menu! 2. It took about 20 minutes to receive our appetizer (just a Caesar salad!!!). And the food came shortly after that! They should understand that there is a reason that it is called appetizer! 3. Not sure why the Brick Burger is not in the best 10 burgers of the Twin Cities conversation. They also reinvented Carrot Cake, a wonderful surprise and delicious! My wife and I ate in the bar. Started with the Cheese Curds with Smoked Tomato s. I would come back just to eat those again. I had the Landing Burger which unique and delicious. My wife enjoyed the Turkey Rachael. It was restaurant week and I found a table at Nine Twenty Five in Wayzata Minnesota last Friday night. When we got there and after looking over the restaurant week menu I decided to order off that menu because they had a Friday night fish fry. On the fish fry was walleye, perch, and sunfish together with coleslaw and french fries. I have to say it was wonderful! The fish was lightly battered almost like tempura. The plate of fish was huge! I could hardly eat half of the serving. The rest I ate for lunch the next day. My companion had butternut squash ravioli. She said it was very tasty. We'll be going back. read more

My boyfriend and I wanted to try a new restaurant together to celebrate my recent promotion - the menu looked good, it wasn't supper far from our house, so we landed here! Started with the Brussels - they are roasted then flash fried to give some crisp. Texture was good, but they were pretty bland, especially for having been cooked with bacon and apple cider vinegar. For our main courses, we ordered the rice bowl and the fried chicken. We are both dairy free, it ended up taking a while to come out but I appreciated that they took extra precautions to make sure we wouldn't have any dairy. While we were waiting, someone at the table across from us got their fried chicken delivered, and we were excited because it looked delicious, large portion! However, she sent it back moments later bc it was still raw on the inside. Amateur chef move. We get ours, and I have my bf cut the largest piece down the middle - also uncooked. We sent it back and they got him the Halibut (really quick, pretty good). The rice bowl was ok - a little salty, but better than raw chicken. They offered accommodations for the inconvenience which we sincerely appreciated. Won't be at the top of our list to return to. read more

So delicious! Went with my sister and her boyfriend. I ordered the gnocchi which kinda sucked, but the walleye and French dip the others ordered made up for it and the server took care of the bill and removed the not great gnocchi and did us one better and brought dessert. I like everything about this place; service, food, wine by the glass selection, menu. Not cheap but I feel you get what you pay for. The ONLY shame is that it's not on the water! Lenny Russo recently took over 925 and I was very much looking forward to eating his food again. The man can cook. The hyper local concept was also appealing, especially in spring when wild foods are available. Of course, I ordered the morel mushroom fricasse with fiddleheads, fava beans and snap peas. Sadly, the delicate flavors were hammered by cumin and red pepper. Why not just coddle them in a little butter as the name of the dish would suggest? Under normal circumstances I would have sent the dish back (yes I'm that kind of person) but our server was uninterested in our reactions to the food. We got off on the wrong foot with him, when he described a drink made with agave as a "vodka cocktail." After I mentioned that there was no vodka listed in the ingredients, he said: "I'm telling you what it's like, not what's in it." Ok then. On the positive side, our starter of asparagus with bearnaise sauce and a runny duck egg was outstanding. The walleye was also well done, although the cold crayfish heaped on the warm fish cooled the dish down to tepid in no time. I will certainly give 925 another chance. In fact I invited a friend to have lunch there this week. She declined, saying it was too risky at these prices. I have to agree that spending more than $100 for food that mostly missed the mark leaves a kind of sick feeling. read more

From the time we walked in nobody greeted us. We had a reservation and still had to wait 10 minutes for them to clear off a table. Incredible atmosphere. Perfect patio ( friendly!) Upper level seating is inspired. Novel. Lunch dishes were accented. For example, hickory smoked tortilla chips. The Chicken Club was filling. Additional health conscious options would be welcome. Prices are quite reasonable. Need to come back for happy hour. Music on Tuesday's and Thursday's. Surprisingly quiet on weekday for lunch the day on July 3rd. But I liked the peace and calm versus blaring music. read more

The food was great and the service also, the only problem is that is a bit slow when it comes to serving the food. We ordered their burger and it was delicious, the fries where perfectly cooked and the tomato sauce had a very delicious particular taste. The salad was also great although I would suggest less dressing to be able to enjoy all the flavors, and adding the chicken was a great idea since it was perfectly done yet a bit overpriced for an add on ($12) so my salad was overall $26 (a bit overpriced for a salad. I think the place is great but be ready to spend more than the usual for the plates. read more

Stopped in for a quick drink and appetizer before an event with girlfriends. Service was fast, friendly, and attentive.

Went in with high expectations given the hotel property and luxury vibe and was very disappointed. Met three girlfriends for Sunday brunch. We made a reservation because it was super bowl weekend and we assumed it would be packed with out of towners flocking to this sweet, boutique hotel. The restaurant was not busy at all. Our table of four was sat upstairs next to a window (great view in the summer) but unfortunately was an incredible my drafty spot. Tons of tables on the first level in the warmer, action packed part of the restaurant. We did not ask to move. Our server was initially friendly, brought coffee and cocktails and took our food order promptly when we mentioned we were ready to rock. We ordered a second round of brunch cocktails about 15 mins after placing our food order (food had not arrived yet). After another 10 or so mins our food arrived but our cocktails had not. 2 of our orders were completely wrong, and our server did not even apologize for the mixup. She took our plates and began to walk away when we reminded her of our drinks. She was visibly frazzled and unapologetic. Hey- mistakes happen, how you recover and correct them is what's really important in the service industry. At this point the manager came over, apologized and offered to remove something from our bill for the inconvenience. When our food finally arrived it was good but not outstanding. I ordered the Brussels and Bacon hash. I love that they have a gluten free bread option. Bacon was crispy and the eggs were perfectly fried, however the Brussels needed a bit more crisp and flavor. When our bill arrived nothing at been removed and it took them 10+ mins to adjust it after we pointed it out. At no point during our brunch did our server apologize for the inconvenience of a mixed up order or incorrect bill. She seemed generally annoyed when we kindly pointed out when things were not quite right. Willing to give this spot a second chance because it is such a beautiful hotel and has potential. Hopeful they can make some simple changes to improve overall guest experience. read more

4 stars for food. 3.5 stars for service. Crab cakes were very good, butternut squash ravioli tasted great, walleye Milanesa was decent. I was expecting more of a cracker crumb pan fry to the walleye. There is a picture of the walleye on the restaurant website and mine did not look like that. The walleye breaks up nicely into the wild rice and is a nice lighter dish if that's what you are in the mood for. The server described it as a lighter dish so that's fair. Staff was friendly but slow and did not check back when food was delivered. For instance, salt and pepper was not on the table and was needed for the food. We did not see the server until the food was consumed. Also, had to wave down for the tab. She thanked us for our patience which always eases the pain when it's slow. They ask on the website if there is a special occasion. Anniversary in our case. I was not expecting anything free but if you ask that question you should at least greet the guest with a congratulations upon arrival. That message should be removed from the reservation system if not acknowledged. They could do a few little things to upscale the experience to the setting, location, and prices. read more

We had an interesting New Year's day brunch this morning at 925 in Wayzata. Starting with reservations at 11am for 6 we had a small snafu with seating, which 925 offered to handle quite graciously. From that point on the front of the house failed quite miserably. Our party watched as 4 people prepped a table, then prepped it again. Then left. Then another pair once again cleaned and prepped the already prepped seating. This wasn't a linen setting, just a bare breakfast table. No plates, flatware or serving pieces, just condiments. At this point they walked off without addressing anybody in our group, leaving us to wonder what to do. Eventually a server asked why we hadn't seated? We responded that we hadn't been told the table was ready. The server seated us and brought water (thankfully). At 11:40 we finally were asked if we'd like beverages and given menus. At 11:56 we didn't have our beverages and were still looking for flatware and to order. Shortly thereafter we were able to order. 30 minutes later food began to arrive. Still no flatware or napkins. Upon finding a server at the service station we were able to negotiate for something with which to eat our food. Which, by the way, was quite good. Including several items our table didn't order. One guest had a steak cooked rare which he had ordered med/well. The steak was quickly dispatched for correction only to return 20 minutes later. A reminder that an order of pancakes had been forgotten was left to the ether... until after I paid the bill...then...miraculously...pancakes arrive. Not at all acceptable for the price, location, and expectations of an upscale brunch. Front of house gets a D. A big fat D for struggling through with the bare minimum. Food gets a B-. It was good, but sporadic ticket control made our experience less than it should be and only accentuated the front of house problems. Shape up 925, you're in Wayzata and charging a premium. After getting a cork for a free glass of wine, my wife and I thought we would give it a try, even though we had heard they had some issues with service. Now, we walked in and immediately went to the hostess stand. The young lady there was very nice, but she had ZERO idea as to what tables were available outside on the patio. So, she left the stand to physically check it out. I thought that most places would be tracking what tables were filled. She disappeared for several minutes before we were seated. Strike one. After we were seated outside - at a dirty table - the hostess dropped off the brunch menu (and nothing else) when she seated us. There were no silverware settings and the waiter finally appeared several minutes later, even though the patio was basically empty. We asked for the drink menu and then he disappeared for about five minutes. We figured he was trying to ogle the woman a couple of tables down from us with the low-cut dress. He eventually came back to "apologize" for his lack of attention. And then after my wife flagged him down for the drinks list (beer and hard liquor/mixed drinks only), he did return. And that's all he came back with - just that menu. He did not bring the wine list, which most would assume would have been included in the drinks menu. One other couple, who were seated after us, left because they were basically ignored. After we flagged down the manager on duty for a wine list, we waited even longer for her to return with the wine list. It had now been well over ten minutes. The place was at maybe 20% capacity and there were more than enough wait staff around, although most were standing around and chatting. Strike three. When the manager had finally returned, we stood up, announced that we were leaving (calmly), while the manager stood there with a look on her face that we had just slapped her with a dead fish. And then told us to "have a nice day" in a very snotty tone of voice. Just can't recommend this place to anyone. After being open for several months, you think that they would have worked out the issues on customer service. So giving this place one star was difficult. read more

Went there today, the odd Monday before July 4th. Wanted to check it out. Had a great initial experience. It was an off day at an off hour so all very quiet. Hostess was friendly and answered our questions on what were the different menus since they just opened and it was our first time there. We took a seat at the bar and Jeremiah was the bar tender. Friendly, knowledgeable. And helpful. Asked about some wine choices and his recommendations were spot on. Life was good on a sunny afternoon in Wayzata in the newest restaurant. I hope they do well. However the shift change happened at 3:00 pm. My review goes downhill from here. New bartender did not once recognize our existence. We were the only ones at the bar. We had closed our tab with Jeremiah but were thinking about ordering from the bar menu which looked great at reasonable prices and another glass of wine. With no recognition we were there figured it was time to go. We will be back. The menus looked great and prices for Wayzata were reasonable. I'm sure it was just an off day for the shift change.
