Not cheap but I love how easy it was to customize. You can only pick 1 or 2 of some ingredients, but can add additional through the "extra" options. I wish the sauces on the side had labels because there were four and i can't tell what sauce is what. I had a tuna bowl with black seaweed and a bunch of vegetables. The black seaweed has a pretty strong sweet and savory flavor, which goes super well with the raw tuna. Tuna quality was decent, no stringy stretchy texture or fishy taste. The cuts are pretty small and quantity was not a lot but also not too noticeably little. All other vegetables are pretty fresh. I would definitely order again to try their tofu bowl and a few other ingredients they offer. Comes with a miso soup, and a pretty light and smooth biscuit! As for sauces, the yuzu was orange and creamy, pretty good without being too overpowering. The sweet soy is definitely a go-to, strong and dark sweet and savory flavor that's pretty thick like a syrup that would go well with any protein. I think the translucent orange colored sauce is orange ginger, which is just like a vinaigrette but can't tell the orange or ginger flavor very well. The sunomono has a pretty strong and dark taste and is more watery, mostly a savory and sour flavor not sweet.

This place has very fresh fish and a great variety of options. I got a build your own bowl with both salmon and chicken. The prices are reasonable and the servers are extremely friendly and welcoming. The bowls are deceivingly filling and each come with a side of miso soup and a biscuit. I would definitely come here again.

Hot food should be served hot ,not lukewarm. It was not tasty. Tables were awkwardly arranged.

Reopened with a new design and menu in 2020. This place is awesome now and the food is delicious. Exactly what Wilmette needed.

Healthy but delicious food, plus some amazing staff!! I recommend the Avocado Torch Bowl or one of the teriyaki's.

The shallot rice with vegetables had no vegetables at all and tasted as if it was premade and warmed up again in the microwave. The shallot rice with beef was the same and contained tiny bits of burned beef. The sushi was not fresh and the crispy spring rolls were akin to dog treat sticks. The food is expensive and some of the worse food I've ever had. While I appreciate the business owners detailed response, there are contradictions. When ordering the shallot fried rice from the restaurants website on July 2, vegetables were included as an option. Today vegetables have been replaced with herbs. Nevertheless we chose the available vegetable option therefore vegetables were requested. The restaurant received our vegetables request as indicated on the pictured receipt and packaging. We received herbs and rice but no vegetables. We did not order through a third party delivery service. We placed the order through the restaurant website and I arrived early to pick up the food. I hope that the owner is able to receive my feedback constructively and take accountability for the issues my family encountered with the restaurant.

Duck noodle soup- broth was perfection! It hit all the right spots and was loaded with delicious boneless duck. They did not skim on the duck. The noodles were wonderful, and plentiful, too. We had leftovers. For lunch the next day. The Saki Lover- I have never had a better tasting Salmon Nigiri. This was so fresh! The salmon roll was just as good. The salmon melted in your mouth, and the perfect amount of rice was given to each piece. I can't wait to order avain from here!

I ordered egg rolls, dumplings, and pad Thai. The pad Thai did not resemble a traditional version. It had noodles, but the sauce tasted more like a chili sauce rather than a peanut-based sauce. The dumplings were average. I was dining with my two sons, both under 10, and the experience did not feel particularly family-friendly. Service overall was limited. I had to wave the server down a couple times. While the server was more attentive to a takeout customer, our table did not receive the same level of service. Overall, the experience felt underwhelming and uncomfortable. I was nauseous after eating their food. I will not be returning and do not recommend it for families.

The takoyaki was actually better than average! I didn't expect much because I've had way too many disappointing takoyaki in this country, yet somehow I keep ordering it everywhere lol. Here, it was freshly cooked, crispy on the outside, and flavorful. Definitely recommend it. The pork katsu curry was decent, nothing fancy. I think the katsu itself could be improved in both texture and portion. The meat was a little too thin, and the breadcrumb coating could have been crispier. The curry was alright. It could have had a little more flavor, but overall it was still enjoyable, especially for the price. Service was also fine, nothing particularly memorable but no complaints either. The main reason this felt more like a 3.5 than a full 4 was actually the smell. The moment I walked in, there was a slightly unpleasant smell that reminded me of a kitchen that could use a deeper cleaning. I checked the menu and didn't see that much raw fish, so I'm not sure where it was coming from. To be fair, I've noticed a similar smell at quite a few casual Japanese restaurants, but it still affected the first impression a little. Overall, decent food at a reasonable price and convenient enough that I'd come back.

So happy they're back! Ambiance: Lulu's is now part of a triple restaurant combo with a shared kitchen & offerings for all of them. I believe the other 2 are Tex-mex and bar food. The place has kind of a nice pub feel which is a bit of a juxtaposition for Thai fusion but it is nicely appointed and comfortable. Service: Our server was very kind and warm, and always appeared at the perfect moment to help us out. Food came out INSANELY fast and was hot and fresh. Food: We had the poke and wings as appetizers and both were very large and tasty. Wings were sticky, sweet, hot and savory... perfect with a beer. The poke comes with delicious rice and could easily be someone's entree and they'd be very happy with it. Happy to say our fam favorite entree (the ginger chicken salad) is just as I remember if not better due to the fact that it seems to have doubled in size! We all laughed when the salad came out cause it was so massive. I ate for 15 min and took home a doggie bag filled with an entire meal, needless to say the value is great. Look forward to returning and bringing my mom since it was here favorite salad of all time.
