Great service and good food! The ambiance is amazing and very pleasant. Highly recommend coming for light dim sum.

I love the small plates that are reasonably priced. Ha Gow and Lo Mai Gai were spot on Dim Sum and delicious. Bubble pancake was aka puri chat with decent curry sauce. Eat fast, it gets cool quickly. Saved a drive to East Fall Church. Mostly Asian clientele which is a good sign of authentic Chinese food. read more

Just got back from NiHao. In a word: disappointment. Had all the best dishes from the other restaurants, half sized portions etc. tons to order from the menu Sadly everything was slightly greasy and missing attention to detail. Soup dumplings were same as Chang Chang but came broken which kind of defeats the purpose. Salt and pepper shrimp were salt bombs and inedible. Was packed due to positive review in today's Washington post. Service was sloppy / inattentive. Chang Chang is still the place. read more

Solid spot. We tried a variety of cocktails and small plates, including the Crazy Rich Asian and 2046 cocktails, as well as the shredded beef (with green peppers), the duck spring rolls, the bubble pancake, the stone pot tofu fish, the mapo tofu, and the dry-fried green beans. This was a tough week for me eating at home, so everything at NiHao was more interesting, spicier, and perfectly cooked than anything I had at home. That made everything taste a lot better than it might have otherwise been, but I have a feeling this would have still been great. It was weird, space-wise; the restaurant is definitely no frills, doesn't create much in the way of atmosphere, and is in a location that doesn't cater to much other action besides a nearby movie theater. That meant the space was basically dead by 8:30 PM, and when 9:30 PM came around, we were the last folks inside as the spot shut down. (Lots of restaurants close early nowadays, but it feels semi-apocalyptic every time I see it!) Will definitely come back the next time we are in DC! read more

Having been to several of the Peter Chang restaurants, I'm pretty familiar with his style and most of the dishes. When I got invited by friends to check this place out, I didn't know it was Peter Chang's until I looked at the menu. This place is slightly different than some of the others in that they offer 'tapas' style, so you can try more dishes since they are smaller and cheaper. Most Chinese meals are eaten family-style, and most Americans don't even get the concept, so 'tapas' style may help many to understand. Here you can easily order 2 dishes per person and get a wide variety of meats, veggies, appetizers, etc. There's actually an art to ordering Chinese dishes, as you want to stay away from ordering multiple dishes with the same flavor profile and varying the proteins, veggies, carbs, so you have a well rounded meal. It's a little tougher when many of the dishes here feature heat and Szechuan peppercorns. I love spicy food and try many Szechuan places, so this will always be up my alley. Here we ordered the dry fried fish, red braised pork belly, string beans, mapo tofu, cumin beef, and iron pot rice. That last dish was kinda funny, b/c it's just fried rice in a heavy iron bowl. Honestly, nothing really special about it, but it did have great wok hey (smoky wok flavor); sadly it was also kinda damp which is a big letdown. The fish and string beans were definitely highlights of the meal; both very well prepared. Pork belly was just OK; I've had way better in many Cantonese places. Decent flavor, but clearly geared towards American palette. Mapo was good, though a little too salty; great flavor and pretty authentic version. Cumin beef had good flavor, but the onions were pretty sour. Most red onions turn kinda rancid after cutting and letting them sit for a while. I know they probably prep hundreds of pounds of onions, but it really put a damper on this dish; just inedible. Service was good and quick, even on a busy weekend night. read more

Dumplings and especially Peter's Chili Wontons are pretty good! Also good were DanDan noodles. The scallion bubble pancake looks cool but really has no flavor at all (not scallion or anything), and is just a little greasy. The music is SOO LOUD. Really not pleasant, and probably won't be back because of that. Maybe sit outside. read more

I have tried other Peter Chang's restaurants. Nihao in Crystal City is my favorite. The dishes are served tapas style with smaller portions, which allow guests to sample more varieties. The menu includes some of Peter Chang's popular dishes, such as the scallion bubble pancake. We enjoyed all the dishes that we ordered. The Sichuan-style beef was tender, and the tofu salad was flavorful. The wait staff was very friendly. Overall, we had a great dining experience. read more

Food was amazing, service was top notch! Reminded me of the sichuan dishes I tried in China

Stir fry beef how fun was fireeee. Hot and sour soup was best I've ever had. Cocktails are great

Food was surprising good and a good value especially for Arlington where most restaurants are overpriced and food quality not so great. Would recommend and hopefully they will work out any kinks as they mature. Some really amazing dishes with a few duds. The offal salad was great the wood ear mushroom salad a definite winner. The flavor and freshness of cucumber salad was good but alas overpowered with salt. The balloon scallion pancake was a complete fail with an almost leather like texture and no scallion to be seen or tasted. Everything was too salty. Service was ok but spotty as to be expected in any restaurants first week. I am sure they will fix this quickly. The worst part of our experience though was the lighting. This should be fixed asap. The open bulbs on the wall glare into your eyes from every angle and the central pendant light were spotlight bright to the point of painful. Get some dimmers! read more

Food is very delicious , service is great Th e amount of dish is not bad , recommend chicken soup.

I heard about a new place in Crystal City and wanted to try it, I should have took my money elsewhere. Atmosphere was great, however the bugs (flies and gnats) were flying all over the restaurant and food. Servers and manger seemed to careless about it. Drinks were amazing (fallen angel) was drink of choice. The food was god awful - super salty, oily, and took a while. We had to ask the server for some food that was missing multiple times and some of the dishes were so salty, we had the server take them away. Extremely disappointed and will never go again. read more

The food was good, a bit spicy and tongue-numbing. The serving speed was fast though in weird order, we got our entry prior to the appetizer. read more

I went here while visiting VA! The food and service were very good! The ambiance was so cute! I would definitely visit again.

We were looking for a place near DCA airport. The Yelp reviews were good so we gave this a try. Always a good sign when the restaurant starts filling up at 5:30pm on Monday. Generous portions . Good flavors. Nathan was a good server. read more

We were there for dinner, Cabbage is very very salty, hardly to eat, we told the girl, she didn't say anything but give us a unhappy face, service from this girl is bad , other employees is nice, read more

The service and food were amazing!! Neela was our server and we really appreciated the help in deciding what to eat. My husband can't have dairy and her knowledge of the menu helped us so much. The food was soooo good. Highly recommend and make sure to bring people and share!! read more

I am not sure what level of intelligence is required for a human being to update their hours appropriately on yelp, whatever that level is there is not a single person that works for this company that has that level of intelligence. They close at 9p. Great food though, when you can get it. read more

Great service. Cozy and welcoming atmosphere. Fantastic food! The lo mein was so good! We also had the salt and pepper shrimp, pot stickers and wontons. Next time we're in DC we WILL be back! read more

This little nugget was quite nice great area as well. The drink I chose was a homerun "rich Asian". the food was on point as well. although I haven't gone through a large portion of the menu what I have gotten so far does the job everything. Must haves "duck rolls, Dry Fried eggplant, dry fried fish, Lo mien, pork belly". Not so good dan dan noodles. If you're in-crystal city stop in and have drink while you comb through the menu. read more

My husband and I stumbled across this place when we saw a sign on the sidewalk saying it was a new concept by Peter Chang. We love Peter Chang's so we decided to stop in. Everything we had was absolutely delicious with the perfect balance of spicy and umami flavors. We loved the tapas concept since it allowed us to try a wider variety of dishes. Our server was very kind and helpful as well so I really can't say enough nice things. We are so glad to have Ni Hao in the neighborhood and will absolutely be back! read more

Outstanding food and service. We loved the dry chilli shrimp, dry fried fish, lo mein, iron pot shrimp fried rice, pork dumplings (the sauce is BOMB) green beans, and the three pepper beef. We also ordered the kung pao chicken , but did not like the texture of the chicken...wouldn't recommend that dish. However everything else was a 10/10 ! Cannot wait to go back. And not to mention the food was not pricey. read more

It's pretty authentic and creative with couple of dishes, the pickles were delicious and fresh, but the beef dish was a bit salty..

Ordered delivery and I have to say I was very disappointed. I don't know who at let this go out the kitchen and thought it looked ok. Ordered Mongolian Chicken and it was nothing but onions and still bland. I get it green onions are expensive but this dish had 2 pieces of green onion in it and maybe 1/4 of a chicken breast. Still bland. For $23 this was an absolute waste. read more

Visiting Crystal City where my parents live. We were so excited about a Chinese place opening up as there are no really good spots around here. I ordered MaPo Tofu. It's was unfortunately some sort of ghost pepper level of spice that it was practically inedible. We even tried to bring the spice down with vinegar and more tofu. It was impossible. We are Asian and even my brother who is a spice connoisseur- couldn't handle it. My suggestion is to bring the spice down five notches! We'd love to love your place. read more

Lovely tapas style lunch! Delicious flavors. The green beans and soup dumplings are a must

Service was great, ordered online and the food was still hot upon pick up. Steam pork dumplings was good, very standard pork dumplings with good flavor. I liked the sauce although it was very salty. Ordered the chili wontons and the first bite was great, the wontons are good but the spicy sauce was too numbing and nullified the flavor of the over all wonton. It was over powering the wonton and the next few bites were bad. I love szechuan flavor and eat it often at other places but the chili wontons had a flat numbing sensation that wasn't balanced at all. The atmosphere is pretty. read more

Very fast service! I recommend making a reservation on any nights it'll be busy (th,fri, weekends). Portions are shareable so order a few plates and share with friends- we had the best lo mein ever. I had vegetable and beef lo mein and the mushroom spring roll! Very fun atmosphere and cute cocktails! 11/10 recommend. read more

Outstanding food, friendly service, and a surprise craft cocktail menu! The portion sizes are respectable, and you could probably eat your fill with 1.5 dishes per diner. If (like me) you were worried that "Chinese tapas" meant you'd be ordering dozens of overpriced miniature plates, I can happily say such is not the case. The dishes taste great - well-executed honey walnut shrimp like I'd expect from a good American Chinese restaurant, and authentic sweet and sour chicken that sent me right back to Beijing. That would be enough, but they also have a cocktail menu that serves up impressive, well-balanced cocktails. A Chinese Odyssey is an artfully balanced Luzhou baijiu cocktail, and for the same price that many places will charge for you for butchering an Old Fashioned. read more

Awesome foods! I liked that the menu came with many small plates to share. Service was also excellent.

Great selection of wonderful food. The staff is very friendly and helpful. An enjoyable meal. Looking forward to our next visit.

The host and waiter were very nice. He explained the dishes and helped me decide. The food was delicious. Very fast, hot service. The chow fun had a great smokey flavor but was a little short on beef. Otherwise, would recommend. read more

After picking up my daughter from the airport, we came to Nihao for an early lunch. We ordered five things and they all came out very quickly, fresh and hot. Amazing all around. Three pepper beef and combo iron fried rice were our favorites. The fried pork dumplings were also amazing.

I'm very impressed with this fairly new restaurant in CC. The food and service are great, and the prices are very reasonable. The dumplings are great and I love the Dan Dan noodles, but be warned, they are spicy! Ambiance is very nice - upscale casual. Great addition to the neighborhood. read more

I recently visited Nihao with my husband. Our server, Nathan, was incredibly pleasant and professional. My husband has many allergies, and Nathan helped us navigate the menu to ensure his safety. Nathan offered fantastic drink recommendations that paired well with our meals, and when the food did come out everything was amazing. The ambiance of the place is amazing, trendy with a traditional feel that truly made our experience. My husband has already planned our next date here, and we hope to see Nathan as our server again! read more
