Called Nichols electric for a last minute help on a kitchen remodel. My contractor's electrician was a no show. The owner came out and gave me an estimate and was willing to squeeze me in. The next day my contractor called me and said his electrician was going to do the electrical. I said ok due to it was my contractors guy and he would be responsible for it. I had been calling electricians for over a week to swap out a simple light fixture in my kitchen. I called from my own list as well as the Yelp 10 best In Framingham. Two got back to me - with a 3 - 4 week wait list. It gets too dark in my kitchen to wait that long. Contractors of all kind, a word of advice. If you too busy to do the job, let the customer know. Leave a message, a text, whatever. Next time we have a big fat expensive project to do, we will remember that you took the time to get back to us so we don't have to try and hunt you down. Wastes everyone's time & pisses potential customers off. I even requested that they please let me know if they CAN'T do it, it would be so appreciated, but I didn't get that courtesy either. Maybe my problem was that when I left a message, I let them know it's a small job. In and out, done. Perhaps that isn't a big enough job to respond to. Whatever. Now I let people know who NOT to call. Except for Nichols Electric! He got back to me in a day, and even though he is booked out for a while, he squeezed me in. Why? Because I let him know it was a simple swap out, he saw a time slot in his schedule for it that day by chance, and made it work! I recently called Nichols Electric because an outlet on the exterior of my house stopped working. One of their electricians arrived ten minutes later and quickly fixed the outlet. During the repair the electrician accidentally put a small tear in the screen on our slider doors. He apologized and came to our house on a Saturday (on his own time) to replace the screen. Nichols Electric has always given us this kind of incredible service. His work is excellent, prices fair, and he stands behind his work. And clearly he hires outstanding people. read more

I called Nichols Electric today, 12/11/19, due to a breaker issue that wouldn't allow my furnace to start up, and our house was very cold in the middle of the day. I've never hired Nichols before but needed someone to assess and hopefully repair the problem immediately. Kevin Nichols answered the phone, listened to my problem and understood the severity of the situation. He assured me an electrician would be at my house within 20 minutes. Sure enough, Brian arrived in just about 20 minutes from Nichols Electric and immediately began to look for the problem. Within a few minutes Brian found the problem and began his repair. We had power back to our furnace in 30 minutes, and shouldn't trip that breaker again due to a reconfiguration, according to Brian. All in all, we are very happy with the service level, and the cost to repair our issue. If we have electrical work needed at our house in the future, we'll definitely call Nichols Electric again. read more

Lost power midnight Friday due to burned service wire outside of house , my responsibly and not Eversource. I had used Kevin a month ago and gave him a call Saturday morning. He was out within 3 hours and replaced the line and meter box and good to go by 1pm. He broke a previous commitment he had to help out because I had no power. Great service. read more

This was the easiest experience I've ever had with a contractor. I spoke to Kevin and about 2 days later he was in my neighborhood so he stopped by.
