Small little ramen spot we found while walking. Seating: probably can only fit 14 people in bar station, and extra 6 on the regular tables. All the people that works there are Japanese. Ordering: via the table in front of you on your table..you get 10% off if you signed up for free membership. There's small waiting area or you can wait outside. We ordered: Black bowl White bowl Red bowl Curry rice. Overall food is pretty good. Restroom: 1 gender neutral restroom The only thing that's wierd is we overheard customers with kids ordered to go,but they cannot get member price because they ordered to go, and they don't have plastic bag for them to carry out 3 ramen. Interesting. One other thing: One of our ramen bowl, the ramen dried and stuck together even though I tried to losen it up in the broth, it won't budge. So the guy replaced a new one for me and give a extra piece of meat.

Fantastic new ramen place. Most of the space is a big bar area where you sit around and there are individual ordering kiosks per seat. You place the order on the kiosk, it's pretty self explanatory. The menu is small besides the ramens there are also rice dishes. I had the black garlic. It comes with nori but no egg. I opted to add Woodear mushrooms. It comes fairly quickly. - noodles - thin, good chewiness, I like it. Good texture. - pork belly - really good. Thin, fatty, really great flavour. - broth - pretty standard black garlic. Decent. Not outstanding but more than good enough. - other stuff - I loved the woodear mushrooms. I also loved that they include naruta (fish cake). Overall for a quick inexpensive ramen bowl I. This area this is a great place.

I loved the ramen it was soooo good! I wanted the black garlic w veggie broth but couldn't make it happen due to the kiosk ordering system. The staff were friendly, the pork broth was super rich and the seating was casual and quick style!!!

I'm not the biggest fan of ramen but my friend loves it so we checked out this place. The interior is built for solo dining with a few tables in the back for groups. I have to admit that the quality and price for the ramen is quite decent and the matcha pudding (this item is a bit pricier) is really good (you can keep the small jar). They did forget my fish cake slice, and we needed to ask to have our water refilled but the food is good.

Flavor profiles here are much better than Horin but their staff needs to work on their serving skills. When serving the bowls they only announce the type of soup - we had to figure out whether it was thin/thick noodle, little/lots oil, add ons, etc ourselves. They also forgot one add on and gave it to us at the end when we were almost done our noodles. One of our 6 people table got their ramen while others were halfway done. The black garlic ramen had copious amounts of black garlic - plus points for that! The curry tasted like box curry - one came with a curry spoon and one without.

Can't go wrong with a ninja dog themed ramen shop right? I love that you feel transported to a shop in Japan when you arrive. The ramen was tasty and there were quite a few add-ons to choose from as well. They do have a cheaper price point than most ramen shops in the downtown/Chinatown area but they also have a smaller portion size so keep that in mind! With that said you can always add-on extra noodles or meat!

walked by and decided to check it out. bar seating and you order on a tablet. had a bit of a wait. i got the white bowl which is the basic one and it achieved the ramen flavors i wanted. the red bowl didn't have that much spice and the black bowl needed more of that garlic flavor. was told the curry rice was not that great.

Green Bowl (vegan) with extra tofu

Middle-of-the-road ramen place with a vegan option. They opened about a month ago, so I decided to check them out. They have 4 ramens, 1 of which is vegan. Ordering is done via computer screen. If you add your email or phone number, you get the "member price" ($1 off the ramens, and slightly cheaper prices for other things). I got the Green Ramen ($14.90 member price) and added 3 additional pieces of tofu ($1.80 member price). The ramen came out in about 10 minutes with 6 pieces of tofu, bean sprouts, some spinach leaves, and plenty of noodles. The broth was fairly light, with only a light hint of the Sichuan pepper--the bottom of the bowl seemed to have a richer, nuttier, complex broth profile. Overall, not bad. I'd prefer a richer, more complex broth, and more/better toppings (a few spinach leaves and bean sprouts isn't much for vegetables). Very friendly service. Nice spot. Hard to see how this place will compete with such good vegan ramen offerings in Vancouver.

Amazing ramen shop. Authentic experience and taste of Japan. The restaurant is clean and service is quick and pleasant. The ramen broth is good and very well priced.

Vegan Ramen option with Tofu (I added fishcake)

Lovely little neighborhood ramen shop in international village! Seating and service on a Thursday evening at 6:30 were quick and courteous. 4 Ramen options. We had the black and the vegan. What I was most grateful for was a noodle and broth option for my 5-year-old, supplied with scissors to cut down the noodles.

The guy in front of me, Deng, looked at me with such envy as he cut in line. This place is incredibly popular! Every time I pass by, there's a long queue. Even on rainy days, people are willing to get soaked in the rain just to have a bowl of hot tonkotsu ramen. While you're queuing, the staff will hand out menus. The ordering system is similar to Ichiran Ramen; you can choose the noodle firmness, broth consistency, spiciness, green onions, oil level, and MSG amount . The basic ramen is only $13. I added a soft-boiled egg and pickled cabbage for $2 each. Although the pickled cabbage is really expensive , I can't help it, I'm a pickled cabbage addict! The pickled cabbage paired with the rich tonkotsu broth was refreshing. The broth was flavorful but not greasy, the noodles were chewy and springy, and the portion size was just right. Overall, it's incredibly good value for money; no wonder there's always a queue. After eating, you really get that "Ah~ this is the taste of happiness" feeling

This time, still a line, but it went faster. This is definitely not a sit down and enjoy your meal w anyone. Order your food from a slip of paper you're given so that by the time you sit, they collect it and place the order. Seats are hard and it is devised where you and then leave. I had the goma vegetarian and my brother the tonkatsu. We both had thicker noodles. However, one could not tell. The vegetarian was loaded with sesame seeds. Now i love those seeds but it was way too much for my liking. Too much seeds to chew on. They also do not put any vegetables on like Hawaii does. Everything is ala carte and that adds up. I simply chose the ramen version without all the add ons. The broth was yummy but again with the loaded seeds, it made it challenging to just drink the soup. I will say, Hawaii has by far better ramen, but this place was ok too. Pricey for for what you get though.

The moment I bit into it, it was bursting with juice! The meat was incredibly thick but not dry at all, and the outer skin was crispy like snowflakes. The first bite was amazing; I've never had such a delicious pork cutlet in Shanghai. Curry Pork Cutlet Rosu Curry $29.5 My friend ordered the curry pork cutlet today, and it was surprisingly excellent! The curry flavor was incredibly rich and full-bodied. Wrapped in the crispy pork cutlet and eaten with rice, it was pure carb bliss! Freshly Ground Sesame Powder I have to praise their freshly ground sesame powder; the aroma of the sesame seeds you grinded yourself was a real highlight. * With lemon salt: Refreshing and original, a perfect way to cut through the richness! * With barbecue sauce: Mixed with sesame powder, the flavors develop layer by layer. With two flavors to choose from, it's really hard to stop! I'll definitely come back to try it again next time.

The crust was light and crispy and tte pork loin pieces have the perfect balance of fat and lean meat. How was it perfect? Every bit I took had a good portion of juicy fat. The lean meat was tender and moist as well. The whole meal was mouth watering bite after bite. Rice, miso soup, and cabbage came with unlimited refill. I was planning on requesting a second serving of cabbage but I was full at the end. The dipping sauce for the katsu was a little too tard for me though so I could only dap my katsu pieces very very lightly in it so I wasn't able to experience the full flavour of the sauce. However, I was able to savour the flavour of the pork loin itself. It was a lovely meal. The staff was very helpful, professional and friendly as well. The restaurant decor is modern, airy, comfortable, and inviting.
