We had our oil burner blower fixed. Super grateful to Aderito from Ideal Air. Very bright and hardworking guy. Our previous company said that the blower is stuck and we need to replace the whole unit + AC for 11K. Aderito pulled the blower out and replaced it with a new one for 1.5K. Super polite, explained everything, worked till 8:30 pm until everything was done. Can't be happier about them. Awful service. I found Ideal Air HVAC on Thumbtack. I had an issue with a 3rd gen Neat thermostat. It was not holding a charge. All of that was completely clear when I looked for help on Thumbtack. The two people that came over had no clue what they were doing. And whoever they talked to on the phone also had no idea what they were doing. They insisted that the Neat needed a common wire. Literally the Nest thermostat box says "no common wire needed" but they insisted that I needed a common wire. They had no clue how to fix it, didn't even attempt to try, snake a new wire or literally do anything. And, the icing on the cake was that the guy trying to put the Nest back on the wall was trying really hard to force it back into the mount. Looked like he was going to break it. After 5-10 minutes of being at the house, they gave up and asked for their $99 service fee. I reluctantly paid it, but I literally feel scammed. Stay away from this company. Do not hire them. Our condo's maintenance guy, Charlie from Broadlawn Park Condominiums, placed a call for an AC repair in my unit, around 5:23 PM on Friday 08/30/2019. According to an email received from an account executive at Barkan Management, it was the responsibility of Ideal Air to respond to the call, and the call was already fielded to them. It is Tuesday 09/13/19 and I have yet to hear from Ideal Air on the ETA of their technician. I will never recommend this company to any of my friends, family or clients! read more

My HVAC system was leaking water as it pan was rotted. the system was over 15 years old and I received quotes from several HVAC firms ranging from 10K to 26K. I called Ideal Air for a replacement quote and Odean from Ideal air told me that my HVAC can still go on for another 10 years and I can fix the issue for about $1000. He replaced the pan which was bit involved work and also replaced zone dampers. A whole year a gone by and system is working strong!! I was very surprise to find a honest professional in this field who wants to do the right thing and push for the big bucks! read more

we hired Ideal Air to do work for us for a job, they did the work but then never followed up for payment. We submitted payment directly to them over the phone via credit card, but for some reason it seems they never processed it. They never then followed up for almost a year so we never knew it wasnt paid. I then tried to resolve this directly with Odean after he started submitting nasty reviews on the web. He however was too busy to remove the nasty reviews and instead continues to post them. this is an issue with their ability to follow up, not ours. They chose to not resolve the issue and this is a vendor I would make sure to never ever use. read more

My experience with Ideal Air was extremely positive. I called on Christmas night and was able to speak with a live person. She scheduled an appointment for me the next day. Odean arrived at my house on time ON THE SATURDAY AFTER CHRISTMAS with a mask on and a smile in his eyes. He was also very nice to my barking dog! He explained everything he was checking and how he planned to fix it. He was friendly and seemed honest and fair. I would recommend and use Ideal Air again without hesitation. read more

Had someone come out to quote a central air install. They changed the time from 10-12 to 8-10 without any notice that morning. Once the rep came to look at the work, things seemed doable and all we needed was an estimate. After two weeks and a few calls and emails, the quote STILL hadn't arrived. I had a very negative experience with this company. I reached out to them for a furnace repair. They came to fix it, left shortly thereafter saying it was fixed, but the burner went out again within an hour. They came back a second time, said it was fixed, and it went out again shortly thereafer. After I called the technician back he was very rude. I called the main office and was told the manager would reach out to me to rectify the situation. He never called. Meanwhile they charged full price for the "service". The only positive was that responded quickly to the initial inquiry, but because they didn't fix the issue it ended of costing me more time and money than if I had hired another company. I had a great experience. Had an issue with one of our heating units and tried 4-5 other companies and none had anything available in less than 2 weeks. Ideal Air was available next day. From the moment I called, they were very courteous and professional even took the explain the process without me asking. All the other companies I called prior felt like they couldn't wait to get off the phone. Shortly after setting the appointment, received confirmation via text. Next day within the window of time given got a text confirming arrival time. Odean was great and fix the issue and shared some things to be looking out for. He left and got a text requesting my feedback through another system not Yelp. Just great service, a rarity these days. read more

They are horrible I drove 1-15 minutes to meet with them for a appointment, they confirm twice with me that they will be there, waited 1-1/2 they never showed called 3 times they said they will call back it's been 5 hours still no phone call, they wasted 4-1/2 hours of my day, I left a job early to meet them I wouldn't hire this company to install a light bulb. I have called Ideal Air HVAC after going through reviews in google and yelp. However my experience was not good with them. I thought i would take an annual membership with them for both tuning up both my boiler and central AC I had an appointment with them on 12 December 2018. Kevin showed up on time and started the tuning up of boiler. He tried to open up the nut with inappropriate tool and ultimately worn them out (Pic is attached). I repeatedly asked him to bring the appropriate tool and then try to open it but he didn't listen. Ultimately he left without letting me know when he will be back Second appointment was scheduled on December 19th after chasing them twice. Both he and his manager Odean Lee came that day with the tool and was successful in removing the nut. After that Odean left with that particular tool. Now when it comes to put the nut back, Kevin was off course not having that tool. I asked him to call Odean and have the tool back in order to complete the job. He again didnt listen and when i called Odean from my side, he told him that home owner is not happy rather than asking the tool That was complete lack of professionalism. They have even provided the new nut after removing the first one, but whats the point if you worn them out again while tightening them? I asked Kevin to leave and requested Odean to complete the work. He told me that he will look into it but no response from them since 19th December 2018 Conclusion: 1. They send somebody who is not experienced enough to do the job and have no respect for the device they touch 2. They make customer to chase them even though he is ready to pay money 3. I used Ideal Air today, and had a great experience. Noticed last night my HVAC system was not working properly. The vents were blowing but it was not cool air. It got hotter and hotter in the house overnight. Called this morning and was able to get a same day appointment. Not sure if I caught a cancellation or was just lucky! Technician Stanley confidently diagnosed the problem and replaced the part. It is cool in my house again! Very personable, professional service. 4 stars only because I didn't hire them for this job. Ideal Air, specifically Odean Lee and another person, came to my house to inspect an AC system that needed to be replaced. They came very quickly, and went far beyond what was required. Rather than accept my story that the system needed to be replaced, they tested it, measured the amount of coolant present, and discussed with me the options of recharging the equipment or replacing it. I asked for replacement, and they quickly supplied a quote. Ultimately, I chose another contractor based on other factors, but I was impressed with their service and would be glad to work with them on other jobs. read more

For some reason everything in our house seems to break late at night or on weekends. Odean has been a super hero, saving the day (night) several times. Tonight was the hot water heater that died. It lived its natural life and we only knew that something was wrong because of a water leak alarm Odean had put in our basement on a prior visit. This probably saved us thousands of dollars in damage as we would have gone to bed oblivious to the flooding basement. Only giving one star to enable the review. Deserves zero stars. On 9/30/19, we made an appointment for a water heater repair at 4:00. Received text and email confirmations of the appt. At 4:30, no one had arrived, nor was there any contact made via, phone, text or email explaining the delay. We called the office and were told they would get in touch with the technician assigned to the case and obtain a new ETA, and that we would be called back. No call back came and we placed another call at 5:15, only to be told that the office was closed and that the answering service had no way to contact the technician to obtain any more information. Needless to say, no one ever showed up or called back to explain. Not only did this cost lost work time on our part, but without the availability of hot water, we had to check into a hotel for the night. The most unprofessional and unresponsive service company we've ever dealt with. When we called the office the next day to register a complaint, the only response was "Hope you keep us in mind for a future job.".....Seriously??? read more

They didn't show for first appt and said it was a computer error. Came for the rescheduled appt (cost $150) and said that someone who was trained in duct work would need to come back. We set up that appointment and they didn't show for that appointment either. Since then, have not been able to reach anyone or have our calls returned. Of four companies called to check one of our two non-working ac units, Odean was the only one who opened the unit to check the inside. 0 stars - Company sent 2 service people to evaluate our central air compressor not starting. They ended up being here for 30 minutes and claimed to "fix" the problem as being loose wires. About a month latter, the same problem occurred and is was not fixable by securing loose wires. This is on top of being charged $300 for the first half hour service call! When I contacted them to address the recurring issue, they asked me "what are you asking for?" and failed to offer to come back and fix the recurring issue that they obviously did not properly diagnose during the first visit. I have sent went with another company that was much more professional and appropriately cost that solved the issue in less time. Please stay away from NON-IDEAL AIR! read more

I used their service for dryer vent cleaning. I would not recommend them if you have dryer on the 2nd floor. They don't have ladders long enough, but they did charge me for the ladder anyway. Since they don't have a long enough ladder, the technician tried to clean it from the attic. He did his best. He was alone and he didn't have anyone to help (When I asked he said, they are a small company and they have one technician on a day) The lint build up on the outside vent cover is still there. And it seems like the lint got pushed to close to the end of vent, creating blockage. My dryer takes almost twice the time to dry than what it was taking earlier. When I reached out to them, they are now saying there is a fault with my dryer!!! read more

I reached out to Ideal Air Monday morning after my AC stopped working. That same afternoon they showed up to fix the problem. On their initial visit, after checking different things and replacing some parts, the unit started working again. About an hour after they left, the unit tripped out again so I called them back (it was off hours). The next day two guys from Ideal showed up (one of them being the owner) and spent a good amount of time checking things out. Finally they found the issue which was hidden behind the wall. They fixed the problem and did not charge me extra for it. Great guys to deal with. Very reasonable and they will be my first call for future issues. I do like how they are a small business so their focus is more on customer satisfaction which leads to repeat customers and referrals than the other bigger AC guys focused on quantity of work but not quality and gaining new customers. We had Ideal Air to our home a couple weeks ago to assess an issue with our steam heat: some radiators were staying cold and the whole system was banging at a terrifying volume whenever the heat was on. Ideal Air graciously accommodated us for a same-day appointment, and David showed up on time (early, actually, which he cleared with me first). He was friendly, knowledgeable, efficient, and so patient with my many questions and concerns. In addition to replacing several of our steam vents to solve the problem at hand, he offered routine maintenance of the system, which was long overdue and something we had been meaning to do anyway. My husband and I felt the whole thing was reasonably priced and I never got that feeling that they were just trying to "sell us" on additional services/parts. Best of all, David's work fixed our problem 100% -- well worth the cost. I highly recommend them and we will likely call them back ourselves in the near future for additional, unrelated work.
