It's not like it was super busy yet us took over 10 minutes just to place our order. We ordered the following items. Even then it took around 15 mins to get our food. 1). Two pork & shrimp egg rolls. They were tasty but were burnt. (2 stars ) 2). My stand by shrimp egg foo yung. Tasty as always Very good (4 stars ) 3). Combo platter - called No 1 dish in the World? How & why? The dish had, chicken, shrimp, peapods, tomato's, & beef . The beef in the dish had a rancid taste. I should have sent this back (1 Star ) Service was very slow between ordering, receding the food & waiting to receive the check (2 stars )) Usually we come at lunchtime where the price difference between lunch & dinner is huge). The lunch is a much better deal for the same dishes). This restaurant usually has decent quality food but if I come back it will be for lunch & not dinner as the price point is much more affordable.

Now for the update. For years I considered this modest restaurant a highlight. The staff was cool…read moreand efficient. Ordering was a breeze and the guys were always open to a conversation or giving suggestions. The restaurant was clean and the meal was always tasty. Just a note but the further away you move from any major city the fewer and harder it is to find great Asian food. The suburb is lucky to have them. The pandemic brought new staffing. Some were pleasant with customers though one lady, a supervisor had the wrong ideas of what customer service and proper etiquette is. Just the basics of my final visit. I took my family for lunch. We ordered lunch specials and a couple extra must-try plates. Two specials hit the table and the third was left waiting for her meal. Unbeknownst to us in the moment, her food was handed to a single patron there for his lunch. The place was filling up with a lunch rush but not so many that had complicated orders. Many were ordering similar lunch specials. Kung pao lunch special was popular. When her order finally arrived the supervisor realized she had given the wrong plate to the customer sitting some tables behind us. Mind you ten minutes had already passed. She quickly went over to him and asked what he had ordered. She then took the plate he was eating from and handed him the fresh plate. He was still holding a half eaten egg roll in his hand. Then she brought the quarter eaten plate and placed it in front of my mother. Before she could leave I stopped her and asked her what she was doing. She simply stated that was her lunch order. I told her she handed my mother someone else's food that they were eating and I watched the whole thing. Why didn't you take that to the back and make a completely new plate of food?! I paid the bill and got the F**k out. That's gross. Also, you gave the other patron new food but cannot do the same for our table?? This place is dead to me. If she could do that, it beckons the question of what else is happening behind the scenes.

I placed a go-to order for the item I always order - triple egg fried chicken & hot dog Jianbing. Unfortunately, it was disappointment this time. The pancake itself was hard and thick. Heard of this place for quite a while. Remembering when I was little and asking my mom to buy me…read moreone from side of the street, she never agreed except once. My memory of the real jianbing was decades ago. I was excited to try this here. Ordering process was pretty straight forward but they have all these combos, so you'd have to do some math on whether it's better to get combo or individual items. This is actually not too different from mainland China system--just takes sometime to get used to. The foods were prepared pretty fast, well presented. Smelled really good while we were waiting. The place is really small, definitely more of delivery/take out spot than an eat in. All the packaging are disposable. They also provide a small packet of a pair of disposable gloves to eat the food with, which is great. Also very mainland service style-- this is also a common practice there. Now onto the actual food... it's pretty good, but not really authentic, not the 1980-1990 styled street food. However, it is pretty close to what you'd get from modern China, since it has bacon, hotdog, and also the crepe is more western than the traditional crunchy type. The sauces are on point. The best, and most Chinese flavored option is the Latiao (spicy stick) option because it has the spicy gluten stick and the classic Zhacai (pickled tuber). Very classic but also modern with the Latiao fad. The chicken one actually taste a a lot like the popcorn chicken from Hello Jasmine, probably the same batter. All the fillings are pretty big chunks so it falls out easily. We enjoyed it, even tho it definitely falls apart quickly. The real jianbing is given to you in a tiny plastic bag where it's all held together and doesn't fall apart. But anyway, it's good and all, but in my very honest opinion, so expensive! It's really not a lot of food for the price, unless you get the triple egg option. What impressed us the most is the soy milk lol. Hard to find not-too-sweet soy milk. They also had a BOGO. Comes out hot. Really comforting and reminds us of true Asian food. The Thai iced tea was powder based, not bad but not good either. I think dedicated Thai restaurant has better options. Bubble waffle is what you'd expect. It's good but not as crunchy as I'd like. Good snack but pretty pricy also. So overall, the food is not bad, but the quantity is quite little for the price-- not the best value but for the novelty and true-to-modern China flavor profiles, it might be worth the price. Hard to say.
