Called KW on Tues Jan 14th around 8am asking for drain service. Ken sr. arrived around 10am and looked at job. He said should be able to do Friday and that he would communicate to his son to send me a quote and get scheduled. Wednesday there was no contact, so I left a message late in the day asking for an update. Thursday morning, I called and got Ken jr. I asked for an update. He said what is this about? I told him and he said I will call my dad and get back to you. Thursday, Friday, Sat and Sunday go by with no contact. As I write this review it is Thursday Jan 23rd and I have heard nothing from either one of them. Needless to say, I got somebody else. I am baffled how they blew me off and wasted my time. Recent service included fixing our zone 2 heat switch, installing a bathroom faucet, and replacing a shower stall valve and spray head. The price was very reasonable compared to other quotes I received. They offer free estimates unlike the "big guys" who charge you ~$100 to walk in your door and high rates so they can pay for their advertising budget. read more

I had a very positive experience with KW Plumbing & Heating. My boiler wasn't producing steam. They diagnosed the problem quickly and repaired it just as fast. They were early to the appointment. $200 service call fee was appropriate for the nature of the outage and the urgency with which I needed my problem fixed. There was no high pressure sales, upgrade or maintenance contract talk. I would not hesitate to use KW P&H again and I would recommend them to a anyone that has HVAC problems that need fixing. read more

Excellent service and response. We've had the boiler issue for the past 2-3yrs and the guys we've been using just kept on telling us to replace various parts which never fixed the issue. Our boiler kept shutting itself off randomly and finally it stopped working all together. We tried a new service, called KW Plumbing. The response was immediate. Ken and his dad took the time to diagnose the problem by calling the manufacturer, had the correct part delivered and helped fixed the boiler within days. Two weeks later the boiler is still working perfectly and we are so relieved having reliable heat source for this coming winter. We have a Viessman brand boiler. I went with 5 stars, but came close to knocking off a star due to the cost. I had a shutoff valve to our washing machine break when I shut it off. I checked, and thought about getting the $40 part and doing it myself, as it seemed pretty easy. When I saw people online talking about getting a different sized washer, I figured I wanted a pro to do this. Ken arrived in less than an hour (which I was very grateful for), had the part with him, got it installed quickly, and was really nice. He even hooked up the water hammer arrestor that I had been replacing (which I thought was going to require a service call to LG, as the threads on the washing machine were damaged). The only reason I came close to giving just four stars was that I was charged $230 (and no breakdown of the price on the invoice), or close to $200 in labor for a ~15 minute job, for a company in town. But, I didn't ask about pricing before he came, and I think value shouldn't factor highly in ratings, so I kept it at 5 stars. read more

These guys are simply the best. I recently had my kitchen countertops redone and called Ken to fix the plumbing job that goes along. The entire project had several issues and delays like last minute delay in granite installation, in correct size of the hole, me having ordered wrong replacement parts (more than once) and very specific requirements of my RO system. But Ken and Vinny were very patient and understanding of the issues all along. He came to my house promptly without any delays each time and did a perfect job finally without charging me much. Ken is great. I called to request service on my boiler (which was not producing heat or hot water). He was fully booked for the day and was not able to come to the house to service it. We needed a section of corroded copper pipe replaced. They were in and out in about 15 minutes and did an excellent job on the repair!

Do not hire this contractor for Veissmann. Claimed he was a certified Veissman installer. Does not know the product. Does not stand by his work. Cannot program the computer needed to operate the system. Does not return calls. Used cheap shim to hold condensation pipe up, which of course broke within months and caused damage to home. Used too short pipe, did not meet code, etc. I could go on and on. We have pics, come see for yourself. read more

While our 1900's home has lots of charm, I'm not a fan of boiling hot water on the stove turn of the century style to ensure my dishes are sanitized properly... After getting the run around from another plumber (who will get another review all to himself) for an entire week, I was desperate to get the hot water to my kitchen sink working again. Since I'm new to MA, I started with google and then checked Yelp reviews and settled on two companies to call. Both I spoke to were fantastic and Kenneth Wood Plumbing and Heating won since they could come out the next morning. Ken (senior, his son works for him too) gave me a window and arrive during that time with an assistant. Very personable and quick to assess the issue and get to work. They were able to take care of the whole situation and clean up everything in the area they worked in 30-45 minutes. I genuinely appreciate when people take their jobs as seriously as I take mine and want to make the best use of everyone's time. I also had him take a quick look at the hot water heater and he gave me some pricing for when it's time comes as well - which is not only quite reasonable, but he also let us know about the more efficient tank less options and rebates available for them as well. He knows his stuff and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend him to anyone in the area and if we need a plumber again he's going to be our first call. We called Ken on a Monday morning after discovering a burst pipe. Three other companies couldn't fit us in but Ken responded within 15 minutes telling us he'd be at the house within two hours, which he and his crew were. They quickly assessed the situation, explained all the steps throughout the process, and worked hard to get everything back in working order. After fixing the problems, they made recommendations for future improvements and were extremely nice and professional throughout the visit.
