The man said the waffles were good but the chicken was meh (kind of dry and flavorless); I concur because I always taste hi food. The hash browns were good and again the mimosas were great. I'm glad Forney has another breakfast/brunch spot. We'll go back and try out other dishes (the burgers looked amazing) and more mimosas. We spent about $75 with tip.

Nina's Brunch used to be a family favorite--a place we could count on for quality food, generous portions, and great memories. Unfortunately, it feels like things have taken a turn over the years under the same management. Smaller portions and noticeable declines in food quality have made it hard to justify the same enthusiasm we once had for this spot. We have noticed a lack of cleanliness as well over the past few visits. Food: - Chicken Fried Chicken (4/10): This dish was a disappointment. The portion size was noticeably smaller than what we were used to, and the quality just wasn't there. The breading lacked the crunch and flavor that makes chicken fried chicken so satisfying, and the chicken itself was dry and underwhelming. It felt like a rushed effort, far from the hearty, comforting dish we remember. - Avocado Toast (4/10): Another letdown. While avocado toast is a simple dish, it still requires attention to detail to stand out, and this one didn't deliver. The bread was lackluster, and the avocado spread was bland and missing the freshness you'd expect. Overall: It's disheartening to see a place that once held so much promise and family tradition fall into mediocrity. While we understand that restaurants evolve and become oversaturated, it feels like Nina's Brunch has prioritized cutting costs over maintaining the quality and experience that made it special. I want to preface this by saying that I never go out of my way to write a review unless it's significant and even then the task gets washed way by more pertinent things to do in my day. I even set an alarm for me not to forget. I was pleasantly surprised and thoroughly impressed by the service at his hole-in-the-wall brunch place. It was very busy when we arrived and the venue itself is small, so naturally, I was skeptical when the hostess said it was a 30 minute wait. 30 minutes on the dot we got the text. Nice. We were greeted by our server, Michael, next who took our entire order. He had maybe about 4 or more other tables besides ourselves, and he worked all of them with conviction and intention. Our drinks came out in a flash, and I was a mere two sips in before our yummy food followed. I got a perfectly battered country fried steak, over medium eggs cooked to perfection and side of juicy, sweet fruit. The wait times were impressive enough but what really got me was the unobtrusive and mindful service. I never expect above average service at restaurants with average price marks, so when our silver was remarked for desert and my water, coffee and rose were placed to my right in the order of price I was quite impressed. 11/10. 6 stars out of 5. Golden buzzer. Can't wait to dine here again. read more

The bun was toasted perfectly while the beef patty itself sang lovely taste notes in our mouths. I think these are charbroiled patties cause they had tasty bits of char. The seasoning was perfect on the meat and it was a nice plump size. They do not shy away from balsamic vinegar glaze and I'm here for it. I opted for the pasta salad instead of chips and it was a simple and clean recipe. Fresh tomatoes and grated cheese topped the salad. Super refreshing. My mother and law and I split the amazing roasted Brussel sprouts. Again, a nice balsamic glaze and cheese topped these as well. The place has a lovely charm and warmth to it. I believe we were interacting with the family who owns and runs the place when we went, the chef came by to ask how things were. My wife adored the books since she's on the hunt for her next read! We moved here in May and finally were able to come and try their food can't wait to come back!

Chose the pasta salad as a side which was also good. - got an additional side of crispy brussel sprouts! Dessert was unique: white chocolate BACON bread pudding - really enjoyed this! So glad we stopped by here during our time in Forney!

Located in an old building, it's simple, unpretentious with friendly staff, good service and very reasonable prices. I thought the prices were unbelievably low. The food was good. The eggs were perfectly cooked. The hashbrowns were just like I wanted them, extra crispy. The only food complaint is the busicuit was to sweet for my taste.

Unfortunately, after what happened during our most recent visit, we will not be returning. My husband ordered the shrimp dinner. While eating, he found a hair in his food. He removed it and continued eating without making a big deal about it. Then he found another hair and removed that one as well. As he was about to take another bite, I noticed a long hair in his food and pulled it out myself. At that point, we called the waitress over. She saw the hair on the plate, apologized, and took his meal away. She never offered to replace the meal or asked if he would like something else. My husband ended up finishing some of my meal instead. When it was time to pay, we discovered they had only taken half the price of his meal off the bill. When I questioned why we were being charged for food that had multiple hairs in it, I was told they had spoken with the cook and, because my husband had eaten all but one shrimp, they were only willing to take half off. The amount they still charged us was $6.49. For us, this was never really about $6.49. It was about how the situation was handled. We have spent a lot of money at Terrell Cafe over the years and have been regular customers several times a week. When a loyal customer finds multiple hairs in a meal, I would expect the restaurant to simply apologize and remove that meal from the bill. I told them at checkout that we would not be returning. It is disappointing that a restaurant we have supported so often was willing to lose loyal customers over $6.49. I also feel our community should know how this situation was handled. Mistakes can happen in any restaurant, but how a business responds to a mistake says a lot. Unfortunately, we were extremely disappointed with the response we received. Kellee & Blue
