Saigon Kitchen is a great new addition to the SW Waterfront! They had only been open for about four weeks when we visited, and we really enjoyed our experience. We met Tommy and tried a little bit of everything from the menu. For drinks, we had the Basil Breeze, Tamarind Firecracker, and Golden Fizz--all refreshing zero-proof options. Our food included: -Rocket Shrimp -SK Chicken Skewers -- marinated lemongrass chicken skewers -Vietnamese Pickled Cucumber / Dưa Leo Đồ Chua -Southern Style Crispy Quails / Chim Cút Chiên Bơ -Oxtail / Short Rib Pho -- slow-simmered aromatic broth with rice noodles -Stir-Fried Crispy Noodles / Mì Xào Dòn -- crispy yellow egg noodles with vegetables -Lemongrass Curry Chicken -- lemongrass-marinated chicken with potatoes and carrots There was a nice variety across the menu, and it was fun getting to try so many different dishes during our first visit. They also have some really good weekday lunch specials Monday through Friday from 11AM-2PM. You can get a cup of pho, two spring rolls, and a soda for $18.95, or a grilled chicken rice dish with a cup of pho broth and a soda for $19.95. A few dishes we were hoping to order were already sold out, including the Tender Vietnamese Beef Carpaccio, Shaken Filet Mignon, and Floating Market Whole Fish. Rather than being disappointed, it just gave us another reason to come back! Definitely looking forward to our next visit and seeing what else Saigon Kitchen has in store as they settle into the neighborhood.

Get your mocktails here! They are waiting for a liquor license...October is the anticipated timeframe. great menu options, nice environment. I think they need to bring in karaoke while they dont have an alcohol license. Nice dining area, plant of space, clean and friendly staff.

This Vietnamese restaurant recently opened by the Waterfront metro stop and my friend wanted to try it so we stopped in for an early dinner. Service was excellent and everyone there took good care of us, seating us at a table by the window. It really is a lovely space with lots of windows, a high ceiling, and a very welcoming bar. Unfortunately, they do not have a liquor license so the bar was empty. We ordered yummy mocktails, though, and I didn't miss the alcohol! Mine was cucumber and lychee and my friend's had basil. Very refreshing. I wanted noodles so I got the vermicelli with marinated chicken. It was a nice sized bowl, filled with noodles, quite a bit of chicken, and a salad. I was given a little cup of a clear sauce and was told to pour it over everything and then mix it up. Other than that, there was no sauce, so the salad and noodles were pretty dry and flavorless. My friend wasn't using a red, sweet sauce that came either her Rocket Shrimp, so I put that on my noodles and that helped a lot. The chicken was tender and delicious, though. My dish also came with a spring roll that was outstanding. My friend loved the shrimp and the charred flank steak salad, although she asked for the dressing on the side but the salad had dressing. I think once they work out some kinks and get a liquor license, this place will be super hot!

I visited Saigon today for lunch with my team. We arrived at 12pm to a mostly empty restaurant. The place is well decorated with a plenty of table seating and a bar area,'it's well decorated and gets great sun light. The menu is expansive and they offer a lunch special. We ordered a few spring rolls as appetizers and everyone ordered the lunch special. The service was really slow with the server returning several times to "double check" because he didn't write anything down. The food came out and unfortunately the white rice that Came with the lunch special was really dry. The veggie spring rolls were really good, I didn't try the chicken but my colleagues said there wasn't much chicken in them. The water they gave us had a weird odor and smell so we had to order a bottle of water. While I liked ambiance of the restaurant I'm not sure if I would return.

I was pulling up Yelp to see what bar we wanted to go after and saw this on the list. We were initially going to go to the karaoke bar next door but when we walked inside, it was wayyyy too loud and obnoxious so we were like perfect let's go across the street! We walk into the ramen spot and ask where the speakeasy is and the guy led us to the back and showed us to some stairs to go down. Seriously, how COOL is this place??? The neon lights were so fun! We walked into the bar and immediately loved it! Good amount of bar seating plus some comfy couches and whatnot. There was music but it wasn't too obnoxious, we were still able to have conversations - it was surprisingly chill and exactly what we were looking for. Chatted to the bartender who made some fancy shots for us, had a few drinks. It was not busy at all on a Sat night which was nice. It is very dark inside even with the neon lights so it does make it hard to read the menus (had to use flashlights on our phone). But super fun spot, fun drinks, not too expensive, and a neat and chill experience! It was an excellent find for us for sure!

The bar staff has always been knowledgeable on providing recommendations. For instance, they were the first place I tried the Old Forrester Birthday Bourbon. While it's not something I get frequently, since then I treat myself to it every full moon. They have selections from around the world and I have sent many friends here and they have been impressed. Also while their menu seems small-please know everything they offer that they do very well. The burger is delicious, the fries, the mac and cheese and wings are some of my favorite items. The bartender was friendly and helpful, I'm not a whisky girl so I went with wine. My partner tried a whiskey that was recommended and then a whiskey based cocktail that were both really good. For food we tried the fat fries they were delicious, hot fresh and plentiful! My partner also ordered the chicken sliders, 3 fried chicken (thighs I believe) on biscuits with a drizzle of honey. The sliders were a bit dry for my liking and lacked any flavor/seasoning. Chill vibes and good service I would definitely return!

Within minutes the place was packed, so although we were able to get a seat I'd still recommend making a reservation since the space fills up quickly. Initially I didn't realize this was a gin-focused bar, but now I'm hooked ( I told the bartenders about my usual preferences and they were able to make great recommendations). The drinks were incredibly well crafted and full of unique flavor. I started with one of their signature drinks but then asked for a bartender's choice based on what I typically enjoy and they absolutely nailed it. The space has a stylish speakeasy vibe that feels both elevated and inviting. You ring a bell to be let in, which makes the whole experience feel a little more special. Inside, it's moody and romantic with plush seating, gorgeous lighting, and a warm ambiance that's perfect for date night or just catching up with friends. Whether you're a gin enthusiast or just looking for a cool spot to grab a drink in DC, this place is absolutely worth checking out. I'm already planning my next visit.
