I've used this company three times. They have always sent different people but this time there were three of them instead of the usual two. They handle your things with care and don't break stuff in your house. They moved quickly each time. The third time something turned up missing in my new house. THIEVES. Something very expensive (gold necklace placed in a carter's shoe box w/my toddler's next size shoes) that was in the room they put one thing in, was taken. It was sitting next to the diaper table. They must scan the rooms for anything takable. I searched the security tapes to see if they had taken anything and only saw one of them leaving our house with a blue blanket wrapped up under his arm like a baby with the outline of a box showing from behind. Now if they really want people to feel secure they should require the men to show that nothing is in their blankets before leaving. A quick verification does not hurt but not checking because you don't want to be 'rude' is very costly. We should have the right to feel secure w/out having to worry about being rude to them to see if they are walking off with our belongings. Btw no one has been in my house but this box found a way out the door after they left. You make your choice. It seems mostly anyone will walk off with anything of yours no matter how nice you are to them, no matter how costly the service (thousands), and no matter the tip. read more

If I could give zero stars I would. Negative zero starts for POLLY. I have never been treated this way by any business (specifically Polly) and I am outraged, shocked and extremely disappointed in the way this company now operates. To say the least. Polly repeatedly interrupted me and cut me off as I was trying to explain the situation at hand with my shipment. Not once did she let me complete a sentence. NOT. ONCE. I had to ask her to stop interrupting me about 7 times. The second I tried to start to tell her the truth about what is actually going on, (b/c she was flat out LYING to me; I had all the records in front of me) she immediately cut me off and kept going about god knows what, as LOUD as she could, and at this point we were both talking at the same time. Imagine this happening about 20 times. She would have no part in listening to me, AT ALL, a loyal customer who has used their service for over 10 years. I couldn't believe someone in the service industry was actually acting like this! This is crazy! (What is even happening right now.) The second I opened my mouth she started arguing w/me in a very loud manner and kept raising her voice to drown me out. Again, this happened about 20 times. Oh. She also accused me of lying when I told her I called and left a voice mail and told me I should've sent an email instead and its my problem. Umm, I was RETURNING A CALL FROM YOU GUYS (Luis to be exact.) I can't even tell you how frustrating this was!! Of course I was so upset at her behavior. Who wouldn't be!? This was the most frustrating experience I've ever had in my entire career!! I tried to stay calm but dealing w/someone as horrible like that I finally had enough and just couldn't take it anymore. I just said, you know, you're a real piece of f-ing work. She completely lost it, screamed at me and said I was degrading HER etc etc and totally went off on me and hung up. It was like a tornado on the other end of the phone!! Funny how she was able to hear that and nothing else. I recognize gas lighting and manipulation when I hear it. (I studied behavioral psychology for years.) She was immensely rude from the very start. When I called back again to speak to the actual person who had originally called me, (Luis or Martin) she picked up the phone and immediately yelled at me again and said "OH NOOO YOU'RE NOT SPEAKING TO ANYONE TOO BAD FOR YOU" and also said something to the effect of - hell no you're not talking to ME like that and degrading ME... and laughed like a psychopath, said F U and in true teenage fashion, said BYEEEEEEEEEE and hung up on me. Well. Lol. Ok. What a horrible person. Wow. So now, they have my stuff and they wont pick up the phone. I suppose I can involve legal counsel now, as this was my second attempt to resolve an issue to no fault of my own, btw. I have been using their service since 2012. I have never ever been treated like this and I'm still pretty shocked. I will NEVER use this company again. Too bad they can't find better help. This person is unhinged and revealed just how crazy unorganized and scattered they are with their communication and invoicing and general operating system. Call a different moving company. read more

I rarely post reviews; however, I feel compelled to do so today, based on Marty's [the owner] exceptional response time during a 'move emergency' this weekend. I've used Nice Moves (Dallas, TX) for over 10 years. Since I'm writing a review, I'm going to elaborate on my 10 years of personal and professional experience with them. #1) Luis, Sr. Logistics Manager: I've worked with Luis since the beginning. I'm a consultant/logistics manager myself, and feel it's hard to exceed the level of service and response times that I provide to my clients. Luis passes the acid test with a 10. He's truly a logistics miracle-worker; I've never dealt with another resource who can 'make a way' when there appears to be, to all involved stakeholders, 'no way.' Luis, thank you for 10 years of phenomenal service and 'miracle-working' on my behalf. #2) Polly, Accounting Manager: I think I've worked directly with Polly for 7+ years. I have numerous clients, and my clients have their own clients. Needless to say, the billing can be confusing and complex, as I use Nice Moves personally and professionally. Not to worry... Polly has things in control. If you have a question, she has the correct answer. I say 'correct' because many resources I deal with at other companies have answers; however, when they provide inaccurate data it simply creates more work for me. Polly is beyond competent and has the ability to manage myriad details with clarity and aplomb. #3) Marty, Owner: I've had limited interaction with Marty, but here's what I can tell you--he's a consummate professional, and he always answers. I had the opportunity to meet with him [on behalf of a high-end interior design client] to bid on a 14,000 sq. ft. showroom move, with assets totaling $30+ million. He says what he means and does what he says he'll do. Other bids were provided by Delivery Limited, White Glove, and Curtis Specialized Moving and Storage. Marty's bid was the most cost-effective; Nice Moves was awarded the multiple-day contract. I knew these priceless items were in good hands with his team. The project was executed without incident, according to budget and schedule. Analysis: If you're looking for any type of move (from an apartment to a 14,000 sq. ft. high-end showroom) Nice Moves, in my opinion, is the go-to company. We used Nice Moves on a very hot summer day. These men worked harder and faster than any workers I've ever been around. They were extremely careful with our belongings and were very competent in complex situations, such as moving an oversized refrigerator through small doors. We are a custom furniture company in Oregon. We ship our handcrafted tables all over the country. Because of their size our clients sometimes request for a White Glove Moving Service to receive the crate at a warehouse then bring the table and assemble it in their home. When I began my search in the Dallas, Texas area I went straight to Angie's List. Nice Moves was on the top of the list for reviews. We are extremely picky who we choose to move our items because our one of a kind tables are irreplaceable. From the beginning I was impressed by Nice Moves. They answered their phone the first time I called, were clear and concise about the price. When it came to receiving the freight from the freight company, they were incredibly thorough and opened to inspect the crate before they would release the driver. Due to the freight company stealing our packaging material inside the crate, the table arrived damaged. Nice Moves took pictures for us and worked with us while we filed a claim with the freight company. After 3 weeks, we had them repackage the table inside our crate to be sent back to us to repair. They did an outstanding job wrapping and repackaging it. They sent us pictures of their repackaging which put us and our customer at ease. We knew after the repair was made back in Oregon there was no other choice but to send it back to them to do the job we originally discussed. They received the freight and contacted our client to deliver and assemble the tabletop to the base. We pre-drilled the holes where the base would go and provided the screws. Our client was completely satisfied with how Nice Moves treated his table and his home as they came in to deliver. If we ever have a table that needs White Glove Service in the Dallas area we wouldn't think twice about using Nice Moves again. When your own reputation is on the line with your customer, it is incredible to find a company who is as professional and careful in the moving industry as they are. We worked with Miguel who is the warehouse manager and also Tony in the office. They are amazing and care about their company and their customers. Hopefully this helps others who are trying to decide who they want to use. I spent over 10 hours reading reviews on Angie's List and Yelp to make an educated decision for our company. Hired Nice Moves to move a 1 bedroom apartment. They were supposed to be there at 3pm to start and showed up at 3:45pm. It took 2.5 hours to load up a 15' uhaul and that was with myself and 2 other people helping bring boxes out to the truck for them. I had to help arrange items in the uhaul in order to make everything fit. I then let the 2 person crew leave because we were paying by the hour and too much standing around was being done. Called and spoke with Luis the next day who said that he would discuss with the owner and get back to me to and I never heard anything. Finally called and left a message with the owner and received a call back a few days later stating that he would try and help us out with the charges and now they will not answer my calls or call back. No masks were worn when entering the apartment either. I hate writing negative reviews, however I hired a company to complete a job that I ultimately had to do myself anyway. We recently used Nice Moves - they were not only to accommodate our move at the last moment during the heavy move season, but hold onto our things overnight. Our plans had changed due to renovations on our new place and we absolutely had to be out of our old place. All the movers came in, were professional, nice and worked fast. They also worked magic getting our furniture into our new place - a 3 story townhouse, so they maneuvered tight stairways and corners like true champs. I am not sure why this is listed as closed - we used them last week, THEY ARE WONDERFUL! This is my 20th move and the first time using Nice Moves. We were very impressed. My husband found them on Angie's List, and I would not hesitate to use them again. We are empty nesters & moved into a loft on the 2nd floor of a bldg. Unfortunately, the freight elevator is disabled for needed repairs, so these four guys moved everything up the stairwell. Very polite, very respectful, and worked HARD all day. They needed help moving a piano upstairs and brought three more guys over to help at the end of the day, who had already finished their route. The new guys were just as hard working and polite as the first four. Today, we received a refund check in the mail due to an overcharge. I can't say enough nice things about these folks. read more
