I had great experience with this company! After having issues with Dr Move I searched Yelp in finding movers with good reviews. I sent 10 requests and Rogelio called me the first and he sent the quote immediately. The other companies sent their quotes, but since Rogelio's quite was one of the best plus he replied to all my calls I decided to go with him. I hired lightening movers for a 6 mile move. I sent them a list of all items I want moved and when they arrived, I walked them through all the items. I had also texted them to confirm that if they have space left they would pick up the extra boxes (of clothes and miscellaneous items) . When they arrived they packed all items really well but started loading the small boxes and miscellaneous items first. They randomly started throwing things in there as if this was their first gig. In the end they didn't have space for the items they were hired to move. They told me it would take a second trip to pick the remaining items. When they dropped off the furniture I saw that they already had some furniture in their truck which is probably why they didn't fit my stuff. In the end I paid 400 dollars more because they packed their trucks like an amateur and had other furniture loaded before they reached here. The guys were hard working but because of not knowing how to load a truck I ended up paying 400 more dollars. Wouldn't recommend these guys. I love Lightning Moving! I have used them twice over the past 15 months and both times were super speedy and efficient. With 3 movers, the time really flies. It's ironic that I'm leaving a negative review on Yelp, because this is how I found these guys. I went with them because of their Yelp reviews, their availability, and the price. They charged me $95 per hour (with a $50 travel fee). It's a middle of the road price - They don't really undercut their competition with price. These guys are SLOOWWWW. I was originally quoted 2-2.5 hours for my move after giving them a detailed list of my belongings. Their slow pace wouldn't necessarily bother me had I not been charged by the hour. BUT, since almost all movers charge by the hour, my stress mounted until the time for payment came. It took 4 hours to move a (very well packed and organized, 100% boxed) 1 BR apartment 15 miles. It was incredibly frustrating. They cleaned me out. I tried to negotiate with them after the work had been done; I reminded them that they quoted me 2-2.5 hours. It almost got hostile so I just paid the money hoping that this dent in their Yelp status might make a difference. Hopefully it will. Bottom line - These guys are slow slow slow. I'm pretty sure I spoke to every moving company (and random mover dude with his brother's truck) in the DFW area in the weeks leading up to my boyfriend's move. It was to the point where I could rattle off everything they needed to know before they even opened their mouths. Kinda ridic. A week before the move, I finally found Lightning Movers. Rogelio not only gave me the best, most amazing, almost unreasonably fair quote, but he was also the most efficient with communication. I got a detailed written quote within minutes of hanging up the phone with him, and he returned all my calls within moments as well. He actually showed up early with his workers on move day. They worked efficiently, and did a really professional job of wrapping all the furniture to prevent damage. My boyfriend was super anxious about the move because the last movers had damaged his coffee table and big screen, so he was planning on moving his TV, speaker system, and other delicate man-valued items on his own. But once he saw how careful Rogelio and his guys were, he let them move that stuff too. They helped me right away, gave me an estimate, sent me an e-mail confirming my move, called me the day before my move, and politely called me 15 minutes before arriving at my place. On a recommendation from a friend, I hired Lighting Movers for my in-town move. I first had them stop at my work to pick up an old "Mad Men" tanker-style desk, which there was no way I was going to be able to move myself. They were scheduled to be there at 8:00a, and were there at 8:02a, They then drove to my old rental home, and then my new home (a mile away from the old place). The whole move took almost exactly three hours, and that's taking into account the 45 minutes taken up for going to get the desk. They brought a crew of three, and they were very fast and efficient. One mover was coordinating what was going in the truck while the other two were hauling things out. They also wrapped up my drawers in cling wrap and unhooked my washer/dryer for me since the hubby was already at the new place. These guys did exactly what I paid them to do, in exactly the time frame that had been estimated. The price was fair ($95/hour for a crew of three, plus $55 transportation fee), absolutely nothing was damaged (a first for me in an in-town move), and the crew was professional, prompt and courteous. Lightning Moving will be my go-to movers when I move again! They were awesome. We had things in storage for two years that we had to get into our garage. The movers were very patient with me looking for our pictures that I wanted to take directly into the house with AC. They packed and unpacked the truck carefully, quickly and efficiently. We used Lightning Moving to move from a 1 bedroom apartment to a 1 bedroom about 30 minutes away. The price was $95 an hour with a flat $55 transportation fee. This was the same price I got from 2 other companies. My wife was nervous about having someone else moving our furniture because she didn't think they would be careful.. Quite the opposite! The 3 guys who moved us wrapped every piece of furniture in blankets and saran wrap. They packed everything into the truck tight so that nothing moved, even when there was a tire in the middle of the road on the freeway that we had to swerve around! The 3 guys also have been doing this for years, so it wasn't like we were just getting some highschool kids who just were looking for a summer job. They said that they had moved someone every single day for the past 2 1/2 weeks! The job took exactly what I was expecting time frame wise. It came out to right at $380 for 3hrs 15 mins. I had bought them donuts and water in the morning.. I was so incredibly pleased with them that I gave them an extra $100. Note that if you use a credit card over cash, there is a 5% fee. I would definitely recommend these guys if you are looking for a mover. Avoid this company at all costs. Hired them twice and the second time was a huge expensive mistake. Two bedroom apartment took NINE HOURS to move out and the job was NOT COMPLETED. Reserved a 3 person crew and they showed up with only 2 guys and a small truck. Because of that they had to make multiple trips which cost me time and money. In the end they Still did not finish the move and I ended up having to spend more days moving the rest of the items on my own. Ended up costing $950 and like I said, they didn't even finish the job. I called the number and the owner answered the phone. I had to ask him for his name, and after finding out who I am speaking with, I ask if they are insured and bonded? He said that they are insured as well as bonded. I scheduled the moving of a 6000.00 dollar SNAP-ON tool box. I asked the owner if they had moved an item like this and he asured me they had! After secureing the moving price of the box we set a date. On the date of the move the movers showed up late! In loading my tool box I was not made aware of the policies that they go by! Real moving companies tell you up front and give you options for purchasing extra insurance which this company did not! The two young men loaded my tool box and we are on our way. Before leaving I asked them to wait for me to be there before they unload my box so I can make sure they lock the casters (wheels) on the box to make sure it doesnt roll! Keep in mind this is how I make my living everyday as a auto repair tech. When I arrive at the drop off point for my box, they did not wait for me and I found my box, laying on its back in the parking lot ! The company I am now working for has a digital camera set up around the building and the dropping of my box from a distance of 6 feet out the back of this truck off the lift gate is caught on camera and documented! The moving men pushed my box onto the lift gate and failed to lock the wheels, one man turned around , not paying attention while the other lowered the liftgate. The 550 lb box loaded with all my tools rolled off the lift and flipped upside down and landed on the back corner of the box on concrete! It destroyed not only my box but seriously hendered the ability for me to make a living! My box was in perfect condition and did not have a scratch on it until these unprepaired BOOBS destroyed it! To make a longer story short! I paid someone to completely destroy my box, was made an offer of being paid .60 cents per pound for a 6000.00 dollar box and I am sorry from the owner! I still have not even recieved what they have offered to pay for damage! So beware of these guys, fellow movers! Oh, and by the way! It took them about 15 minutes to figure out how to maneuver my couch out of my living room, professionals these are not. Because our house was new construction, we weren't exactly sure when it was going to be final and we were very anxious to move out of the apartment that we had moved to during construction. Lightning Moving Company is a great service. They are polite, efficient, strong and careful. I had a bunch of huge fish tanks that they moved with ease. My family has used them four times and had great success. They wrapped and padded everything fragile. I used them to move from two different apartments to one house last Saturday. I had time window from 3-5pm, but did not get any call for delay of schedule. Therefore, I called them at 4:30 pm and then they gave a call back in 5 minutes and told me their schedule were behind but should be able to arrive my house in 20 minutes. Finished the moving in about two hours, which we have 35 boxes, two mattresses, and some small furniture. Good moving experience. Lightning moving was quick to respond, their movers were friendly, and most of all they actually showed up when we scheduled with them. We have used Lightning Moving previously and have always had a good experience. They showed up to our Dallas home with a 3 man team and packed our entire house in just a few hours. They carefully wrapped everything fragile, padded our t.v.'s and dressers, and had the truck loaded and ready to go in just 5 hours. A 7 hour drive later, they showed up and immediately started unloading. After a long and exhausting day, they were still very efficient and quick. I picked these guys because of the positive reviews here. But after dealing with them, I realize that all the positive reviews are likely fake. I booked them for the move, by the hour. They sent four skinny and/or short Hispanic guys, who took SIX hours to move a two-bedroom condo. They pretended not to have bubble wrap so they can charge you $15 for the old clothing wrap they used to protect your items. I signed the moving contract at 12:45 PM, and they finished at 6:40 PM. But they wanted to charge me 7 hours for the move. I refused since I had the time on my cell phone that they got to the condo complex gate at 12:39 PM. So they took my flat screen TV as collateral. I called 911, but they refused to help me. I talked to the DA and a couple of police officers I know. They think that those guys committed grand theft since the TV was bought for more than $1000. I filed a police report just to be sure. The boss is kinda aggressive, so I was reluctant to write this review. But now that I got my concealed handgun license, I am more ok with the situation. I guess I will see these guys in court. read more

I CANNOT STRESS HOW GRATEFUL I AM TO THESE GUYS!! After having all my sons cancel on me the morning of my move I took to yelp to seek help. I saw a similar situation happen to another Lightning customer and thought I'd give them a try.
