Unbelievable. No hype in simply summarizing the restaurant as a terrific experience. There are no reservations, so you would be wise to have someone willing to wait out an opening while the rest of your group visit the nice local shops. The Turkish spices and skillfully prepared dishes, as well as the beautiful Turkish plates, bowls, teapots and cloths made for a unique and memorable experience. The owner is a gem of a human being. We loved her immediately and it appeared that the baby in our group immediately adopted her into our family. Lovely. Highly recommended.

The food was really good and the service was fairly quick, making for a pleasant dining experience. I also tried the Turkish coffee -- it was just as expected, rich and strong. Overall, a satisfying meal and worth a visit!

This was a delightful surprise! Seriously spectacular ambiance. Incredible food! Just authentic, homemade, warm and tasty. I would come every day if we didn't live in Denver. We had the Turkish coffee, sahlep, kafta platters, and the chicken sandwich. Great service. Go enjoy and be transported to your Turkish family's kitchen!

Great food, amazing service, and nice vibes. My Turkish boyfriend could only say "tastes like home" after every dish. I highly recommend the Turkish breakfast for two.

Five stars due to the delicious food and excellent service. The restaurant is beautifully decorated with artifacts from the homeland. My daughter and I ordered the Turkish Breakfast, halloumi cheese sandwich and Turkish Tea. I was so surprised by the amount of food we received for the breakfast..l.so many small delicious dishes. The halloumi was a delight, like a panini with olive tapenade. Absolutely wonderful! I lived the Turkish tea, which had a whiff of sweetness and was served in a pot over a warming flame. Words can't do this justice. You must go and try it for yourself.

Very lovely little Turkish place. Got a couple pastries and they were all delicious. Very friendly staff and such a cute vibe. The almond cookie was delicious!

This place is a GEM! The food was superb. I had never had traditional Turkish food but I love going to Beacon, we were looking for something new and I saw good reviews so it was a no brainer. I was with some friends and they were all pretty impressed and complimented me for choosing this place. We tried the breakfast for 2 and another dish that I feel sad I do not remember but it was eggs in some sauce and my friend basically absorbed it - that good. The whole spread was delicious and oh so worth the price! You can choose how you want your eggs, but we decided to follow the owners recommendation and although I am a picky eater with tomatoes on my eggs it was just flavorful. The portions, the presentation, the bread, the cheese, the tea... everything was 10/10. The place is small and cozy, groups could feel too close to each other so it's up to you. We chose a corner table so we felt comfortable. They also have bread to go, and items for sale. The service was excellent. Very much a homey vibe and family style.

Simit ( FROM TURKEY) and menemen, with turkish coffee. Yummm

I felt right at home here. Everything made with so much care. Every dish/ingredient and smile was authentic. I loved the chef and all the turkish staples she produces in her kitchen. Even better that it is sll done in front of you! Cant wait to come back

Update: We went back almost immediately because we couldn't stop talking about the first meal, and…read moresomehow it was every bit as amazing. The lamb shank was absurdly tender, the baba ganoush was smoky and rich, and yes, the ezme, beets, and pita remain mandatory ordering. But what really sets this place apart is the heart behind it. On a hard night for our family, a simple unexpected dessert brought genuine comfort and a smile when we needed it most. They don't just feed your stomach here. They feed your soul. I would go to war for this restaurant. An absolute gem, genuinely some of the best food I've had in the area!! I don't write glowing reviews lightly, but this place absolutely earned one. From the moment the food hit the table, it was obvious this was something special. Every single thing we ordered, from the mezze sampler to the drinks to dessert, felt like the best version of itself it could possibly be. Not one weak note. Even the pita bread was memorable. Warm, soft, fresh, lightly charred, and worthy of praise in a meal FULL of standout dishes. The mezze sampler was EXTRAORDINARY. The beet and goat cheese was one of those bites that makes you stop mid-conversation. The goat cheese was fresh, creamy, rich, and perfectly balanced by roasted beets that were unbelievably sweet and luscious. Honestly, they were almost candy-like. I don't know what they did to prepare them, but they were incredible. The spicy vegetable dip, Esme, was bright, vibrant, and bursting with flavor. Fresh, zippy, and balanced with just enough heat. The eggplant dip was equally impressive, with a silky texture, subtle tartness, mellow tomato notes, and that gentle pleasant bitterness that makes eggplant so satisfying when it's done well. The hummus was ridiculously creamy and rich with tahini, giving it a deep nutty flavor that made it one of the best hummus dishes I've personally had. We also ordered the Turkish manti, and they were fantastic. Little handmade parcels topped with cool yogurt and warm spiced oil that brought everything together beautifully. We didn't even manage to take a picture because by that point we were so completely absorbed in the meal that all manners disappeared and we just devoured them immediately. No photo. No pause. Just instinct. That might be the strongest endorsement I can give. The mint lemonade was perfect for a warm day. Bright, refreshing, tart, cooling, and mint-forward without being overly sweet. It tasted clean, balanced, and incredibly refreshing. Dessert completely sealed the deal. The Turkish revani was unbelievably soft, soaked through with milk, and had that luscious almost tres leches quality that makes every bite melt away. The fresh berries and raspberry sauce gave it just enough brightness and acidity to balance the sweetness beautifully. I had a cup of black tea with it, and the combination of cake, berries, and tea was one of those simple little moments that feels kind of magical. The restaurant itself is beautiful. Tasteful decor, warm atmosphere, and thoughtful design that feels welcoming without trying too hard. The service was friendly, attentive, and genuine. More than anything, the whole place feels like a labor of love. What blows my mind most is that this restaurant has apparently been here for over two years, and we somehow only just discovered it. We were legitimately mad at ourselves thinking about how many meals we could have had here already. Now we're just trying to make up for lost time!! For roughly $80 for two before tip, the value was outstanding. At first glance, the menu might look a little upscale, but once the food arrives, it makes perfect sense. The quality more than justifies the price. I've had good Mediterranean food before. This is operating on a completely different level. Without question, this is some of the best Mediterranean food I've had anywhere in the area, and I can't wait to go back.

The stores next…read moreto them are either empty or closed and the location, it's next to the Home depot, that when you park in front of the place, you feel like you're the only one eating there.. not a good first impression for a good restaurant. We went for dinner at 6 pm on a Saturday, we thought we were the only ones there, again because of the empty parking lot. There were a few people already seated. We didn't have any reservations, and I thought - Why would we? We started with the appetizers, babaganoush and calamari. Both were good. My wife and I had the mixed platter for two. All the meats were tasty, seasoned well and weren't dry. For dessert, I tried the affogato, espresso over ice cream and that hit the spot. Overall, we were impressed. People did start coming in after 6 so it's best to reserve a table especially if you have more than 4 in your party. The don't serve liquor so it's BYOB!! For some, that might be the important thing to note .

The waitress initially seemed friendly and came to take our drinks orders. I mentioned to her we are also ready to order food. She put on a stern face and started wagging her fingers in front of of my face and said " that is not how we do it here, you ordered drink first and I'll come back later to take your food orders. There are 7 people ahead of you and the chef has to cook for them first". I was stunned and shocked to hear such mean response! If I was alone, I'd march out of the restaurant immediately but my family was there so I stayed and tried to keep my cool. Every process took sooooo long from ordering drinks, drinks came, ordering food, food came then another big disappointed moment- the hyped up fish and chips with greasy battered, mushy fish and filled with ammonia scent as in spoiled fish. Overall, it was a very bad experience. On a good note, we can now say- never again The Tulip and Rose.

Its English name comes from a Greek legend: Zeus had an affair with a beautiful woman named Io. When Hera, his wife, discovered his infidelity, she turned Io into a cow and created a horsefly to sting her on the rump. Io jumped clear across the strait. Thus, "bous" = "cow" and "poros" = "crossing place": Bosphorus = "crossing place of the cow." Located off of busy Franklin Avenue in Nutley, my partner, our friends, and I have decided on our dinner at this family-owned-and-run BYOB establishment, which has been open since 1995. A reservation was made for a party of 4 by calling their restaurant. Upon arrival after three years, we were welcomed by Nora, the owner, and made our way to a table by the piano inside, evoking a cozy, thoughtfully designed, upscale vibe with music playing softly. Their menu features Turkish and Mediterranean cuisine. For starters, we decided on the Puffed Rill Pastry and Grape Leaves. Our main meal consisted of all lamb dishes (Lamb Shish Kebab, Beyti Kebab, Lamb Chops, and Lamb Sauté). Our food was fresh, well seasoned, and cooked to perfection, accompanied by a beautifully presented dish. Everything was authentically made with love here. Wish we could have stayed for dessert, as they looked amazing, but some of us were in a rush. It's definitely on the higher end cost but worth the taste. Our visit ended with a hug and a piece of candy.

So I jumped on Yelp and this was the closest with decent reviews. They have a large parking lot and plenty of spots. The place looks like the old time diners with the stainless steel siding and large windows with booths in them. When you enter it also looks like the old school diners with the homemade dessert display. There also have a counter service area and the old school neon signs and wood paneling everywhere. The staff was friendly and they greeted us instantly and seated us immediately. They had a large menu with a ton of options. They had some specials too and the desserts in the case looked amazing. So I ordered the corner hash with eggs. It was served with toast and homesites. It was really Good. The home fries were super crispy and seasoned well. The eggs were cooked well and the toast was done perfectly. My son has a Belgian waffle with bananas and whip cream he also had an order of bacon. I didn't try it but he said it was super good and he ate the whole thing. The waitress was very nice and attentive and had everything we needed and never missed a beat. They also had a busser that was clearing the dishes and cups and sweeping and wiping chairs the entire time. I love when a restaurant is clean and takes the time to make sure they are keeping up with it all. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone and when or if we go back we will revisit.

Aside from never offering what they did have available and instead saying "We don't have that" for about half the menu, she seemed very annoyed to be taking our order period. Never again, I rather starve than ever come back here.
