It's all of my go-to Asian food on one platform milk tea, rice noodles, Chinese dishes, sushi, etc. The dishes are made fresh and usually come in warm. I like the preorder concept, which means I can plan my weekday meals ahead. I ordered the lunch bento too, which is delicious, and the portion is okay for 2. I also appreciate that I can order groceries together with my lunch, a great feature, especially when I'd like to order ingredients last minute. I ordered it for the first time last week for Lunar New Year Eve... Pros: - Food tasted fine - Portion is not huge, but reasonable - Price is reasonable - According to their site, it is healthier Chinese Food (don't know how true it is) - Food arrives within delivery window - You can order a variety of stuff in one go, including items from various places that have different style of food and also bakery items. - Delivery fee is reasonable. Cons: - Food arrived cold with no reheating instruction.  I ended up microwaving them.  I guess if you are making supplementary dish, you can control the timing since you have to reheat them. - 2 hrs delivery window.  I think you can pay couple buck more to have it shortened to 1.5 hrs or something like that.  We tend to eat around 6, 6:30 at the latest so 6:45 is a bit late for us.  Having said that, our order came at 6:15p Would I order from them again?  Probably...but I do like my food piping hot.  Reheating dishes (not leftover) kind of put me off for whatever unknown reason.  I also have to mentally be prepared the food won't get here until 6:45p. read more

1/28/21 I think previous to this review I wrote 2 others, but actually I think we've ordered #Nextdish maybe 20+ times already. Like I said before, this service was like a gift from God!--he said in a booming voice, "You Chinese of America, you do not have to resort to Panda Express! I will grant you real food!" And 6 days later he made Nextdish. Real f'in Chinese food. And at the beginning even better than many of the top tier $$$ Chinese restaurants of Fremont and Milpitas too! But then.............. God rested that 7th day... It was clear there was a steady downward trend over the last couple dozen orders, cumulating in our last order which really wasn't edible. We threw most of it away. Welp, call us idiots, but we ordered again. And f me, but it was good!... 1. Fried Little Yellow Croaker $12.95: So one thing that was NOT better was everything arrived cold. I remember the first few times everything was at least warm if not hot. Not no more. Be prepared for some microwave or toaster oven action, k? But that said, as my gf put it, this was THE CRISPIEST COOOOOOLD FISH EVER. Haha... yes, cold in the sealed plastic container. How the f did it stay as crispy as Captain Crunch????? I dunno. Maybe they reverse engineered Captain Crunch and coated fish in the stuff? Who knows, but it was insanely crunchy. Pretty meaty for what it is too. (And for those that are not familiar--these are friend WHOLE fish. You eat the head and all. Crunchy. Yummy. Makes you smart.) 10/10 2. Sliced Beef & Tripe in Spicy Oil $10.95: Classic. They nailed it in substance, though I would say traditionally it would probably be served 3x hotter and 3x more numbing. But, I would say that if you're not into true Szechuan hot food, you'll like the flavor and texture. I guess it's worth noting this was slightly different than I'm used to in that there's a crap ton of thick green onion stalk, cut up. That's kinda unusual. 5/10 3. Chicken and Corn Dumpling (12 pcs) $10.95: Ah, okay, so... I think this is where a small amount of the failing Nextdish showed its ugly head a bit--the skin is definitely on the over-boiled side. Slightly mushy, and a bit sticky. I think beyond being overcooked, there is a ratio problem with flour and water, or perhaps a technique problem cause the texture is not just due to overcooking. I know this cause my gf makes boiled dumplings all the time, and once in a while it would come out like this too, and she'd say she knew what she did wrong... ...but the skin aside, the stuffing is DELICIOUS! Super flavorful and rich, especially for a dumpling meat. I never knew chicken could taste so good in dumplings! 5/10 4. Steamed Brown Rice (14oz) $1.50: Alright, so like I said, it came cold. For Chinese-style steamed rice, that means it was also a bit hard. I think we were too lazy to microwave so ate it as is, and thus can't really comment if it was made well or not. .........so, I dunno if you think this is fair, but I don't think a single good meal out of the last dozen is worth an entirely opposite overall score right? Smart People order on NextDish! It's such an efficient way to get the snacks, groceries and food you want delivered to your house! I ordered desserts from south bay and it gets to my door within the same day. They packaged the food very well and the food is very fresh. I love their pork sung cake with the mayonnaise and seaweed, the Mochi donut is very fresh and you can get the most fancy boba using NextDish. This is a not a tradition on-demand food delivery App and I love how they don't charge any platform fee and no delivery fee if you buy above certain amount. I'm a new Nextdish customer, just used it for a month and love it so far. I have been able to find dishes I like to order on Nextdish almost daily. I have been ordering about 3 times a week. So far, all my orders have been fulfilled to my satisfaction without complications/missing items/extreme delays/etc.. I also appreciate the extra effort they put in to wrap/bag the items with high leaking risk. I haven't received any spilled/messy deliveries from Nextdish yet. All my orders were delivered in neat, professional condition. That is extremely important to me. There were only a couple of dishes I didn't like. 95% of what I ordered so far have been on the healthier side(less sodium/less or no flavored/spicy sauces/low or no carb/low added sugar/sweetener). So far I feel better enjoying the Chinese dishes from Nextdish than the ones I ordered from Doordash/Ubereat/Grubhub. I still use Doordash for the western gourmets I like. For healthy Chinese gourmets, Nextdish is the one. I highly recommend. read more

I have been a Nextdish member since 2021 and have been ordering weekly until the recent week. The available daily menu has been downsized from Mon-Sun few weeks ago to Mon-Sat, then to the now Friday-only. At first I thought it's a technical issue and called Nextdish. I was informed the menu options are now limited to my location, San Francisco downtown. I also noticed my membership benefit, free delivery fee has changed to $4.99 or $4.95. I asked the customer support if a change notice was sent to Nextdish members? He said "Yes". I asked him to email me a copy of the notice. He said he didn't have one and will ask someone to send it to me. It's been 2 days and I am still waiting. Nextdish continued to charge me monthly membership fee without notifying me that they have reduced my membership benefits. The membership benefits are still publicized same as before on their website without information regarding the limited menu selections for San Francisco area. This is false advertisement. Very authentic Chinese food, order before 2pm, you will received the dinner around 6ish at your door. The food is freshly cooked everyday and lots of varieties, they all taste really good. Price is very reasonable, around $12, but they offer half size, so I usually order 4 half size dishes so that I can taste more food within $35 budget. As a Chinese it is always a tough decision between the authenticate traditional cooking/seasoning and healthy eating. I'm glad my friend recommended Nextdish to me as it is proven to be a perfect balance in between. So far I've tried 10 different dishes and I like all of them. Food may arrive cold as it may take quite sometime for one driver to drive around and deliver. It is understandable and I'm ok with it. As long as the food is cook fresh for that meal, I wouldn't mind reheat it for five minutes in microwave. One downside is their app does not support Lunch order yet. You'll have to go to their website before 9am to order lunch. I'll keep update this thread as I try more dishes. read more

We order Nextdish every week or so. It's a food delivery service that has grown to be quite reliable. Occasionally the food is delivered after the time frame set, but not often. They reset the menu for the week on Sundays and if you order by 2PM it is delivered to your door and they can leave on the porch. Some dishes are made in-house and others are from various restaurants in the area. In general, some dishes are better than others but it's fairly homemade tasting Chinese food. The packaging isn't too bad and the portions are ok for the price. Some items still come warm but you usually need to heat it up when it is delivered, but that's how it's intended. Will never order again. I choose it for my New Year's Eve dinner because it promise hot and early delivery. I paid for early delivery that delivery should be between 4:45-6:00pm. I waited until 6:00, they texted me the food will be delayed for more than 1 hour. If you cannot grantee early delivery, why do you charge and promise? First time with NextDish tonight. Ordered all the favorites to test out the new restaurant. Delivery came on time. Order on line was simple just had to remember to do before 3 pm. All the food was amazingly good and clean and not the typical fare you get around the bay area (overcooked, too much cornstarch and cheap ingriedents). Every part of the dishes was well thought out and good solid food. Best Black Bean sauce ever. I have to mention the serving dishes. The large round plastic bowls and tight lids with snap that came were perfect for serving and nice to set out if doing an event or just a large family like ours. They microwave nicely. We love the food and it is competively priced to the lesser quality food you get in restaurants. Good Stuff. We are fans! read more
