When a stranger at a coffee shop accidentally knocked over my drink and it flooded my MacBook Pro,…read moreI thought, "It'll be fine." It was not fine. A few hours later my keyboard and trackpad started glitching. Panic mode. I jumped on Yelp because I didn't have time to roll the dice at the Apple Genius Bar and potentially lose a full day. I needed my laptop for school work that was due the next day. That's when I found Joseph. Calling him a computer repair guy feels disrespectful. He's more like a laptop surgeon! We sat down and he thoroughly inspected everything, explained exactly what liquid damage does internally, and broke it down in a way that even a non-tech person like me could understand. He used simple analogies to explain why certain components fail after spills, which honestly made the whole situation feel less overwhelming. Because I was on a tight deadline, he moved fast. He replaced the top case so I could get up and running immediately. We're calling that "Phase 1" -- basically a strategic band-aid so I could meet my deadline. I'll be going back next week for a deeper repair and full internal assessment once I have more time. What impressed me most: * Clear communication * Honest recommendations (no upselling) * Quick turnaround * Confidence without ego And yes -- he operates out of his home garage. Don't let that throw you off. It's basically a science lab in there. I was genuinely impressed by the level of equipment and Apple parts he had. It felt more like a specialized workshop than a random garage setup. I live on the Westside of LA and made the drive and I'd absolutely do it again. When you find someone competent and trustworthy, distance doesn't matter. If you're dealing with liquid damage, keyboard issues, or any MacBook emergency, Joseph is the real deal. Professional, smart, efficient, and genuinely cares about getting you back up and running. Highly recommend.

I just wanted to share the results: As you can see in the photo, my new display was labeled as a "genuine Apple part." Choose these folks for your data recovery needs! I had two WD (called Western Digital when they…read moredrives were made) HDDs that I needed data from. I was unable to recover data from them in different ways. Disc one was an external drive that would not power on. I tried removing it from its external enclosure and powering it from another, more different enclosure to no avail. The system was indeed down. Disc two was an internal drive that used to be my C drive- my boot drive. I removed it from an old computer after it stopped booting and put it into an external enclosure. Several different computers (Mac & PC) would recognize it sporadically, though none could access the data on it- error codes always came up. Before I removed it, from the old computer, I tried booting from an optical disc and other assorted methods, many other assorted methods... I believe I was very thorough in my efforts. I sent both in and received near 100% recovery. They said it was 100% from one and 99.9% from the other but I am unable to find that .1%. I got all of this for just barely above the $300 price in their name (each, not total). So for about $600 total (including new discs on which my recovered data was transferred and return shipping) I got this incredible service. The total price I paid for both discs at 300DDR is less than I was quoted at several other places for one disc. At each step they were great communicators, from their receipt of the discs to my receipt of the recovered data. I hope I never need their services again but should, I wouldn't hesitate to use them again. I highly recommend them.

I discovered 300DDR on YouTube after watching Brian's interview (youtube from 8 years ago). He came…read moreacross as very knowledgeable, passionate about his work, and genuinely focused on helping customers. Before sending my hard drive, I spent a lot of time researching the company. All I could find were positive reviews, which actually made me a little nervous because most companies have at least some negative feedback. I still wasn't sure if they were legitimate, and I was worried about whether my drive would arrive safely or if they would actually be able to recover my data. Before contacting 300DDR, I took my drive to a local computer repair shop. They had it for more than a week, and every time I followed up, I was told they would call me back. After several days, they finally contacted me, likely because I kept checking in, and unfortunately told me they could not recover the data. I then contacted another data recovery company, but they quoted me between $500 and $2,000 and would also charge an $85 diagnostic fee. I was really concerned about spending that much money without knowing whether they could recover anything. One thing I appreciated about 300DDR was that they do not charge a diagnostic fee, which gave me much more confidence in giving them a try. After doing more research, watching additional videos, and reading Reddit discussions, I still found overwhelmingly positive feedback about 300DDR. So, I decided to send them my drive. Once they received it, the process was impressive. They notified me immediately that my drive had arrived, and within 24 hours they had already evaluated it. They informed me that they could recover 74.46% of the data and explained that a head swap could potentially recover more. What I appreciated most was that any additional fee was only for the replacement parts and materials, not for labor. They also provided me with a link showing a detailed list of the files, photos, and videos they were able to recover, allowing me to make an informed decision before moving forward. Since most of my important files were included, I chose to proceed with the 74.46% recovery. Throughout the entire process, their communication was excellent. They kept me updated every step of the way and were professional, transparent, and honest about my options. Their pricing was also far more reasonable than the other companies I contacted. I can honestly say that all of the positive reviews I read were accurate. 300DDR exceeded my expectations, and I am incredibly grateful for everything they did. My hard drive contained priceless memories dating back to 2013, including videos of my children, wedding memories, family photos, and other important files. I had almost given up hope of ever seeing them again. No words can truly express how thankful I am to the entire team at 300DDR for helping me recover data that I thought was lost forever. I highly recommend them to anyone in need of data recovery services. One final piece of advice: if you decide to use 300DDR, make sure you are on the correct website. My husband searched for them and found several different websites, which caused some confusion. Take a moment to verify that you are visiting the official 300DDR website before sending your hard drive. Thank you, 300DDR, for giving me back memories that I thought were gone forever
