Saw this spot a couple of days ago, and I was hungry today so decided to check them out. I was wondering why it was empty inside and they only had 3.6 stars. When I pulled up I couldn't tell if they were open or closed. They had this plastic sign flipped to open but their lighted sign was dark and it looked dark inside. I got the cheeseburger with fries and a drink, the "house meal." The fries were tasty for a fry, seasoned lightly. The burger was delicious, the only thing I could've wished for is a thicker patty. I've been coming to ngl burgers for about 6 years. However, today 7/10/25 we went and the service was horrible. The owner had an attitude. He was not personable or even nice at all. We ordered a carna asda plate and club sandwich special and two drinks. But the total ended up being 34 dollars. At the time my husband asked for a receipt because one of the plates was 10.99 and the other was 11.99. The man decided that the drinks were 5 dollars a piece. He didn't want to give us the receipt. Then when we ordered we were asked if it was for here or to go I said here. I received my order in to go boxes. Our thoughts your money is good here but you have to eat elsewhere. This was the first place I stopped upon arriving to Colorado. I was craving a burger and so, of course, I took to Yelp to find a new and interesting place to visit. After stumbling upon this place I decided I'd try it out. Upon walking in I noticed it's not maintained as well as it could be. It's the equivalent of a dive bar but for burgers. The interior is outdated and lacking in my opinion. I also wish napkins and condiments on the tables were stocked better. I had to walk to a few different tables to get what I needed for my food. That being said, the food was really great. I ordered a combo (burger and fries) and was impressed with the quality. I would come back for the burger on its own, the food speaks for itself. Overall this place gets the job done. You can tell it's family owned and I thought the men behind the counter were very sweet. They filled me in on some of the restaurant history and what their most popular menu items are. I did have a good experience but it was nothing above and beyond. This restaurant was recommended to me as a great burger place. Much to my surprise most of the menu is not burgers, but instead it is Mexican. The burger and fries were mediocre at best. I'm a little torn. See, the restaurant itself seems like it has fairly great food - the breakfast burrito is massive, the gyro special looks alright, the steak special is also appealing. All of the Mexican dishes and sandwiches look awesome. But it's called "NGL Burgers". If you entered a place called "NGL Burgers", wouldn't you expect a place that specializes in, well, burgers? I ordered the burger special today, and it is with a weary heart that I say it did not live up to my standards. The patties were McDonald's-style thin, which led to them being overcooked. The burger fell apart as I picked it up because while the patties were thin, the whole burger was large in diameter. The bun was slightly burned on the top, and they didn't dry the lettuce before putting it on the burger, resulting in wet, soggy sauce dripping all over the container. "The works" on the burger included tomatoes, lettuce, regular American cheese, and uncooked onions - very generic and boring. Bite for bite, it tasted exactly the same as a Carl's Jr. Big Carl, but without the same look or quality. I think it might be because the sauce is almost an exact replica of the Carl's Jr. classic sauce, which is something of a mayo, relish, and ketchup blend. At first it was fine because I was hungry, but by the time I had consumed about 1/2 of the burger, it just got old. In fact, I was almost starting to regret the purchase. Why would anyone go out and pay $8 for a taste they could have surpassed at home? The fries are somewhere in-between steak and shoe string, so they were neither crunchy nor soggy. Nothing special. The restaurant itself looks a little old and worn down. The colors are somewhat ugly, and it wasn't a place I wanted to sit down in, so I stood as I waited for my to-go order. As I said before, all of the other menu items looked rather tasty and intriguing, but I came in looking for an awesome burger, which I didn't get. I will say though that the price is more reasonable here than at some other places I have eaten at. I will come back again and order something else next time to see how they fare in their other dishes. But if you're looking for a burger joint in Aurora, CO, you're better off hitting Fatburger just a block to the west near the SuperTarget. Now THAT was a tasty burger. read more

I've been coming to this place for many years just for the burger deluxe combo and grilled cheese. I didn't feel like waiting at a chain like Denny's, it's not worth it for the quality. You get what you pay for.... a 5 dollar effort. Anyways, NGL continues to amaze me. The fries were really good. The egg sandwich was super good. You can tell it's real egg not the cartoon stuff. The portion wasn't huge but it was satisfying. I mistakenly got like 3 pancakes not knowing they were super huge. I'm not a pancake person but for this place, amazing. I grew up with parents that loved greasy spoons where they could get a good dish at a cheap price and the owner would know your name. My family and I have been coming here before they changed ownership and it was seamless. They still have huge portions of decent food (it's really good for the price) and my dad still loves to chat with the owner. I particularly love the breakfast burrito as I am partial to breakfast foods. But I know my parents (who don't yelp) love everything. The gyros, the burgers, the works. I was a bit worried to try this place based on some of the negative reviews from 2011. However, it seems they must have cleaned up their act because I did not see any problems as far as cleanliness at all. The employees were extremely nice and seemed to know the regulars that came in while we were eating our meal. We got two of the specials (burger, fries, and drink for only $5). The meat to bread ratio was a bit off, enough that I will probably order a double next time and split it. I will also order extra onions next time because the onion-lettuce mixture was a bit lacking in the former. And yes, the burger has a thousand island-like sauce, which was actually pretty good. The burgers do come with a "special sauce" much like McDonald's Big Mac, so it's probably just thousand island dressing. They also have other burgers that have avocado, bacon, etc on it. The breakfast burrito is pretty good! It's much better than some of my favorite brunch places around Denver. Probably cause of the simplicity of their burrito. I'm Hispanic and grew up on the border of Mexico so having burritos that are "smothered" is still weird to me but I've gotten more used to it and their's is a pretty good green chili. The woman and man (I'm assuming they're married) who own the place are very nice. They usually cook when their other cook aren't there. Walking in to this mom and pop place on a Tuesday afternoon there was quite a few customers, which I always take as a good sign. The place was a little dirty, decided to stay anyway given the reviews. It was just mediocre, nothing special in my opinion. We got the burger specials and a chili cheese fry. The burgers were good but the patties were so small and thin, and the buns so thick it was a weird ratio. Not a fan at all of the green chili and the fries were just okay.
