I visited Nigel's Restaurant in Long Beach expecting a nice experience, but unfortunately had a really disappointing situation. While dining, I used the restroom and when I stepped up to the sink to wash my hands, I stepped onto a rug that was completely wet and dirty. There was no warning, no sign, and it clearly hadn't been maintained. As a result, my white pants were stained with dirty water and essentially ruined. This isn't just about inconvenience--it's about basic safety and cleanliness. A wet, unsecured rug in a restroom is a hazard and should never be left like that for customers to deal with. I brought it to their attention because situations like this should be taken seriously. I hope the restaurant improves how they maintain their facilities so this doesn't happen to someone else. We had such an amazing time at Nigel's today, absolutely no disappointment! It's rare to find a chic restaurant that not only looks great but also delivers on food, drinks, and service, and this place nailed it. The food was delicious (that hamburger was cooked to perfection!), the salad was fresh and flavorful, and the drinks were on point. The servers were wonderful, especially Kae, and even the owner came by to personally welcome us, which made it extra special. We didn't get to enjoy the Duffy boat this time, but we'll definitely be back for that! This place is soooo over rated i wanted to love it , its so cute and great ambiance but omg. The service and the food are so mid. We had a reservation at 1:15 it still took them 20 minutes to sit us. They didnt offer us any water , i had to ask for it. And when i did they took about another 20 mins to bring it to us saying they didnt have any glassware... what! The food portion was okay , but the flavor was mid. I got the lobster benedict , the best part of it was the hollandaise sauce over it and it was very little of it. Also when they took our order the guy who was taking it was still chewing his own food . The cocktails we ordered also took about 15-20 mins to come out. Idk what was going on but i was hoping great things and it fell short . My husband surprised me with a reservation here last night after I had been sending him stories via Instagram. When we arrived, we checked in at the host check-in table and wanted to get some pictures before our table was ready. Since they do have some photo ops near the entrance. I believe the owner's kids or guest were there and they were just running wild, screaming etc. We had to ask twice if they could kindly move so we could get some pictures since they were just running wild playing. Kids ignored us and it took one of the adults to tell them to move. He reserved us for a floating booth unfortunately, when we arrived, we were told the booths would only be for appetizers and not the full service menu. Thankfully, Brianna, one of the hostesses that was there was able to save the evening by putting us in a nice little corner table that gave us almost a little private VIP area . The bartenders and ordering drinks at the bar was amazing. They were great and no wait time. However, when we were sat at our table, things definitely changed Our drinks took an extremely long time to come out over 10-15min each and each time we had to wave our server down to ask him to follow up or go get from the bar. I ordered the classic fillet and my husband ordered the Mariners New York steak. I asked for mine to be well done and when it came out, it was still bloodied and look like it was only made medium. Not to my liking - we had to wait another 10minutes for our server to come and take my meal back to the kitchen. He could tell our mood was shifting and promised to get us a manager WHO NEVER EVEN BOTHERED TO COME TO OUR TABLE. The server gave us dessert options and after we ordered he came back 5 minutes later, informing us that he was actually completely out of crème brûlée, and we only had the poundcake with vanilla ice cream available. I understand that this place is fairly new and it just opened and it's a height for a lot of people, but I definitely think that a lot of things still need to be worked out the most importantly, of course being customer service and at least getting the manager to come in and check in on your table to see exactly what all went wrong I'm supposed to be bringing two groups one in September and one in November and I'm highly contemplating it at this point after last night's experience Although I will say cocktails were good food was great AFTER they fixed my meal and the ambience was nice as well as as the photo ops available minus the running a mock children! read more

Wonderful experience! Nigel's is a beautiful, Fun, Elevated experience! The space itself is very well appointed and aesthetically pleasing! The staff is friendly , helpful and well dressed! Oh! And the drinks!! served beautifully presented in fabulous glassware. They have lots of fun champagne cocktails, as well as mixed drinks, and even mocktails- let me say fantastic non- alcoholic drinks! We were served a nice charcuterie board, which is perfect to share with a friend. I have to say I was very impressed with everything- but the coffee presentation was so fabulous! French press- darling pink carafe and matching coffee mug and plate with accoutrements This is an elevated experience! Worth the price. Perfect for girls nights, celebrations, sexy date nights. Ambiance and decoration were beautiful and is definitely social media worthy. However, that's were the positives end. I made a reservation for a floating booth and my reservation was confirmed. Upon arriving and checking in, we were led to and given the option of two separate regular seats. When I inquired and informed the host that I reserved a floating booth, she informed me that they are currently not seating anyone in those booths due to them not being available yet and they didn't have the license yet (which I totally understand). I was further informed that they reached out to many of the guests beforehand. I was never notified. I did not have any calls from them and even checked my email conformations. The confirmations all still said floating booth. This is unacceptable. This was disappointing as we drove from Orange County to dine here and the only reason we came was for the floating booth experience. We decided to leave after this. read more

I am coming on here to truly shed light on what my friends and I experienced at this establishment 9.7.25 First off, let me say that this is a beautiful establishment! The decor, esthetics, and the food were on point. However. From the time we arrived for our reservation, things had already seemed a bit off. Rightfully so, there was a situation with open table where reservations were double booked. Sure, things happen. But the way it was handled was truly poor service at its finest. I hate to pull the race card, but it definitely felt like we were treated less than. It was a very warm day and the restaurant is an open restaurant which means there's no AC and no fans, ok fine it's not the worst thing. But when you seat someone at a table facing the sun with NO shades as all the other tables had, then that's where the problem comes in. But I still tried to see the beauty in it all. Here's where the experience got tricky. With the sun beaming in our faces, a few of my friends decided to go and order their food at the bar so they could be a little more comfortable to at least be able to enjoy the food. As they were sitting at the bar, a wood beam fell from the ceiling of the establishment and hit one of my friends on top of the head, another on the shoulder. What happened next is where the experience went for bad, to WORSE. Someone from the establishment hurry up and removed the beam once it had fallen and hit the patron. Ok, you didn't want the extra attention, fine. My friend began to vomit profusely after, which means what? First sign of a concussion. So the paramedic was called. After the paramedic was called, I assume he was maybe a manager, walked up to the group and asked if they could walk her to the front of the establishment so the paramedic could get through due to the aisles being narrow. Now there are SO many things wrong with this. First off, if that is the case, being that I work very close with government and city officials (fire department to be exact), that right there my friend is a coding problem. Nevertheless, that is what EMT's do, they know how to maneuver in the most not so great situations so what would make this different. Not to mention, when a person is injured, you NEVER move them under NO circumstances. Tensions and emotions were definitely high on both parts. Grant it, no one would want this to happen, establishments nor patrons. But as a business owner AND management, there are situations that you should know how to handle no matter wthe situation is. THE LACK OF EMPATHY WAS TRULY BEYOND ME! When the bill came, the general manager which does not work well under pressure, told the server that only the two individuals who were hurt will be comped for their food lol! Here's the thing, we aren't even looking for anything free!!!! But being that this was a terrible experience, you should want to be accommodating based off the fact this happened and have some type of compassion. A few of us even stayed back after the rest of the party had went to the hospital. We ordered more food and drinks, and truly enjoyed ourselves AND PAID OUR BILL! Again, I am not coming on this platform to bash this establishment. I am however, coming to share our experience. read more

The place is super cute the staff were nice but idk if it's because there isn't no ac (which that's the only downside it was super hot) but the manager isn't the nicest. But I'll give it to him. It was really hot and he was wearing a long sleeve and running around doing interviews. Before going I had a question if it was necessary to make a reservation or if we can just walk in since it was only three of us. I called several times the phone number that's on Google and no answer. After college several days and several times I got over it and didn't wanna go no more since I write a review that the guest tried going without a reservation and wasn't let in. But my friend encouraged me to go and see if we would get let in. Which we did and we were told that the phone number is the wrong number that it's the wife's phone number. The drinks are super cute totally a photo moment with them. The food was good it isn't wow it's amazing. We got the asparagus fries they were really good. Got the calamari. I wish the calamari would've been fried or crispy calamari, it was too soggy. It was drenched in the sweet-and-sour sauce. That made the breaded come off of the calamari. Would be nice if the calamari was fried and a drizzle of the sweet-and-sour on top or the sweet-and-sour on the side. The tuna tartare was yummy after adding salt. The charcuterie board was good too. My friend said she really liked the Bay Shore fried chicken sandwich and I got the chicken piccata perfection. I would go back but after the sun starts to settle down. Nigel's We visited Nigel's today and had such a fun time--it's more than just a restaurant! The pink, green, and gold theme creates such a lively, stylish atmosphere, and the food and drinks were fantastic. We started with the Viva Petit Trio Plate and liked it so much we each ordered the same dish. The cocktails were also great--especially the Sassy & Spiced and Leah's Spritz. One of the highlights was the complimentary Duffy ride around the bay, such a unique and memorable touch. While waiting, we enjoyed relaxing in the cabana area and even opened a bottle of champagne to celebrate the afternoon. The only downside was that when we came back to the cabanas after our ride to finish the bottle (around 4:00 pm, with the area empty), a manager, Hyman, told us we couldn't sit there. It felt a little abrupt and surprising after such a great experience. Overall, Nigel's is a beautiful, fun spot with great food, drinks, and unique extras--we really enjoyed it, though that one moment did take away from an otherwise perfect afternoon. read more

When doing so, you must order either the pre-set buffet of 3 items or the plated brunch. I opted for the pre-set brunch of pink hen chicken and waffle, garden egg white scramble and the bananas foster French toast. Everything was hot and fresh! I went here for the first time with a group of friends over the weekend. We were unable to all fit in the half circle booth so we asked for a chair not once, not twice, but three times and mind you I am 7-months pregnant. We saw two different servers walk by with chairs for their table in which we stopped to ask and inform them I've been waiting for a chair, but they didn't care that I am 7-months pregnant, their tables needed a chair. I stood there for 15-minutes waiting and they finally brought me one. All appetizers we ordered were not very good and some came out cold. My main course and two other gals main courses in our group also came out dry and cold. Couldn't find a cuter pink theme anywhere, unless you went to Disneyland! After a fair amount of confusion about tables, we settled in to our table. After a fair amount of confusion over red wine ("we're out of red wine" WHAT??!), I ordered a lemon drop martini for myself, while hub and friend figured out the wine. Server asked if I'd like sugar on the rim. Why, yes, I would, thinking to myself, isn't that how that cocktail is always made... drink comes, it's tasty. I won't belabor the point that calamari was flavorless (was that really calamari in rectangles?!), asparagus spears didn't seem to be made on site (frozen) , main courses (risotto, salmon, corn and tuna app thing), were not special. Service, meh (I don't like being called " my dear" by the server), Nigel's did not meet my expectations. Mgr, Bobby, was so apologetic for various slip-ups and that was appreciated. Nigel's is a photo opportunity, nothing more and perhaps even less . The entrance was difficult to find, we had not parked in the structure that lead to the entrance and host desk . It was basically on the floor of the parking garage, so as you are entering the restaurant, you are in fact still in a parking garage with fluorescent lights, car fumes and revving car sounds. Aesthetics !! The bathroom had an out of order sink running and rolls of paper on the ground. The hand wash pump was not working. Once seated, our table of two was seated at a large round table meant for a large group that was so far from the seating bench . There was no way to adjust the table . I moved to the corner of the table but had we been in a larger group , someone would have been stuck in the awkward space. I don't understand how you could seat someone so far from the table ?!! We had no greeting from any server for a while . Eventually someone who was helping to break the servers arrived and took the order. They failed to mention they were out of many items on the menu. I tried to order the lobster roll and a glass of wine . The wine didn't arrive until the entree did , and by the time I had switched to a different entree because they were out of the two entrees I had tried to order by that time. So I "enjoyed" my glass of Pinot Grigio with red steak . The Server eventually arrived from break apologetically, but unfortunately the entire experience by this point was soooo disappointing. I understand the Servers may have been understaffed but for the price, this was dining rip-off. We had a 8pm reservation and found the nighttime views mostly blocked by a reflective plastic barrier, also underwhelming. The food arrived lukewarm as well . The Caesar salad wasn't pre-chopped but served on a slippery plate that is difficult to cut into the lettuce . As if the food is an after thought . $175 spent for two people , and I ended the meal wishing I had just walked out as I had initially almost done. Went here for the $65 girl dinner and had an 8:45 pm reservation. They couldn't seat us right away due to being backed up, then proceeded to close down the host stand after that. Got seated 15 minutes later then didn't get acknowledged for another 20 minutes. We ordered the girl dinner with our waitress then soon after another lady told us that it stopped at 9pm, even though we were supposed to be sat at 8:45. Didn't try to make it right or anything. NIGEL'S-WOW. I am so impressed by NIGEL'S. Reservation for lunch today with my daughter. Seated quickly near the water. Lovely view. Ambiance was fun. Felt like we went to a club in Hollywood. Our waitress, Monica, was friendly, professional, and attentive. We had the Leah's Spritz, which was so good and appropriate amount of alcohol. Started with warm pita bread and Flamingo Beet Hummus- amazing. We both had the Viva Petit Trio Plate with deep flavored tomato soup, tender Petit Filet, and wonderfully fresh Chopped Salad. So very filling and tasty. We were surprised with a Samores Ice Cream dessert that had a perfectly toasted marshmallow. We had to order the Butter Cake, that so many brag about and rightfully so. It was warm, light and served with berries and ice cream- luscious. My daughter also had a Swipe Right, which she very much enjoyed. We met Bobby, the manager and Nigel, the owner. Both so friendly and welcoming. After lunch, we were offered a complimentary 20 minute Duffy ride with Andrew, who guided us along the waterway and pointed out the moon jellyfish. I arrived at 2:00 PM for a 2:30 PM reservation, but our table was given away to another party and we were not seated until after 3:00 PM. When our food finally arrived, it was cooked incorrectly and served cold. The manager, who said her name was Dee (or Deandra), a short, slender woman, was extremely aggressive and made our table very uncomfortable. She became unpleasant and visibly angry when we informed her that the food was overcooked. Overall, it was a terrible experience. This is a nasty establishment, and I will not be returning.
