I disagree with the last reviewer.
My relationship with NIC began when I took a job as an IT Director with a UHNW wealth management company in Beverly Hills. My manager had negotiated the SLA before I arrived and I was fortunate to inherit NICs support services to help take care of our team and the overall IT infrastructure support needs for the organization. This was the vendor relationship that I worked most closely and leaned on heavily during my time there. It was a high pressure and demanding environment and we had NIC's 24/7 support including everything from the help desk to servers, network, etc.
I was in that position for over 2 years and had the opportunity to learn about their technical expertise and have interacted with many members of their team during that time. They are knowledgeable, professional and overall very helpful. The tech that I worked with most often was Joe Ruiz who was extremely helpful. Joe was able to point out blind spot areas where he thought problems may arise if we did not address them and they were always good recommendations. I also give Joe credit for his patience in helping some end users who were challenging to work with, he would always work to resolve the issue with a friendly demeanor. Some of the IT projects and day to day items we worked to implement together included:
IT security:
Because we were in the wealth management space this role emphasized security to ensure that we were SEC compliant. NIC helped me to lock down our internal and external networks as well as apply defense in depth strategies via group policies, patch management, incoming email filters and much more. We implemented every reasonable step to reduce the risk of ransomware attacks and setup multiple backups so we could recover quickly in the event that the worst case scenario ever happened.
Setting up network fail over redundancies in case our main connection ever went down our connection would automatically flip over to a backup connection so we wouldn't lose productivity.
Firewall upgrades
Setting up multi-factor authentication on VPN and using Okta
Checking on then replacing one of our UPS power supply batteries which would support our on prem servers in the event that we lost power to the building.
VIP support for the top tier of the company
Patching computers / servers and upgrades during off hours to minimize disruptions during the day.
Working with our print vendor to resolve printing issues
Troubleshooting bugs with our VoIP phone systems
All of the above and much, much more....
I worked with them to implement many projects and I would recommend them if you need a solid, reliable and friendly IT team to support your business. They are responsive and willing to go above and beyond in those situations where something unexpected happens. read more
