Such a gem of a place! I love that I can rely on Wilmette for my frequent pho obsession!

I recently visited Ni's kitchen while craving Pho during my travels and had such a great experience. The establishment is in such a cute area. There is street parking available nearby. The service was excellent - we were checked on often and the food was brought out quickly. The pho itself was delicious! The broth was very flavorful, containing plenty of scallions and onions. I had the beefsteak and brisket pho and found it to have a very decent serving of meat. I do wish that the meat was slightly less cooked, as the warm broth continues to cook it, but it was delicious nonetheless! You are also provided with beansprouts, limes, jalapeños, and Hoisin sauce. As an appetizer, we had the pork and shrimp summer rolls and the peanut sauce was so tasty for dipping them in! Overall, it was a great experience and great food. I would gladly visit Ni's again on my next Chicago visit.

Authentic pho here! My daughter who is a very picky eater really enjoyed her pho too! I also tried the Vietnamese hot coffee for the first time and it was very good and strong.

I ordered summer rolls and Thai tea to-go. The flavor is okay at best. My to-go cup of Thai tea wasn't even filled properly. There was about an inch between the top of the drink and the lid. The summer rolls are edible but nothing to write home to. The dipping sauce is okay. For the price I paid for two items, I felt a bit robbed. The staff are nice and the restaurant is cute, but the food is mid for what it cost.

Here's what you need to know: INCREDIBLE FOOD. This is what a great family owned chef run restaurant should be . Just wow! Cozy ambiance, awesome service and hospitality, and simply MAGNIFICENT food. Very well priced and over delivering in terms of quality and flavor. Truly a scratch kitchen. Can't say enough great things

This is great, local pho! The service here is always fast and friendly. We normally order the summer rolls and pho. Broth is always very fresh and flavorful. Thai tea here is also excellent. We've come back several times. Give it a try! :)

Tried pho tai tonight. Very fast delivery. Extremely hot. Beautiful, fresh ingredients all packed nicely. Nice spoon and chopsticks. Maybe the best pho I've ever had. 5 million out of 10

V1. Grilled Pork & Spring Rolls Vermicelli

The portions were good size and food was fresh. My husband ordered the pork and spring roll vermicelli bowl. They offered the option of doing half beef, half pork. But ended up charging extra $3 which made the bowl almost $20. Wish we were told up front but know we know.

This vegan pho was absolutely amazing. I had food allergies and I felt so taken cared of. The Thai iced tea was absolutely delicious and was a perfect mix of not too sweet. They were so careful and helpful with my dish. The spring rolls accompanied with the side sauce was so scrumptious. The service was a 10/10 and everyone was so attentive and respectful. The chef was the best and reminded me of my mom. I loved the cozy atmosphere complimented the lovely food. The people were also so caring and a wonderful company. Shoutout to Hazeland also talk to her about Kpop you deserve a massive tip. Love ya

Shoutout to Hazel for being the real one! K-pop lovers will love her - love the PHOTOCARD . Such sweet and genuine service! My friend has a serious peanut/treenut and seafood allergy and the owner constantly checked in with her to make sure that there was no chance of contamination. She absolutely refused any allergy breakouts, we felt so so safe!! Everyone was so kind, welcoming, and engaging - lovely staff Now the food - Thai iced tea was SO creamy and rich!!! Beautiful orange color so u know that sh good . Very flavorful too and sweet, but not nauseously - perfect balance and sooo refreshing it perfectly balanced the savory pho. My friend got the veggie one since it was seafood and treenut friendly, had fried tofu which looked splendid . I got the chicken which tasted amazingggfg. The broth was so savory and plentiful, and it was so warm and everything just melts in your mouth. The portion sizes were also really big so you're definitely getting your moneys worth! The spring roll appetizer was also perfect - light, buttery, and soooo crunchy so everybting inside melted all together in a gooey mesmerizing way I definitely recommend this place for the adorable and cozy ambience (perfect for winter with snow everywhere ), crunchy and buttery spring rolls with warm and savory pho, all washed down with a sweet and thirst quenching thai iced tea! 100000000000000/10

Their summer rolls are fresh and PACKED with shrimp and veggies, and even with take out, the presentation was beautiful. The appetizer platter featuring spring rolls and chicken wings were a fun dish to share, the wings having an addicting, umami-packed sauce that I couldn't get enough of. Also, even with take out, the wings were CRISPY! The pho hit the spot and the rice portions were huge, making this a new go-to take out spot in the area. Make sure to grab a Vietnamese coffee with your meal, the perfect sweet treat to end the night!

I ordered the pho with all the meats, which totaled up to 18.25 before tax. There is only one size of bowl which was huge; probably enough for two people in my personal opinion. Serving size was good for the price. The broth was clear but I could barely taste the aroma of the star anise, cinnamon, and cloves etc. as I have with other pho restaurants. Beef pho should also have a savory taste and I didn't sense that. The only reason I'd come back is to try other entrees.

There was a live saxophone player and I loved the live flowers they had. Our waiter was extremely nice and took the time to explain the menu as well as their customer favorites. I order a Thai iced tea which wasn't bad but I prefer mine a little thicker and sweeter. It came in a thin tall glass which in theory was not a lot of drink. To start we order the chicken appetizer and fried beef on rice to share and unfortunately I did not snap a pic but these were listed under apps or shareables but the portions were extremely small. As our mains came I noticed that they were also small and each were around $20-$30 per plate. Not a bad thing if you don't eat much but I'm a big bang for buck type of gal. My family came to share and this place is a more fine dining thai restaurant which could explain the smaller portions. We ordered the pad Thai which was alright in my opinion I expected a little more flavor, the aubergine which was tossed vegetables as recommended by our waiter which was also ok not much flavor but beautiful plating though, and the coconut curry which was by far my favorite. If I were to come back here I would order that again, it was a nice light yet complex flavor profile which made me savor every bite. Overall good place for an upbeat fancier meal and I highly recommend the coconut curry braised chicken if you visit. Little pricey but that's just my opinion let me know what you guys think if you visit! Oh and they also give your receipt in a boat which they spin and leave a thank you card once you paid which was really cute.

Mostly it focuses on Thai such as noodles and stuff with coconut. The prices aren't bad for the usually great quality. At lunch things are a bit cheaper. It's the main reason we came at this time. There's also plenty of good vegan and vegetarian choices and lots of spicy stuff or whatever. It's about $12 for a cocktail. There's a good amount of Asian inspired ones. Among these is the Bangkok Mule. This was made with kaffir lime infused vodka. Crisp and refreshing. The food is kind of pricey, which is the only bad thing. It's about $16 for an entree. The vegetarian choices include the Crispy Rice With Iceberg Wedge. A lame name but it was good. This had chili lime dressing, ginger, peanuts, shallots, tofu noodles, and white jelly mushrooms. Good just slightly Americanized Thai food. It's pretty authentic to be honest. The lunch is a good time to come and try some of the recently brought back menu, which has plenty of options for meat eaters, as well as vegans and vegetarians.

The place has options of seating - inside and outside, ranging from metal chairs to comfortable upholstered benches. We got the tom kha to begin with, which my husband, who's not vegetarian, devoured. It was truly delicious! We then got the Kung Pao with mushrooms and it was incredible - the flavors, the choice of vegetables, the sauce - all of it! We also got a chow mein but with rice noodles - this was the one dish that could take some improvement. Granted, the original recipe calls for wheat noodles, and that might be really good, though our rice noodles version of it was came out soggy. Our server had clearly had a long day - she was tired and forgetful (didn't bring us rice and we had a hard time flagging her down to request it). She also just brought us the check after dinner, without asking if we wanted any dessert. All in all, highly recommend this place for delicious plant-based food.

Now for the update. For years I considered this modest restaurant a highlight. The staff was cool…read moreand efficient. Ordering was a breeze and the guys were always open to a conversation or giving suggestions. The restaurant was clean and the meal was always tasty. Just a note but the further away you move from any major city the fewer and harder it is to find great Asian food. The suburb is lucky to have them. The pandemic brought new staffing. Some were pleasant with customers though one lady, a supervisor had the wrong ideas of what customer service and proper etiquette is. Just the basics of my final visit. I took my family for lunch. We ordered lunch specials and a couple extra must-try plates. Two specials hit the table and the third was left waiting for her meal. Unbeknownst to us in the moment, her food was handed to a single patron there for his lunch. The place was filling up with a lunch rush but not so many that had complicated orders. Many were ordering similar lunch specials. Kung pao lunch special was popular. When her order finally arrived the supervisor realized she had given the wrong plate to the customer sitting some tables behind us. Mind you ten minutes had already passed. She quickly went over to him and asked what he had ordered. She then took the plate he was eating from and handed him the fresh plate. He was still holding a half eaten egg roll in his hand. Then she brought the quarter eaten plate and placed it in front of my mother. Before she could leave I stopped her and asked her what she was doing. She simply stated that was her lunch order. I told her she handed my mother someone else's food that they were eating and I watched the whole thing. Why didn't you take that to the back and make a completely new plate of food?! I paid the bill and got the F**k out. That's gross. Also, you gave the other patron new food but cannot do the same for our table?? This place is dead to me. If she could do that, it beckons the question of what else is happening behind the scenes.

***Update: As you can see, the owner has decided to reply unprofessionally to my review, rather…read morethan reaching out to solve the issue. I'll let his response to my concerns speak for itself. My family has been coming to this restaurant for years, which makes this experience not just disappointing, but very upsetting. We placed a pickup order totaling over $100. When I arrived, I was told our order had been given to another customer. Instead of immediately apologizing and remaking the food, the front desk employee spent several minutes trying to find the order, then called the customer who took it and asked him to come back with the food so it could be given to me. This is an obvious food safety issue. Once food leaves a restaurant, it should never be redistributed. When I calmly said I was not comfortable taking food that had already gone to someone else's home, the employee argued with me extensively, insisting it hadn't been touched. I had to repeatedly ask for the food to be remade. When the other customer returned, the employee made a pointed comment that the food would be thrown away "because we have to remake it," while looking directly at me. This felt accusatory, uncomfortable, and inappropriate, especially since the mistake was not mine. After waiting over 40 additional minutes, I was still charged the full amount. When I politely asked whether there would be any consideration for the delay, I was told, "No, we already lost money on you." Being spoken to that way after showing patience and understanding was shocking and deeply unprofessional. Unfortunately, the situation did not end there. When we later called, the same employee refused to provide a manager or owner's contact information, and refused to let us speak with a manager. We asked the employee for her name and she replied "What's YOUR name and what's your problem?" That comment alone reflects a serious lack of professionalism. We emailed management twice to address what happened and have received no response. Mistakes happen, but what is unacceptable is arguing with customers about food safety, making them feel blamed for expecting safe food, speaking to them disrespectfully, and then ignoring follow-up. Management should take this feedback seriously, because this experience reflects poorly on their business. We are very sad to no longer be customers of PNS after many years of enjoying their food.
