My gut feeling about this restaurant? It will grow, and I will say I knew it when it was young and remember the days without the lines, when it was finding it's way. Really. It has: The best Simosas I've ever had - spice perfect. It has: REALLY GOOD FOOD. Made fresh. Worth the wait. Fun things to peruse while you are waiting (why not peruse a few books, a few sari's, some jewels) -- perhaps at some point the tables will be so filled in this place there will be no room for merchandise! Check it out. It has: Delicious, kind food. Music that calms the mind and any excess hunger. A genuine Indian cultural vibe. An interesting story on how the restaurant began. A beautiful space (awesome ceiling). A clean space. I've passed this building many times - wondering what it will be next on this block that seems like it needs something... blissful. This has become my new favorite spot in town! There are few things I have never experienced anywhere else then at Nimai's Bliss Kitchen. First of all, they make fresh Fulka(Fluffed ) Roti (Bread), even at the buffet time, they serve this at your table with clarified butter on top or without butter the way you like. The owner of the Restaurant takes care of their guests very well. I have been at this place many times now, but for some reason I don't get tired of their food. Every time I find something new and tasty that blows my mind. All the food items are perfectly cooked and seasoned. In food, you don't find artificial flavors or artificial colors.. very natural ingredients and not over powering. The food is really delicious, fresh, creative, healthy, homemade and yet subtle and simple. Good restaurant should be called Great or Best. I honestly don't get the bad reviews! We have been going to this restaurant off and on for several years. If it were closer to our house, we would probably go there once a week!! The food is amazing! It's all vegetarian, so for someone who is looking for Chicken Tikka Masala, they won't have it. However, I am a partial vegetarian and found that there was enough variety at the buffet that I didn't miss having meat at all. The food is always fresh and delicious, and the staff is helpful and attentive. (again, not understanding the bad reviews). If you are looking for good healthy meal which is very tasty and not expensive at all, Nimai's Bliss Kitchen is the way to go. All the food they serve is made out of all fresh and mostly organic ingredients. They try to offer you new varieties of fine Indian and international delicacies every day. They have so many vegan and vegetarian items in the menu that will blow your mind. Their all you can eat buffet is only 9.99. They also offer many different menu items like smoothies, wraps, samosas etc if you don't want to eat the buffet. Their lentil wrap(dosa wrap) is really out of control. Fragrant, colorful, and blissfully yummy Ayurvedic food ... and take as much as you like, at the buffet table. They always offer at least two delicious soups, and they come to your table at least two or three times during your meal to offer piping hot flat breads ranging from crispy to chewy. Today i was with a friend and mentioned to the staff that it was his birthday; they came over to give us a free piece of fabulous, light birthday cake. It was made with some kind of almond flour with just a touch of sugar. The place is immaculately clean and the music is soft enough so that you can converse and think. Their lunch buffet is is an outstanding buy. The establishment is very clean and neat. The buffet table has small quantities, checked frequently, and is replenished promptly, ensuring freshly prepared food. The waitstaff is very courteous and accommodating. I eat there every other week, and I am not a vegetarian. So far, no one I recommended it to has given me any negative feedback. I notice that most of their clientele consists of "Grey Heads", so, I assume these customers have been "around the block" and should be knowledgeable (I am 80 years young, and being single eat out often. I am ecstatic that this restaurant opened in this area. We need this! It's an all vegetarian restaurant, but you don't have to be vegetarian to eat here. The food is fresh and delicious. The smoothies and fresh juices are fantastic. The focus is on Indian food, but they are expanding their menu to include other types of food. They also offer cooking classes. My friends and I were able to participate in one and enjoyed it very much. The people that work here are kind and very informative as well. These guys have had some struggles with their marketing message and occasionally their service in their first few months and you'll see that in the reviews, but the food is some of the best and most fresh Indian I've ever had, including my time in NYC. They are also very involved in the community and I have been to 3-4 different meetings they have sponsored with food. The kinds of people you should support. Come for the food, and you will not be disappointed. As other reviewers have mentioned, they are still struggling a bit with their message and service, and even the hours are a little odd. (They open at precisely noon, so if you want a slightly early lunch, you are out of luck.) The food, however is never a miss. I was up in Beacon to check out DIA and hopped on the ferry to see what's up in Newburgh. Bliss Kitchen was a pleasant surprise. They are kind and hospitable and the all natural fare was not what I was expecting of a diner in Newburgh. Too bad I live so far, otherwise I would go here very frequently. I had the buffet with a mango lassi. I liked the cauliflower dish the most over here and they also had this "pointy gourd" dish which was out of this world! Like many amazing places, the secret is knowing when to go and what to order: lunch, and get the buffet. Some of the best, down-home Indian food I've ever had. Always different options, every single one has been off-the-charts delicious. Come here for the amazing food, not for the service (everyone is extremely nice and polite, but it's not a standard service experience - so just seat yourself, go grab your food at the buffet, and grab a drink from the fridge if you want to have the easiest dining experience.) Today we had lunch buffet at Nimai's Bliss Kitchen in Newburgh, NY. The service was great, the environment clean, the food tasted excellent, price was resonable ($10 lunch buffet) and it is gluten free and vegetarian. They make all food onsite and no stored and refrigerated/heated food. We have had food in many Indian restaurants in Hudson valley area and this is unique as the food is prepared/overseen by the owners with not over spiced or oily. Owner is rude and irrational, my cousin had IBS, a bowl problem that causes him to be unable to fully control his bowel movemet due to non cancerous tumors in his intestines, owner told us to leave and that we couldn't use his bathroom because we weren't paying customers even though the restaurant was emptier than a cemetery.
