Then I saw the Chef special board and was like what is going on in here? The intrigue of the Miami wings and the tile fish taco special was too much for this foodie to pass up. I got a table within a minute or two and sat down on the beautiful dock side on a gorgeous day. We enjoyed all kinds of aerial acrobatics, two baby dolphins cruising around, but the real star was the food. I had a mahi-mahi Caribbean bowl that was simply outrageously flavored, it was definitely on the sweeter side, but I have no complaints. The Miami wings were a knockout, even though they were an entrée we had them as an appetizer. It was the perfect amount for two to share. I can only say that everything else on the menu at our table had fresh fish and was awesome. I definitely recommend this place for the vibe, which is sort of upscale beachy, and the best coastal dining menu without the prices of high rent locations in the city limits. This was a quieter location, on the water, great service, and I will admit that I kind of fell in love. Can't wait to go back to this foodie heaven! Keep changing it up chef!

Unfortunately a lot of the execution fell a bit flat, especially after both the menu and it's prices had set our expectations otherwise. The amuse bouche was definitely a palate awakener.. a mix of olive tapenade and vinegary mustard. It wasn't for us, but if the goal was to wake up our mouths, it worked. Then hubs had the scallop appetizer with bacon maple marmalade. He thought it was too sweet, I didn't mind it. Scallops were cooked well. I had the mussels from Brussels, a bit clumsy to eat as the mussels were in their shells and the thin Brussel leaves were scattered within/around, all on a bed of pureed potatoes. But a nice flavor and a good portion size. Then i moved on to the beet salad, which was my least favorite. A dish I enjoy at a lot of restaurants, all with different plating/approaches, this one was clunky, the beets were cut thicker than usual, plated with large proportion dwarfing the citrus and the cheese was presented in medium size encrusted balls. It lacked elegance or delicateness, the flavors didn't really meld as they should. Hubs and I then moved to the main course. I had the crispy gnocci app as my main, which was fine, nothing special and hubs had the catch #2 a tile fish that was just ok. We finished our drinks, opted for dessert elsewhere. They've been around a long time, so I'm sure we will try again in another couple years.

Each course was presented beautifully and cooked to perfection, full of rich flavor and balance. The attention to detail, from the trio of spreads and freshly baked bread to the soups and entrées, felt thoughtful and refined. You can tell the chefs take real pride in every plate they send out. Our server Mark was wonderful -- attentive, kind, and professional, adding to an already flawless evening. Yes, it comes with a pretty penny, but for a special event, an anniversary, or a date night meant to impress, The Chef's Table is absolutely worth it. It's a dining experience -- not just a meal -- and one I'll remember for a long time.

A Masterclass in Waterfront Brunch…read more I was looking for a great brunch spot on the water, and The Brevardian more than delivered. As someone who grew up on the water and close to New Orleans, I have a very high standard for seafood. This kitchen doesn't just meet the bar; they raise it. The Food House Smoked Fish Dip: This was a refreshing departure from the traditional "creamy mushy" dips. It was full of bright flavor and, most importantly, didn't drown the fish in mayo. Using the house-made kettle chips as a base was a great touch. Crab Cake Benedict: This dish was understated but incredible. The crab cakes were nearly all crab with very little filler--a rare find. I have to give a huge "Bravo" to the kitchen for not drowning the eggs in sauce; the remoulade was perfectly balanced and, honestly, better than my mother's! (Don't tell her!) Caramel Pecan Cheesecake: We finished with this for dessert. It was decadent, rich, and definitely a shareable portion. The Drinks My mother enjoyed the house Chardonnay, and I opted for their signature cocktail, "The Brevardian." It was impressively smooth and balanced. You didn't get a sharp hit of bitterness from the bourbon or an overbearing sweetness from the fruit; the flavors just meshed perfectly. The Verdict: Between the view of the Indian River and the "scratch-made" quality of every bite, this is easily one of the best spots in the area. If you value "Contemporary Old Florida" cuisine where the ingredients are the star, this is a must-visit. Shout out to our server Neil who was exceptional as well!

The back of the house was likely overworked. It took a LONG time for us and those at other tables to get our food, yet when our meals finally arrived, they were hot and delicious. We got there and definitely a beach bar/restaurant vibe. The place is quite small and you're eating outdoors on picnic tables. Atmosphere is really nice but the cleanliness is sub par. Let me start with the positives. 1) The waitress provided great service and was very patient with us on the ordering. 2) Food: the fish and chips was good. Tasty, Not greasy and crispy. The shrimp po boy is cooked nicely and taste is good. The highlight are the waffle fries and sweet potatoes tots. 3) the food cooked and served in a timely manner. Now the negatives. 1) the steak skewers. Very tough and bland. 2) the seafood bisque. It wasn't a bisque and very watery. I think it was microwaved and wasn't cooked fresh. 3) sweet ice tea. I can tell it was brewed but wasn't made that day and wasn't sweet. 4) You get 1 small tartar sauce. If you want additional sauces, it's $1 extra (each). Why? You get 3 large pieces of fish in an order of fish and chips but a small amount of tartar sauce which covers one piece. 5) $$$ I like supporting local mom and pop type of restaurant but the prices are a bit on the expensive side. My family goes to the AFB commissary on a daily basis. We may comeback for the fish and chips but will bring our own tartar sauce.
