2nd time here and was very impressed! We had our choice of sitting inside or out on their patio. We chose to sit inside, in their cute, retro diner interior. I ordered the biscuit and gravy which came with eggs and hashbrowns. The portion was plentiful and the flavor was wonderful! My wife ordered the chicken biscuit with hashbrowns and is always a fan! Their coffee is very delicious as well! The service was great as always! read more

Pros: - Food is so good! The menu is huge. But I feel like everything on it is done well. There are some standard brunch items and many unique items you don't see all the time. I had a blueberry matcha latte and the Hawaiian bowl. My husband got the pork belly biscuit. It all was tasty and I'd order any of it again. - Service and accommodations! You're able to make a reservation online. Availability was good. Though we had some more family wanting to join. I gave the restaurant a call and they were super helpful in increasing our party size. Our server was also wonderful. Very patient with our large group, especially the kids. - Space is big and airy. Lots of cool, colorful art. Cons: - A little loud. Definitely not an intimate brunch spot. - Bathrooms could have been a little nicer. The toilet seat in one of the stalls was crooked. And the sink area was a little disheveled. read more

Decided to try this place out for Mother's Day. Found out it was reservation only (I'm guessing because it was Mother's Day busy). They did not take walk-in but you could wait around if reservation didn't show up. However, it was truly our lucky day because I think it was the manager that stepped in and asked how big is our party and because we were just 2 adult and 1 baby, they were able to split a table for us to get seated right away! I did not catch the name but I do want to say we really appreciate the awesome service! Ambient is a bit loud here. We sat right in front of the kitchen so could hear the pots and pans as well but it wasn't a problem. They have a cute set up which is also nice. Iced Strawberry Matcha- seasonal drink according to the seasonal side menu. Nothing special but you can definitely taste the match and strawberry. It tasted like fresh strawberry in matcha. It just didn't seem like they mix well together to me. But not a bad drink. For me, it could be sweeter but I'm on the sweeter side. South style fried chicken and waffle: portion is big. Love the gravy and also jalapeño syrup. Very different yet delicious. I was going back and forth between this and the normal chicken and waffle but I think the original looks like chicken strips with waffle so it didn't catch my eye. Definitely recommend to try. Monkey cake: who doesn't love chocolate, peanut butter, banana on a pancake? Super sweet of course but it was also good. The service is good and fast. Food came out pretty quickly I would say so we didn't have to wait long. For a busy day, we were in and out within maybe 45 mins or an hour? It is located in a busy shopping center but plenty of parking space. This is definitely a brunch place we would go back. I do wish they have skillets and egg Benedict so maybe in the future? I was also surprised they didn't have either but a lot of other options on the menu. read more

Many reviewers note the noise, and it can be a bit much, but when the place isn't full, it's just fine. As was the Chicken & Waffles, side of scrambled eggs, and good black coffee. Our server seemed overly busy and brought us hot water instead of a coffee refill, but she was attentive and pleasant. I would echo comments about the bathrooms needing more attention, but it is the rare Twin Cities restaurant that realizes how much impact that has on a diner's decision to return. read more

Service was good. And the atmosphere is pretty. But the food was not... good lol. I say... don't waste your money here. Only the waffles, and drinks. Was reasonable enough. Can't mess those up. Everything else, not so much. read more

Salmon on a bagel was an absolute disaster. Terrible sauce, marinated cucumbers, just plain wet. Service was good. Ambiance was average at best. read more

Ok! I finally made it to this neat bigger than expected breakfast bar and it was better than I thought! Bright, nice set up with the unconventional seating, it made it cozy and a bit more intimate. Food was great. The avocado smoked salmon was different! Wasn't toast it was a full bagel (a lot of carbs but still delicious ) the carrots are a good idea but their not cut properly, or thin enough to bite down and not fight with it. The home made pickles were nice and acidic.. The service was mediocre. No bill, so they stand there with the hand held staring at you. Its weird but technology is what it is.. DEFINITELY WORTH THE TRY! WELCOME TO THE AREA .. read more

A great selection of vegetarian and vegan food in additions to your regular temptations of pancakes, waffles, and fried chicken! Many options for comfort food and they have a full bar! Plenty of non-alcoholic drinks. Kid friendly and very casual but upscale ambiance. Service is a bit slow because they're busy so just be patient. The food is worth the wait. It's a good place to chat with friends as long as you're not in a hurry. Worth a try if you're in the Centennial area of Edina! read more

We had a wonderful experience today! Thomas was kind, hospitable & helped us navigate the menu. We ended up ordering the breakfast sandwich and biscuits & gravy and enjoyed the generous portions. Ugh. This was the most disappointed that I have been in a long time, but, let's be honest, I should have known. We came here for a work breakfast to celebrate tax season being over and we were really excited because the menu looked amazing.. The service was great, our server was nice, remembered everything, attentive, and all the things that you would want from your server. No issues there. It's cute in there. It isn't a standard breakfast spot, it's got some decor to it, and it's got a nice, clean, energetic ambiance.. no issues there. The food sucked. First off, we all ordered totally different things and everything was just very MEH MEH. Nothing was amazing, and it was shocking because the food came out not even 7 minutes after we ordered.. and it was a large order. In that moment I knew it was not going to be amazing because there is just nooo way it can come out that fast. I got the cheesy grits and the smoked salmon bagel sandwich. First off, they slathered so much pimento cream cheese on there it totally cancelled out anything else. Secondly, there was hardly any smoked salmon on there. Very very disappointing! I could have gone to Breuggers and gotten a better smoked salmon bagel sandwich.. which for $20... should not have been the case. The only thing that I actually enjoyed was my cardamom pistachio oatmilk latte.. it just sucked though because they served it in this huge glass and it got cold really fast! Subpar. Maybe make the menu smaller so you can focus on having better and more quality dishes. Will not be going back here. read more

I have gone to both the Edina and Eagan locations of Hope breakfast bar and have had good experiences with both. The only issue I have had so far is simply that it is a very busy business and can be a long wait time depending on the day and time you come in. For the food I've had the chicken and waffles, the pimento chicken biscuit, and the dill pickle pretzel. Chicken biscuit - I enjoyed this but wouldn't necessarily order again - the pickles veggies included carrots which was interesting but the hot honey glazed chicken tender was delish The dill pickle pretzel was surprisingly very delicious - the pretzel itself was SO GOOD and the savory dill seasoning on top was it also came with a pickle seasoned cream cheese but I honestly ate a lot of the pretzel without it - Definitely something you'd want to share with multiple people though (it's 3 lbs.) Lastly I had the fried chicken and waffles - this one was not what I expected because what I meant/thought I had ordered was the SOUTHERN fried chicken and waffles which includes gravy and bone in chicken. Anyway it was good for what it was but obviously different than my expectation (I wish the waitress had maybe clarified or asked which chicken and waffles I wanted). Overall this restaurant is a cute place with good food and I would definitely come again to try other things on the menu. read more

We had a delicious and quick lunch! Flavors were traditional American and everything was executed very well. I really loved my chicken fried steak and eggs. The fried steak was crispy crunchy and topped with a savory gravy with chunks of mushrooms. Our Thursday reservation was for 12:30. We arrived 15 minutes early, but were seated immediately. Service was attentive and friendly. We were in and out in 40 minutes. Ambiance is casual modern. I especially love their salt and pepper shakers that are shaped like eggs - adorable! My family also loved their Breakfast Sandwich and the Banana Churro Waffle. This is the 3rd Hope Breakfast location we've tried and their food, service and ambiance have been superb at each location. read more

I met a colleague here for a business meeting and it was a great place to connect. It's nice and bright in here and has a good energy vibe. I ordered buttermilk pancakes for breakfast and my friend got the blueberry pancakes. I loved my stack. Ate three pancakes without hesitation. Nice scoop of whipped butter on top and plenty of syrup. My friend said the blueberry pancakes were a bit too sweet so maybe next time ask for blueberry sauce on the side. I also had a hot latte which was delicious. Service was a bit slow but we weren't in a hurry so nothing to worry about. Great way to start the day. read more

Went for my birthday and had a wonderful experience! Started with the spring spritz and birthday cake shot, both were great! For apps we had the donut basket and giant pickle pretzel. The pickle pretzel was phenomenal! Would for sure get again! For main meal had the breakfast sandwich with hashbrowns, enjoyed it very much. Others tried the McHope Sandwich which was simple but enjoyable. Someone also had the pork carnitas bowl, it was okay, nothing special. Probably wouldn't get again. Was also surprised with birthday pancakes which we devoured. Our server was great, so kind! Overall great atmosphere too. read more

When your day starts off bad, don't EVEN try to bring your own little espresso drink in. The host will yell at you that you and your little drink are not welcome in their establishment. I was going to order water to drink anyways. SUPER LOUD in there also. The host chased me down all the way to back of the restaurant until I heard him yelling at me. I let the people I was meeting that I would not be spending my money there. Terrible customer service. read more

Our family went to Hope Breakfast Bar while we were in town for a quick getaway. I love the clean, bright atmosphere and the staff was all friendly and welcoming. There are lots of unique food choices as well as some classics. I ordered the pork belly and biscuit which was so good, however I did wish for a side salad or a fresh bite with the super savory dish. My husband got the Hawaiian bowl which was also tasty but definitely more of a lunch dish. Bloody's were good and our kids enjoyed a super fun NA unicorn mimosa. Would love to come back to try some more of their dishes! read more

Food got worse after every bite. Had to wait so long for everything, the food, the drinks, and for the check. Overpriced

We had been to the St. Paul location once but this was our first time at the Edina location. It is so cozy and well-designed inside. The restaurant was bright and the opened garage-style doors leading to the outdoor eating area were great. We had great service and phenomenal food. The photos speak for themselves!! My only complaints: - The water glasses were so small and we would have definitely appreciated a water pitcher being left at the table so we could pour refills. - We ordered coffee beverages and they did not arrive until we were halfway done with our meals. The server was regularly checking with the bar staff for the drinks so I know it wasn't due to a lack of service. This was a bummer, but they were delicious when they did arrive! read more

Friday mid morning brunch was busy full. Partner had the Hot Honey Chicken Sandwich w/ hash browns...hot honey as in spiced honey though mild enough. McHope was my choice and was ok, biscuit was more than flaky it crumbled apart. Bacon was not warm even & stringy, that was the downside. Service was attentive & quick. Decor the same as the St Louis Park location. Drinks were the Spring Spritz and an Espresso. read more

The food was too salty, and the customer service was disappointing. I ordered a steak that came with hash browns, but I was still charged for an extra hash brown because the server never explained there would be an additional charge. They also forgot my eggs, and this wasn't the first time they left an item out of my order. I recommend checking your order before leaving. Don't be afraid to open your bag and make sure everything you paid for is included. The repeated mistakes and poor communication made this a disappointing experience. read more

Since my first visit here over a year ago when they were still rather new, I've been back a couple times and I still stand by a lot of what I wrote then but have a few new things to say about Hope. If your plan is to go on a weekend for brunch/breakfast, plan to go early or plan to wait. We went yesterday (there were 2 of us) and we waited almost 45 minutes for a table. Once you're inside and seated, the place is LOUD. One of the loudest restaurants I can remember in a while. Every table is full up and the place has very little buffers for sound. As for the food, I've tried a few more dishes and they aren't really bad. They are mostly just OK. The menu is giving off "fancy brunch" but the actual taste is giving "we tried." Once I heaped on some salt and pepper it made things a lot better. Unfortunately, my breakfast partner and I both got cold hashbrowns yesterday (literally just barely cooked potatoes with no seasonings). Kinda weird when they're so busy. The service is exactly like you expect when the place is being slammed. But my god it's popular. read more

I've heard so many great things about Hope Breakfast Bar! Not just about their food but also about their mission to support communities. I appreciate whenever restaurants offer reservations. This location has a large dining area plus an outdoor seating option. Although the outdoor seating view is just the parking lot. Service was excellent. Very friendly front and back waiters. Clean, non-gender bathrooms too! Now for the food: we ordered the hot chicken and stuffing waffles and the avocado toast with poached egg. Both were excellent! The hot chicken was crispy, spicy, and had a drizzle of hot honey. The avocado toast came loaded with veggies, pickles, and a beautiful poached egg on the side. I've loved every time I've gone to Hope Breakfast Bar in St Paul and West End, so I am thrilled to see another new location open up! The Edina location has great parking, the patio is super cute, and the interior is so well decorated and well lit. This time I ordered the pina colada French toast, which is a great vegan option! I love that it's made with coconut milk instead of regular milk. The location is new, but the servers were so friendly and attentive. I can't wait to come back again soon! read more

Went at about 2pm on a Friday and chose to sit outside. Took a minute for the waitress but she brought water, which I always appreciate and let us know no alcohol outside but that is fine because we weren't planning on drinking. I ordered the matcha lemonade, which was delish, and my friend ordered drip coffee which came in an old fashioned stanley and she got milk and sugar. I ordered the pimento eggs n toast. It was good, the server told me it would be spicy but it wasn't spicy, just flavorful enough and I added cholulah from the table because I like spicy eggs. Perfect amount of food with the toast and hashbrowns, my friend got the regular breakfast of eggs, hashbrowns and bacon. My only complaint is the bathrooms! Tiny, one stalls (3, one being a handicap stall) , where a man had left the toilet used and seat up... EW i opted for the 3rd less recently used stall... I'm a regular size human and it was tight... then the SINKS are so low its like for children it hurt my back, I'm 5'5. Also, nowhere to put ur purse while washing hands so that also isn't impressive. Food service was incredibly fast. Great service just shitty bathrooms... literally. read more

Food was ok but overpriced. I had the stuffed poblano with "seasoned" hash browns. The hash browns lacked seasoning and supposedly there was enchilada sauce on the poblano - but indiscernible. $6 for a drip coffee? This breakfast did little to fulfill my hopes. Did the service make up for the food inadequacies? Nope. read more

After waiting a very long time to get seated, while in a very short line, a couple who just walked in snagged the table the host was cleaning off for us. The host was slow and uncommunicative. Once we got seated, service was very slow. We sat for about 15-20 min. Waiting for our check, and my fountain drink was never refilled. The food looks good, but it isn't. I love pickled veggies, but both our dishes were covered in massive amounts of pickled veg. The pickling is very sweet and doesn't have any tang or spice. We didn't like it and felt like it ruined both dishes. We got the chili crisp bowl and Avo toast. The chili crisp bowl was extremely light on chiii crisp and the Avo toast was too light on everything seasoning. The Avo toast should be called guac toast- it tasted like store bought guac and the toast didn't seem toasted at all. It's a cute spot but maybe focus on coffee and drinks. Skip the food. Very underwhelming and we left hungry. read more

I ordered the Hope breakfast- the eggs were great, the loaded hash browns were so over cooked, I think they might have been on the grill for hours. The single piece of toast was dry. The coffee was good but the waiter gave me a teaspoon of cream and when I asked for additional cream, I received a snarky comment from the waiter about having some coffee with my cream.
